Food and service were on point. Josh P. and Shariya went out of their ways to make accommodations for us. And the DJs were good!

Amazing service and the food. Everything is well priced…read more My favorite place to go. Friday and Saturday nights are super packed with Providence College students. The weekdays are easier to get a table or bar seat. I love all the burgers, wings, hot dogs and shakes (Boozy or regular). Cons: I basically love everything on the menu EXCEPT the crinkle fries and the taco salad. (The crinkle fires I never liked but I am starting to see them more in some bars. They seem to not as crunchy as the regular fries and hold more grease including being more mushy then crunchy as mentioned before. The taco is like a Salsa salad which greens and Salsa. The taste is not bad but it becomes a wet salad). Pros: Everything else on the menu fantastic! My favorites: Turkey burger , mushroom burger, providence burger bar special, chili cheese hot dog, fried Mac and cheese, Strawberry Shake with a frozen fruit INCLUDING the Garlic Parmesan Buffalo wings. The only place I know can do hot dogs this great besides wieners from Olneyville and Babbas! Service: Incredible and friendly service. Only on the weekends service becomes wicked busy due to the number of crowds. One of my other favorite spots! :-)

First came the wings, wet and flavorful to the max with an extra dilly ranch and real bacon crumbles. Then came the cupped pepperoni pizza on a wheat crust, greasy but not more than you would like to be. In previous visits I have had the BLT and mushroom banh mi to which I also cannot rave enough about. Get out of your house and grab a beer at Buttonwoods and food at Screaming Unicorn so you know what it's like to live a life full of hops and flavor!

RI food fights brought me in and you don't get access to the whole sandwich menu here, unfortunately you have to pick between their "Mushroom Bahn MI" and their "Screaming BLT". I went with the BLT since I wasn't feeling the vegan option. The description was "chili-hoisin glazed bacon | sliced tomato baby greens tomato jam | dill pickle pickled red onion chipotle aioli toasty thick-sliced white bread". Honestly, it was underwhelming. It had some tasty components but it was pretty average. The bacon was terribly weak. It was probably frozen precooked bacon that is heated and brushed with a hoisen glaze. I was hoping for some thick cut glazed almost candied bacon. Their avg. sandwich was around $16-17. If paying for that, I'd be left pretty disappointed. On top of that, it probably took around 35-40 minutes to get the sandwich. Again, pretty okay sandwich, the pickled onion, tomato jam and Chipotle aioli elevated things, but it's in vain with the bacon they use. Their other sandwiches sound good, so it's possible I'll visit to try them out at some point but can't see myself running back here after my impression with this BLT.

The women's restroom was designated as gender-neutral, which made me uncomfortable. After that, we ordered a round of drinks. The bartender was friendly, though you could tell he was a little stressed. We then tried a few vegan sandwiches, but I couldn't figure out why the fries weren't automatically included. I mean, when you're ordering a vegan meal, I assumed fries would come as a standard side. The portion sizes for two were also a bit disappointing. The sandwiches themselves were tasty, but the burger was kind of lost under an overwhelming amount of sauce--even though I'll admit, the sauce was pretty satisfying on its own. On the upside, the view outside really saved the day. I loved seeing the water across the street and having a nice little path to walk along.

Serving veganized versions of traditional pub fare, the food is excellent. I was especially pleased with the buffalo cauliflower bites. The breading was legit (and kind of reminded me of getting fried seafood by the sea as a kid). This was robust, crunchy, and flavorful - a far cry from the barely-covered-in-panko stuff I have gotten at other places. I had the Philly "cheesesteak," which was a tasty sandwich that really did riff on the old classic. My husband did a lettuce-wrapped truffle burger, and that might be the only place that I paused because absent the bun, you can see just how little the serving is. They also have sushi from the Make Out available, and I did a tomato tuna nigiri that was tops. I want to come back just for the sushi. The service was a little slow, but our server made a point to apologize thank us for our patience. She was just really busy, but she was also very upbeat and cognizant of making people wait. I don't often encounter many servers like that - she seemed to be legitimately happy to be there. They have a great beer selection, including plenty of draft, and they also have wine and cocktails available. It was good enough that we made plans to return before we leave town, and I know it will be a stop when we come back. Probably the first one!

First of all, the restaurant itself is small but very cute, cozy, and full of lovely New England-y Sea-Themed decor. We were promptly seated and had our order taken for our drinks & food - I had heard good things about this place, so I got a decent amount of food items, including: Lobster Roll - Arguably the best lobster roll I've ever had so far in my life. The brioche bun for it was soooo fluffy, soft, and a perfect complement to the big, juicy chunks of lobster that were seasoned and buttered JUST right. Also came with hefty and well-seasoned fries. New England Clam Chowder - Came with salted pork and potatoes in addition to the quahog clams. It was deliciously creamy and soothing to slurp on and the chunks within were all so tender and a great contrast. Clam Cakes - Added them to the Clam Chowder order for an extra $8. Big, hefty, doughy balls that were perfectly fried outside and ooey gooey within. Fish & Chips - Big, hefty fish that was juicy & delicious with a great crunch on the outside! Similarly came with the 'chips', or the hefty, well-seasoned fries that the lobster roll also came with. Oh yeah, pardon me, forgetting to mention the drinks! We ordered the Briny Martini and the Harbor House Punch! The Martini was great for a stronger drink and the Punch was a nice cocktail for anyone preferring something sweeter and fruitier. When it came to the food, service, and dining experience...it couldn't have been better! Everything was incredibly delicious and definitely worth ordering. This memorable experience then reached exceptional circumstances, however, as while we were in the middle of dining here and enjoying our delicious food, there was a shooting occurring just up the street at Brown University. I wish to commend the staff at Dune Brothers, who looked out for mine and their other patrons' safety and sheltering us in their restaurant as we all nervously waited for more information on what exactly was going on that evening. Exceptional circumstances aside, this restaurant is also exceptional when it comes to the quality of their food and service. I highly recommend coming here if you're in Providence!

The portions all around appeared huge. The flavor combinations were great and recommend you try. A side of fries is plenty for two to split as well.
