I really wanted to like Ours because we frequent several hookah lounges around the area and I always like trying somewhere new. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed. I wouldn't call it a terrible place, but compared with some of the other hookah spots on Federal Hill, this one felt pretty clearly below average. We sat at the bar and ordered two gum mint hookahs. I will give them credit where credit is due: the hookah itself was actually good. It came out quickly after we ordered, the flavor was good, and the overall quality of the hookah was solid. That's really the reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. If you're judging strictly on the hookah, they did a perfectly respectable job. The rest of the experience was another story. The music was much too loud for what I personally want from a hookah lounge. I understand that they probably have a clientele that enjoys that particular music and atmosphere, and there's nothing inherently wrong with that, but if you're looking to sit down, smoke a hookah and actually relax or have a conversation, it can be difficult. The music simply wasn't my taste either, so it became more of a distraction than part of the experience. Unfortunately, the service didn't help. Our bartender didn't seem particularly interested in being there, and there were several comments made to the waitress whenever people came in that gave the impression she wasn't especially thrilled with either the customers or the job in general. Maybe we caught her on a bad night, and I'm always willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, but as a customer, that's the impression that came across. You don't necessarily need someone bouncing around with a huge smile every second, but a little enthusiasm goes a long way in a lounge where the entire point is supposed to be relaxing and enjoying yourself. The atmosphere itself is actually decent. It's nicely done and has a good overall look, but the space is small, and once it starts filling up, it can feel pretty crowded. That's not necessarily a deal breaker, but combined with the loud music, it makes the room feel considerably less relaxed than I was expecting. The drinks looked good, but I also wasn't particularly impressed with what they cost. At those prices, I expect the drink itself and the overall experience to justify the bill, and I didn't feel like they quite got there. Maybe I'm spoiled by some of the other places we've visited, but that's part of the comparison when you're charging lounge prices. I'm trying to be as objective as possible here because there were some positives. The hookahs were good, they were prepared quickly, the space itself is attractive, and I'm certainly not saying this is some horrible establishment. It just didn't give me much reason to choose it over the several other hookah lounges on the Hill that we've enjoyed considerably more. It's also a relatively small place, so I could see the experience being very different depending on the night, the crowd and who's working. I probably won't be rushing back, but I'm not completely writing it off either. Give it some time and maybe we'll come back and give it another shot. For now, though, two stars feels fair. The oxtail was flavorful fall of the bone and on top of super cheesy mac and cheese. My Caribbean chicken pasta was amazing. The food was amazing and the place was decorated wonderfully. The plates were decently portioned for a great price. One thing though, our waitress never really asked for our order. She kinda just stood by our table waiting for us to speak which was a bit odd. Normally, I wouldn't care but the automatic service tip was 20%, adding an extra 14 dollars to our meal. After that, we had to pay an extra 3.99% for using our card. There were no non-alcoholic drinks on the menu, so my group had to ask for drinks without knowing the prices. I got a passionfruit lemonade and two of my friends got Shirley temples, which were reasonably priced, but another pair got virgin piña coladas unfrozen and they were a bit expensive. The drinks were delightful but I'd suggest asking for the price beforehand, because it may surprise you. My friends and I really enjoyed taking pictures, especially after 9 because that's when they turn off the lights and turn on more decorations. I'd definitely go again. I got chicken and broccoli Alfredo. Seasoned great but leaned a bit in the saltier side. The broccoli was cooked great but the chicken had little flavor. Great decor and presentation on food. They are able to accommodate for large groups even 20 people or more. Would be a nice date spot. Fresh Flowers and palms everywhere. No valet. Chef and staff are helpful and friendly and even separated our large bills (included tip on each tab). I like the vibe with the music. They did not rush us and has pitchers of water for self serve. I'm truly a sucker for any salmon accompanied with a dark ambiance, and their honey glazed salmon never disappoints. Cocktails are a hit or miss. But I plan on working my way through the menu in hopes of discovering something I actually Love! Unfortunately, I can't recall her name, but the waitress was fantastic and very friendly. The restaurant has a very contemporary, almost Instagram-like vibe which works for some folks but isn't really my cup of tea. It included the signature grass wall with an LED sign. I can't believe it's taken me so long to leave a review for this hidden gem of a place. OURS is on located on Atwells in Providence, RI. I still to this day find myself craving it all the time. This place is so underrated, I was truly impressed. With its hookah, food, and drinks options, they had it all . If I lived closer, I'd definately be a regular here! I seen an amazing video on instagram and decided to give OURs a try in celebration of a goal I achieved. OURS was about an hour drive. There's a-lot of street parking available outside this restaurant and several other restaurants on the same street. The aesthetics inside OURs are pretty from the colors, and chandeliers however its super small and giving bar vibes. Food: started off with the OURs Wings ($14), these wings were soooo good, marinated well, with a touch of garlic sauce and parmesan cheese, the wings were a 10 out of 10. French fries ($6) were perfect, nice and crispy 10/10. Shawarma Mac & Cheese ($24) was so delicious, the chicken was seasoned really well and the mac and cheese was creamy. 10/10 Steak Schawarma ($20) the steak was a little dry however it was good 8/10 Drinks: Shirley Temple ($3) Ours Potion ($14), with this drink, i wanted what I seen on their IG real however I was informed that the video on IG had more pink dust/glitter than they actually make it. So they did not make it the way it was advertised on social media. Although this drink was really good, I believe they should have made it the way they advertised it. It looks better in their IG video Passionata With Casamigos ($16), really good. The only reason why I am rating OURS a 4 star instead of 5 is because when I made the reservation online, I specified that I would need a highchair. They have a system where your reservation isn't set until they confirm it. So by them confirming my reservation, I would assume that they had highchairs available. That wasn't the case when we arrived to OURS which was an hour drive from where we live. Although they didn't have any highchairs, my toddler was able to sit on the big chair with me constantly holding her onto the chair. We went at a good time where OURS wasn't busy so we decided to stay (especially after the long drive) however I wouldn't think this place a kid friendly just based on them not having any high chairs. Also, towards the end while heading to the restroom, I noticed OURs had another side which had a swing and seemed a lot bigger than the side we were in. We ordered two of the platters to share between 4 people (waitress said 1 platter fed 2ppl) and each platter basically would of only fed 1 person to be honest. One platter came with 2 chicken skewers, 2 beef kabobs and 2 little lamb chops; plus rice, tiny plates of salad, small hummus and chips. The platters were $70; the others in our group ordered regular plates ($25-30) and had as much food as the platters (for example one plate of chicken skewers had 2, plus rice/veggies/salad). Cool spot on Atwells Ave in Providence. My first time dining there. Lots of restaurants on that strip and most of them have outdoor seating. The street is closed off for outdoor dining & live music, although there was no music this time. Ours is one of several hookah places in the area. We went for the food and sat outside to try to avoid the smoke. The servers were nice and the service was good. The food was ok overall but over-priced imo. It may look like there's a decent amount of lamb on that plate, but it was very thinly cut. The Knafeh dessert was not good at all. Tasted stale and was overly sweet. We were also a bit disappointed that the drinks didn't come out looking pretty like they had in the pictures on their IG. I come with a group to enjoy a classic meal of the night. Unfortunate news came to play with plates of unseasoned dish of the day. The meat was absolutely a challenge to chew. Meat texture became a problem and unable to enjoy a good savoring meal. Pasta dry as elementary school meal, Marinara sauce unseasoned as well. The sauce tasted half watery and did not hold itself together with the pasta. The pasta itself was diabolical as well. And even then, there were no choices whether to place in our own tip amount or not. It had come about after the amount of fee was deducted from the actual price. After the deduction, there was no point of even adding a tip when the amount is already more. Each of the dishes did not meet its expectations. The environment of the restaurant had a foul smell which have created disturbances in the environment while trying to eat our food.
