PAELLA MARINERA

This was my first time here. I came here to eat with my manager that was in town. It was a nice night so we sat outside. Not sure that was a great idea because there was a lot of flies. I also saw a mouse or a rat whatever you wanna call it. It is Providence and tons of restaurants so not surprising. The seating outside was horrible. I felt like I was sitting on the ground because the chairs were so low. I felt like a child so I had to use my back cushion to sit on so it could be a little higher. Our waitress wasn't bad. She was OK. The food was actually really good. My steak was a little overcooked and so was my Chicharron to my liking. The paella was huge.

Terra Luna is a Latin/Caribbean American Restaurant in Providence around Federal Hill My wife and I were in town for a graduation at Brown University, graduation time tends to be busier than usual. On a Friday night, a friend who is a local recommended this place and we were able to get a table pretty quickly without a reservation. This place is in the Federal Hill area which on Friday night had a lot of bar and restaurant activity. Parking near the place seemed a little challenging, we ended up parking down the street a couple blocks at the Walgreens Parking Lot, there are no outside parking signs but my friend says they don't check. Their cocktails are pretty strong so you get your money's worth there. We ordered a bunch of bar food (nachos, chicken wings, etc) which was pretty good. The highlight was the Camarofongo which is a traditional Caribbean dish with mashed taro, and my friend ordered it with shrimp. It was good, but we couldn't finish it all. The place has a nice decor, TVs for watching sports, and the staff were pretty responsive

I've been here a couple of times. Enjoyed the food. Service was on the slow end, and it took a while for the food to come out. It gets busy here and the atmosphere is upbeat.

My first time going to Terra Luna on Federal Hill. My daughter brought me here for my birthday lunch. She said it's a Dominican restaurant. The lunch special ate reasonable with different options, they also have a good $5 special drink menu. The appetizers were really good as was the Margarita. My lunch special was ok the fish seemed like it came from a supermarket and not a fish import. It was pretty flat. They do have hookah if your into that. They play music and gave and inside and in the summer outside seating. We did sit in a covered outside area which was cool but the plastic going around us could use some cleaning, you couldn't see outside much and the mold settling in between the plastic is not appealing. They also have some construction going on so you have to be careful going into the restaurant, the inside in nicely done, the bathroom could use some redoing and maybe build an additional bathroom as one is not enough. They also have a bar section. Prices are reasonable

chicken MIJOS TACOS

came here on a Sunday expected it to be busy because the weather was nice. The hostess was kind of rude. We sat for 10 minutes before somebody even came over to give us water and acknowledge us inside. Only had two other tables. I wish I would've read the description of the tacos. I ordered, but was not expecting a slice of ham a slice of American cheese and no vegetables on the chicken tacos. The food was trash.

Got you! Here's a long, detailed review that's still social-media-ready, with energy and punch: "Terra Luna is absolutely out of this world! I've had mofongo before, but nothing compares to this--the flavors are bold, perfectly balanced, and downright addictive. The service is incredible too, warm, friendly, and attentive, making the whole meal feel special from start to finish. And don't even get me started on the rest of the menu--Latin food at its absolute best, with each dish more delicious than the last. Honestly, this place isn't just good, it's a 10/5 experience. If you love unforgettable flavors, amazing vibes, and top-notch service, you have to check out Terra Luna!

PATACON DE ROPA VIEJA

Came here on july 3rd which was a Monday, but right before the holiday. They were very short staffed. We got to sit right away, because we saw some friends and asked if we could sit at the table right next to them. It then took about 20mins to be acknowledged and to order. We flagged down one guy who said he was just the hookah guy & walked away. I will say, once we met our server she was very nice, and was definitely overwhelmed with the number of tables she had, so we tried to be understanding. As for the food, the patacones were really good! The drink was delicious as well. The flan was ok, it was a bit watery & not as set as I would have liked it. If you're not in a rush, it's a good place to go!

Absolutely had a time here for 4th of July Brunch. Drinks were fantastic (so many flavors for the margs!). Food was great! Vibes were greater!

Skirt steak & mash & skirt steak with yucca fries

I was visiting my cousin in cranston for her birthday weekend and after seeing Terra Luna on instagram we had to go! When we entered we were greeted by a very friendly hostess! we had an option to sit inside or the enclosed patio, but we chose the enclosed patio because it was cute brunch vibe. The waitress was very nice, patient & even gave us helpful suggestions.now the food was amazing! A lot of places that advertise brunch/boozy brunch the food isn't always great. The yucca fries are a must try,the skirt steak cooked to perfection & the mash potato's were great! I even took an order of yucca fries to go.Highly recommend Terra Luna!

The decor and ambiance were fantastic, creating a great atmosphere to relax and enjoy. They offer a wide selection on their menu, including enticing drink and lunch specials, and also have hookah available. While the service was a bit slow, I recommend asking for a printed check to carefully review it, as gratuity is automatically included. Overall, it was a solid experience with lots of options to choose from!

CHILLO A LO MACHO

Came to Rhode Island to visit my friend for the 4th of July. Really was craving seafood and this place came up. We were glad that they were open due to so many other restaurants being closed for the holiday. First, the customer service was great! Our server was so sweet and attentive. We sat outside and that was nice as well. Very comfortable and cute. I ended up having 3 drinks: the dominican kiss, and both a white and red sangria. All of them were delicious, but I liked the white sangria the most. I ended up ordering the chillo a lo macho. Soo delicious!! It was a bit hard to figure out the best way to eat it (lol) but the flavor was delicious. I would definitely come back here if I'm able to go to visit Providence again.

churrasco a la brasa, coconut shrimp, and beef empanadas

I visited Terra Luna last month for a late night dinner. They close at 1, but the kitchen closes at around 12:30 AM. There is an extensive menu - I wasn't sure of what to order. We started off with drinks - which I am pretty sure were watered down, but still good. My party and I ordered the churrasco steak, paella, coconut shrimp, and beef empanadas. The appetizers weren't worth it, but the entrees were filling! I loved the churrasco sauce paired with the steak and rice; definitely shareable with 2-3 other people. The paella was also delicious, we had to take it home for leftovers. They have hookah - but it is not on the menu. You have to ask for it. They do have several flavors to choose from. Maybe not the most kid-friendly environment, but definitely a vibe for a night out with friends on the Hill or a date night. Service was fine and parking is in front of the restaurant, but you will have to pay. I think I'd definitely come back, but be more aware of what to order next time beforehand.

Good, but hidden fee in bill.
Tara B.

Buyer Beware! The empanadas were good. However, after our dinner, when we received the check, there was 15% service fee included that I overlooked. I absolutely understand that 's was my fault, but then I tipped on top of that. So essentially I left a 40% tip. It is listed on their website, however , usually I see a percentage added to a party of six or more. Not for two. So be aware that there is a 15% service fee for parties under six and usually if you're not paying attention, you will end up double tipping. Frustrating

The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

I bought a cinnamon bun ($5) and it was basic. Once you bite it, you realize it is just a brioche…read moredonut with some frosting. There were no cinnamon-butter layers inside it. The frosting was incredible though. That stuff could go on anything. The cinnamon buns at Oak Bakeshop and Whole Foods are much better with those typical gooey layers inside. Also, it was not large in size, anyone can eat it in one sitting. The worker who took my order was very friendly and it is so nice/comfortable inside there.

My dreams came true visiting this cafe…read more The peak of ambiance, it's the perfect mix of chic/elegant/minimalist vibe but still gives that comfy homey feel. Service is amazing, there was a small line when I went and it moved so fast and watching them make the drinks is like watching art be made. Everything we had was absolutely incredible. I loved it so much I went back later to get a 2nd coffee. I will mourn that this is not in LA.

I was told about the Nitro Bar before I even left Texas. So, its reputation is great. What I didn't…read moreknow was it's located within a bicycle shop and as a guy that is way cooler than just a sweet coffee shop. While awaiting for my coffee I looked at a few of the bicycles. I was happy to see there were peddling ones as well as electric...Bravo to that! On to the coffee shop. The line was long and out the door. There is even a roped off area to help keep patrons in a line. I will say the line moved pretty fast though. However, if you have a limited amount of time, then maybe come back. Overall it took about 10 to 15 minutes by the time the coffee was in our hands. There is limited seating inside but there are several tables with chairs outdoors. Yesterday was a beautiful fall day and it was perfect to sit outside. The Nitro Bar has several types of drinks to include both hot and cold. They have them with different flavors and right now Cinnamon Roll seems to be a favorite. However, I ordered a hot caramel latte. Yes, they have different milks. My latte wasn't too hot so it was easy to drink. It did have a nice Carmel flavor. Nitro Bar also has pastries available, which looked pretty good. Somehow I was strong and didn't get any...the carrot cake was very tempting. The downside or upside depending on your perspective, are the prices are a little expensive (sugar is not cheap) and it was mostly women in line. There were not many fellas at all. Nonetheless, you just have to try it...at least once, or twice! Thank you to the Nitro Bar here in Providence on Broadway for another good memory here in Rhode Island!
