Swordfish with broccolini, potatoes and beans. Deliciousness.

Located in a beautifully appointed building just an elevator ride to the rooftop restaurant. The entrance is elegant and the dining room is exquisite flanked on both sides by wonderful rooftop dining including fire pit seating. The bar wraps around to the outdoor seating, perfect spot for a cocktail and pizza. The service and staff is beyond friendly and professional, everyone made our dinner extra special. Everyone was very attentive. The food was served timely and elegantly. The swordfish was cooked to perfection, the salad as light with a refreshing dressing and my mocktail was chilled and delicious.

    Colorful cocktails for starters.

Nice outdoor rooftop experience. Not that the views were that amazing, but at least it is fresh air and unique. Went for restaurant week three course prefix $45 was a nice deal. Service was terrific and the food was good. Drinks were pricey... $370 for four of us. Calamari was good and plentiful. Salmon was well cooked, but skimpy on the wasabi aioli and chocolate cake was excellent. I'd recommend it for a nice occasion place.

My friend and I did a walk-in for restaurant week and decided to sit on the patio to enjoy the scenic view and the beautiful weather. It took a while before anyone came over, but we did get some bread and dipping oil while we waited. To be fair, it looked like we came during the dinner rush. We asked for the restaurant week menu and waited a little longer before finally putting in our drink and food orders. I ordered the Tequila Blossom, which honestly just tasted like orange juice... nothing special. It also got warm over the course of the meal, so I asked for a cup of ice. The Summer Beet Salad was a solid starter and a generous portion. The flavors were a good balance of acidic and bitter, but after a few bites it started to feel repetitive. The Steak Frites were pretty straightforward. The green beans were slightly overcooked, the fries were crisp, and the steak was cooked how I asked. It didn't really stand out, but it got the job done . The velvety chocolate cake was the highlight. I almost wish there were more than just one blackberry on the plate, but it did help me finish off that orange juice cocktail. The dinner felt a bit long overall, but I was in great company and the evening was beautiful--so I can't complain too much For the restaurant week price, it was a great dinner and a fantastic way to enjoy the sunset .

Food was very good, we started with the RI calamari that we've ever had. Sea scallops over risotto, Shrimp & Cod Mozambique The scallops and risotto were warm, but not hot the shrimp and cod Mozambique was outstanding! Our server was Jack super nice guy attentive, I've read in other reviews about the service being a little slow. It was very busy and so I understand. Ambience very very cool, modern, but not pretentious great lighting, comfortable seats. Can't wait to go back again when it gets warmer.

Food/Drinks: Both times I've visited, I got the salmon, and it's consistently amazing, crispy, flavorful, and easily one of my favorite spots for it. The drinks are also great, delicious and well-balanced with a good amount of alcohol. Location: This is definitely a go-to for a special night out. The ambiance is romantic and classy with dim lighting, a stylish decor, and even a light-up backdrop for great photo ops. The views are beautiful and make the experience even better. Service: Service has been excellent both times. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel welcome without ever rushing us.. even on Valentine's Day. 10/10 recommend !

Had the most delicious dinner/apps here the other night & this is my go to spot for date night/girls night etc. so need to share some of my favs. - lobster bisque 10/10 I actually cried real tears when the seasonal menu changed and this was no longer available. - burrata salad 8/10 tastes amazing but wish there were more greens. - cheese board (no meat option) 8/10 really good cheese options (but feel like there should be larger portions of them) love the spread options, but need to get rid of the pickled veggies. Feel like this is a great time to try Mare if you haven't gone before their menu is so yummy right now they also have the fun igloos outside to dine in!

We had a nice dinner. Our server-in-training took excellent care of us and did a fantastic job, with Aaron guiding her along the way. The roasted chicken and gluten-free Bolognese were both average and my bourbon smash was outstanding. The atmosphere was very nice, still early, before sunset, but you can tell it would have a whole different energy at night. It was surprisingly quiet for 7 PM on a Saturday, which is a shame because this place really has a lot to offer. Definitely worth a visit.

Mare is a class act. Seven of us went on Mother's Day - a day that has historically been filled with disappointing food and service. This year changed my opinion of what I could expect when you take the time to pick the right establishment. From the moment we arrived, the Team was pleasant, inviting, and made for an incredibly easy going experience that every good mother deserves. Being inside a glass rooftop, I'd imagine that it isn't the easiest place to manage temperature-wise, but it was very comfortable and I noticed Team members opening or closing the large folding glass panels to allow for more or less airflow as was appropriate based on the weather - just a small thing I noticed that could make a big difference if managed improperly. The Manager, Katherine, was excellent, and checked on us throughout our experience to make sure everything was going smoothly. Jack, our waiter, was on top of things the whole time, punctual with drinks and food, courteous, and very amicable. We were never rushed, our whole visit had a very natural flow, and the food was second to none. Appetizers were excellent - Margherita Pizza, Charcuterie Board, and the Meatball Arancini. For lunch, a few of us got the Seafood Mozambique, one the Blackened Salmon, another the Frutti di Mare, and I got the Steak Frites. Although the steak was excellent, I won't lie - the Mozambique looked outstanding and I wish I would have tried it. That means I'll just have to go back soon haha. There were rave reviews and not a single complaint about the food or anything else, for that matter; being Mother's Day especially, that is a badge to wear proudly, as it isn't easy to accomplish. We look forward to returning together as a family, and I look forward to many more experiences here myself. Thank you to everyone at Mare Rooftop who made Mother's Day 2026 a day for the books!

Three of us (two mothers) went for a Mother's Day early dinner. I have always liked the design and ambiance of this place. The current chef does a good job. I was glad to see the restaurant full of a variety of people. We ordered three different drinks - a mimosa, Bombay Sapphire and a Chianti. To eat we shared shishito peppers - quite good. Other dishes were a lobster bisque, a Caesar salad, pasta puttanesca (tasty but a little too salty), a herb encrusted cod and the special the halibut (somewhat a surprise at an expensive $60). None of us had any room left for dessert but I did end with an espresso. The check came to over $205 for the three of us without a tip.our server, Jadyn, was pleasant and attentive in spite of the busy situation. Almost worth it for a special occasion! Dining here during the day when one can take advantage of the rooftop views is better than eating at night.

What a fantastic venue. We booked the Mare Rooftop for a 50th birthday celebration. Not only was the semi- private space the perfect way to surprise our guest of honor, but it comfortably accommodated a party of 25. Simplistic but elegantly decorated. And the food was incredible - everyone complimented their dishes - sirloin cooked to perfection, pan seared chicken, and a salmon to die for. A delectable selection of desserts, too! But what made the night was the staff. Catherine and her team were attentive, kind, and friendly. It was exactly why we chose to host our event here. Through and through , start to finish, the planning was a breeze. Communication was seamless. I highly recommend The Mare for parties or a dinner with family or friends. You won't be disappointed.

We started out with my husband's newfound favorite, the clam cakes. I appreciated the herbiness of the breadcrumbs they were fried in. My husband got the crab roll for his entree, and I did like the bite I was able to sneak of it. I really wanted the lobster roll but that $42 price tag turned me away quickly. Instead I got the fish and chips with pollock for my entree. I am always complaining about portion sizes. Not here, I was only able to finish around 1/3 of it. It is substantial! Not only was it a generous portion, but it was really nicely fried, and I loved the flaky salt on it. My one complaint is the sauces that you pay extra for. I got some piri-piri mayo and garlic aioli. Both of these were absolutely not worth it, grossly lacking in flavor. Don't waste your money on these and stick with ketchup. The staff was friendly, helpful, and as attentive as they could be from inside the food truck. The locale is super cute with a bunch of picnic tables out on a patio. The parking is super limited though so beware. Would definitely recommend!

I could have eaten three of them. We also had the crudo trio, oysters, smoked fish dip and lamb burger and everything was excellent. The lamb burger was rich and flavorful but perfectly balanced by the sweet jam, soft squishy sesame bun and thin, crispy, craggly onion rings. The smoked fish dip came with crisp nori chips that were a little intense on their own for me, but perfect with a big scoop of the creamy, smoky dip. Loved trying the three different crudos and every oyster was delicious. We sat at the bar with a great view of the whole place, great music and attentive service. The drinks came out quick and they were unique and delicious. We asked the waitress about the Yellowfin piri piri and found that there were two different sized orders. The sauce and the tuna was so good we didn't leave a trace of anything on that silver platter. The Crudo was to die for! Fresh fish was amazing and the olive oil was so good it just brings it to the next level. We were were not hungry after these two dishes, but we had to try a dessert with the experience so far. We opted for the cinnamon bun ice cream sandwich. Although it was good, I expected better. The cinnamon bun was a bit dry. The seafood was cooked perfectly, plenty of sauce, and even the corn and potato were out of this world. I ordered the sauce medium and it definitely had a nice kick to it. The garlic noodles had great flavor, a little clumpy but with a little of that captain Loui sauce added on top it fixed the problem. First of all, the restaurant itself is small but very cute, cozy, and full of lovely New England-y Sea-Themed decor. We were promptly seated and had our order taken for our drinks & food - I had heard good things about this place, so I got a decent amount of food items, including: Lobster Roll - Arguably the best lobster roll I've ever had so far in my life. The brioche bun for it was soooo fluffy, soft, and a perfect complement to the big, juicy chunks of lobster that were seasoned and buttered JUST right. Also came with hefty and well-seasoned fries. New England Clam Chowder - Came with salted pork and potatoes in addition to the quahog clams. It was deliciously creamy and soothing to slurp on and the chunks within were all so tender and a great contrast. Clam Cakes - Added them to the Clam Chowder order for an extra $8. Big, hefty, doughy balls that were perfectly fried outside and ooey gooey within. Fish & Chips - Big, hefty fish that was juicy & delicious with a great crunch on the outside! Similarly came with the 'chips', or the hefty, well-seasoned fries that the lobster roll also came with. Oh yeah, pardon me, forgetting to mention the drinks! We ordered the Briny Martini and the Harbor House Punch! The Martini was great for a stronger drink and the Punch was a nice cocktail for anyone preferring something sweeter and fruitier. When it came to the food, service, and dining experience...it couldn't have been better! Everything was incredibly delicious and definitely worth ordering. This memorable experience then reached exceptional circumstances, however, as while we were in the middle of dining here and enjoying our delicious food, there was a shooting occurring just up the street at Brown University. Atmosphere: cute outdoor seating area for summer nights. The inside has cool decor (including a…read morebathroom that apparently won an award??), but is very small and cramped. The upper 'porch' like area looks really fun, but the table we were seated at was so close to the other tables I was uncomfortable. I get that we're in a city, but I value my personal space and privacy and felt like the whole restaurant could hear my every word - ick. Service: our server seemed annoyed that I didn't want an alcoholic drink, and was not very helpful. Half of the menu is not in English (very chaotic how some portions are in English and others are not, it doesn't seem consistent), so we had some questions, such as "what does x taste like?" and the only response we got was "not too sweet"....okay, but what DOES it taste like? She spoke very fast and I couldn't understand her listing off the specials, even though she didn't really have an accent. She left partway through while we were there so I guess she was just at the end of her shift and checked out, but it was so offputting how rude and unhelpful she was. When our servers transitioned, we offered to cash out then since we weren't getting anything else and wanted the original server to get her tips, but she started joking around that we didn't have to do that - which I appreciate, but we actually did want to get going and get cashed out, but she refused to give us our check. I asked three times and she still wouldn't 'let us do that'...very weird. Food: there were not a ton of vegetarian options that appealed to me. I went a little overboard on plantains by accident, which is my mistake. I first ordered the Rellenitos with cilantro crema sauce, which were very good and a flavor combination I wasn't expecting. The dough to filling ratio was a little off and they were pretty dry inside, so I needed a lot of the sauce. An order only came with 2 and I wish it was more. I'm glad I ordered something else - Tula Fries, which came with the same exact cilantro creme sauce as the Rellenitos, even though they are described differently on the menu, which felt lazy to repeat a sauce. The sauce didn't go well with them at all in my opinion so I did not enjoy these as much as I would've liked. My friend enjoyed her drink, but thought almost all of the meat on her meat and cheese board was either low quality or close to going bad. It was priced reasonably, which we were shocked by, but she couldn't eat a good portion of it sadly. We did really enjoy the baked flava bean snack that was a part of it. The board weirdly came with just half of one small, half rotten strawberry that looked terrible - it would've been better to leave it off. Towards the end of the night, there was so much water on the floor in the hallway that goes to the bathroom and passes the kitchen - I had to walk through it to go to the bathroom, which felt like a safety hazard. My friend was on crutches and wouldn't even try to get over there since we knew she'd slip on all the water. It just looked terrible and was dangerous, so not sure what we going on that there was such a water issue there. Their specialties and more meat based dishes are probably great, but there just aren't a ton of things for me to eat here. I'd be willing to try it again for drinks and apps if the service wasn't so unwelcoming.
