There, our server Teresa greeted us and told us about the specials and some items she recommended. My wife ordered the Tequila Doli cocktail and Amaretto Apple Cider. I kept it basic with a draft beer. We also ordered deviled eggs because why not? Our drinks and deviled eggs were served promptly, and after a few pics, we dove right in. The deviled eggs tasted great and I ended up ordering another round of them. The cocktails did not disappoint. According to the menu, the Tequila Doli contains Lunazul Blanco Tequila, & Pineapple fermented topped with a Pineapple Slice. The ingredients paired well and the drink left my wife wide-eyed with amazement after the first sip. I also had a sip and thought it tasted great. I also loved it's simple but beautiful presentation with the sliced pineapple sitting atop of the foam. The Apple Cider Amaretto was dangerously delicious due to how sweet and smooth it was. I see myself ordering a few when we return. For the entrees, we went with Teresa's recommendations on the scallops and short ribs. The scallops were served on pumpkin risotto, butternut squash, and topped with stracciatella cheese and pesto. They were seared to perfection and had a soft, buttery texture inside. The pumpkin risotto and butternut squash all worked well and we found the food delightful. The short ribs were the item that stole my heart. They were presented with a nice bark and served over delicious mashed potatoes with a side of fresh green beans. The ribs were cooked perfectly as they were fork-tender, and savory. The green beans were fresh and had a nice "snap" to them. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Mare Rooftop. Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperative or ideal for outdoor dining and drinks. But as discussed with our server, we're already planning our return in August!

I just wasn't a huge fan of the rice pilaf, it tasted more like very lightly seasoned rice and not pilaf. I'd definitely go back and get lettuce and fries as my base or get a falafel wrap. Just crushed tomatoes spread across the dough with sliced garlic, herbs, olive oil, and a little grated cheese working quietly underneath. The sauce is bright and fresh. Slightly sweet. Tomato first, then garlic, then olive oil settling into everything. Each slice bends when you lift it. The rim holds. Exactly what you expect from a fast bake in a very hot oven. Simple food. When I am stumped about where to take a guest or guests, I never go wrong with this place--it's so close to me as well. It is one of Warwick's best-kept secrets. First, their dinner-for-two with a bottle of wine lives on, though I no longer enjoy the revamped menu, and the price has gone up. It's just better for me to order off the regular menu now. For starters, they have warm bread, roasted garlic that is so soft and moist to spread on the bread, olive oil, vinaigrette, and parmesan to par if you fancy. Their dishes are filling, and the dessert choices are ample. As a rule, I do not eat dessert after a meal, but here, that rule is kaput. So worth it. They also always give you complimentary limoncello shots. On my most recent visit, we ordered the Mediterranean Calamari for starters, the generous Seafood Pescatore, Pan Seared Black Bass, enjoyed with Meiomi Pinot Noir, and for dessert, something special that I cannot recall.
