I've eaten here twice now and both times I've really enjoyed it. I ordered the beef & lamb gyro wrap and the meat was very tender, not dry at all and it was a very generous portion size. My husband likes to get the gyro plate as it's served with a side of hummus, rice and small salad. It doesn't come with a pita so be sure to add it on if you like to make your own wrap! This is what was served to me as tabbouleh. You be the judge. (Less than a teaspoon of grain and essentially nothing else except lettuce.) They warn you in advance (with a sign) about a credit card fee, but it is still annoying to be charged almost $2 to use a credit card. Such a gem in Barrington! The owner is fabulous and he and his wife make everything and you'll know how special that is with your first bite. Their falafel is amazing, fresh and loaded with fresh herbs and the texture is great. Their gyro is also delicious whether you get the plate or the wrap it's full of flavor and not at all greasy. Even their fries have a beautiful spice mix on top that they blend. Aside from the food, the owner is so sweet and I really enjoy visiting him when we go grab a bite to eat. Amazing service!!! The owner is a delight he took my daughters behind the counter to make their own Bubble Tea. He also let them pick out a a bag of chips for free. What a great place to find in Barrington. The food was fresh (so much romaine on the salad), the prices were great, and the service was amazing. The spot is family owned, and the food is homemade. I can't say enough great things about the owners and his family. From the iskender iteration to the falafel to the borek, all were amazing. The sauces, the bread, and the dolma. I loved it all. I can't wait to visit again next time I am in town. Such a great spot with very friendly people who will go out of their way to please you with their creations. I got the Mediterranean plate which had hummus, falafel, tzatziki, tabouli and Dolmas. The flavors are FANTASTIC. I only got two tiny falafels so I would order extra next time. They were the bomb, by the way. You can tell they were homemade. The tabouli was absolutely fresh, fantastic, and a little spicy, which is fantastic. Oh, did I say fantastic three times in the same review? Yes I did. The tzatziki has chunks of fresh cucumber, onion and delicious dill. I thought they gave me too much, but they did not, as I'm actually just eating the extra tzatziki all by itself. YUM. Do not be worried if somehow the description seems to lack greens, because it's loaded with super fresh romaine and of course the tabouli. I've had tabouli before where they leave stems in which, having made it myself, it's just lazy and who eats a stem? Not here. All great greens. I wish the baklava was larger. I've had the walnut which is a tube, and both tubes were surprisingly empty. The pastry itself had the remains of some walnuts but I would never get that again. I'll be trying the pistachio today. Oh, it was awful, wet and mushy. Unfortunately I've also made that myself and there are ways to keep it from being this way. It's very hard to sell. If by some chance they improve on this I will adjust my review. So absolutely pleased to have something like this on the east bay, and I'll be recommending it far and wide, And returning repeatedly. read more

My review has disappeared. I left them a bad review and today, I am reminded why. I mentioned the platter which I watched someone prepare as he placed each of 4 or 5 little pieces of lettice on the plate, and took dry, cold chicken out of a warmer and how awful it was. I have tried a couple sandwiches, and I think I'm done. Today's chinken falafel sandwich for $14 was the last thing I plan to eat there. I wanted meat cut off the kebabs and was told the chicken and the beef were very fresh. I asked for the sandwich no onions. I watched the server getting the chicken and the falafel out of holding trays. I took my sandwich in my car, and found dry, hard chicken and hard, oil filled falaffel, and.... onions. I think this is my 4th time there. Room temperature, hard, dry chicken from a holding pan with assuridness that it is very fresh. Hard greasy falafel. Never seen them cut meat off the kebabs. This is my favorite restaurant ever! All of the food and baklava is homemade and always so fresh and seasoned so well, soooo tasty! My favorite is the chicken gyro wrap (I add their seasoned fries inside) and pistachio baklava, it's so delicious I would eat it everyday if I could. I order it at least once a week! And they give amazing big portions. I recently got back from Greece and I've searched the whole state for Mediterranean food that tastes authentic and this is the absolute best place I've found by very far, everything tastes just like I'm in Greece again! 1) put in the order thru DoorDash, arrived 20min later and our 6 sandwiches weren't ready. The 2 guys spent 15additional minutes pulling everything together saying that they didn't get the DoorDash order until 10min before we arrived. I'm inclined to think they just didn't see it, but there was NO ONE else there. 2) meatball sub...was some unidentifiable mush meat covered in cheese with no sauce. 3) chicken was dry for the chicken gyro 4) steak bomb bombed, same mush meat with way too much cheese 5) beef and lamb gyro wrap...no idea what that was. Very mushy meat, not at all "fresh", hot spicy with little flavor. 6) 2 hummus salad wraps and the hummus had no flavor Very disappointed. Had the chicken wrap and gyro plate. The hummus was bland and chunky and the tzatziki was watery with odd cheese curd like pieces. The chicken was barely seasoned and honesty a bit rubbery. The gyro was fine in terms of salt but was not better than a those you can find in your supermarket freezer. Lastly the baklava soggy, hallow, and a bit gray (like a sad caterpillar ).
