    Walnut and pistachio baklava
    Robert G.

I've had baklava from Aleppo Sweets before but it was during a collaboration with Like No Udder. I've never actually been in their brick and mortar until now and it is very nice inside. I went in to pick up an online order and was surprised by how big it was inside. Every table was taken and it was extremely busy which is a good sign. The gentleman who waited on me was very friendly and helpful. I wasn't aware that they had a full menu of food, I thought it was only a bakery with delicious baklava. I'll need to visit again soon and sit down for some tea and a savory dish.

Rating 4.3 Came to try some of their desert menu due yo recommendation by a friend. It's located in providence and it's a bit hard to find as the place looks like an old house and sign is small and hard to see unless you are close. Inside is pretty and nicely decorated with dim lighting and middle eastern background music. Smaller place but have some small seatings and a counter here you place an order. The place has food as well but we came for desert and drinks. We ordered a box of baklava assortment of 4 including chocolate pistachio, classic, lady finger, and stuffed walnut. We also got Turkish coffee with milk and Black berry drink. All of the baklavas were good but my personal favorite was chocolate. Ladyfinger was also nice and smooth. It was distinctively less sweet which was interesting. I was not too crazy about the black berry drink as it kind of tasted like an artificial berry syrup. Turkish coffee was good and paired well with the sweets. Service was good and relatively quick. Overall it's a good soot for drink and sweets that are unique. I'm interested in coming back to try their food menu as well.

The food, the service and the ambiance is always amazing. This is one of my top 5 restaurants to come to. I enjoy bringing my family here. My favorites are the lamb and chicken kebab with labneh. The hibiscus tea is very good. And a baklava to go.

This is a 45 minute drive for me and it's worth it. The service is always great and the food is even better .

Let me start by saying that the food was absolutely delicious and stunningly beautiful - a true feast for all the senses. The reason for the 3 stars was the confusing service model and unhelpful staff. I didn't realize that it was a counter service restaurant and apparently you are supposed to get a table before you order?? I still don't know! When I asked for clarification/direction from the staff, they seemed annoyed and the man who took my order brusquely escorted me to a table in their outdoor alley space where it was shady and cold. The chicken kabob and cheese fatayer were outstanding. I might go back to try some of the other menu items but would probably just get take-out.

The food and ambiance are awesome! The service is not the best but the food more than makes up for it. Not pictured but the Chicken shawarma is the best I've ever had.

I came back to try their food on a Wednesday evening. At first, there was no other groups but then people starting to come in. We first grabbed menus and sat at a table to decide what we wanted to order. After deciding, we went to the counter to order and was given a table number. We had their Chicken Shawarma Wrap, Fatayer Cheese, Fatayer Pepper & Lamb, Iced Hibiscus Tea, and Iced Blackberry Drink. It was our first time having fatayer which is softly baked bread, served as a flatbread or pinched into the shape of a 'boat' and filled with toppings. It tasted like a mini pizza. The Chicken Shawarma wrap had flavorful marinated chicken and the wrap was crispy. I liked the little pickles that came with it as well. For the drinks, I really liked the blackberry drink. It was sweet. Inside is cozy and the tabletop water fountain was very calming. Service was great as always.

This place was recommended through a foodie friend. I came here yesterday with my family. It was such a charming restaurant - perfect spot for a rainy day. You order at the counter and then choose a somewhere to sit. We came here around 4pm and it wasn't too busy but by about 7pm it started to. We ordered some Turkish coffee and some baba ganoush and hummus to share- we felt for something light to have till dinner time. I'm not usually a fan of baba ganoush, something about the texture, so I usually go for hummus BUT I always like to try things again in case I develop a liking for it and I will say, THIS baba ganoush is one of the best ones I've ever had. It was so creamy and smokey and just the right texture *for me*. I ended up having more than I said I would. We ordered some of their famous baklava to take home and they were delectable. The next time I'm back in Providence I definitely have to come back here and try their kabobs and wraps from how good it looked when the servers brought them out to other tables.

The inside is really pretty, and I'd definitely go back to hang out there. They have some board games you can play. I had the chicken shawarma and baklava with chocolate pistachio. It's my favorite cafe in RI; it's super cute, and the food is reasonable. The service is great. You can refill your water, and you bring your plates back yourself

Nice food but awkward service They give you menu when you sit down but you have to get up and order/ pay at the counter which is weird in my opinion Ambiance was nice but I won't be dinning in maybe order to go in the future

I've only ever gotten the Baklava at Aleppo Sweets and it's very good. It's definitely an authentic Syrian restaurant with a full lunch, dinner, and coffee menu as well, I just haven't happened to stop in for a meal yet. It's generally very busy and you wait in line to order at the counter. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and always feels warm and inviting. Most recently I got a box of 12 Baklava with half chocolate, half pistachio. Both were very good, but the chocolate ones really hit the spot for a dense nutty experience that also fulfilled a chocolate craving. I'd come in with the intention of getting some vegan Baklava for my mostly vegan parents, but they were out just after noon. I don't know if it's best to call ahead for such things, or I was just too late in the day. Regardless, it was enjoyed by me and my parents.

I absolutely LOVE coming here. The food is the best, especially the homemade baklava. Today I told the owner that if i had time i would sit with a pot of their DELICIOUS hot cordamon tea. He says, "Ill pour you a cup" to which i responded, "Oh you dont have to do that." His reply, "Please, it is my gift to you." So sweet. Aleppo SweetS!

They have good baklava but a little overpriced in my opinion. There are other places in the same area that are cheaper and taste the same.

I later found out it was actually grub hub by a text message and I contacted them. Insomnia cookies had the original charge cancelled and remade and delivered my order. I believe the original Order was located and redelivered or dropped off by the person they were mistakenly sent to as Several boxes arrived with my name on them. The cookies were moist, warm, and everyone raved about them! It was a wonderful way to say goodbye to an excellent nurse. A huge thank you to the staff at insomnia cookies for assisting with and rectifying a second party delivery issue (from now on we will exclusively use delivery from you only). There are tables and benches in the complex nearby. While the vibe was relaxed/nice, I just picked things out from the fridge to-go. A small note: I'm kind of pretty picky about baked sweets. Along with ice cream, they have cakes and cookies, and milk of the chocolate or coffee variety. I got a cow cake (no photo since I forgot), Valentine's Day cookie, and coffee milk to take home. The cow cake was good! Not too sweet, but could maybe could taste a little more chocolate. It had a creamy taste to it. The Valentine's Day cookie was really, really pretty and is more of a treat for the eyes. It's a sugar cookie, so yeah it's sweet, and was mostly buttercream (I believe it was buttercream but correct me if I'm wrong) than cookie. The coffee milk was pretty sweet, but yummy, which is surprising because I don't like coffee milk that much (sorry RI). But I would get Wright's coffee milk again. The pricing was roughly $7 for a cake slice (a box of cake really), $5 for cookie, $2 for coffee milk. I thought it was fair pricing! Overall, it's really nice having a creamery here and I would recommend coming here if you're looking to treat yourself or needing cake and/or ice cream!
