Amazing service and the food. Everything is well priced. My favorite place to go. Friday and Saturday nights are super packed with Providence College students. The weekdays are easier to get a table or bar seat. I love all the burgers, wings, hot dogs and shakes (Boozy or regular). Cons: I basically love everything on the menu EXCEPT the crinkle fries and the taco salad. (The crinkle fires I never liked but I am starting to see them more in some bars. They seem to not as crunchy as the regular fries and hold more grease including being more mushy then crunchy as mentioned before. The taco is like a Salsa salad which greens and Salsa. The taste is not bad but it becomes a wet salad). Pros: Everything else on the menu fantastic! My favorites: Turkey burger , mushroom burger, providence burger bar special, chili cheese hot dog, fried Mac and cheese, Strawberry Shake with a frozen fruit INCLUDING the Garlic Parmesan Buffalo wings. drove up from Franklin. Ma cuz I love a good burger. My brother and nephew accompanied me. My brother had the saugys, I was tempted cuz I love saugys, but gents, those were NOT saugys. Those were regular hot dogs being passed as RI saugy's.. Saugy's have a natural casing, similar to an italian sausage. It should crunch when you chomp into it The burgers were very tasty. What a cute place to grab a burger and some onion rings in Providence! I ordered the PBB All The Way with a side onion rings. The burger was juicy and the onion rings were crispy with that crunch! That fried food onion ring crunch! The only picky thing I can say about the burger is that the buns didn't hold the burger together! But hey, what do you expect when you are eating a yummy burger with all the fixing! Parking is available in the back of the restaurant, so that is always a plus! The pictures, should say it all. I decided to try this place because of the pictures. The place looked nice from the outside. Nice staff. The fries were over cooked. You could taste the burned oil. The burger had absolutely no flavor. Like zero. The meat had zero taste, but frozen. I packed it with egg, avocado and bacon. The best thing was the avocado. I had a friend visiting her family in RI for Thanksgiving and we were so done with leftovers so we needed something different, and drinks of course, to catch up! We decided on Providence Burger Bar because it was midway between the two of us and we saw their $2 happy hour specials. We got there at 5:15 and quickly ordered the chips & salsa, friend pickles (mmm) and fried mac n cheese. For $2 each I was very impressed with the portions! We went here on Friday for dinner. At 5 pm there were probably about 1/3 of the tables full. The place is cozy and very clean. Lots of TVs around to watch sports. The food menu lacks a lot of variety but offers good happy hour specials. Lots of apps available for $2 or $3. We ordered two burgers and Mac and cheese bites. The mac and cheese bites were interesting. We both agreed that one was good but after that it was too much. The burgers were well cooked but on the small side. The fries were also well cooked but tasted like something out of the freezer aisle. Overall, nothing was awful and nothing wowed us. I would be okay if a friend wanted to go here but it's not a place I will seek to return to given the many other great options in the area. read more

If there is anything that will make me never return, it is programming the cash register to charge more than the menu price. I ordered a double burger priced at $7.99 on the menu and received a bill for $8.94 plus tax. When I asked, the server at first said it was because it was a double. I pointed out that the price of a double was explicitly on the menu, which led to a conference behind the bar between the only two front-of-house staff members, reviewing the menu for several minutes. Eventually my check was corrected with a $0.95 "open discount," but most customers would likely never have noticed and this kind of dishonesty greatly annoys me. It didn't help that the Sunday brunch menu is very limited. All of the egg platters come with a choice of sausage or bacon, but there are no non-pork alternatives (such as turkey) and no item substitutions were available when i asked. The result would have been that I would have had to pay for pork sausage or bacon despite having it removed from the plate, so these would have been unfairly priced to me. The music was so loud when we were the only party present at 10:00am when they opened that we could not hear ourselves talk to each other, so we asked that it be turned down. Although they did lower the volume, as soon as more people began to arrive they turned it back up. Because I didn't order any appetizers and others in my party did, I ended up sitting without food for a considerable length of time. Had I realized how they were going to stagger the service, I would have asked that my meal be brought out earlier, but this option was never offered. As the restaurant got busy by about 11:00am for the Sunday brunch, the two lone servers were overwhelmed and it became difficult to get their attention. I finally had to resort to getting up from the table and going to the bar to pay my bill. This is really a drinking rather than eating establishment, and I was not interested in drinking on a Sunday morning. Most of the menu is bar food, such as appetizers to be eaten while drinking. If that's what you're looking for, it might be a decent option. It's really a student bar for Providence College, and if that's not your crowd it can be fairly unpleasant. The burger I ordered was actually pretty good, so it was especially disappointing that the price on the check did not match the price on the menu. read more

I would have given them a five but my burger wasn't kind of pink like I like it. I ordered a burger with onion and it came with lettuce tomato and it was really really good! And it came with french fries which I didn't know it was coming with. I dined on a Sunday night and would like to give them the benefit of the doubt, but this meal was nothing but a glorified cafeteria meal. The menu looked quite appealing with mac n cheese bites, Pat Lefreida hot dogs, and a nice burger selection. I had been craving a good burger and the discovery of this burger bar drew my attention. If you are 21, 22, 23- be careful of coming here. The manager makes claims that your ID is fake even when it is real and will keep it. They do not have a scanner and she feels that a flashlight shows if it's fake but a lot of IDs are old and don't have all the updated emblems and codes. It's a shame because the atmosphere, food and drinks are all so good. So excited to have more restaurant options over in this part of the city, we were seriously lacking. We've stopped in twice recently and we were pleased with our meals on both occasions. Both times I've had the Lone Star Burger and both times it was delicious! I loved the large crunchy onion rings and there was enough pulled pork on it to know it was there but it didn't take over the burger. On our first visit we noted that the fries and mac and cheese bites were heavily salted but on our second visit we didn't have that issue with the fried pickles or the fries that time so maybe someone just got a little heavy handed with the salt the first time. My husband has tried the Diner burger and the cheese steak, the cheese steak was pretty big, was much larger then he anticipated. He enjoyed them both but the burger was his favorite, he really liked the gravy. So much so that on our second visit he upgraded his fries to the canadian poutine fries. They've got a good beer menu and the prices are reasonable, can't go wrong with $2 gansetts! They also have boozy milkshakes which is not something I usually order but the PBB Coffee Cabinet sounded good. We both got one and it was really, really good. I might try the nutella smore one next time. Neither time did we have to wait for a table but I'm sure as word gets around, especially with all the students living near by, it might get crowded on the weekends or if a big game is on. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Food comes out fast and hot. Besides the many seats around the bar there are high top and low top tables, I'm short so I'm always happy to see low tables available. There are plenty of tvs for all your sport watching needs. This place is a great new addition to smith hill! It's like all the best aspects of a sport's bar, combined with excellent food, and friendly staff. I was very impressed with how contemporary the decor was. This place is owned and managed by the Atwells' group; so with that, you can expect some kind of cleanliness and a high standard. Food was a good! Very , very oily; but, that's to be expected. They had a decent number of burger options and I'm sure they were fine. But they literally named them so genetically. With a place named "providence burger bar" they could have named their signature burgers after people/places in providence. Like rather than have a cowboy burger, name it something unique to Providence like "the Blackstone burger" or something, idk.. it just seems like they didn't put much effort into the menu. Went with a group of friends. 1 ordered fried Mac and cheese, terrible pick if you have hypertension or don't want high blood pressure please refrain from ordering. Super, super, salty fried Mac and cheese. You can even see the salt crystals. When we tried to return the item waitress gave us attitude about our request. Parmesan wings were super gooey although we asked for well done wings. When we asked to make it more crispy when it came back it looked good, but instantly as you take a bite tasted overly salty. It seems as thou the restaurant is heavy on the salt in a way to season their food but they failed. Salt isn't what you need only to flavor food.
