    Onion Rings

What a cute place to grab a burger and some onion rings in Providence! I ordered the PBB All The Way with a side onion rings. The burger was juicy and the onion rings were crispy with that crunch! That fried food onion ring crunch! The only picky thing I can say about the burger is that the buns didn't hold the burger together! But hey, what do you expect when you are eating a yummy burger with all the fixing! Parking is available in the back of the restaurant, so that is always a plus! Customer service was great!

The pictures, should say it all. I decided to try this place because of the pictures. The place looked nice from the outside. Nice staff. The fries were over cooked. You could taste the burned oil. The burger had absolutely no flavor. Like zero. The meat had zero taste, but frozen. I packed it with egg, avocado and bacon. The best thing was the avocado. The bacon was cheap and thin, if it cooked longer would have been see through. versus reality. FAIL

Went here on 12/23/19 with my Wife and had a couple of Burgers and Beers .....I found the Burgers and fries to be tasty. The service was good and the ambiance was nice! It was a solid 4 stars ......We also had the fried pickles for $7 and that I would NOT recommend! Overall it's worth a visit......

I had a friend visiting her family in RI for Thanksgiving and we were so done with leftovers so we needed something different, and drinks of course, to catch up! We decided on Providence Burger Bar because it was midway between the two of us and we saw their $2 happy hour specials. We got there at 5:15 and quickly ordered the chips & salsa, friend pickles (mmm) and fried mac n cheese. For $2 each I was very impressed with the portions! My friend said he dirty martini was perfect and our cosmos were the best I'd had in a while. Zach was a great bartender and Danielle was great too! I will definitely be a repeat customer soon!

Great atmosphere. I had the Buffalo Burger with Chili Cheese Fries and they were amazing. The wife had the lean Pilgrim. It was a Turkey burger and Sweet Potato waffle fries. I definitely say if you want an amazing burger and sides, head down here and don't forget the ice cold beer.

Providence Burger Bar, where they are more interested in the game, hanging out, and the beer. I dined on a Sunday night and would like to give them the benefit of the doubt, but this meal was nothing but a glorified cafeteria meal. The menu looked quite appealing with mac n cheese bites, Pat Lefreida hot dogs, and a nice burger selection. I had been craving a good burger and the discovery of this burger bar drew my attention. Appetizers came out and as they say, your eyes eat first. I was very disappointed. Frozen mac n cheese bites and jalapeño poppers. When the burgers came out they look pretty good and I can say that they were better than the appetizers. The burger was quite greasy though and well done as well. I ordered a fried egg on my burger and it was very over cooked. The egg even had a little crunch to it, something I was not looking for when I ordered it.

Wings were good and so were the burgers. I forgot to take a picture of the burger but it was very flavorful. My mom got a milkshake with malt and said it was one of the best shakes she'd ever had.

The whole experience was just average. We started with the Fried Mozzarella which were overcooked, and the sauce was awkward. Then both burgers were just average. From the Shroomtastic to the French Onion burger, neither of them was all that great. The Onion Rings on the side were also overcooked. At least the service was good.

I've eaten my way through quite a few things here over the years, and while there are plenty of good choices, I keep coming back to the Smokey and the Bandit smash burger. At this point, I probably know what I'm ordering before I even sit down. There's just something about that combination that keeps winning. The food here is consistently good. Everything I've had has been fresh, hot, and full of flavor, and the kitchen seems to have that part figured out without making a big production of it. The menu has enough variety that you can come in with different appetites and still find something you want, but it doesn't feel like one of those places with a menu the size of a small novel where you need twenty minutes just to decide what you're looking at. The beer selection is another reason I enjoy Chomp. There's enough variety to make choosing a beer part of the experience rather than simply grabbing whatever happens to be on tap. Prices are also pretty reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, which is increasingly something I notice because restaurant prices have a funny way of creeping upward when you're not paying attention. The location is another part of the appeal. Chomp sits in a great little part of Providence where you can easily make an evening out of being in the neighborhood. There are plenty of other restaurants, shops, and places to wander around nearby, so it doesn't feel like you're making a special trip just to eat and then immediately getting back in the car. Tonight, though, I have to give a special shout-out to Bella, who was our server. She was outstanding. Friendly, personable, attentive without hovering, and genuinely helpful. She suggested adding bacon to my Smokey and the Bandit, which I probably wouldn't have thought to do on my own. I'm very glad she mentioned it because it was an excellent call. Sometimes the best recommendations are the simple ones, and she nailed it. One piece of advice if you're planning on coming here: make a reservation if you can. Chomp can fill up quickly, and given how good the food is, that really shouldn't come as much of a surprise. It's the kind of restaurant where people come back because they already know they're going to have a good meal, and I'm certainly part of that group. Five stars from me. Great food, good beer, reasonable prices, a fantastic Providence location, and genuinely good service. I've tried enough of the menu over the years to know that Chomp has plenty of options, but apparently I'm still incapable of walking through the door without ordering that Smokey and the Bandit. Add Bella's bacon recommendation to the list of reasons I'm going to keep coming back.

We both ordered the Classic Smash Burger, one with cheese and one without. Unfortunately, both burgers were utterly tasteless, with virtually no seasoning detected at all. The Chomp Sauce that was supposed to elevate the burger was so sparse it barely made an appearance, leaving the burgers bland. Honestly, the bun was the best part. The brussel sprouts I ordered also lacked flavor and seasoning aside from the char, and his Cajun fries were so salty they were nearly inedible. After driving from Massachusetts to Rhode Island as a special Mother's Day treat, it ended up being a very disappointing experience, especially given the overwhelmingly positive reviews. We may have caught them on an unusually busy night, but unfortunately our meals fell far short of our expectations.

The women's restroom was designated as gender-neutral, which made me uncomfortable. After that, we ordered a round of drinks. The bartender was friendly, though you could tell he was a little stressed. We then tried a few vegan sandwiches, but I couldn't figure out why the fries weren't automatically included. I mean, when you're ordering a vegan meal, I assumed fries would come as a standard side. The portion sizes for two were also a bit disappointing. The sandwiches themselves were tasty, but the burger was kind of lost under an overwhelming amount of sauce--even though I'll admit, the sauce was pretty satisfying on its own. On the upside, the view outside really saved the day. I loved seeing the water across the street and having a nice little path to walk along.

Serving veganized versions of traditional pub fare, the food is excellent. I was especially pleased with the buffalo cauliflower bites. The breading was legit (and kind of reminded me of getting fried seafood by the sea as a kid). This was robust, crunchy, and flavorful - a far cry from the barely-covered-in-panko stuff I have gotten at other places. I had the Philly "cheesesteak," which was a tasty sandwich that really did riff on the old classic. My husband did a lettuce-wrapped truffle burger, and that might be the only place that I paused because absent the bun, you can see just how little the serving is. They also have sushi from the Make Out available, and I did a tomato tuna nigiri that was tops. I want to come back just for the sushi. The service was a little slow, but our server made a point to apologize thank us for our patience. She was just really busy, but she was also very upbeat and cognizant of making people wait. I don't often encounter many servers like that - she seemed to be legitimately happy to be there. They have a great beer selection, including plenty of draft, and they also have wine and cocktails available. It was good enough that we made plans to return before we leave town, and I know it will be a stop when we come back. Probably the first one!

First of all, the restaurant itself is small but very cute, cozy, and full of lovely New England-y Sea-Themed decor. We were promptly seated and had our order taken for our drinks & food - I had heard good things about this place, so I got a decent amount of food items, including: Lobster Roll - Arguably the best lobster roll I've ever had so far in my life. The brioche bun for it was soooo fluffy, soft, and a perfect complement to the big, juicy chunks of lobster that were seasoned and buttered JUST right. Also came with hefty and well-seasoned fries. New England Clam Chowder - Came with salted pork and potatoes in addition to the quahog clams. It was deliciously creamy and soothing to slurp on and the chunks within were all so tender and a great contrast. Clam Cakes - Added them to the Clam Chowder order for an extra $8. Big, hefty, doughy balls that were perfectly fried outside and ooey gooey within. Fish & Chips - Big, hefty fish that was juicy & delicious with a great crunch on the outside! Similarly came with the 'chips', or the hefty, well-seasoned fries that the lobster roll also came with. Oh yeah, pardon me, forgetting to mention the drinks! We ordered the Briny Martini and the Harbor House Punch! The Martini was great for a stronger drink and the Punch was a nice cocktail for anyone preferring something sweeter and fruitier. When it came to the food, service, and dining experience...it couldn't have been better! Everything was incredibly delicious and definitely worth ordering. This memorable experience then reached exceptional circumstances, however, as while we were in the middle of dining here and enjoying our delicious food, there was a shooting occurring just up the street at Brown University. I wish to commend the staff at Dune Brothers, who looked out for mine and their other patrons' safety and sheltering us in their restaurant as we all nervously waited for more information on what exactly was going on that evening. Exceptional circumstances aside, this restaurant is also exceptional when it comes to the quality of their food and service. I highly recommend coming here if you're in Providence!
