Honestly, I don't typically write reviews. As a bartender I try to keep it neutral and I understand that people have good and bad days and figure people should typically judge an establishment based off of their own experiences. That being said, I'm a local and I was truly blown away by my experience sooo I just couldn't help myself. They've added an outdoor patio area where there was great live music and table service. Our server, I totally forgot her name (sorry! It was Friday 7/23), was friendly and communicative, food was delicious (I recommend the house made stuffie and truffle fries), music was awesome, and last but definitely not least MY OLD FASHIONED (..and if you're a bourbon drinker you understand the struggle..) it was PERFECT!!! Have been there a few times since the new ownership took over. Last night was the latest. Food has never disappointed. Pub food but fresh and made right. Very good portions and reasonably priced. Drinks are very good. I had a margarita and my wife had the red sangria. Both very delicious. The only issue I had was only two servers on and they both worked the bar as well. We were sat in the back dining area and although our server was mostly attentive we were in need of refills on drinks for extended periods of time. But overall we had an enjoyable experience and definitely will be back. read more

The stadium burger is the best burger I have had since I moved to RI. The stuffies are fantastic too. I wouldn't think a bar like this would have such fantastic food. I am going to try the salmon tacos next. Get the truffle fries, they are worth the upcharge. This is definitely the best bar in the area. read more

A really nice neighborhood pub! I can't say enough about the food here! Fresh in house ground burgers, homemade dressings, delicious sandwiches with a nice variety of beers on tap. Teds is a great place to come and hang at the bar or bring the whole family and grab a table in the back. Would highly recommend checking them out! read more

Trying I'd like to give this place a better rating because I met the owners and they are very nice people. They have really cleaned this place up and made it very inviting. Good beer selection and a nice simple menu. However, we've been here a few times and it seems to me that the chef might be trying a little too hard sometimes. My advice is keep it simple. We popped in here pre covid as we had friends who kept saying how great it is. This place is a dive bar with the atmosphere to go with it. There were many regulars there but the bartender greeted us right away and took care of us while engaging in witty banter with them. We had burgers and fries and they were both delicious. Grilled and definitely not frozen. Prices were very reasonable too. It a great spot to grab a beer or a bite. You won't be disappointed. Highly recommend read more

I had my husband's surprise 40th birthday at Ted's last night and all I can say is it will be a night to remember! From the food, music, set up and wonderful owner everything was perfect. We had over 70 people and I did not hear a bad critique from anyone. I did hear people saying they wanted to come back again! Ted made an awesome spread of heavy appetizers for our party...chicken satay, steak tostada, salmon cakes, shrimp cocktail, quesadillas, caprese skewers, gorgeous charcuterie board...plus more and all delicious. We had a few kids as well, and he even did a kid friendly buffet that was perfect for them. And I was told the homemade meatballs were better than mine lol! The other great part was I actually got to enjoy the party that I had spent months waiting for! I have been to Ted's quite a few times and have to say their food, service and atmosphere are terrific. Of course no place is 100% perfect, but the review from VF was off and uncalled for. I think it would be very easy to look & see the place was packed with only 2 waitresses working very hard to help everyone. Sometimes circumstances might affect quick service. Well you can't please some people no matter what you do. Anyhow I highly recommend Ted's. The food is great. I can't give a review of the drinks as I don't drink alcohol. Plenty of parking, keno and a comfortable bar stool. The food was great. I ordered the burger, and it was cooked to perfection. It was a very large burger, needing a fork to eat. Fries were nicely crisped. The salad was the small one, but they give you a lot. The potato skins were hearty, large and cooked perfectly. I was pleasantly surprised by the food. The biggest surprise of all was the neat, clean and attractive bathroom. Touch-less paper towels and touch-less trash. The restaurant was a bit loud, but it is a pub, so to be expected. Looks can be deceiving! Ted's appears to be a small, local bar (not that there is anything wrong with that!) Once you walk thru the door, however, it's a different story. We were going to hear my nephew play in the lounge, but went early to grab some dinner after reading the reviews. What a great little find! The owner, Julie, greeted us immediately and allowed us to choose our table in the dining room, since it wasn't busy. It is painted and decorated so nicely, with warm colors and seasonal accents. There are a variety of seating choices, including corner booths (perfect for larger parties), intimate tables and high tops. The room is available for small functions as well. Julie also let us know that everything is cooked from scratch and made to order. They even grind their own beef. Ted does the cooking. The couple bought the place three years ago. Formerly, it had been a bar for many decades and apparently required a lot of updates and TLC, which they clearly delivered. The menu was great and there were a few specials, too. I ordered a seafood stuffy as an app and the swordfish special (I got the last piece!) My date ordered the ravioli, which came with a nice salad. The food took a little bit, but we didn't mind, knowing that it was being cooked to order. Our meals were very good. The stuffy was amazing with lots of seafood and flavor.My fish was a nice sized portion of all white fish steak, topped with a buttery herb concoction and sitting atop garlic mashed potatoes. The broccoli was cooked just right. The ravioli looked good and got high marks, too. The sauce was thick and tasty. After dinner, we adjourned to the bar. It's a good sized bar with lots of room and the chairs have backs, which is comfortable. The bartender was friendly, too. We'll definitely visit again. read more

Really disappointed. Came here during RI Food Fights to try it out. Walked in, sat ourselves, and didn't get menus for 10 minutes. Then after looking at the menu and deciding on our sandwich of choice we were told that only one sandwich (which wasn't of their normal menu) was part of the food fights promotion. So we ordered the only option we could and then proceeded to wait 30 minutes for the food to come out. It was a Monday night, the restaurant wasn't busy, but they appeared to be unorganized and understaffed. I don't own a restaurant, but if I did, I would use RI Food Fights to showcase the options and variety my restaurant has to get people to come back and experience the atmosphere, service and food. I had a really good cuban sandwich, albeit not traditional, that used a fried cutlet with ham, swiss, etc. The bread used was pretty delicious. I went out with a large group of 11 on Friday, February 24th. I am happy to say that Teds is an amazing place. This was many of our first time there and it certainly won't be our last. The food was EXCELLENT! We started off with many Appetizers. We loved them all, especially the Truffle fries! I ordered a pasta dish that was stuffed with ricotta and had such a great tasting gravy over it. Every person in our group, loved what they ordered. The service was also Excellent. Our server was Taylor, who was very pleasant, efficient and prompt with our order. This place is a hidden jewel and I will certainly recommend it to everyone I know. read more

The pub is a neighborhood watering hole. We stopped in looking for a later night meal. The pub was mostly full. The bar was filled with what appeared to be regular customers. Was there a couple of weeks ago and decided to post my review after hearing a similar issue that a colleague mentioned regarding the establishment So me and 2 others went for dinner on a Saturday Pub was very quiet we were the only diners I had a salmon wrap that was loaded with caesar dressing Though I had ordered a aioli salmon wrap the bartender/ waiter wrote down the wrong menu item I couldn't eat it because I have a aversion to Romano cheese I did however have a stuffie which was really tasty but overpriced at 5.50 per stuffie They did remove my entree from the bill but I left hungry My suggestion to the staff be more attentive to what customers are asking for luckily it wasn't an allergy thing The owner was friendly and professional I think there is potential for improvement Best luck moving forward read more

Lisa & I went Friday eve due to the positive article in the Journal. They gave very high marks on the food. The stuffie was the BEST! The Calamari was also very good as was the beef brisket sandwich Lisa ordered. Good pour on the drinks also. The pricing was very fair...now for the bad news. Way understaffed. No greeting, difficult to order. I saw "Ted" come out from the kitchen to help out, but they needed more help. They had music in at 8 PM, "Rabbi Jack, Piano Man" This guy is good, very good. Went to Ted's Friday night for the second time. The place was hopping due to the PC Friars game. It was nice to see a small restaurant filled to capacity since Covid started. We had to wait a little bit longer than the first time for our food but it was well worth the wait. The Park Avenue burger is to die for. My husband had the crispy chicken sandwich which he hasn't stopped talking about. I felt bad for the two waitresses running around trying to accommodate everyone. Both super friendly as well as all the customers cheering on PC. Like everyone else there in the process of trying to hire more staff. Highly recommend and will definitely be back. Tonight was awful. Had previous goo experiences but we won't be back after tonight. Service was slow. Our order was wrong. The hostess (or possible owner) tried to blame it on the waitress, the waitress blamed it on the cook. It took forever for us to even ask for another drink. And then the top of the Titanic was when we were holding on to the bill, with the cash tip, and the woman who was either the hostess or owner, REACHES OVER someone at our table, to grab the receipt and money. DISGUSTING. Food and drinks were totally subpar and we will never be back. Are they under new ownership or just an overall not happy group of people? Too many good places in RI for this overpriced B.S. (yes it was EXPENSIVE, even after the incorrect item was taken off the bill. read more
