A local brewery with good prices to boot. It's rare to find craft beers that aren't a ripoff so this quite a find. Trinity Brewhouse is a popular place in downtown Providence. Also they have food and not just bar crap. The food prices can vary but some are cheap too. I came for a meetup. Luckily we picked this cool place. This is conveniently located in downtown near many hotels so if you're staying around here this is a good place for beer, and food too. Crazy amount of choices. Lots of their own beers are on tap. I had a Maple Brown. It's $5.50 for a pint. This is one of their most popular. It's a brown ale. This also has Belgian, British, and German specialty malts. Also it had a sweetness within the hippiness. This is because it's also made with maple syrup. Also try some of the good food. They have stuff beyond fries and wings. I had the Vegan 3 Bean Chili. It's $6 for a cup. This is more than it looks. Amazingly good beer and food. It can be quiet sometimes and loud at others. The prices are very good for a craft brewery and there's not many you can find cheaper than Trinity. read more

Trinity Brewhouse is a craft brewpub that opened in Providence, Rhode Island in December 1994. It was founded by Joshua Miller, who has also served as a Rhode Island state senator since 2007. The brewpub was one of the first to open in New England and was given the name "Trinity" in reference to the Trinity Repertory Company nearby. Veteran brewer Sean Larkin was the brewpub's original brewmaster and crafted fine ales and lagers there for several years before leaving in 2014. He later became the founder of Revival Brewing Company in nearby Cranston. In addition to Trinity's delicious house-made brews, they also serve delicious food such as steakhouse entrees, pasta, seafood, sandwiches, burgers, pizza, salads, wraps, and various appetizers. My wife and I first visited Trinity Brewhouse in October 2014 after visiting the Roger Williams Park Zoo. We stopped in for dinner before heading back to the zoo to see their annual Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at night. The interior of the brewpub was really cool and decorated with all sorts of signs which resembled posters from old school carnival freak shows. My wife and I ordered and shared a taster flight which consisted of "Oktoberfest" (Märzen), "Bohemian Pilsner", "Ruby Rye", "Rhode Island IPA", "Wonka's Porter", and "Belgian Imperial Pumpkin". The latter was our favorite. We wanted to take some home, but they ran out of growlers of it. To eat, I ordered some of Trinity's Buffalo wings which went great with the beers. Trinity Brewhouse is located downtown Providence, on the opposite end of the block from Trinity Repertory Theater. They brew their own beers and have a nice menu of pub fare including pizzas, salads, burgers, and entrees. They also have a menu for the tiny people in your life (children that is). The atmosphere is relaxed with high tops on the bar side and booth seating on the other. They now offer outdoor dining as well as a bar downstairs. At the time of this review they recommend making reservations. I tried to use the on-line option and was told there was no room available so I called and was told, there is plenty of room! So if you can't get a table through the app, give them a call. Restrooms are located at the back of the bar area and downstairs. Stop in at the hostess station upon arrival to be seated. Parking on street after 6pm Monday - Saturday and all day on Sunday is free. Before 6pm, metered spots are $1.25/hr ($0.25/12 minutes). Additionally there are several parking garages, including one next door, an under ground lot across the street and you'll drive by a lot on Empire Street, just before the restaurant, so you have options. With amazing luck we wound up here on a Monday.. aka wing night. Wings were half off. Got the Jamaican jerk which were super saucy and even spicier. Husband got the chicken and waffles. Yumm and the mashed potatoes that come with it were to die for. He's an IPA aficionado but wasn't too thrilled with his RI IPA. I on the other hand love cider and was happy with their selection. The service was second to none. The waitress was so authentically nice and efficient. The ambiance was dark, homey, but incredibly cute in my opinion. Stopped here for a late lunch on a Wednesday. Flights are a little expensive, so next time I would just pick one beer and get a pint. I liked the Screaming Viking ginger wheat beer. Five stars for great service by Jarred. While visiting Providence, I wanted to check out some local breweries/brew houses. Trinity was my first stop. The bar is set against the brew tanks which is a cool view while enjoying a craft beer. The Tommy's Red was refreshing and delicious. The RI IPA was also very good. I was able to buy some cans to enjoy later in my hotel room. The fries and chips and salsa made for some tasty snacks during the afternoon. read more

My Hubby and I were in Providence to see a show At The Vets Performing Art Center. We'd eaten here before many years ago before another show and wanted to relive the experience. We were seated immediately. Our server Liz was very nice and accommodating! We ordered a flight, our favorite amongst the brews was the Rhode Island IPA. We shared a Margarita which was pretty tasty. For food we ordered the Bavarian Pretzels Sticks, Calamari and the Lobster and Shrimp Mac and Cheese. Everything was very good. We LOVED the flavor of the Mac and Cheese. The only thing we had hoped for was that there would've been more Lobster. I think we found maybe 4 small pieces of lobster so that was a bit of bummer. Other than that it was very good. After wrapping up a brewery bus tour, we chose to try out Trinity Brewhouse because it was a large space that could accommodate our group. There are lots of interesting beers on tap! The menu's typically what you'd expect to find at a brew house, focused on burgers, sandwiches, and bar food. I've been at slow times and at extremely busy times, but food has always come out quick, I've never had to wait long for a drink, and the service has always been excellent. The food was amazing! Fresh crab meat and lobster meat! The RI calamari is so different. It's lightly battered and served with hot pickles and Jalapeño! The aioli sauce is a staple! I also got the seasonal mango peach cider. It reminds me of a mango lassi! IYKYK! It was so good. The server was so sweet. She recommended so many options but definitely will be back here in the next couple weeks to try their next line of beer! The service was quick and fast. The ambiance is indoor and outdoor. Been here multiple times-Food and beer is just meh, run of the mill pub food. Definitely not close to worth the price they're charging post-covid. Not the cleanest of places, definitely not the dirtiest...its a pub, temper expectations. Expect dirty bathrooms late on a busy Sat night. A classic, but beware: Listen, this old place is a Providence classic, which is why I don't have the heart to give it one star. I've come here every so often for the past 20+ years. They were brewing beer in-house since WAY before it was on-trend to do so. That used to be what made the place cool. That and it's a old-school after-theater hangout for the Trinity Rep actors and patrons. That said - something is definitely off w/ their brewing practices. The beer has tasted off and/or made me sick on more than one occasion. Today I stopped in after a long while and was happy to see a sour on the menu - Purple Passion. Right away there was a taste on the back end that wasn't quite right. Sure enough, I was nauseous and had bubble gut all evening. I know it was the beer because that's all I had - one beer. I don't know man.... If you read these - please make sure you're sterilizing and following safe protocol. This is definitely not my first time w/ stomach issues after Trinity beer. read more

Extremely fast and courteous service . The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean . I had the Spicy Chili . The Chili was not the same in texture or appearance of most chili's I have had in the past. This chili was almost kind of like a thick soup. But the flavor and the quality ingredients from the black beans , veggies and hamburger were excellent. I loved the home cooked tortilla chips they really kicked the texture of the chili up a notch . Service was on point. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food however, was average. I had an angus burger, and chose the "lite" option. No bun and instead of fries I was to receive sautéed cauliflower and a black bean and corn salsa. I'll admit the burger was good but the cauliflower had no taste and the salsa was bland. Cauliflower tasted like the frozen kind you warm in the microwave and it was not sautéed at all. My wife and son also ordered burgers with fries. They enjoyed them. After a long day at a h.s. wrestling tournament, I was excited to try this place since it was so close to our hotel. The restaurant was only at about 25% full, however the food still took a long time to come out. The server was friendly enough, but not at all attentive. The place was also sort of dark & dingy, and overdue for a renovation. The two worst parts about our visit, and the most significant reasons for this review are: A) My wife found a hair in her food. B) Two guys in the booth next to us were dropping f-bombs every other word. They were complete trash and didn't care we had a kid in our booth, not that it should make a difference. Really weird experience. We got there on a Saturday night. The place was packed. We waited for a big table. We were seated downstairs. Then the place cleared out with the people going to the hockey game at the dunk. Then we were told there was no more table service downstairs. Yet, the waitresses still there walking back and forth, up and down the stairs. So there we were, downstairs at a big table for a birthday party, and there was no table service. Went here to celebrate the end of the RI International Film Festival. One person from our party was singled out when the bar tender screamed his name to come back to the bar. He then asked why he hadn't tipped him. Our new friend is from Germany where tipping is optional. He had just spent $46 on 2 beers and 3 shots and didn't leave a tip. Bartender just kept repeating why? We tried to explain to the bartender the cultural difference. The bar tender wasn't having it and yelled to everyone at the bar - "let me know when I serve you if you aren't going to tip." We were a party of 10 and apologized to our out of country guests and vowed never to go back to this establishment again. This well established micro brewery has been Providence's favorite for a while before the craft brew beer got so popular. I come here for the beers but the bar food is surprisingly good. The word "Brewhouse" just sparks excitement in my being. Sometimes that word is used a little too loosely (meaning the place has maybe one beer they actually concoct), but when a spot is true to the brew, you're in for a good time via drink, and hopefully food. That was the case when I visited Providence's own Trinity Brewhouse back in the warmer weather. Well my first sample of suds came a day prior to visiting the establishment. During a food truck setup at Roger Williams Park, Trinity was there pouring a few of their current (at the time) beers. I went with a pint of Stone Juice which was a mildly fruity mixture with a nice dose of bitterness. It had me prepared for what was sure to be a tasty visit the next day. When the time came to go to Trinity, I can't say I knew for sure what I would be sampling. A trip to Long Live Beerworks took place shortly before this, and for some reason, I wasn't too thirsty (I think the heat got to me). Hunger was a bit more on my mind than beer...but, beer right? So I still went with one pint, this time going for Jamaican Me Crazy, a milky sweet stout with roasty notes that started off wonderfully though became a little rich by the last few sips. This was consumed at Trinity's bar area. The rest of the place had a pub feel with some eclectic notes of vintage style (the banners above the bar were intriguingly different). Beyond beers and bars and things that start with "b", we had some food to round out the visit. Just like thirst, my hunger wasn't intense, but strong enough to want to chow down on a few apps with my gal. Little did I know, Trinity boasts some huge plate sizes! We ordered the fried calamari delivered as a piled-high plate of relatively tender squid rings covered in banana peppers. The Trinity nachos (topped with pulled pork) also made its way to our mouths, but we didn't even come close to finishing it. Between both plates there was enough to invite the couple sitting next to us to eat up (we almost did!). Both dishes were decently delicious and kept us full throughout the rest of the day (until some late night burgers). I would've loved to have grabbed another pint, but between the heat, earlier beer, and what we consumed, I was spent. Better luck next time on multiple rounds of the many Trinity beers available on tap. Overall, Trinity Brewhouse does well in delivering on their titled name. They have several quality beers for the drinking that pair well with their large dishes of grub. I couldn't turn down the purchase of a pint glass to remember my time here and remind me of my desire to return, perhaps for a full meal and a few more pints (starting with a much emptier stomach!). So if/when you find yourself in Providence and looking for a legitimate combo of eats and drinks, head to Trinity...maybe bring a friend to help you eat what you order. read more
