Update: this has turned into one of my favorite breweries in the state! The beer is so good! Morgan the owner is a really cool guy too! Visited this brewery for the first time yesterday. We only stayed for a little bit to have a Burgundian waffle, and try the waffle beer. The waffle beer was really good, try it whilst you can as it's a limited time collab! I will definitely be back to try their other beers. The space inside is pretty cool, and they have plenty of games to entertain yourself and your group. And they have a brewery dog! Ollie greets you with a bark as you enter, but don't be scared, he is so friendly. He sat next to me pretty much the whole time I was there, I think I made a new friend! Will definitely be read more

Buttonwoods Brewery - Breweries Near Me - Providence, Rhode Island

My wife and I stopped by today to have a couple. She had a sour with blackberry, lychee and vanilla and I had a couple of IPA's. Everything was excellent. The beer here just keeps getting better. I am not an expert, but I have been drinking craft beer for over 3 decades. This is good shit! Check it out! read more

There are only 2 cons for this place the parking and there aren't a ton of options. However, with most craft beer places the options are typically limited. I enjoyed the stout which had a delicious peanut butter undertone. My boyfriend enjoyed two of the IPAs. The place has a cute rustic aesthetic, with string lights hanging from the ceiling. This is a fun place to enjoy a weekend afternoon. There are several games, darts, and ample seating. Another plus is there is the cutest dog roaming they brewery. They do not serve food; however, there are often different vendors there on the weekend to satisfy you. My boyfriend and I had the most delicious waffles from Leige Waffles while hanging out! I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a new place to grab a beer. read more

Haven't tried a beer here yet that I didn't like. Plenty of places to sit and enjoy the beer. We usually always buy a 4 pack or two to bring home. Highly recommend. read more

Buttonwoods brewery in Cranston has a lot of character- it is located in an old mill building similar to many in the area. They keep things simple inside the tasting room and have a decent selection of beer. I tried a stout and a farmhouse blend both of which was great, I do wish they had a sour or two for those of use who don't drink the typical lagers, IPAs, ales etc. affordable prices for craft beer, and friendly staff read more

Good beer, cool vibes, corn hole, puzzles, and a brewery dog! This is a great addition to RI's brewery scene. Ollie, the previously mentioned brewery dog, greets you as you walk in. There is plenty of bar top space as wells as tables and barrels to rest your beer on. Hopefully some food trucks start parking outside! read more

Quickly became one of my favorite RI breweries. They have the friendliest staff, hands down, and the brewer is usually behind the bar to answer any questions, or just to entertain! They usually have a very varied menu - not just the 3 IPAs and a stout thats becoming typical. Morgan loves saisons best and we're the richer for it. There's often a sour and a Berliner Weiss or other fruited beer on tap and you might luck into a coffee altbier, a peanut butter and fluff stout or a pilsener as well as the ubiquitous New England IPAs. The menu is creative and rotates constantly so you want to go back to see what's changed. You can bring your own growler to fill or buy theirs and cans to go are usually available. There's often a food truck outside or food vendors inside. The bar also has an assortment of delivery menus on hand. The usual brewery and bar games are on hand- cornhole, darts, Jenga etc. Ollie, the brewery dog is an absolute love but this is his territory and as he's an old dog who can't learn new tricks, other fur babies are unfortunately not welcomed. Human babies are. However when the temperature soars it gets HOT in this old mill building. The building is on Wellington next to Rte 95 with a bank of windows facing west....be forewarned. There are overhead fans. Buttonwoods is the second door in the brick mill when you turn in from Park Avenue. Its a 4.5 star now but if there were AC, a patio and a parking lot it would be 5+ stars, but then it wouldn't be the same funky little brewery we love. read more

They have a brewery dog who was so cute and games to be played. They also have some sort of food there on the weekend and it's always changing. There was an ice cream cart there when we visited! Its ashame they dont have an outdoor area but still a great place to check out! read more

This is without a doubt my favorite brewery in the state of RI and also my favorite place to drink. Not only are the beers amazing, the staff is incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is perfect... ohh yeah and Ollie is cute as hell too! read more

I always enjoy the ambiance & the brews. I do miss having a porter/stout but otherwise their selection is primo.

Stopped in for my first time last weekend. Overall had a good experience. Bar tender was upbeat, nice, and attentive. I tried two of their IPA's, Broken record and Bring the Ruckus, they were both ok, nothing to write home about or buy a 4 pack of, but solid beers. Will definitely come back and try their stouts as well. Have heard good things about "Hip Hop is Dead" their DIPA, will come back when that drops again. Though warm, I liked the space, could see it being fun when its busy. read more

Lord I don't know why I haven't reviewed this place yet. ! I have been coming here since opening and am always pleased with the offerings. There is plenty of free street parking and you are often greeted by Ollie the brew dog. He won't say no to treats so be sure you have some on hand. ! It's a decent sized space with plenty of room for everyone to grab a brew and hang out. There are games if you need entertainment. The beers there are great. All different kinds which is awesome for someone like me who has to have new ones all the time. I have had a coffee beer , peanut butter beer , tequila beer and many others there. There is alway something innovative and different to try. One thing that makes this place special is the brewer Morgan. He had previously brewed at another spot and came here to open his own place. He is always busy but Always has time to say hello . If it's a quiet night or later on in the evening he's happy to talk brews with you. There is beer to go and sometimes even cans if your lucky enough to get there on a release day. It's one of my fave breweries and a definite go to. If your a craft beer lover your have to check it out ! See you there ! read more

First of all the service was SLOW. It was painful watching how slowly the beer tenders moved. The audible sigh from one of the servers made me wish I tried Apponaug Brewery instead. As far as the beer- there are better breweries in the area. If you're a craft beer junkie you'll probably like it. The place has potential but they not there yet. read more

I stopped in for the first time on my way to the airport. We went with small pours of several brews including two IPAs, a saison, a bier de garde, and a gose. They were all good. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable and the service was great. Fortunately we got there at a quiet time as parking looks limited. I'd definitely stop in again. read more

Great addition to Cranston, beers are outstanding, great variety. Personally my favorite is bring the ruckus, solid ipa, nice balance, great flavor profile. The brewery itself is awesome, the owners dog hangs out with everyone while your there just a real laid back vibe to the place and outstanding beers. Cheers! read more

Really cool spot. A lot of room and great beers. They also have a bunch of games to play while drinking.

This place is SO hot in the summer due to no air conditioning but still love coming here. The selection of beers is great and they are tasty! Staff is also friendly and you can get small beers or normal sized ones, plus growler fills. No dogs and very limited food options (maybe just jerky?) Great game selection including corn hole and darts! read more

Hands down, Morgan's beer gives Long Live, Treehouse and Trillium a good run for their money. The creations his crazy mind comes up with are unbelievable! Learning Curve is my fav. You NEED to check him out and I'm not saying that just because I work right next door. My fiancé and I have been here almost every week since his soft opening in the snow storm. That's how good the beers are. read more

This is the best brewery in RI in my humble opinion. Everything they brew they do very well. Their Refined Pallet maybe the finest brew I've ever tasted. Was so excited to try this place due to the variety of beers. I was underwhelmed. The beer is average if not good at all and the customer service is terrible. Speak with your dollars and support breweries who care about their customers. read more

RI has so many fantastic breweries and amazing people owning/working at them, but Buttonwoods is the best, in my opinion. Unlike many others, Buttonwoods has variety. There are still a bunch of IPAs for those who are crazy about them, but you also can almost always find an amazing Saison along with a stout, sour, barleywine, cream ale, pilsner...you name it and Buttonwoods has brewed it, and brewed it well. Additionally, the staff are amazing. Extremely kind, patient, and great conversationalists. On weekends you can often find a food truck or food vendor, on Thursdays there is a Bring Your Own Vinyl night were everyone takes turns playing a few songs from their records. Buttonwoods is a must for any beer lover. read more

Buttonwoods is a wonderful small brewery. Every beer I've tried from them has been good with some that are really outstanding. The people working there are friendly and willing to talk to you about their beers. And of course Ollie is great. read more

LOVE this brewery! Great vibe, awesome beer, lots of room, super service...so what's not to like?!?! Gotta try it!

Bartender is super friendly and beer choices are great. Love the sitting area with soft chairs and board games. Windows need to be tinted or add shades - the sun streaming in full blast is a bit unbearable. The dog is cute but begs for food read more

Love this place! Always interesting and delicious beers in a cute and casual environment. Space is always an issue in Providence-area bars but they have a good amount of seating. Play a game or two (including cornhole!), bring your own food, or come when they have a pop-up! I've been a few times now and this place never disappoints. read more

Awesome place with great beer, and a super friendly staff. Stopped in for a tasting tour and was lucky enough to catch Emily working. She was super friendly and knowledgeable about the beer and the surrounding area. Definitely a must visit. read more

An amazing brewery with a variety of amazing styles. The staff is awesome and the atmosphere can't be beat. Plus Ollie is the best.
