Great brewery that's small, but full of fun. Has a bar with 10 seats and you can get flights(samples) or full poured beers. Has four side tables with stools. Plus two outside picnic tables. read more

Foolproof Brewing Company - Table top. - Breweries Near Me - Pawtucket, Rhode Island

Foolproof is going places, in a strong, upwardly motion. We went on the last tour on a Saturday, not sure what to expect. Tours we have taken in the past at other breweries have been either awesome - respectful people on the tour lead by someone who loves their job OR yo-bags looking to get drunk for free. I actually liked that they charged for the tour - this weeded out the aforementioned freeloaders. We were warmly welcomed upon walking in, checked our IDs and let us sample some of their hard, delicious work in our fancy new glasses. Le Farme Urbaine was on tap - a stunning saison which is due to be released unto the world at large hopefully this week. We also had the Raincloud Porter, Backyahd IPA and Barstool Ale (yay for significant others and the added bonus of sharing). Dammy and his wife were kind enough to laugh at my terrible jokes while we waited for the tour to start. During the tour, our guide was genuine in his excitement for his job - even though he was just a volunteer. Yes, people believe in this young brewery enough to volunteer their time. The tour was highly informative without being too much technical mumbo jumbo. The guide answered all questions patiently, even when one girl on the tour was asking just the most stupid things. Basically, this experience was the swift kick in the tush my boyfriend needed to start brewing at home. This place is inspirational, the entire staff supportive. Literally the next day, we brewed up our first IPA. Thank you guys for kicking my boyfriend's ass for me! read more

Came by for a tour recently, which was led by the president of the company. His knowledge and passion for beer was infectious. The tasting and tour cost $15 per person, and with that, my partner and I received three generously poured tastings into the complementary foolproof shaker pint glasses. Tip: For another $2 you can purchase a foolproof tulip glass--worth it! As far as the beer, it was good, and frankly I liked the fact that I was supporting another man's dream of starting his own brewery. As the saying goes: a man with a dream will not be denied. And I was not about to deny him his $15. While snobbish "beer advocates" bash this place, keep in mind they're hiding behind pseudonyms. My partner and I were able to taste three beers each--my favorite was the barstool; a nice refreshing pilsner. In summary: Foolproof Brewery offers a pleasurable tour, plain and simple. Give it a try. read more

I really enjoyed both of my visits to Foolproof. This is a great, local brewery that opened up a few years back. They offer great beers and are always coming out with new and incentive variations. They continually try to increase their use of local products, which is really nice to see. They host private events and have free brewery tours and tastings. It is a small place, but certainly does the job and does it well! I am looking forward to their yearly Halloween brewery tour/event... I've heard they really go all out and it's a lot of fun! read more

Foolproof Brewing Company is no joke folks! I had the pleasuring of taking a tour last weekend and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Whether you're a beer connoisseur or just love a bargain ($10 for tour, pint glass and 3 huge pours from the tap), FBC is for you. Tucked back in a Pawtucket industrial park is a magical space full of owners who love their product. The president, yes I said president of the brewery gave our tour and his expertise and passion were infectious. Yelp doesn't have enough stars to express how great I think this place is. If fantastic local brew, great branding and cute dogs (they have the sweetest little pup who hangs out) are your thing, get thee to Foolproof--like today! read more

The beer was great but I wish I had a better experience with the staff who were working there. Telling my friend "good luck" after buying three drinks for the four of us and cutting us off was pretty off putting and definitely the first I've experienced. I think I'll stick to visiting other breweries but will definitely get their beer if I see it out at other establishments. Hope this was just a fluke! read more

Love coming here when friends are in town. It's a small place but I'm a fan of Foolproof beer. I've done the tour which is short but I love to hear and see how they brew. They have a great selection of their beers and always have new/rotating brews so you can try new things each time. I'm a big fan of their sours. I highly recommend stopping by, and more so recommend stopping in with a bunch of friends. Prices are going to be on par with any bar so might as well come to the source! read more

Awesome possum! Very fun, everyone was awesome! Bill and Eric were awesome! Seriously though they were all super friendly and welcoming. Oh and their beer was good. You can't take that for granted at these small places. Some small places are hit or miss but they were good delicious beers. And they had a porter so Mom was happy! read more

The smallest state's largest brewery, Foolproof is a great stop on your craft brew list! I have been twice now and both times I really enjoyed the tour. I've been to my fair share of tours and I actually learned a ton on the Foolproof tour! The beers are some of my favorite craft beers, and they are always coming up with new and interesting ideas that keep me interested and wanting more. I love their Peanut Butter Raincloud beer and their Farmhouse Ale! For $10 you get a pretty decency sample of 3 different beers and you get to keep the pint glass. Also, keep an eye on their website, as they frequently have fun activities such as yoga and beer relay races. Can't wait to see what the guys at Foolproof come up with next! read more

They don't let dogs inside like the other breweries in the area so we had to be outside. It was really hot outside and they didn't have an umbrella for the unoccupied table so my dog was panting in the heat the whole time. They also didn't offer any water for my dog. There is a lot of options here but the beers we tried weren't very good for the hassle. Their bathroom was clean and have WiFi, but otherwise, not a fan. read more

Great selection of beer, including 2 stouts and 2 porters! Look through the windows to see the brewing tanks, and if ask nicely for a tour, you just might get lucky! Hard to find. Follow the road back behind the mill and turn right at the end. go all the way to the end and turn right into the last parking lot. The brewery is in the strip on the right. read more

What a great brewery! Fool proof had a great selection on beers for everyone's taste buds. I went there for a Yelp event and it was fabulous. The Fool Proof staff are accommodating and knowledgable. Their beer fermentation a tanks have names from on them from famous people such as the beetles and the three stooges. Fool proof is passionate about what they do and the proof is in the beer. Swing by Fool proof for a few cold ones and a tour! read more

The taproom is admittedly nothing special, its basically just an office with a bar inside, but Foolproof makes some great beer and the bar crowd is fun. Probably because they are fairly generous with the tasting flights and full pours are quite reasonably priced. read more

Great place. Always plenty of beer on tap. Friendly bartenders. Seating can be a little limited but there's picnic tables outside for nice days. They host some pretty great events. Worth checking out for sure read more

I am a huge fan of fresh well crafted beer. I like most styles. My friend and I took the tour and sampled all of the beers last Saturday and we were not disappointed. The tour was informative and entertaining and the Peanut Butter Porter was one of the best porters I have tasted in a long long time. I am definitely going back for more. BTW if your GPS leads you to a giant pile of snow and a tall fence, don't give up! Go around the other way, they'll have some great beer waiting for you! read more

We took our out-of-state friends there for the first time. We were excited to show them some good RI breweries. Come to find out they're not family friendly so they asked us to leave. The deliverance of their policy was just AWFUL! We have visited soooo many breweries- ALL of them are family friendly!! Well, NOT FOOLPROOF! So... yea. NOT going there ever again. NOT recommending this place to anyone. AND NOT buying their beer. You just lost our business and our friends' & family's business. read more

I was very disappointed by my visit last Saturday, September 22. There was an employee who had a grayish beard who I found to be rude, condescending, and curt. When I asked him questions about the beers, he was very dismissive and took a "holier than thou" attitude, as if to make me feel like I knew nothing about beer in general. Overall, the beers were so-so. There were some very obvious misses but a few successes. The Irish Rhode was quite good, but the price for a four pack is laughable. I've been to basically every brewery in Rhode Island and some in neighboring Massachusetts. There are simply too many other good options, some within a 5 minute drive from Foolproof, that I will not be returning, especially because of the way I was treated by the rude bearded gentleman. read more

Foolproof Brewing's grand opening, according to the President, was on 12/1/2012. They opened for their first public tour on 1/4/2013. Myself and 2 friends took the tour on Saturday 1/5/2013 at 1:00 - it was the 2nd tour of the day. The brewery is located in a nondescript industrial / office park in Pawtucket, RI which was just built. The brewery tour costs $10. Upon entering and paying for entry, you receive a branded beer glass, which you keep. In the glass is 3 beer bottle caps, which are redeemable at any time during the tour for a glass of the brewery's beer. At the time of our tour, there were 2 beers available - Barstool American Golden Ale, and Backyahd Indian Pale Ale. There are at least two other beers in the works that were still fermenting and not yet available on tap - a seasonal and a Porter. The tour was given by the President and Founder of the brewery, who is clearly very passionate about what he's doing. The "sampling area" is the entry way, which contains the "bar" where the beer is dispensed, by the Brewmaster, who is also obviously very passionate about what he's doing. Both of them obviously love what they're doing and love talking about it. The President, Nick, does the tours of the brewery, and explains what all the equipment is, how it plays into the process, and how the beer is made. Prior to the actual tour they explain how the hops, yeast, and grains all play into the process. The whole thing is very informative. By the time the tour is done, you've spent an hour touring the facility, drinking the beer, and spending time one-on-one with the people making it all happen. For the price, you definitely get something you will remember. Not only do you get 3 full glasses of fantastic beer and get to take the glass home, you get a tour of a locally operated RI business that is serious about beer and serious about running a business here in RI and helping our economy. Their beers are available right now at a variety of bars, and will be available in liquor stores in 3-4 weeks. Definitely take the tour if you have the time / opportunity to do so. It's well worth it if you're a beer enthusiast.!! read more

I love beer. I love supporting local businesses. So naturally I loved Foolproof Brewery! Their beers are good and the $10 fee includes a keepsake glass and 3 HUGE pours. The fact that the owner and the brewmaster were the ones giving the tours, pouring the beer, and interacting with us, made me want to support their hard work even more...and I get good beer at the same time! Win win :) read more

Why don't you allow babies? She can't drink beer. I assure you. She's not even 1. That's a horrible policy. I didn't really like your beer before but now I'm convinced you are just horrible, and that makes it taste especially icky. read more

We were looking to visit a brewery and we found this place on yelp! We decided to give it a try. At first we thought we punched in the address wrong, but we found it! I never would have thought of a brewery being there, but we are so glad we went! $12pp got you three generous samples of their brew ( basically a glass of beer) a tulip glass to keep and a tour! The tours run every hour and since we had gotten there early, we got to drink a couple before our tour! Our tour guide was very cool, soft spoken, but he really knew his stuff! He was informative. He was actually more informative than other brew tours we have been on. We ended up purchasing some beer to take home. My favorite is the farmhouse ale and the barstool Definitely go here and give it a try, you won't be sorry! read more

Struggled to give this review because I had two VERY different experiences. The first tour was fun, both of the "part-time" employees were fun and knowledgable. Then we arrived on the RI Brew Bus (my wife booked the trip with the Brew Bus we had so much fun on our original tour), even though this was clearly the most successful of the three breweries we toured, they came across as cheap and totally disinterested! The other two breweries provided pint glasses (to keep), the president of Fool Proof took out a sleeve of plastic cups...seriously!?! Then came the "tour." First off, we could not hear anything the tour guide said bc of the music that was blasting in the brewery - then again, the guide was so poor at what she was trying to do that the music was more entertaining! The people in our group genuinely told the pres. how much we liked his beer and gave specific examples of times we drank it - he couldn't have been less interested! Please don't take this poor review as a reflection of the RI Brew Bus - that experience was AWESOME! As for Fool Proof, like your beer - have since day one, but the last tour I was on was piss poor! read more

Went this weekend with a group of people to Foolproof to take a tour and sample some brews. Getting to the brewery wasn't as cut and dry as I had thought, follow the directions on the Foolproofs website, do NOT use GPS. Once there, everything was great, atmosphere, people, and most importantly the beer. First walking in the place was packed, but one of the brewmasters called us over to where we needed to be. We signed up for the tour, about $10, and got a pint glass for tastings (3 tastings per person). Being a local brewery, the size of the facility isn't huge, but the tour was interesting and fun. The tour guide was the canning guy, he was very informative and open to any questions. I'll defiantly find myself back there! read more

Used to enjoy coming here with my family. Now apparently they don't allow anyone under 21. Guess they think they're too special. Guess we'll now be going to one of the hundreds of other breweries that will allow my entire family in. read more

So we made our way down to Foolproof this past weekend all the way from Boston and it didn't disappoint. Excellent tour. Perfect balance of informative and fun. We loved their beer beforehand but now having tried their entire range of beer we're extra committed to finding them at the store. Every beer was absolutely delicious. Your $10 for the tour gets you a glass and three beers and its worth every penny. This was a great way to spend our Saturday. read more

Got the Living Social deal on a whim and was super impressed. The guys working tonight were very knowledgeable and friendly. After suggesting we try King of the Yard, an imperial IPA which was fantastic, they offered to let us check out their brewing operation. One of them joined us and explained the process...way more goes into beer than I expected. We came back to the tasting and I tried the Farmhouse Ale which is one of my favorites that they brew. For my last taste the beer master created a fusion of their Raincloud Porter and Backyahd IPA. It was delicious, best of both worlds. I would totally recommend checking out their operation. Thank you for an enjoyable evening!! read more

My husband and I went for the tour and tasting -- at $10 for the tasting and glass, it was a tremendous value. Our tour started out with a brief history of the brewery given by the founder/president, Nick Garrison, and then was completed by Bill, the "canning guy," who was knowledgeable, friendly, approachable, and completely unpretentious. I felt as though he gave us a complete picture of the brewing process -- and how the beer makes it from the giant steel tanks into the marketplace. We've been to a number of microbrewery tours and are a little tired of the (now) boring "this is the tank where blah, blah, blah.." The Foolproof tour is much more process oriented, so you learn a lot more about the entire brewing cycle. The beer is delicious and the experiential approach to naming the beers is very engaging. I highly recommend a visit. read more

By far the best brewery in RI! Have been here multiple times and the beer has always been amazing! They have a huge selection and I like doing the flight which I believe is 6 for $10, they also have a smaller option and of course beers by the glass. My favorites have been any of the sours and any of the Raincloud porters. Small place, tucked away in the back of an industrial park, but definitely worth the stop. read more

Foolproof Brewing Company is a great new craft brewery in Pawtucket, R.I. If you're interested in beer or brewing, you've got to take the brewery tour. It costs $10 and lasts about an hour, but you get a Foolproof glass and three samples. During the tour the owner and brewmaster discuss the history of beer and how they take water, grain, hops and yeast and make some amazing brews. As a homebrewer, I really enjoyed the inside look at how they do things on a larger scale and talking to them about the ingredients they use. They seem like a really nice group of people and I hope they have a lot of luck. I can't wait to see their beers in stores. read more

Super friendly staff and great beer! Definitely recommend the tour it comes with a beer and pint glass for $10

Stopped in with a few friends today for a tasting. Great price for a glass and 3 generous samples. The woman behind the bar was very friendly and interactive. $5 will get you a tour of the brewery and 4x 4oz. samples of beer. Definitely worth it. The only downside is that the brewery is small and not all that impressive, but the great beer more than makes up for it. Come with your friends and have a great couple hours of fun. read more

SUCH great beer and amazing brewers, very excited for their fall beer coming out! This is a must-visit brewery in Rhode Island!

As far as tours go, this one was pretty basic. It is a small facility so there is not a lot to see. For $10 you get 3 pours, a pint glass to take home, and a tour. However, the part-time employees leading tours on the weekend are a hoot and give a very colorful "history" of beer. The pours were pretty generous as well. Been there twice and enjoyed the experience both times. I wish they had more beers to sample. read more

Great beer. Informative tour through the small brewery. More great beer. I'm definitely NOT mad at this place! Also a fun spot to bring out-of-towners, since they definitely need a souvenir glass to add to their collection back home. read more

Bill gave us one of the best tours that I have ever had in this industry. He really showed the process from a perspective on which most people can identify. The beer was amazing, and I particularly enjoyed the saison. It had a great aroma, and was crispy and delicious. I would definitely recommend coming and taking the tour. Not only do you get delicious beer, but the tour is refreshingly different from the standard fare. Thanks, Bill! read more

Great tour! Very knowledgeable. For the money you get a cool glass, a tour and almost two full pints. All the beers are delicious and can't wait for retail sale. Only sold in bars/restaurants for now and only in RI for the time. Great start up and I know it's only going to get bigger (and eventually come to Mass). read more

We did this tour this past weekend and it was excellent all around. We did the first tour at 1:00 and had a good size tour, about 8 people. This was great as we had the opportunity to ask questions and get the full view. When we were leaving the 2:00 tour was coming in and was a little more crowded so I would recommend getting there a little early. Overall great tour, great beer, can't wait to drink some more. read more
