Synopsis: Transit Moving Systems is extremely UNCOMMUNICATIVE, repeatedly LIED about where our items were and when they would arrive, BROKE thousands of dollars worth of our items, and hires drivers who EXTORT customers for money. Rating: -1/10. I would rather listen to Nickelback while skipping through a cactus patch naked than hire them again. Read on for full details... We had the absolute worst experience with Transit Moving Systems. I really wish we would have considered their online reviews before we embarked on the nightmare of working with them. Trust me - this company is horrible, but we initially decided on Transit Moving Systems because their quoted price was reasonable, they are a local business with their own trucks, and the customer service person I worked with, Tony, seemed helpful... Anthony/Tony, our customer service contact, was extremely communicative until we signed the estimate and he had our deposit. Then, he went completely MIA (more on that later). Up front I indicated very clearly that we had a lot of flexibility on the front end for pickup, but needed our items delivered as close to our move-in date as possible. Tony recommended we schedule a pickup window 14 days before our move-in date, so we did. We even offered to have them pick up earlier, but he said this was good timing. Fast forward, we heard nothing from him until he let us know our items would be packed and picked up... tomorrow. The movers that arrived were nice, but they did an absolutely TERRIBLE JOB. SO many of our items were broken, boxes were LINED with framed photos/art, and they actually packed a FULL GARBAGE CAN (note we were home and could have simply emptied this if they had asked). They were hasty and broke basically all the things we didn't want broken the most: expensive chairs, bookcases, lamps, mirrors, etc. A few days before our move-in date (approaching 2 full weeks without our items). I tried to contact Anthony/Tony to get a delivery update and it was as if he never existed. Email after email, call after call... NOTHING. I eventually resorted to calling the main number over and over to try to get an answer. The operator gave me a complete runaround of excuses every time: 1) "Your items will be there in 2-3 days and you'll get a call from the driver." Great, we received no call. 2) Now days later, AFTER the original delivery date. Call back. "The truck with your items are just outside Chicago (our destination) and waiting to be put on a smaller truck that is permitted to come into the city. It'll be a few days." No call for a few days. 3) Call back days later, extremely pissed and we were told that our items were STILL IN SEATTLE AND HADN'T EVEN BEEN PUT ON A TRUCK TO BE MOVED. Every person we spoke with had been BLATANTLY LYING to us in every single conversation. We were livid and needed a delivery date because we were going to be out of town soon (weeks after our scheduled delivery date). Then they told us if they tried to delivery during that window while we were out of town, we would be CHARGED for storage and have to reschedule the delivery. Unbelievable. 4) Finally, the operator put me in direct contact with the driver. The driver wouldn't give me any answers at first, telling me to continue calling him everyday, which I of course did. Finally, he gave us a delivery date and told us there would be an additional $500 cash fee for delivery within the city. I told him the company didn't tell us that and I would not be handing over any cash and if that was true I'd be happy to talk to the company directly about it. Once I pressed, he gave it up; so add EXTORTION by the driver to the list of complaints. The individuals who unloaded our items were actually the most competent and kind people of the whole experience. We unpacked all of our broken items and had to submit a claim. To do this, you have to use a janky website which required photos be much smaller than your basic smartphone captures - get ready to spend a ton of time compressing and zipping your photos. And if you use this company be sure to get extra insurance by VALUE not weight, that's where they screw you. Tony legitimately talked me out of this, which is my fault that I believed him. We had thousands of dollars worth of damage and got an almost laughable $90 back, which we still haven't received. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE - i would have rather paid double this amount for a better experience. read more

Recently I made a new move to my new home and the best decision in my life I took was to move with these movers when the previous movers ditched me at the end moment. I made a reservation with about 1.5 weeks' notice, and they appeared to have no problem taking it. The process was simple. They tried to confirm the reservation many times the day prior, but I was too busy packing to hear them. I am grateful they went out of their way because, with all that has come to light, I would have missed it if they hadn't. Even though the guys were a bit later than anticipated, they never once tried to justify their tardiness by charging me more. With little more than politeness and speed, they relocated everything in under two hours. There are hardly any bruises or breaks, and this might happen even when your pals are lending you a hand. I hardly had to flex my muscles to do anything, if we consider how efficiently they moved. Michael was quite accurate when he came to my house to provide me with an estimate (with the exception of the cost of any more boxes I might want on the actual moving day). His hourly rates were lower than a competing organization but on par with a less professional-looking firm. All in all, whole team was punctual, careful, and polite. Throughout the packing and moving processes, the team leader remained consistent in his helpfulness, competence, and amiability. read more

I searched on the yelp and found Transit Moving Systems. I decided to give it one last go since people had good things to say about the company. James responded to my call immediately and informed me that he would schedule my move. He booked the move within an hour and also sent over Daniel who did a quick inspection of my home for a price quote. Thankfully, it was fair and within my budget. Plus, Daniel also noted down my requests and helped me sort out my inventory as well. On moving day, arrived on time with his crew and all of them got to work right after they came. The 4 of them provided excellent service from start to finish. They dismantled my heavy furniture, removed my electronics and packed all the items carefully with foam padding, bubble wrap, soft blankets and cardboard boxes. After packing, they labelled the boxes as well, which helped me a lot during unpacking. The next day, they came in early and brought their moving trucks as well. They carefully loaded all the boxes and cartons on them and made sure to add in protective barriers for additional protection. I was also at ease the whole time since Daniel kept me updated with the progress through regular calls. Luckily, they delivered my items on time and in perfect condition. Transit Moving Systems company, you deserve heartfelt thanks. They made a difficult and stressful cross-move much simpler for me. Both teams were well-informed and pleasant to work with. The security of my belongings pleased me. I understood what was going on at every process stage because it was so straightforward. An estimator visited my NY apartment and weighed up all of the possessions in a short time. After that, it was simple for me to determine how to eliminate some of my items, and they agreed to accept the altered list. The team was flexible and accommodating as our plans altered several times. The moving crew arrived on time, wrapped everything in a blanket, especially every piece of furniture, disassembled everything that needed to be done, and labelled and numbered every box with information. The crew unloaded their belongings as soon as we closed on our new house. At the same time, the truck was on its way. I was informed of its whereabouts, and a helpful team member even called to arrange for same-day delivery. Everything was unloaded, unwrapped, and reassembled in just a few hours by the destination team. The staff insisted that I only advise them where to place goods, and they would take care of everything else, even though I could manage to settle things. Transit movers is a reliable and efficient way to move quickly. If you are like me and always swamped for time I would recommend that you use transit movers. They responded to me quickly and they were very accommodating to my special needs. It did not matter that I was moving up and down two flights of stairs and then moving again into an apartment up multiple flights of stairs again, they managed to do this faster than I could have ever done it with just myself. The only thing that I did not like about transit movers is that it seemed slightly overpriced. It cost me a small fortune to move out and into the apartment. Although it did save me time, and time is money, I'm not sure that the services were worth the cost. But again I needed to be moved out fast and they did a tremendous job at transporting all my valuables. I would use them again if I ever need to move out quickly. read more

We had camera equipment and laptops, and Transit Moving Systems helped us to move our belongings safely to WA. All the items we had to mail were expertly wrapped and delivered on time; there were no scratches or damage to anything. The first thing I noticed was how professional and courteous they were. They came in and introduced themselves, and then got straight to work. They were very careful with each piece of furniture, wrapping everything up in blankets and tape to protect it during the move. They even had these cool little gadgets that helped them move everything without any damage. Each movers knew their role and executed it flawlessly. One guy was in charge of disassembling the bed and putting it back together, while another guy, Jeffery handled all the heavy lifting. They came in and packed up my belongings and very carefully packaged all my fragile pieces from my home.
