Tracy Mazda has got to be one of the worst dealerships in the state of California. I called them on 7/13/10 to arrange a major service appointment. Never was I able to speak to a service advisor. I left a message at 11:00 am and did not get a call back until 4:30 pm. I followed up with a call on 7/14/10 and once again, unable to speak to an advisor. I never left a message and will never call them again. If you own a mazda, I strongly suggest you contact Fremont Ford/Mazda dealer who get five stars in my opinion overall. Howard H read more

I had nothing but a great experience here. I live far from Tracy and was not able to get there until about 7pm (they close at 8). Everyone there was incredibly nice and friendly with me. I traded in my car and ended up purchasing a car that evening. As a female who knows absolutely nothing about cars, I often feel like I am being taken advantage of due to my lack of knowledge but the entire sales staff was open and honest with me from the moment I arrived. I felt very comfortable. They stayed late to complete my purchase and I never felt any pressure the entire time I was there. I mostly worked with Michael and the director of sales whose name slips my mind but they were both awesome. All in all I had a great experience and would absoluely recommend Tracy Mazda to friends and family! read more

David and Frank are awesome!! Had such a great experience here. After researching all over I came to see a cute Mazda that was in my price range. I was sold after the test drive. My boyfriend had noticed a small chip in the windshield, and after being brought to their attention they fixed it immediately! While filling out paperwork they were so nice and accommodating- funny too! I was a little nervous having this be my first dealer purchase, but I couldn't have come to a better place. I will definitely be back and would recommend to friends, and I absolutely love my new Mazda 3. Thanks guys! read more

This is an update to my previous review. After the very bad experience in tracy mazda on 03/24/2018, I got a call from tracy mazda on 03/26/2018 to understand about my experience in the showroom. As part of the call, i have been booked an appointment to come back on 03/30/2018. I visited the showroom on 03/30/2018. Sales Rep. David showed us few car and he also convinced me to downgrade from Grand Touring CX-9 to Touring CX-9 to fit into our budget. But, suddenly Internet Sales Manager jumped in the middle of the conversation and the first question he asked me - "Why are you here today after walking out on 03/24/2018". He also showed my Yelp review . I told him that my yelp review was just the reflection of what happened on 03/24/2018 and nothing cooked up. He also said that once the SSN is given in the online credit application, their system will run credit report even though credit application is not submitted. I dont understand this. He doesnt have answer for why the online credit application form has submit application button, Also, He doesnt have answer why they didnt have disclaimer that credit report will be run once the SSN is entered. In short, Again had a very bad experience in this showroom. When walking out of the showroom, I felt that my previous review was accurate. This showroom lacks professionalism. read more

I came down to tracy Mazda for a mustang , mind you i am a first time buyer with no co signer. I know what your thinking, a first time buyer looking for a mustang sounds like a nightmare but the crew here worked with me to get me the lowest apr rate they could ,Frank worked his magic! they were very up front and transparent and did whatever they could to get me in the car i wanted. Jim helped me throughout the entire process and was patient with me , if you come in ask for him .He is not a salesman , didn't pressure me into anything just made sure i was comfortable with everything going on. We went in the day before my birthday and test drove a Mazda 3. Kristie DeBenedetti was friendly and NOT pushy. We told her that we were still looking and that we might be back the next day which was my birthday. The next day, she came running up to me, hugged me and said "Happy birthday!!" While we went to dinner, she had the car detailed and even stuck a big red bow on it! Then she said that she didn't know if I liked chocolate or vanilla so she bought cupcakes in BOTH favors. She called for all available salespeople to come to the showroom and they sang "Happy Birthday" to me. She made me feel comfortable and it was as if we had known each other for years. I highly recommend her! Best car buying experience EVER!! read more

This is my 3rd Mazda...every time I go to Tracy Mazda its a great experience. Everyone is helpful. I bought a new car, and it had a minor issue so I took it back a few hours later, they had it checked out, it needed a small part, gave me a loaner. I had just had a car accident so I felt uncomfortable having a car with issues already, they told me they want me happy so they asked if I wanted this car or they will find another, exact same. I opted for the new car..they had it within a day. I felt silly being so skittish and bothersome but they didn't mind and only wanted me happy no matter what the hassle was on redoing paperwork etc. Nick, Frank, Joe and everyone at Mazda, even the friendly gal (I forget her name) but always cheery and helpful, even when I come in for oil changes, they know my name and greet me..keep up the awesome customer service Tracy Mazda!! I'm a forever Tracy Mazda girl!! Thank you!! read more

AMY! AMY! AMY Was AMY-azing! I've owned many used cars in the past and was looking to go brand new this time around. I spoke to approximately 10 other Mazda dealerships and Tracy Mazda, coupled with Amy, won my business. How? They didn't have the car I wanted in stock but they were able to work hard for me and eventually acquired it in a day (only 2 left around the bay area). On top of that, they matched the best price available! They mostly won me over with great customer service and the urgency to meet my expectations. It was a pleasure to work with Amy and Joseph. They reserved my car for a whole day! When I arrived, I was greeted with smiles from everyone. The test drive was fun and engaging (again, thanks to Amy). Paperwork was fast and no pressure to buy anything I didn't want. Amy thoroughly went through the manual and the Electronic/Nav set up with me. My wife and I were very pleased with the experience that Tracy Mazda provided. I drove away smiling and feeling like I won the lotto. A big THANK YOU to Amy and the Tracy Mazda crew. I should be seeing these guys again soon for my wife's car :) read more

We recently purchased a 2015 CX-5 from Tracy Mazda during the Black Friday Sale. My fiancé and I had been looking for a Mazda CX-5 for a few months now and decided it was time to buy during Black Friday. After being jerked around at the Roseville Automall for two hour and we were totally ignored at Maita Mazda, our experience at Tracy Mazda was AWESOME! Heather at Tracy Mazda was so helpful and friendly! She did not pressure us at all during our experience and we really appreciated it. Heather was very knowledgeable about the car and its' features. After we bought the car she even helped us set up our phones and took her time to show us every feature in the car. The only criticism I have from the experience is that we didn't get a hat or key chain after spending that much money on a new car J Tracy Mazda was VERY reasonably priced and with their quality service we will come back to buy from them. Thanks again Heather!! read more

I just bought an used Acura MDX from Tracy Mazda today and I just make it short and simple: The people here are honest, sincere and very helpful. They made my 1st dealership car buying experience easy. Ronnie, the used car manager was excellent. Very knowledgeable, super friendly and totally gained my trust. Very cool guy too, I made the decision to buy the car after talking with him. Nick Tan, the sales person that helped me through the process was reasonable and friendly, not all at what you would imagine about a typical used car salesman. Heather, who took the time to show me the car, understand and transfer my feedbacks about the test drive to the technicians was also nice and easy to talk to. They were not at all aggressive and pushy. You ever felt the "hostile environment" when talking with dealership, well, you won't get the same feeling here, at least with the folks I just mentioned. Love the folks I met today, and I will definitely come back to deal business with them again. read more

This was my forth car purchase but first time buying from a dealer rather than a private party. Kristie was absolutely amazing to work with! She was so friendly and had the best customer service. I purchased a used Honda Element after putting 190k on my last one. Kristie understood how much this type of car means to me and worked diligently with us to come to an agreement on price. Best car purchase I could have ever asked for! I would recommend this dealership and Kristie to all my friends and family. read more

It was a blast to purchase a car at Tracy mazda. I got my 2016 miata here. Online shopped with Kristie who is extremely friendly, helpful and patient. Went to shop and picked up the car after I made the deal online. Jim welcomed me and made the entire transacation relax and painless. Unlike the bay area dealers, this is a place gives fair price yet not trying to hard sell any add-ons. I would definitely recommend Tracy Mazda to my friends and families! read more

I know I needed to post this. Obviously I have stuck a nerve with a few car dealerships. I want you all to know that my experience is just business as usual for this dealership. I stand by my assessment. They are jagaloons...But, After the owner started sending me messages on Yelp...I felt it was my responsibility to show everyone how unscrupulous these people truly are. I wish I had enough space to give you my response. I would be glad to give it! --- Matthew H. Thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback. It is unfortunate that you misunderstand how we sell cars. We believe in value pricing our inventory so everyone gets a great deal not just the people that are the best negotiators. The vehicle you were interested in was one of the lowest priced Ford Mustangs in the region, based off miles and equipment. In regards to your trade-in, we use an industry leading software program for trade-in values as well as the pricing of similar vehicles that have recently run through the auction and what they were purchased for by other dealers. It is unfortunate that we were unable to reach agreement with you on this transaction. I'm glad that your automotive purchase needs were met at the other facility. We by no means intended to be rude to you, and are sorry you mis-took our explanation for rudness. We have since removed you from our emailings as you requested, and have not contacted you since. If you would like to discuss this mater further I can be reached Frank Yray. --- Matthew H. 10 hours ago Its not a matter of mis understanding. Its a matter of integrity. If my employees worked, and acted in that manner like that...I would be firing them. Lets be honest, we live in a service based society, and the service I received was negligable at best. Then to have your employee barate me via email...unacceptable. I am still considering posting his email to show how rude and condecending he was. It's sad when another dealership didn't even argue when I told them what I wanted for my trade-in, and got it done. Which is why when Ford Credit recommended I go to your Tracy Ford Dealership, I declined the invitation. Not only did you lose one car sale. You lost two. Not to mention how many other people will be avoiding your place of business based upon my review. That's why perception in service matters, especially in the age of social media. Matthew ---------------- frank y. Owner Matthew, I respect your opion, however disagree. We are listed on numberous sites and are highly ranked for our service. With Mazda we are #1 in the district, and #7 in the region. I know Matt was contacting you back because you had said the Blue Book was "X" on our car, and that number was incorrect. He believed that it would help you to make your decision if you were basing it off the correct Blue Book value. The number we gave you for your trade-in was based off what I could buy a similar vehicle (same year, make, model, and miles) for at the auction. Again if we can buy a car through the auction for "X" we don't need to pay "X+" for the same car. The trade-in is simply a facet of 1 and/or 2 things. 1) they are planing on retailing your vehicle (We were not) or, 2) they had profit from your car purchase to over pay for your trade vehicle. We do sell a lot of vehicles pre-owned and were ranked #2 in the nation for Mazda last year. So we have a successful system for retailing cars. I don't expect you agree with it, I'm simply trying to explain the mis-understanding. I mean, how we viewed the deal, and how you viewed the deal. I'm sorry it didn't go the way you expected, or for that matter how we expected. In either case neither party wins! We would like to make every deal, but our system of selling has allowed us to flurish, expand, and survive while other stores around us have failed. It is symantics now because you chose another vehicle to fit your needs. I'm happy you have found a deal that benifits you and in the end that is the most important thing. So congratulations on that purchase. I mean that truly. read more

My daughter bought her first car at Tracy Mazda!! What an awesome experience!! Jim and Amir were absolutely welcoming! No pressure whatsoever! My daughter wanted to weigh in her options. He simply just said I am here if you have any questions or concerns. He basically said I am working for you. All in all my daughter selected her 2016 Mazda 6. Great customer service! Oh boy! Where to start? I've been debating for a month what to write. I've waited this long because I'm still waiting for a check from them but warning people about this dealership is worth more than $60, I believe. Why don't we start with the good since it will be short and sweet. The cars! Mazda has great cars and Tracy Mazda must have a very good auction person because the cars are great. Unfortunately, that's pretty much it. Their customer service leaves much to be desired. Let's talk about the money guy, Joe...you are buying a car from them, right? Well, Joe's demeanor is like you were pulling teeth from him. If you like the feeling of getting a good deal, you won't get it here. Keep in mind that since my prior car had been totaled, we paid in full for a certified pre-owned Mazda 3. You would think that giving them a big fat check would get you some negotiation room, right? Well, generous Joe only discounted $200 off from the advertised price, jeez, very generous, thanks! Oh and don't you dare to ask to put more than $2500 on a credit card because "they are not in the business of sending you to Hawaii". The car also came with a small windshield chip which they assured me would get fixed by their "guy". Oh, no worries, they said...our guy will fix it and he'll go to your home/job. 5 days later I get an email saying: Sorry, we didn't check before hand and he won't travel that far (We came all the way from Sacramento to purchase this car.) Why make promises you can't deliver?? So, they ask me to go get it fixed and then, they'll reimburse me. Well, 10 days after submitting my receipt, I haven't gotten a check "because the accountant needs a signature from upper management"...so, the right hand doesn't talk to the left hand? And wait, there's more! You are all excited, paid up and about to drive off with your new car when they tell you...oh by the way, it only came with one set of keys and since you already signed all the paperwork, it's on you to get a new set!!! No offer to replace it or a discount or nothing!!!! Again! Like pulling teeth! We drove off so mad that we thought we had forgotten the paperwork for the car at the dealership! Just thinking about having to go back and get stuff from them made us grind our teeth...good thing we ended finding the paperwork. My husband was so mad after this experience that as soon as we got home, he grabbed a screwdriver and took off the license plate frames that read Tracy Mazda. "I would be embarrassed if someone went to that place because of our free publicity", he said. So, thanks for ruining the experience of getting a new car. Oh, one last thing to point out, this one is good. Our salesman, Nick, is a pretty decent guy. He has replied to all my emails and requests but his hands are basically tied and even though he is very professional when replying, he is powerless and can't offer solutions. Perhaps, our last experience buying a car was so good that this one seemed like hell. You can look through my other reviews for that one...now I know though! Tracy Mazda, never again! read more

The only reason I am giving this place one star, is because I have to, if I didn't, it would get ZERO stars! First of all, I knew exactly which car I wanted and I knew I wanted to buy it. I had my own financing and a trade-in, which I was a little upside down on. I wanted to have the money that I owed on my trade-in added to my new purchase contract, and wanted 100% financing. BILL WEBB helped me with my purchase and told me that I needed to write him a check for the overrage amount and they would hold it in case I couldn't provide my own financing, and then they would cash it if their financing had to take over. I was fine with that because I knew I had my own financing. So I sat there while he dealt with other people ahead of me. (Keep in mind that the entire time I am there, I have a 2 year old with me.) We were there from 3:30 to 8:30 to only find out that I could not drive the car off the lot and that the check he told me they would "hold" was going to be cashed right away, because he did not convey to the finance department to add my overrage on my trade-in into the purchase contract. In the 5 hours I was there he never once told me that they were going to cash my check right away, (even though I told him I was financing 100%) or that I would not be able to drive the car off the lot. I had transferred all of my belongings into the new car and had signed all the documents. I was so fed up with all the news after the 5 hour ordeal, I did not even buy the car. My daughter was hungry and tired, and they never once took into account that I had my 2 year there with me who was occasionally melting down. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM TRACY MAZDA or deal with BILL WEBB! read more

We just purchased a brand new CX-9 from Heather. I went in wanting to purchase a used CX9. We had negative equity on our current minivan and did not think we could afford a brand new SUV. I test drove a used vehicle with Heather and she was informative and friendly. There was never any pressure to buy. When I explained our situation with the negative equity in our current vehicle, she suggested a new model which had lots of rebates. When I returned two days later to have our trade in vehicle appraised and to negotiate a deal on a new vehicle, I was still pretty certain I may not even get a car (used or new). I thought for sure we were not going to be able to work something out. Heather and Charles (in finance) worked some magic and we drove away in a brand new SUV all within an affordable payment. There was no haggling and minimal negotiating. I stated what I could afford and what I wanted, and they worked their magic! It should also be noted that we had been turned down by three other dealerships who were not willing to give us fair value for our trade in (quoted $2000 less than what Tracy Mazda gave us) or even work with us to try and figure out if we could purchase a vehicle from them. Thank you Tracy Mazda (especially Heather and Charles)! read more

I bought a brand new 2013 Mazda6 last Thursday night from Tracy Mazda. It had been a long time since I have purchased a new car. The paperwork was easy and the finace manager Charles was friendly and explained everything on the paper work so I knew exactly what I was getting. Alex my salesman explained all the details of the car and was very nice making sure I understood all the gadgets on the new car. I drove out of there feeling like I had made friends as they waved me goodbye. i actually registered a yelp account to write a review for them! i purchased a used 2010 Miata from them past weekend, and coming from someone who had purchased 3 new cars from dealerships in the past 3yrs, one was a Mazda 3 (purchased from fremont mazda) which we still own, i must say this is by far the BEST experience i've had! we drove there from fremont, passing about 4-5 mazda dealership on the way. but i would say it is worth your time and gas!!! the sales who helped us was Nick. he was honest, very patient, and not pushy at all! i really really hate pushy sales people. the first thing he explained to us was that the window price on the car was actually more than the internet price, then he showed us the internet price, made sure thats the price we're getting, and explained that he cannot sell us anything more than that lower internet price. very honest right!? then we went back and forth many many times negociating prices. being asian n all, price negociation ability is in our blood. i wasn't exactly the easiest customer to deal with. =) at the end, i traded in my honda cr-v, and the whole trade in n buying process was less than 1.5hrs. minus the part waiting for the car to get detailed, which did took forever. =( but he did kept us company the whole waiting time, and he is very knowledgeable about cars! they even offered me a free first service! great stuff! it's too bad that the dealership is in middle of no where, and they get pretty much no foot traffic. but if you're looking for a mazda, GO THERE! its worth the extra miles!!! after all, you are buying a car, not a donut. read more

I am so excited to drive away in my new (used) Scion XB I had to write my Yelp review from the lobby of Tracy Mazda! I have been on the hunt for a used XB and visited almost every dealership within a reasonable driving distance. Yes, Tracy Mazda had the car I wanted, but their customer service sealed the deal. After dealing with sour-face salesman who seemed to care less about being personable, and managers who hid behind walls and never said hello, my husband and I were overjoyed to be greeted with huge smiles and kindness. I called in advance and Nick Tan, our gracious salesman, had the vehicle ready and waiting in the shade when we arrived. He was really nice and helpful, ready with all the info about the car. Then the manager, Ronnie Vajdak, came out to say hello and worked with us directly to make the deal happen. I actually nicknamed him "Smiley Guy" because he was so friendly. I never felt pushed or hustled once during the transaction. The excellence in customer service, and the calm environment of the dealership, made us happy to sign on the dotted line. Thank you Nick, Ronnie, and Tracy Mazda! We are so excited to drive away in our new ride! read more

Worst service ever...every time we went there we waited for someone to help us! We really liked the CX-5 so we stuck it out. When we decided to run numbers we were there 3 hours and ended up leaving! They called the next day and had numbers for us, which was not within the monthly payments we gave them! They finally got it to an acceptable level and worked a good deal but me and my husband like to discuss things first. When we told them we would be back the next day they tried telling me deal was only for one day so I told them no deal then! They called us back saying to come in and deal would still be good so we did the deal! Now a week and a half later they are calling us saying they didn't fully secure the loan and we need to sign a new loan! Mind you I am 38 weeks pregnant and don't really want to sit at a dealership again to sign a deal again! I do not recommend this dealership and will not buy from them again! read more

I brought my car in to get it fix. Nobody helped me with the unloading process from the trailer. I'm 70 years old and all they said was that they couldn't help me unload it and gave me stupid excuses (they acted like people who only do what they are payed for and nothing more). After struggling with a friend, this gentlemen came to help. Mostly all the workers there gave me attitude. Not that much communication between the staff. I called and made an appointment, there was miss communication on their side and they got mad that they had to hold my car there for a week. The manager told me to unload it at a certain place. When I was doing that this worker came out and gave me complete attitude saying I couldn't park there and told me I had to move. From there I was just outraged and wanted to unload it fast and leave. Overall the purchase of my 2014 Ford Escape was relatively painless. Heather did a great job answering all the questions and was very helpful. Appointment was made the same day I found it online. The price was very good based on comparable listings....I knew what I was looking for though. As another reviewer commented, I had same experience and only got one key for the vehicle at the end, which didn't bother me too much until I went to have one made and found it's going to cost me $150. This is something Tracy Mazda should address, as others have made the same comment. Every vehicle should come with at least two key sets!! They really want you to buy the extended warranty, (as Consumer Reports says, a cash cow) even though the vehicle I bought was covered by the original factory warranty. When I initially turned the offer down, they came back with a 7 year offer. Based on the miles I drive, I decided it was worth it though it will cost me $20 a month for the 7 years. It will pay off only if major maintenance is required. My wife talked me into it, otherwise I still would have said no. Be aware if buying used that their sales offer will include extended warranty in the price they propose, as others have mentioned. I remain optimistic that my new Ford and the Tracy Mazda service department will meet my expectations, and will update as needed. read more
