Tony C's did contact me after me getting the wrong sandwich. They sent me a gift card to cover me trying them again. I figured I would and did another online order for a meatball parm sandwich. Forgot to use the gift card but it was a fair resampling. Once home I opened the bag and it was a meatball sandwich. Yes, Plus one. The meatballs were good. Yes, plus two. The bread was super crunchy that made it fall apart at every bit. Not so good. A sandwich I had to eat with a knife and fork. Since I still had the gift card, I went inside to dine this time. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. It was almost empty except for me and another couple. It appeared they were busy with to go orders. Finally a waitress came back to me to take my order. It took a while so I supposed they were still making To Go orders first. The pasta was cooked correctly. The meatballs were meaty and tender. The sauce was okay but could have used more. The food here has always been top notch, had the chop salad and it was amazing as always. The bartender is the reason for my review today though. I believe his name is Lowe and from the second I sat down he made sure I was taken care of. He hit all of his steps of service with ease even with a lack of supervision on a slow Monday morning when it would be easy to slack off. It makes me happy to see TC4 continue to thrive and hiring talented people like Lowe is a huge part of that! I will be back to enjoy the ambiance and his flawless service. My experience with Tony'C has been just OK. I gave them not one but couple of chances but every time I was disappointed. It's a nice local neighborhood restaurant and was is perfect location to pick up food during lock down. To start with good, the staff have been good, and I love the ease to place the order online and doing a curbside pick up. The very first time I order pizza online and after an hour when I reached there to pick up my order at the scheduled time.. Voila I was informed that my order was cancelled ! Second time - I made sure I get my pizza I decided to call in quiet in advance, so that they can accommodate my order (unlike 1st time).. I called around 5:30ish for a 8:00pm pick up. After reaching and following the curbside pick up instructions, I waited for almost 20 mins. I saw so many other people come and leave with their food while I was waiting. I called them, but no answer. So decided to step inside. After inquiring I was told that 1 out of my 2 pizza was taking some time.. OK ! I again waited for almost 15-20 mins before I got my order. At last and I drive away. Luckily I realized I did not get my receipt as it was a call in order. I drove back and went inside to check just to realize I was been wrongly charged. Another 10 mins to correct that !! Reached back home almost after an hour(I live 5 mins away )... I had ordered the Vegetarian and Bianc. Vegetarian pizza was good but the other one was just ok. Ordered the pizza again, online this time I got my order in time that I had scheduled but the pizza's were cold ! For the last few months I have been hearing Todd from KLBJ AM's Todd and Don show bragging about the food at Tony C's. Took my mother there for lunch. The manager (sorry I did not get her name) and our waiter Luigi were super nice and friendly. They both came by our table several times to check on us, explained the different menus, and told us about all of the different specials they have throughout the week (2 for 1 pizza and wine on Tuesday). I ordered the Coal Fired Ziti with Italian sausage and my mother got the Italian Beef Sub. The servings were large. The Ziti was the best I have ever eaten. The creamy cheesy sauce was amazing. The dish was loaded with pieces of sausage and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The sub looked fantastic with a huge amount of sliced beef and sweet peppers. It was served with truffle fries. My mom who is very picky was totally impressed. For dessert we had the Zeppoles. It is flash fried pizza dough rolled in cinnamon and powered sugar. It is served with honey for dipping. Okay so now that we have that out of the way, the food here is great but the romantic atmosphere is even better! They have exposed brick through out and the coolest looking bar that will put you at ease for a date night or a family night out. I had the large veggie pizza and the garlic knots. The pizza is huge and for two people it's plenty and then some. The garlic knots are well garlic knots, so you can't really go wrong. Everything is delicious! What really makes the whole experience are the people. The waitstaff is friendly, attentive, and helpful. The general manager even came out and asked us if we liked everything and talked for a bit. Came here for dinner on a Tuesday and you know that it's BOGO pizza day on Tuesday's here! How great is that. There was a little bit of a wait and but I was able to notice you can take advantage of this deal on take out. There were so many people buying two pizzas for take out it was crazy. There is not real waiting area for a table so you are in the way of those to go orders and people leaving as well as those trying to go to the restroom. There are large party tables in the wine room which is nice if you plan of coming in a big group. I don't think the hostess anticipated this many people coming in for dinner on a Tuesday because a lot of the two top tables were empty and the four top tables were seated with two people. The wait wasn't too long but I felt awkward standing in everyone's way. The food though is totally worth it! We also so happened to be there during Happy Hour and there is a discount on all appetizers. We got the garlic knots and the fried ravioli. It was awesome both items were so delicious that we ate all of it. Then we ordered two giant pizzas. They were both very good but we had already loaded up on carbs first so we couldn't finish it. Shout out to Tony Cs Avery Ranch... it's really tough to find a restaurant that all three of my kids enjoy- boys 17, little girl 10. We've tried several in the past with at least one of them not really caring for their food. They don't bitch about it mind you, but as a dad I tend to feel bad when I can tell they just aren't enjoying what they eat. Also finding a place they don't frequent with their mom or her side of the family presents a whole new set of challenges. Anyways... we tried Tony Cs a little over a year ago, and everyone was happy! My little girl- easiest of the three- orders their small spaghetti every freaking time and loves it! One of my boys orders either a whole pizza or the chicken parm. Now my other son started with the chicken parm and noodles, but has switched to the chicken parm sandwich. And we always order at least one toasted ravioli. Everything, every time.... cooked so consistently- ZERO issues! The servers are always friendly, and Julie... not sure if she is a manager or owner but she always makes a point of coming over to talk to us. It's not just a how's everything taste. She literally takes time out of her busy schedule to basically come say hi, and she actually talks to my kids. She's a sweetheart of a lady. My fiancée and I drive by this place all the time and finally decided to check it out this past weekend. I had a glass of their sangria and it was so good and refreshing I wished I got the whole pitcher, which are 1/2 off on Sunday! To start, we got the bacon wrapped figs stuffed with Gorgonzola and drizzled with honey and a balsamic reduction. They were the PERFECT bite in taste and consistency with the sweet figs, soft salty cheese and crunchy bacon. I would honestly order three plates of those as my meal next time. We shared the goat cheese and prosciutto pizza and it was so fresh and tasty but my favorite part was the roasted garlic they topped it with. This place is my NYC Italian restaurant slice of heaven here in N Austin. While the menu has a wide array of various Italian style dishes they also have a rotation specials menu, in addition to daily specials. I have sampled many pizza places all over Austin, I consider Tony C's to be one of the best, and closest to NYC style, with a good crisp to the crust. In addition to the amazing food, the service at this particular location is great! I feel like the staff has been here for quite some time and work together well as a family. I said before this place reminds me of your typical NYC Italian restaurant. From the pictures on the walls, to the classic standard vocal music playing, the wine offerings, this place just does it for me. If I could give one suggestion, it would be to enlarge the bar area, a good portion of customers, especially regulars, just eat (and drink) at the bar instead of sitting at tables. You should know me....I know you. I've critiqued your food and pizza before. Now do you remember me? Well I am back again. Buckle up this is not going to be enjoyable. I realize getting and keeping help can be a complete challenge. Been there and have done. But your not training your staff nor are you checking out the food that comes out of your kitchen on a regular basis. You leave that to the young and I don't care personnel you have in your establishment - well for the most part. I am not sure who the young guy with the poodle haircut is who answers the phone but is he working for you or trying to be a comedian on the phone? I am not laughing....incompetent is not a laughing matter. I have traveled the world up until COVID so many times which includes Italy (many many times) and while there I tried pizza throughout the different regions as they make pizza differently dependent upon the region (but you know that). I have never had a burned pizza. But in the US near home I can. (Sigh) So let's say for argument sake, I have been in your establishment and picked up pizza to go 5 times over the past year. Now, let's play a game. How many times do you think my pizza came out on the bottom burned? No you would be wrong....not all 5 times. But 4 times. Not talking about slightly charred because the oven is hot...I am talking burned! Yes...yes...yes....I know about your oven and blah blah blah....but I also have had pizza from other places that have the SAME type of equipment you have and there pizza does not come out literally burned...so burned that it gives you a bad taste in your mouth and you don't really get to enjoy the pizza. Charred anything other than maybe the edges of a steak or a smore is not a good thing here....particularly if it's burned. Do you enjoy eating burned toast in the morning? A trained person can make a pizza without it coming out burned in a fire oven. Your staff can't. Your staff is not being trained. Get them properly trained. Check in from time to time on the quality of food....order it to go and see what you think. Don't let the staff know it's you or your food will come out perfect. For gods sake beef up the wages a little and get some experienced professionals in your restaurant. If your going to continue hiring young kids (the generation that doesn't care and still get diaper rash) then train them...keep training them. I don't think your business is as good as it used to be and it could be. You've grown lazy and complacent as a owner. For you it's the check not the top notch service, great food and returning customers. If you are not making the profits you once had then that is solely your fault. You had it going when you first opened, great food, service.....wow it was pretty good for the most part but since then, your food quality and service has tarnished or if your ordering pizza, burned. read more

So my first experience with this place was with door dash and while the pizza was a bit cold it was still good after reheating. I had no idea they were so close to my house so I decided to call in for pick up. We tried Tony C's for the first time today. They did not disappoint. We were greeted by a friendly waiter who explained how everything worked. We decided on pizza since we had never had coal fired pizza. We ordered a Margherita pizza. It was so delicious!! As I looked around I saw that there was very attentive staff everywhere. The customers were relaxed, many sipping on wine, which I will definitely try next time. Our waiter checked on us often, and told us we were entitled to a free dessert since this was our first time there. Art, who we assumed was the manager, came over to welcome us our first time there. My family decided after the movie to eat something. We went to Tony C and we were studying the menu outside when an employee asked if we had any questions about the menu. I asked a question and he answered and he went inside the restaurant. My family and I went inside and an employee didn't offer to seat us. We waited and no one showed up so we seated ourselves. We sat down and no one came with menus for 10 minutes. I saw employees standing at the entrance chatting with each other. Finally someone showed up. He handed us a menu not offering to take our drink order. Another waiter took our order. We all ordered iced tea and lemons. We got the tea and no lemon I asked for it again. The pizza was cold when we got it. It was by the slice so it didn't seem to be fresh. Their other item prices are expensive. I will take my family someplace else next time.
