First visit here and to any Mountain Mike's. We ordered a thin crust medium (12 inch) "The McKinley" which is some sort of combo with various meats and vegetables. The crust had that little bit of buttery crunch on the bottom, and nicely soft in the middle. All of the ingredients were fresh and hot. Service was fast, friendly and professional. They regularly checked on us to see how the food was and to see if we needed anything. Pleasant casual atmosphere. Good place to bring children. I felt pricing was in line with the various other new places. Great addition to the food scene. I personally prefer dining in for pizza like this for a fresh made taste. read more

This place has been open for a few months. It's very clean and all new interior. There are some games to keep kids preoccupied while dining and has 7 TV's on the walls. They offer a $12.99 AYCE on weekdays of pizza and salad, not sure if that included a fountain drink. If you're not that picky with pizza, it could be a great deal for families. I on the other hand am, so when our pizza arrived, I truly wanted to like it. Somehow there was something about it that didn't touch my palate as expected for the price. I didn't care for the crust, too thick and not fully cooked texture and tasted like a frozen pizza but topped with fresher ingredients. There was no WOW to it, the sauce reminded me of tomato paste. The staff was kind enough to bring a sample for me to taste to see if that was what I was or wasn't tasting or the lack of, I'm not sure. It definitely confirmed that I wasn't a fan of the sauce. The sauce is what makes everything, if a sauce, a salsa isn't good, I'd probably not care for the food, it's basically how I judge a restaurant. I can say that they earned 5 stars for cleanliness, 4 stars for staff. He tried so hard to get our input and I'd assume he read our thoughts and/or feedback spot on. This place is brand new, in a location where predecessors suffered. Unlike a lot of pizza places these days, it's well suited to dine-in, not just carry-out, bright and clean with a lot of tables. The service is great, though you order at the counter. Other pluses include a real salad bar (a throwback to Pizza Hut back in the day), some games for kiddos on one wall, and I do recommend the tiny, curly, and slightly crispy pepperoni you won't find elsewhere. They have some really interesting specialty pizzas, like Mod Pizza but with better crust. The downsides are that it's on the expensive side (which might be ameliorated by coupons in time) - $25 for a 3 topping medium. Some toppings like fresh tomato and spinach might be better unchopped. And noise level is an issue, which games won't help. I'll be back. read more

My husband and I came here for their lunch special (AYCE pizza and salad bar for $12.99...only available Mon-Fri). We were a little disappointed at first try...my husband skipped the "Salad" bar, as the base was only a spring mix (or as he calls it..."weeds). There was no other base options (Romaine or Iceburg would have been nice). Also, there was not a lot of toppings options. The carrots were in "stick" so, not great for a topping, and not a fan of chickpeas and beets. Only thing I could put on my salad was cucumber, small broccoli and hard boiled egg and dressing. So, just had the one serving of that. When we got there at 12:30PM, the pizzas that were under the heat lamp, seemed to have been there for awhile. I wanted to try their "Spicy Himalayan Pizza" and they only had a couple left, so I grabbed one. Both of us don't like any "veggies", so that left most of the the "combo" ones out. So, we just grabbed each a cheese pizza slice and sat. We were not impressed at first bites, as they were cold and not that flavorful. When I went back up, I asked if he had any "Meat" pizzas available? He said they would come out shortly. Meanwhile, I tried to get an unsweetened Ice Tea and the tea was out. I tried the lemonade, and it tasted strange. So, I had to go with soda, and go the "Starry", which was good, never had before. They announce when new pizzas hit the hot area, and as soon as I saw the pepperoni, I grabbed it, and brought to my husband. He found it to be tooo greasy (and could see it on the plate). I got a different cheese piece (first was thin, this seemed regular crust), and tried their BBQ chicken pizza, which usually I am not a fan of, but thought I would try. OMG, NOW...BOTH of these were the best they had had! The crust was soft and sauce was good. I went back and luckily now, a meat pizza had come up, and brought that back to my husband, and the that was not greasy and he liked it. The garlic breadsticks were great! I got, what I thought was same chicken, and realized I grabbed one with pineapple (which I just picked off). But, glad the second round was better then the first. I went up and told the guys behind the counter, that the crust was great. They said they do make it fresh daily! I think I would come back and just order that BBQ chicken pizza. I don't think I would order the pepperoni one. I wish they had a Cesar salad. I don't think it was worth $12.99 for the options they had during the lunch hour we were there. read more

First the pros. The pros are that the people were very nice and excited to work there, so that was great. I had the cheese pizza because that's how a judge a place I get a plain cheese and see how they do. My wife got kind of a supreme and they loaded it up on ingredients, they didn't really hold back. She seemed to like her pizza. Now for the cons. I don't know for sure but seems like the crust was kind of a frozen crust provided by the franchise that was reheated, and the salad was just kind of "OK." They didn't have tomatoes either which was odd but they had many other ingredients to where you could probably make a pretty decent salad. They didn't have a Caesar salad option which I thought was odd for a pizza place. I couldn't believe how high the prices were for what we got, I've purchased way better pizza around here for a lot less. It's not the worst pizza I've ever had, but I would have preferred Marco's or Papa John's to be honest when it comes to taste. Right when I walked in, it felt more like a big franchise than a place where I felt like I would get a great pizza. That was the red flag I ignored and decided to go ahead and it was about what I expected unfortunately. Personally, I wouldn't eat here again, there's just so many other better pizza options around town. Kids would probably love it just fine, but if I'm feeding kids I'd pay for something cheaper. Those are just all my observations and note that I'm pretty picky about pizza. Others may go here and absolutely love it and think I'm crazy. We've all got different tastes and preferences but that's my 2 cents. read more

My family were regulars when living in CA. Enjoyed their fresh pizzas. I was so excited when I saw they were coming to CP. unfortunately this is not the same pizza I remember. The toppings were spot on, brite zesty tomato sauce. Unfortunately the crust tasted like boboli. I will try again to see if this was just an opening day fluke. This is some of the best pizza we've had in Austin. The staff were really friendly and helped us find vegetarian options that worked for our family. First time ever trying Mountain Mike's Pizza, and man... I was seriously impressed. The food was absolutely delicious. The pizza was fresh, loaded with toppings, and honestly some of the best I've had in a long time. You can tell they actually care about the quality. What really made the experience, though, was Evan. He was super friendly, welcoming, and made us feel right at home from the second we walked in. Great customer service can make all the difference, and he definitely delivered.
