Chips & Queso
Stephen S.

Reviews weren't great so we gave it Mag's an honesty try. It might be an ok local bar but as a restaurant, I would not recommend. Service: our server was nice and seemed to be trying but execution was terrible. We ordered a quesadilla for our toddler when we ordered drinks. That was forgotten and never made it. When we ordered a pizza they asked if we wanted ranch, we said yes. When the pizza came out, they forgot the ranch...and the plates, until they came back out to refill our drinks and saw us not eating. Food & drinks: The pizza wasn't bad. Not amazing but no complaints. The queso was decent but the chips were terrible. I would've rather brought some chips from home so I could enjoyed the queso. Quesadilla? No idea because we never got it. Drinks had good prices. The beer was a good size and cold. The margarita was terrible. Instead of using lime juice, they use sweet and sour. Can't think of a worse way to ruin a marg.

Dat Bill, Thanks Cindi!

As there are already a plethora of reviews about this spot, I'll save the introduction to this place. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I have been meaning to thank this establishment for the service I received on 8/5/2022 from Cindi. The time of day that I came in, there weren't many patrons, and as such, Thing One and I were seated right away. We ordered two 10' pizzas, which were fresh and filling. Veggie Pizza- I love Americanized pizza, but who doesn't ? How many other dishes can you eat for any meal of the day?! You can top pizza with just about any ingredient you're craving and enjoy it year-round. Easily customizable, pizza can be made vegan, vegetarian, or piled with meaty options. This pizza was loaded with fresh veggies to include red onion, bell peppers, tomatoes, green and black olives, and mushrooms. The veggies on this pizza seemed to be thrown on haphazardly, and I've never had a veggie pizza like this (with both black and green olives), but it somehow worked. The kick from the red onion on the pizza balanced out the saltiness of the black olives. Mexican Martini- Ironically, the origin story of the Mexican Martini begins at an Irish bar called The Cedar Door, located in downtown ATX. So, this one should be just as good as the one served at The Cedar Door, right? Not really. Generally, a Mexican Martini should be frothy, icy, and well-balanced, which this was not. The plastic shaker served with my drink should have been an indicator that this would be a less than stellar drink. The drink itself tasted as if the mix was pre-made. The drink disappointment aside, the service provided by Cindi was prompt and friendly. This may be your place to go if you are in the mood for some bar food with popular music and TVs galore. #supportlocal

Wings are delicious, beer is great, service is outstanding. Nice place to stop to wind down after work. Nice inside with a lot of tv's. If you like sports they will have them one. One of my faves

Fabulous food, fabulous service! I can definitely understand why they are always so busy! The fried mushrooms are THE BEST!

Located next to a Randall's grocery store, It seems like an Italian restaurant but when you get in it's mainly a sports bar. There was spaghetti and a chicken fettuccini Alfredo plus fish tacos, Philly cheese steak and several varieties of burgers and a lot of appetizers on the menu. It has a full bar and wine and beer selections. My wife had the chicken park and said the chicken was good but the Alfredo sauce had no flavor at all Vic and the jar sauce from the grocery store is better. No salad and one breadstick. $10.99 The cheesesteak was good, made with prime rib for $12.99 but the little $3.00 glass of fries was not worth the price. Bill with tax and before tip = $29.20 Service was good and waitress was friendly and engaging. There was a pool table toward the back and the atmosphere was dark with a wall of TV's over the Bar and several more scattered around. Medium loud was on the overhead speakers.

Short review here. I come to maggiore's to drink and watch sports. This place is awesome. They have a huge bar, cool staff and Tv's everywhere. The food is really great too. Oh and there supposed to have a great pizza too. I can't wait to actually eat one. Great value also.

Their chicken fingers are a must have!!!! Huge and delicious. I crave/dream about them! Good salad portions to. Their burgers are big and juicy. Good deals on Sunday for drinks . Just be careful to not order premium liquor with margaritas deals, we asked for the margarita special but were then asked what tequila (so we assumed it was any tequila) our bad for not clarifying, but also tell us when you ask there is a huge up charge! Good deal on mimosas on Sunday. A few employees with masks below noses, made me feel slightly unsafe, saw managers pass them and say nothing. (Luckily they have food runners so the server didn't go near my food, i would have left otherwise) TVs near all the booths is a huge plus for football Sunday!

A friendly gentleman, who I presume was the owner, greeted us at the front counter. He mentioned a couple of things they were testing at the moment and while we studied the menu, he brought out some samples. We ended up loving the cherry bbq sauce and my boys both selected that for their chicken. I chose to try their maple gochujang. Caspers has a few two top tables where the boys played a game of connect 4 while we waited. About 15 minutes later our food came out, including some house made cherry limeade and peach lemonade. We took it to some nearby picnic tables and dug in. I'm happy to say, the chicken was outstanding! All three of us were very impressed. I'd like to get my hands on a bottle of the sauce! That cherry bbq would be amazing on a smoked pork butt or some ribs. The maple gochujang was sweet and mildly spicy. The crinkle fries were also crispy, hot, and delicious. We washed it all down with those homemade drinks! Home run! You can get a soft drink, an appetizer, and an entree, all for $15. Great price. I decided to get a coke zero, a wedge salad, and a habenero double smash burger with regular fries. The wedge salad comes with blue cheese, iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatos, ranch dressing with bacon bits. This was pretty good and so glad I got it. The habenero burger was really spicy and the salad with the blue cheese and ranch dressing helped put the fire out. Unless you eat habenero on a regular basis, i suggest you try one of the other burger choices. The fries were crisp and I am glad I ate a few before eating the burger so I could taste them. They were decent too. I was promptly sat and given a menu after I entered. My server was really nice, but I think she might have snickered after I ordered the burger. (Just kidding). She also answered my question about the prices of beer and even offered a refill on the soda. The layout is cool with both indoor and outdoor seating. There are booths and the bar as well. We kicked things off with the Frickles, their take on fried pickles served with a delicious jalapeño ranch. They were perfectly crispy, flavorful, and the dipping sauce was the perfect complement. For my meal, I ordered the Candied Cowboy, a juicy single patty topped with candied jalapeños, chipotle cream cheese, bacon, and lettuce. The first bite was honestly one of the best burger experiences I've ever had. The patty was seasoned to perfection, and those candied jalapeños took the flavor to a whole new level with the perfect balance of sweet and heat. My husband ordered Willie's Western Burger, and it was just as impressive, packed with bold smoky flavor in every bite. This was our first visit to The Burger Barn, but it definitely won't be our last. Amazing food, incredible flavors, and a place we'll be recommending to everyone. If you're a burger lover, do yourself a favor and give them a try!

There are two private karaoke rooms. Service was friendly and attentive. We started with some pork belly skewers / yakitori. There's a minimum of two. Decent-sized juicy flavorful pieces of pork belly. The spicy pork was good; tender and flavorful, but it was a bit oily on the bottom. The yangnum chicken wings had a good, bold flavor and were fairly large. The soy garlic could have had more sauce. We enjoyed the wings, but they could be juicier. It was a bit pricey at $28 for 15 wings. Definitely a great late night food option.

Romen is 23 and I need that on record because I refuse to believe someone that young is allowed to have this much control over a room. Came in for drinks and somehow left feeling like I had just met the mayor, my therapist, and my long-lost best friend all in one shift. Romen was our bartender and I genuinely cannot explain the experience. First of all, this man has the most beautiful smile I have ever seen behind a bar. Like, sir??? I came here for a drink, not to start rethinking my entire personality and whether I should move cities and start over. The service was genuinely exceptional. He was attentive without hovering, hilarious without being annoying, and somehow remembered everything we ordered while simultaneously making everyone around the bar feel like they were his favorite customer. At one point, I watched Romen handle a situation so smoothly that I genuinely thought, "This man has either worked in customer service for 40 years or has survived something absolutely unimaginable." He looked like he could talk someone down from a breakup, a panic attack, and a tax audit all in the same breath. The funniest part is that he has this innocent, sweet smile while saying the most OUT-OF-POCKET things imaginable. I was not emotionally prepared. One minute you're casually ordering a drink, the next you're laughing so hard you're choking on air and questioning if he's legally allowed to be that funny while pouring tequila. 10/10 service. 10/10 personality. 11/10 smile.Would absolutely come back and let Romen financially ruin me one cocktail at a time. If you see Romen behind the bar, sit down immediately. You are in good hands.

Everything started off strong: great, friendly service, hot mozzarella sticks with the best cheese pull, and a great time surrounded by current baseball and volleyball games. Things went downhill when our food came out. Our wings were lukewarm, along with our fries and tots being cold to the touch. We asked the waitress about our side salad and informed them our food was cold... Both our jumbo and monster baskets went back to the kitchen. I applaud the staff for making our food fresh but why did it have to take 15-20 minutes while many tables were receiving their food first? Being seated at 8:00p and finally receiving our food around 9:10 everyone was definitely hangry. The food came out HOT and fresh! But still no side salad until we asked a third time. No check in from the management to confirm everything came out a second time better or asking if our experience was good. One other things our 12 year old spotted in the restroom was the female employees rushing in to eat leftover food in the bathroom? Changing table was pulled down and utilized as a table? Disgusting. Unsanitary. Distasteful. We wanted to give this place a second chance after not coming here for 2-3 years but unfortunately pluckers still has not redeemed itself. After the scene in the bathroom.. we are reluctant to return to this location.
