First time visit with two others. Mexican street corn mushy and not flavorful. Boiled shrimp were excellent with Old Bay seasoning and tangy cocktail sauce. Large and plump, too! Barbecue ribs tasted as if they had been frozen with boring bbq sauce. Hamburger with ghost pepper cheese was almost inedible! Server was attentive and related that her coworkers had not tried much of the menu and weren't familiar enough to make recommendations. Had minimal expectations going here based on other negative reviews I saw. Initially I was impressed by the ambiance, the parking lot was full but we only had to wait about 15 minutes ( lunch time) and the entrance is beautiful and has a nice big patio. Our server was okay ( although not wearing her mask appropriately) but felt rushed and was quick to interrupt you forgot one of our appetizers. The wings were excellent- huge fan. Our friend ordered the aioli on the side and our waitress confirmed with him when ordering but when the food arrived the aioli was on the sandwich. The replacement sandwich took about 25 minutes to arrive and there was no customer service recovery. Grouper sandwich was tasty but pricing was unclear and when we were told the price it was not pleasing. May return for ambiance and wings but not for the rest of the food or the service. read more

Nice ambiance and outdoor area but food is not good. Ordered $20 burger and $8 cheese quesadilla for my son. Burger was served on a metal tray and was just okay but quesadilla was disgusting. I took a bite of it and spit it out. The cheese was nasty. I threw it away. read more

So much potential so little execution. Food-okay. Service-standard. Ambiance-you can't just thrive off appearances alone. They really should do something with their Ambiance. People have typically paid this increased cost of food because of the experience you get built into the visit. However, there is no return on the cost. The menu is bland, the food is not terribly tasty but not horrible and in my opinion, the food and the theme do not connect as well as it may be intended to. I really dislike going there but we do not have many restaurants on this level in the area and it's always a last resort when you're hopeful for food and atmosphere and just willing to deal; or if someone not local comes to this side and you don't have anywhere else in the south Brandon/north Riverview area to go to. I know if something better comes in with a better, more fun, experience, AND better Food variety and taste, it would beat this place out 9 times over. Watched the place being built, Great spot, plenty or room as its a large space. Not enough room at the outdoor bar to sit at the bar, but plenty of tables. I had the Fish & Chips, wow huge! and awesome. All of the servers are great and the bartenders work their butts off, especially Michieala and Angelica! Met some peeps from Rochester NY, not many outdoor style places to go in Riverview so this is a great addition. read more

The venue and atmosphere was nice, much bigger than I expected, someone put a lot of time and money into it. Prices were a little too high, service was good but somewhat uninspired. We had many different food items, and I tried most of them. Shrimp were good, cheese grits and rice were average. Cod dinner was big serving and good, cole slaw was bad. Came here with my husband after driving by it a couple times. We were sat immediately outside and it was beautiful! The server was awesome! We had a view of the water, with our drinks and appetizers it was perfect. I ordered the crab cake sandwich and it was awesome!! The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the dessert, we ordered the banana bread ice cream sandwich! Other then that, everything was awesome! read more

My family stopped at Tiki Docks in Riverview for a drink and appetizers around 1 pm. The atmosphere was nice, not too noisy and good music in the background. There is seating inside and out, it was a little cool outside so we sat inside. Our waitress, Allieandres was great, friendly and quick to bring us drinks when we asked. We all had different appetizers and they were all tasty and good portions. The buffalo chicken wings were great as was the fish spread, the volcano shrimp sauce was excellent, the mini crab cakes were delicious. The price was reasonable by our standard. This place is to die for. Almost an addiction as 2 or 3 times a week is the normal. May I recommend the fish and chips or cod sandwich. The cod is served in a light breading. Thats great. But the size of the cod either as a ,platter or sandwich, is about 12" give or take an inch. Honest to god, I tried several different platters. The crab cakes are a must. The burgers are made with only the best in quality meats. Try the chicken nuggets. You will want them as your meal. Simply, I love this place. Richard B., Riverview, 5/22/2021My family really likes this place -- the ambiance, proximity to the Alafia River, the cascading waterfall, the food and the aptitudes we encountered.  We have been here maybe 5 times within the last three months, most recently Friday night, May 20.  It always seems like a party atmosphere.  I had a really good Pina colada, pineapple rice and shrimp; wife had a hamburger dockburger, sister-in-law had tacos, b-i-l also had the chicken & rice.  All were pleased with the meals.  We sat outside and the wall of flowing water provided both a sound- and visual-barrier from Highway 301.  In the past, I eaten their fish & chips, a large serving of lightly encrusted fish, probably cod, and it was hot and delicious.   Previously, I was sitting outside and a big, fat honeybee splash-dived into my nearly full beer; the waitress promptly replaced the beer. It's the kind of place where you can strike up a conversation with someone and he/she won't assume you are hitting on them.   Fine dining this is not; it's casual dining.  It's a place for fun, great beverages and good food at reasonable prices.  The tropical/tiki drinks are all sensational and I believe my family has tasted all of them, even the pre-made drinks from the machines.  So far, I have visited Tiki Docks at various times with the above-named family members, daughter, son-in-law. adult granddaughter and 2 grandsons. Not a complaint among them. However, I do have a criticism.  Why are there no tiki mugs for sale?  We would love to buy nice ceramic tiki mugs in the gift shop or order an over-priced tiki drink that included the price of the mug.  It would be perfect if they sold tiki mugs that looked like the ones that make up the facade of the building.  Anyhow, this family does like Tiki Docks and highly recommend it.  We will be going back next week.UsefulFunnyCool read more

It's 3:22pm. We wanted to sit outside and inquired about the three empty tables we saw while standing in line to speak to the hostess. She said there was a 30 minute wait even though those tables were empty, we couldn't sit there because they had reservations for the evening. Seriously, a concern at 3:22pm? She offered the bar which was first come/first served so we left her area and went outside to the bar. There weren't enough seats at the bar for our party of four, but there were an additional 7 tables empty outside. Total mismanagement at this place. read more

Extremely disappointed in management -I have been coming here for a while and sat at the bar most of the time - the staff was amazing Problem always being management - on this particular day I overheard the management and staff belittling and berating bartenders while they were working very hard and on their feet all day. Like I said before I'm a frequent customer here due to how great the staff is over all, it is clear management is not on their side. Seems there is a frequent sliding door with the staff here. If you don't want to loose all your customers you need to respect and appreciate your bartenders that work so hard with no complaints- Managemnent you need to step it up alot. Be kind to your servers and bartenders guests notice it and will not be returning to this establishment unfortunately read more

The hostesses were very friendly when we walked in. We opted to be seated outside by the Alfia River since it was such a beautiful day. The scenery was perfect. However our waiter was unfriendly. He looked very angry and offered no eye contact. He seemed very miserable yet was very efficient at fetching our food and drinks. I'm choosing not to mention him by name because I know what it is like to hate my job and just go into auto pilot while trying to get through the shift uneventfully. The watermelon was a refreshing treat with a jalapeno cilantro queso sauce. Their fries are really good. We enjoyed shrimp fried rice with pineapple which I was leery of but the pineapple was a nice touch and not overpowering. The crab cake sandwich was also good. Had to take leftovers home. It was a relaxing afternoon and the scenery was well worth it watching the boats drive by. I noticed the big fountain but it wasn't running. Hopefully next time I'll get to see it. They have a variety of very tasty looking drinks that I will also look forward to trying next time. read more

Swang by for lunch on Saturday. I love Tiki Docks. I had the best service I have ever had there. Our waitress was named Bridget. She answered all our questions about the food and drinks and did not have to look at the menu once. She was honest and admitted that she had not tried a lot of the entrees because she is vegetarian, but she told us what other diners seemed to like and which dishes she had tried that were vegetarian or she was able to request changes to be vegetarian. We did have a vegan in our party so Bridget was absolutely wonderful helping her order. The food was very good. The service was exceptional. Bridget was always checking on us, refilling drinks, clearing plates when we were done, etc. All the things you want your waitress to do. We went to Tiki Docks as a family. The wait was extremely long (almost two hours) and being that I have a one year old, it felt longer. Once seated we ordered right away! Our server was nice but you can tell she was really busy... She tried to keep our drinks filled but kept mixing up the drinks. There food was good so I'm glad went... We have wanted to go here for quite some time now. We made a reservation and asked to eat inside, as rain was threatening. There were plenty of empty tables and the servers didn't seem overly burdened. However, service was super slow. It took forever for a draft beer to be delivered. I get it though, maybe the kitchen or the bar was under staffed. It happens everywhere. But we were all underwhelmed by the food. I got the steamed shrimp dinner. The shrimp and the corn were over cooked and my potatoes were under cooked. The three others with me all agreed the food was just ok.... nothing special. One commented that the fries were just like something you'd pull out of your freezer. When you also consider that the prices were a bit high for the area... not worth it. Between the slow service and the less than average food, we might try again, but we're in no hurry. read more

I've been waiting to check this place out! (Wanted to let the crazy crowds die down some since it's brand new). I met two of my friends here for dinner. We sat inside since the Rays were playing . It took about 20 mins to get a table and that was at 630pm. The decor in the restaurant is literally amazing and the architecture is beautiful!! Gotta see it for yourself! The food was fantastic! We ordered the fish spread with cucumber slices and pork rhines, chicken wings, and crab cakes. Everything was delish! Drinks were nice and strong and the service was quick and polite. After dinner, we sat outside at their bar on the patio! The big waterfall outside blocks almost all of the car noise and the music playing was great for the atmosphere. Definitely look forward to going back and trying more food and drinks! Only thing... menu and drinks are a little pricey for the area. Positive note... right before this place opened my friends and I were out kayaking down this river. There totally is a little spot that you can pull your kayak up to, tie to a tree and walk up to the restaurant! read more

Great concept and beautiful restaurant, but the food leaves MUCH to be desired. We ordered the $13 ceviche, which is a must for us anytime we see it on a menu because it's pretty hard to mess it up especially in Florida. This place messed it up. Absolutely no flavor, no lime, no "citrus medley", just frozen pre-steamed fish and shrimp mix thawed, put in a bowl with chopped cucumber and tomato on top. We should have known then to send it back and just leave but we drove 45 minutes to give this place a shot, so we stayed. My husband ordered the coconut shrimp which consisted of (6) shrimp (again, no flavor at all) and frozen crinkle cut fries. The $16 portion was so small the food runner that brought us our food thought it was a "kids chicken meal". ‍ I ordered the Alafia Tacos for $17, which surprisingly had good flavor, but again were small enough to fit in the palm of my hand and came with plain tortilla chips on the side and nothing to eat with them. Needless to say $70 later, my husband is still hungry and I'm not impressed. Hopefully they will spend some money on an actual Polynesian experienced chef since most reviews mention the poor flavor and serve bigger portions for the money they're charging. I get it's a new fancy building but the customer shouldn't be paying off the construction bill especially if the food doesn't even taste good. Definitely a place to get drinks, but skip the food! read more

I have been wanting to try this place for quite some time and finally made it out for a Sunday lunch recently. At first glance when looking at the parking lot, we thought the place would be jam packed.Do not let the parking lot fool you.This restaurant is huge.I have been wondering if there were docks for boat parking and from what we could see, there is not. The weather was quite nice so we decided to eat outside. As we sat and waited for our server, we listened to live music.A lot of restaurants I have been to with music play the music so loud you can't hear the people next to you.Luckily, this was not the case here.The music was enjoyable and the volume was low enough for you to still enjoy the company you came with. A huge yet tranquil waterfall is outside for your enjoyment as well. As for the food: I had a perfect 10 dockwich.It wasn't to die for but it wasn't terrible either. If you don't do seafood, you pretty much only have 5 things to choose from. As for drinks, I ordered a Shirley Temple and it wasn't that great. All in all, I would still go back strictly based on the atmosphere.Next time I will try something new and will hopefully have better feedback regarding the food. read more
