4.4* (out of 5) Food: 4* Atmosphere: 4* Value: 5* Service: 4* Would I go back / Recommend?: 5* (Definitely) Total check/person: $19 02/01/2026 While quality food might not be the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of a Diner, I found The Wooden Spoon to be a solid stop for brunch. We were looking for a reasonable yet good place for a hearty brunch between Mass and the Lightning Stadium Series game - and that is this place fit the bill perfectly! The three of us ordered the Triple Decker Reuben (see picture), Two Eggs Your Way (see picture) and Buffalo Chicken Wrap (see picture). As we usually do in the family, we shared tastes of each of our dishes and found each of them to be very good - definitely above average. I especially liked the sweet potato fries and the sauce that was served with the Reuben. If you are looking for a hearty meal and a good value, you won't go wrong at The Wooden Spoon in Riverview. First time here. Got eggs Benedict. Was average. Not great not horrible. Sauce was good but a little too thick. Hash browns under seasoned but cooked nicely. Place is ok if you are near it

We were so excited to have a breakfast option in this area of Riverview. I would like to say that everyone was very friendly. The food was a big challenge for us at breakfast. Maybe the lunch or other items are better, I can only review what we ate. First the prices are a bit high. Our Eggs Benedict was $13 dollars and came ala carte. Im not sure who their chef is or how they make this dish or was not good. The sauce is so yellow and thick and flavorless. The english muffin flat and dry and the Canadian bacon had an odd after taste. I ate part of one and everything remained on my plate. The sausage and gravy was equally unacceptable. We had to order a sausage patty so there was sausage in the gravy. It was thick, clumpy, stuck to the fork upside down and im not sure where they acquired the biscuits they were flat and not good. The sausage patty had some kick to it and I did eat a couple bites of the patty. The coffee was very watered down too. All in $60 for 2 Eggs Benedict, sausage and gravy, side of sausage, side of hasbrowns and side of grits. I really hope this is because they are new and figuring things out. On a possitive note the hasbrowns were yummy and the people are nice.

This was our first time at the new location. The service was great and the food as well. My wife and I stopped in for lunch the first time i had the fish fry. We both enjoyed it very much. The fries were seasoned and cooked great witch is a good start. The coleslaw was good and I usually don't like coleslaw from restaurants but this one was good. Now the fish battery seasoned and cooked to perfection. We will be back to try more from the menu. All and all 8.1 on this visit.

This place came up on my FB feed while scrolling. Ad caught my attention with the weekend specials…read more We drove over tonight to give it a try. We ordered the shot honey grouper sandwich, bang bang shrimp fries, fried shrimp and grouper bites. Three were weekend specials for $9.99. That price and quality cannot be beat! The hot honey grouper was awesome. Very nice filet of grouper with hot honey on it. Sweet, spicy and freshly cooked. 10/10. Fries were freshly fried and had a nice seasoning. Great meal. My son had the grilled grouper bites. They were cooked perfectly and he devoured them. 2 thumbs up! Other son had the shrimp basket. Fried shrimp were juicy and crispy. Not over battered. Great taste and another 2 thumbs up. Bang bang shrimp fries were really good. Not hot but had great flavor. Fries had a ton of bacon and that yummy sauce drizzled over them. Would get again. 9/10. Easy to find, plenty of parking. Nice outdoor area with about 6 tables. Service was friendly and quick. Price was great for fresh seafood. We drove about 30 minutes and it was worth the drive!

I gone to Ruskin Seafood Shack twice to pick up food. The seafood is good, but we're not big fans…read more The blackened grouper sandwich was tasty enough, but the bottom bun was swimming in liquid. It was very hard to eat it as sandwich. The side red potatoes were a step up from coleslaw. We also tried the lobster roll on an earlier visit. It was bland to OK, but definitely not a price performer. We absolutely love the Ruskin Seafood Market for fresh fish. Very good selection and I guess ultimately we prefer to fix our own seafood.
