We were looking for a reasonable yet good place for a hearty brunch between Mass and the Lightning Stadium Series game - and that is this place fit the bill perfectly! The three of us ordered the Triple Decker Reuben (see picture), Two Eggs Your Way (see picture) and Buffalo Chicken Wrap (see picture). As we usually do in the family, we shared tastes of each of our dishes and found each of them to be very good - definitely above average. I especially liked the sweet potato fries and the sauce that was served with the Reuben. If you are looking for a hearty meal and a good value, you won't go wrong at The Wooden Spoon in Riverview. We've gone three times for breakfast, hoping it would get better. I had the pancakes, eggs and sausage. Each time I ask for my eggs over easy, each time they come hard, very little yellow. The pancakes are dry. Hubby had omelet very little ham or cheese. Bland no seasoning. For $50.00 this is unacceptable. The second time, hubby had French toast special, Boston Creme it was just a pile of custard, French toast soggy.. I had the Benedict special, the hollandaise sauce was bland. Again price was over 50.00 without tip. The last time we had the sausage and gravy, no sausage could be seen. The pork tenderloin was huge but tasteless. I am still hoping they get it together but for the price and poor quality, I'll keep going to the scrambled egg or Martha's read more

We were seated quickly but then had to wait a bit to order as there was confusion as to whose table it was. Once we ordered our coffee it was better. We had veggie omelet and eggs with corn beef hash and grits. The omelet was pretty good but the tomato was really under ripe, wish they would have told me. The corn beef was crispy and grits were ok. Overall a fair breakfast. We had not been to a Wooden Spoon with a bar in it, very interesting. read more

We were so excited to have a breakfast option in this area of Riverview. I would like to say that everyone was very friendly. The food was a big challenge for us at breakfast. Maybe the lunch or other items are better, I can only review what we ate. First the prices are a bit high. Our Eggs Benedict was $13 dollars and came ala carte. Im not sure who their chef is or how they make this dish or was not good. The sauce is so yellow and thick and flavorless. The english muffin flat and dry and the Canadian bacon had an odd after taste. I ate part of one and everything remained on my plate. The sausage and gravy was equally unacceptable. We had to order a sausage patty so there was sausage in the gravy. It was thick, clumpy, stuck to the fork upside down and im not sure where they acquired the biscuits they were flat and not good. The sausage patty had some kick to it and I did eat a couple bites of the patty. The coffee was very watered down too. All in $60 for 2 Eggs Benedict, sausage and gravy, side of sausage, side of hasbrowns and side of grits. I really hope this is because they are new and figuring things out. This was our first time at the new location. The service was great and the food as well. My wife and I stopped in for lunch the first time i had the fish fry. We both enjoyed it very much. The fries were seasoned and cooked great witch is a good start. The coleslaw was good and I usually don't like coleslaw from restaurants but this one was good. Now the fish battery seasoned and cooked to perfection. We will be back to try more from the menu. All and all 8.1 on this visit. read more

This place was excellent. The corned beef hash was made from actual corn beef. Not that canned stuff that looks like poor dog food. And the whole fries were actually sliced up potatoes cooked on a grill with seasoning. Not a little squares stuck in a deep fryer. The menu is huge and if you can't find what you're looking for, then it doesn't exist. read more

Saturday morning, busy but still had some open tables. Breakfast and lunch only (close at 2:30pm) but both served when open. Server nice. Food plentiful and good. Go once and you will go back. I stumbled across this diner shortly after they opened. The entire staff from the owner to the hostesses are very welcoming and attentive. By my 3rd visit they were all greeting me by my first name. The food on the regular menu is delicious plus, they offer daily specials that rival Mom's Sunday meals. I go at least once a week and each experience is better than the one before. The entire Wooden Spoon team is bought into the concept of providing great food and service...highly recommend! read more

Loved the Brandon location, delighted to have this location open so close to us. We love the pork tenderloin sandwich. Today my husband had the chicken fried steak again. I had Rick's special, which was eggs, bacon and French toast. I didn't take a before picture but right now my plate is perfectly clean. Delicious. We'll be back. A lot. read more

Wonderful atmosphere and above average service. Quick and accurate!! But, below average food quality. prepackaged Ingredients, sliced cheese squares on omelets, pre diced ham pieces, not cooked well and warm not hot. Canned corn beef hash, etc.... It's always reliable with consistently good quality ingredients. Their seasonal Pumpkin Oolong Milk Tea is always a winner. So, what has changed? The menu now includes soft or crispy sushi tacos. They have 4 different kinds. I tried the crispy shell with smoked salmon. I LOVE it!! I almost ordered another one, but it would have been too much with the ramen. I can't wait to get it again. I really love that fried maki wrap. It's so light & crunchy. It really does add a good amount of texture to the sushi along with the cucumber. So, I almost got one of the 4 different udons on the menu. It was going to be a toss up between the Kimchi Shrimp and the Black Garlic. Again, it was the beautiful pictures on the menu that lured me in. Ah, but I went with the ramen instead. I will definitely try the udon next time. I was told that the Kimchi Shrimp is very popular. If that's not enough to tempt you, then you must check out the dessert menu. I saw items such as Matcha Cheesecake and Vanilla Crepe Cake that definitely caught my eye. I'm already thinking about my next lunch order. I love the rebranding and the new menu. The service is still great as well as the ambiance in the dining area. It's a place that will always keep me coming back for more. Update: Get the Kimchi Shrimp Udon. It's that Korean inspired udon dish that almost tastes Italian. Absolutely delicious! I ordered the grilled chicken Caesar wrap which came with kettle chips and a soft drink. The chicken in the wrap was plentiful and the lettuce was fresh. While I could have used a little more Caesar dressing the wrap was very filling. The chips had a light dusting of seasoning to give them a good flavor and there were more than I could eat. In total lunch ran me $14 which seemed a bit high for the meal but the quality and service was spot on which helped to offset my feelings on the cost. Yelp pro tip - don't rely on photos of menus unless they're current. Yelp has many photos of Candor Grill's menu and items that referrences the grilled chicken Caesar wrap as $7.95 except that was four years ago. I've added their current menu to help other Yelpers.
