Went to this place about two weeks ago with my wife. We were hoping to have found a new place to eat in Riverview. It was terrible and we left vowing to never return. This morning, finding myself in Riverview I thought maybe they might do breakfast better. Foolish me. Awful doesn't really describe it fully. Terrible comes close. I wouldn't feed the Eggs Benedict to my dog and he isn't very discriminating. Had bacon on the side. Couldn't eat it. Go there at your peril. You've been warned. Waitress was nice. read more

The three of us ordered the Triple Decker Reuben (see picture), Two Eggs Your Way (see picture) and Buffalo Chicken Wrap (see picture). As we usually do in the family, we shared tastes of each of our dishes and found each of them to be very good - definitely above average. We've gone three times for breakfast, hoping it would get better. I had the pancakes, eggs and sausage. Each time I ask for my eggs over easy, each time they come hard, very little yellow. The pancakes are dry. Hubby had omelet very little ham or cheese. Bland no seasoning. For $50.00 this is unacceptable. The second time, hubby had French toast special, Boston Creme it was just a pile of custard, French toast soggy.. I had the Benedict special, the hollandaise sauce was bland. Again price was over 50.00 without tip. The last time we had the sausage and gravy, no sausage could be seen. The pork tenderloin was huge but tasteless. We were so excited to have a breakfast option in this area of Riverview. I would like to say that everyone was very friendly. The food was a big challenge for us at breakfast. Maybe the lunch or other items are better, I can only review what we ate. First the prices are a bit high. Our Eggs Benedict was $13 dollars and came ala carte. Im not sure who their chef is or how they make this dish or was not good. The sauce is so yellow and thick and flavorless. The english muffin flat and dry and the Canadian bacon had an odd after taste. I ate part of one and everything remained on my plate. The sausage and gravy was equally unacceptable. We had to order a sausage patty so there was sausage in the gravy. It was thick, clumpy, stuck to the fork upside down and im not sure where they acquired the biscuits they were flat and not good. The sausage patty had some kick to it and I did eat a couple bites of the patty. The coffee was very watered down too. All in $60 for 2 Eggs Benedict, sausage and gravy, side of sausage, side of hasbrowns and side of grits. I really hope this is because they are new and figuring things out. This was our first time at the new location. The service was great and the food as well. My wife and I stopped in for lunch the first time i had the fish fry. We both enjoyed it very much. The fries were seasoned and cooked great witch is a good start. The coleslaw was good and I usually don't like coleslaw from restaurants but this one was good. Now the fish battery seasoned and cooked to perfection. We will be back to try more from the menu. All and all 8.1 on this visit. read more

This place was excellent. The corned beef hash was made from actual corn beef. Not that canned stuff that looks like poor dog food. And the whole fries were actually sliced up potatoes cooked on a grill with seasoning. Not a little squares stuck in a deep fryer. Go once and you will go back. I stumbled across this diner shortly after they opened. The entire staff from the owner to the hostesses are very welcoming and attentive. By my 3rd visit they were all greeting me by my first name. The food on the regular menu is delicious plus, they offer daily specials that rival Mom's Sunday meals. I go at least once a week and each experience is better than the one before. The entire Wooden Spoon team is bought into the concept of providing great food and service...highly recommend! read more

Saturday morning, busy but still had some open tables. Breakfast and lunch only (close at 2:30pm) but both served when open. Server nice. Food plentiful and good. But, below average food quality. prepackaged Ingredients, sliced cheese squares on omelets, pre diced ham pieces, not cooked well and warm not hot. Canned corn beef hash, etc....
