This has become a favorite in Brandon. I've been there several times since. The service is impeccable. They are on their A game. We got our order in. I don't recall what I got but was definitely good. Lots of great choices if you're into having a big breakfast. The coffee is on point and cups refilled almost continuously. The place has a lot of open seating. And there's usually a big crowd. I would advise you to get there early before the rush. I really hate saying this but can be a bit pricey. I think I paid $40.00 for my girlfriend and I. But I like it there and will continue to go.

I met my Dad for a nice breakfast while I was in town. There was only a short 15 minute wait on a busy Saturday morning. I ordered the Country Benedict with a side of grits. Those grits were the best I have ever eaten!! I only wish I lived closer so I could have them on a regular basis. My Dad had Gayle's omelet which he said was delicious. We both left with another meal or two!

Tried out Himes Breakfast House today! Didn't have to wait long for a table which was nice! Classic diner style restaurant, southern type cooking. They have mostly breakfast items but some lunch items as well. Our table had the Shrimp and Grits, chicken pot pie, Jesse Bowl, country fried steak and the Lumberjack bowl. They do offer mimosas too, which we got some strawberry ones! I personally thought the Chicken Pot Pie had way too much rosemary, that's all I could taste. The gravy for the biscuits and gravy was very good! Grits were great as well. Prices were decent as well!

Southern comfort with a side of consistency-Brandon edition. We were loyal to the OG Tampa location on S Himes Ave right by the bay. Perfect for a pre-MacDill pit stop. Quick service, laid-back energy, and a mix of regulars who keep to themselves, smile kindly, or hit you with that "we've seen some things" nod, especially if you're a fellow veteran. The vibe is unspoken but solid. So when the Brandon location opened? That was a non-negotiable visit. It's close to home, so naturally, we had to check it out and we've been frequent flyers ever since. Let's talk food. I say I'll switch it up...but I never do. Southern Fried Catfish is my go-to every. single. time. It's seasoned beautifully, perfectly crispy on the outside, tender inside, and crowned with a fresh slice of lemon. Sides? I bounce between the grits or home fries. Now real talk... the grits are hit or miss depending on if they're cooked in broth/seasoned water (chef's kiss) or water (seasoning... where?). Now the home fries NEVER miss. seasoned, sautéed with onions and peppers, and always cooked just right. Pro tip: Upgrade your toast to a lemon pancake. You're welcome. Light, fluffy, citrusy bliss. Also love that they support local, if I'm not mistaken, their baked goods come from a nearby bakery. That kind of collab deserves a standing ovation. Every time I have out-of-town guests or friends who haven't been, this is my top recommendation. I don't ask "Where do you wanna go?" I send the menu and wait for the "We need to go ASAP" text. This isn't just a breakfast spot it's a part of our routine now. Good food, efficient service, welcoming vibe. If you're in Brandon and haven't tried it yet...what are you doing? Go get that catfish. It's like any other one of the meal breakfast house a cute little ambience long wait. I got pancakes and the options for syrup were awesome. There was one that tasted like coffee another that tasted like lemon curd and then just a regular syrup. I think that was the highlight of my meal when it comes to service when we were sitting. We had to ask the house to wipe the seats down as they were riddled with crumbs and old food from the people that were there before, and she looked at us like we had asked her to build us a house with her bare hands, our actual server was amazing. She had great suggestion. She had a nice demeanor. She was attentive and she was on the ball For her. I would come back.

Himes is the Bomb of a breakfast establishment. Food was over the top. Yes. Yes, it was eggs for breakfast but Himes gives everything an upscale flavor. Fried green tomatoes were light, crunchy, and tasty. Too many places serves this dish swimming in grease; NOT Himes. Their 4-egg omelettes are huge! The 'Sogs -n- Nogs' has a red pepper hollandaise sauce that was over the top. Coffee is a medium to dark breakfast roast. Decent flavor and they provided us a carafe for each person for endless refills.

Had a nice breakfast here last weekend. Even though packed with a line, we still got in after about 20 minutes. Plenty of room outside to wait with some chairs inside as well. If you remember this location from Estella's and Jimmy Hulas they have done a great job inside. Really bright inside with plenty of tables. Like the nice clean look. Nice menu with choices but not overwhelming. Servers were friendly and quick to serve and refill drinks. We got Good morning French Toast, Bougie Bennie, Lumberjack Bowl and an Omelette. Coffee to drink. Bougie Bennie was a hit. Poached eggs on top of thick cut ham on a waffle. A great twist on Benedict. Very tasty and filling. The honey Dijon hollandaise was a great compliment to the dish. Everything worked well together. With a side of home fries that were perfectly cooked and crispy. 10/10. Rest of the group enjoyed their dishes as well. French toast was huge and had so much fresh fruit. The lumberjack bowl was loaded and flavorful. The omelette was very good and had plenty of toppings inside. Their homemade biscuits were a hit and pleasant surprise. Definitely a top place to get breakfast in the area. We will be back again..

This place is an absolute MUST for breakfast/brunch. The menu options had great variety and everyone at my table really enjoyed their food. The service we experienced was friendly and hospitable. It is a very clean and family friendly environment with great tasting food on the menu. We're going to be regulars for sure.

We've had this spot on our list for a while! I knew I wanted to try a bunch of things off the menu so that's what we did! Carb load alert! We ordered 1 pancake, 1 Belgian waffle, 1 French toast, the catfish breakfast with home fries and scrambled eggs, a side of loaded grits and a side of bacon. Our server was awesome and even made recommendations for our next visit! The pancake and French toast were delicious. The waffle was a little too sweet for me even with no syrup. The catfish was delish until we got to the middle and realized it wasn't all the way quite cooked through. Our server was apologetic and removed it from the bill. It was packed when we first arrived, but the wait wasn't too long at about 5 mins, but I can definitely see why the folks were there. I enjoyed most of the items and am intrigued enough to come back to try some other lunch items.

Bright. Clean. Casual. Friendly. Super efficient. Welcoming. Modern, but not cold. Himes Breakfast House is all of this and more. Rise and shine, indeed! But I can't go any further with this review until I say three things: butter! rum! syrup!!!!!!!! It comes with the bananas foster French toast and together, they're life changing. Delicious, delightful, divine... and you get a huge, gorgeous serving. I'm breathless just thinking about it. I better pull myself together and start a new paragraph. So, this is HBH's second local location. The other is in south Tampa and I've been there, too. This one is along SR 60 in Brandon-in the old Jimmy Hula's location, just west of the Lithia Pinecrest intersection. It's been painted and spruced up, in the same gray, white, orange and blue color scheme as the original. I wandered in on a Tuesday morning and was seated right away. It wasn't crowded right then, but it was busy. I agree with the others-it has a "modern diner" feel to it. It's sunny, fresh and warm, thanks to the cheerful staff and all the natural light. My server-Haven, I believe-was extremely nice and attentive. She was as pleasant as the surroundings I couldn't have been happier. They have an extensive breakfast lineup (I'm trying the lemon ricotta pancakes next time) and a lunch menu as well. I also spotted mimosas on the menu-and I believe they do brunch on the weekends. There's ample parking (look around the corner-there's more than meets the eye, when you first turn in) and lots of tables. Bravo, Himes! This is a great addition to the Brandon dining scene.

The interior is decorated in a country theme without being overbearing. Menu is very extensive. The service was excellent, very attentive to your needs as far as refilling drinks and whatnot. The food was fabulous, and the portions are very generous. The dining area was impeccably clean. I would not hesitate to return here again.

Stopped in for brunch on a late Friday morning and we were greeted and seated immediately! There's a parking lot connected to the building so no trouble there. The atmosphere is like an upscale diner, with welcoming faces all around. Super cute and a great breakfast/brunch vibe! Our waitress was super helpful and gave us some recommendations for what to try (she loves the red pepper hollandaise!). I ended up going with the Himes BLT but swapped the chorizo bacon for regular bacon. I loved it, especially the twist of the fried green tomatoes! The fries were delicious and perfectly crispy. And the garlic aioli had pieces of roasted garlic inside....so good. We also got the Grilled Gouda, which my friend loved, as well as 2 Eggs with Pork Belly, Home Fries, and Toast. They loved the pork belly in both of those dishes, not something you usually see at a diner! My other friend loved her Sogs and Nogs omelet with the red pepper hollandaise as recommended by our waitress! We tried a Pancake as well but it was nothing to write home about it. Prices were all incredibly reasonable, especially for the portion sizes and speed of service! I absolutely recommend Himes and it is definitely in our regular brunch rotation now! You need to give this gem a try!

Also, the food was bad. Like everything. Grisly gnarled chicken, inedible, dry cornbread, and nasty mac and cheese. I didn't try anything else because it was so gross. My family members also hated their food. Staff waited until the last minute to refill things as it seemed like someone is opting to cut some sharp corners. Again, I felt bad for everyone working there. It seemed busy enough to turn a profit, yet there was something depressing about the vibe. I came here last year with my dad, and it wasn't like this, so it was disappointing. We were relieved to get out for under $100, but it was just nightmare fuel. Not worth it.
