At a shopping center in Riverview is Cali. It is very modern looking inside with high top tables outside. It has a nice overhang that keeps you cool during the hot weather. The service is amazing. The staff was attentive and helpful. I wish the food was better. I was in the mood for a salad. The first disappointment was that they only gave 3 choices. I am on a gluten free diet and didn't have a problem with that. I did have a problem with the fact that 2 out of 3 salads had cheese in it and is not for someone who adheres to a dairy free diet. Yes, I could have asked if the cheese could be left out. But these salads had multiple kinds of cheese. I never wanted to be that person who asks to leave out half of the ingredients because of dietary restrictions. I would have had to do that. Maybe the answer is the choice to have a custom salad for people like me. The second disappointment was that the salads had a price without any protein. When you added one of the proteins, the salad became very expensive. This was a huge turnoff. The last disappointment was the ice tea. Although there were 3 choices, two of them had ingredients to which I am allergic. The third choice had caffeine. There was really no choice other than to drink water. I've gotten a few items from Cali before along with the restaurant chain and I have not been disappointed. I can't remember the name of the bowl I got this time but it contains steak, spaghetti, squash, noodles, beans, corn, avocado and turmeric rice. It was delicious! The only downside was that I felt like they were very skimpy on the steak and if I had known how little I would get, I would've tried to get a different option. The cookie was also bomb, but it is definitely overpriced for just one cookie. Discovered this place while looking for healthier options. It was fairly empty for a Monday afternoon, we were immediately seated upon entering. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We ordered the Cali wrap , classic pizza and the dragon fruit lime drink and the hibiscus drink Both the drinks were good but maybe a little too watered down. My Cali wrap was DELICIOUS! Fresh, crispy and flavorful The pizza was always yummy, very light and buttery overall just yummy! All of this cost $43 I was pretty shocked and expected it to be much more. We were given 2 free cookies for it being our first time, I don't think they normally do that lol but grateful to taste them. Both the chocolate chip cookies were yummy and also fresh. I've gone for lunch twice and I've had great experiences with the food and the staff. The staff is always very friendly and you can tell they care. Our friends and I ordered take out from Cali and had a really great experience all around. It started with the service. We were about to order online but had some questions about the vegan options. We spoke with the manager and he answered all our questions. Feeling confident about what to order, we placed the order online. After I placed the order, I realized that I didn't change the time of pickup and it defaulted to an asap pickup. So I gave them another call, spoke to the manager, and he let us change our pickup time. Our friends went to pick up the food so I couldn't tell you much about that experience but I was told that the atmosphere and decor is very coastal and relaxed. We ordered the Taco Family Pack which comes with 12 tacos, 4 cookies, chips, guac, and salsa. It's a legit deal for $62 and we get to pick 4 of their taco options. I had the Planta and even though it's the only vegan taco options, it's a very delicious option! It comes with chickpea-lentil fritters, guac, pico de gallo, vegan cheese, and vegan lime sour cream. It was the perfect place for a quick, yummy lunch and a nice clean place to feed the baby before getting back on the road. I got the Hot & Crunchy bowl (cucumber-jicama slaw, scallions, soy sauce, guacamole, tempura onion, sesame seeds, sambal aioli) with the suggested protein - seared ahi tuna and the coconut avocado rice as my base. Wow, this bowl was amazing and so flavorful. The ahi tuna was perfectly seared and the crispy tempura onions on top added a delicious crunch. My husband got the Soo... Buff bowl (roasted cauliflower, coconut buffalo sauce, celery, crumbled blue cheese, tempura onions, lime caesar, fresh herbs) with crispy chicken and coconut avocado rice as well. He really enjoyed the flavor combinations, especially the sauce paired with the blue cheese. We also got their cucumber mint agua fresca to drink and it was so refreshing --I drank two glasses. One of my favorite spots to go to. Guaranteed to ALWAYS have a delicious and filling meal and I've never had bad service. Indoor and outdoor seating, booths and tables, the restaurant is so cute and well decorated, and the staff all seem to care about their jobs. The bowls are amazing. All fresh locally sourced food that is flavorful and absolutely delicious. The so buff bowl is the best. I got it with the crispy chicken. So good. If it's your first time there they give you a cookie and the S'mores cookie is OMG good. Taylor was our server and she was awesome. Very knowledgeable and guided us in the right direction. The max mimosa was amazing with the peach puree. The restaurant looks like it's an order at counter experience but you can sit and have a server take your order. Stoped yesterday for a late lunch, another great meal. This place is a hidden gem, food is always great, service is wonderful and this place is spotlessly clean. My only issue is the lighting could be a little brighter. The menu is on a dark background and with very little lite ya need to struggle a bit to read without breaking out my I phone flashlight. We enjoyed a nice late lunch at Cali recently, a quieter time of day. We began with an appetizer of crispy tortilla chips and savory guacamole (with a slight kick)! Then we shared a Wild Shroom pizza and the Lean n Clean bowl. The pizza is a new fav for me, as the texture of the mushrooms and the flavor of the olive oil really hit the spot! I enjoy lots of varieties of pizzas, but it is rare to find such a tasty and crave-able tomato-free pie! Amazing! I am totally in love with this place and hope they expand all over the US. Vegan, vegetarian, fish, and meat options. Something for everyone flavor wise too. Super healthy food...Everything on the menu is excellent. Wraps, pizza and bowls are the main stays here. Wait staff provided good recommendations. Went with the avocado hummus appetizer, which was good but pricey @$9.50 for what you get. And there wasn't enough items to dip all the hummus up, even when halfing most of them. Quality was good though. My favorite is the Mexican bowl and normally add chicken for around $4. A great combination of items that are Mexican based including black beans, queso, pico de gallo, guacamole, lime sour cream and salsa. It isn't too spicy either. And it's gluten free, like a lot of things Cali offers. Service was good. Multiple staff members helped us. Ambiance: Sort of a weird setup inside. It's almost like they just opened and haven't figured out where to put the tables. Inside and outside seating allows you to enjoy some fresh air, although the view is of Bloomingdale Ave., a busy road. Tip: there is a Publix in the adjoining complex if you need a grocery run after your meal. read more

Today coworkers wanted Cali and every part of me wanted to say no. It can be pricey and not enjoying the meal hits me wrong. We ordered takeout and I decided to order a Fajita Bowl as I was starving. This is where the good review comes in - My Fajita Bowl was delish! The steak was cooked to perfection, the flavors of the salsa and guacamole was amazing. Only complaint was the brown rice was a bit crunchy but it wasn't terrible. I was super satisfied with my meal. While we order take out we have visited the site many times - The ambiance is always bright, clean, and earthy. I love that it's not always crowded just enough to hear yourselves and there's outside seating. There's plenty of spaces for parking and it's in a nice location. Once my favorite local restaurant... but not anymore. The best menu item is no more and customer service is non-existent. Unfortunately Cali got rid of the best thing on their menu, the Amalfi pizza. I used to order several of these weekly. The plant based ricotta cheese they used was unmatched. Paired with broccoli and tomatoes, it was an amazing dish, the best plant based pizza I'd ever had and up there just as good as the best non-plant based pizzas I've had as well. I tried the plain pizza with plant based mozzarella. I'd give it a 6/10. It tastes like Whole Foods pizza but a lot smaller and with better crust. Definitely tasted like plant based cheese. I tried to order the mushroom pizza with plant based mozzarella but it looked and tasted like real cheese. My receipt showed that I ordered plant based (Doordash order). I can't imagine they'd use a different plant based mozzarella on one than on the other. I saved the pizza to eat another day and tried to reach out to their customer service via their website to clarify whether this was dairy or not as I can't have dairy. Waited days. Never got any kind of answer. $20 in the trash. read more

Very nice people and like the menu but just not as good as other places that are doing the same sort of bowls. It was a bit pricier than others because meat is not included and the chicken I did get was fatty, chewy and not very good. Also, way too many different sauces come with each bowl. The title of "epic bowls" on their menu is well deserved! My friends and I each tried a difference bowl and we loved them all. I had the hot and crunchy bowl with ahi and udon noodles and it was fabulous - great blend of flavors and they certainly don't skimp on the toppings! Probably the biggest and freshiest chunks of ahi I've ever had in a bowl. The last couple of bites were a little salty but I expect that's why they recommend a rice base to soak up all the sauce.
