We love the Brunchery! The food is always super good and we love their rotating specials. The way the restaurant is run is super interesting, you don't have one dedicated server, they all kind of pitch in and help. The problem with that is, I feel like the service lacks sometimes. Other times they are on top of it. They are always super nice, and the atmosphere is giving grandmas country kitchen. It's a win for us! The Brunchery is one of our absolute favorite breakfast spots!! When you sit down there are 2 boards on the wall with all the specials written on them. We always start with a grilled butter rum muffin which we split between us. We have this with coffee while we wait for our food. Everything I've put in my mouth here has been delicious. They have an extensive menu with many different breakfast and lunch choices. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. The staff are all lovely and we have even met the owner who was super nice. The service was great and the servers communicated well among each other to deliver. My coffee was always filled and I ordered the pumpkin coffee with an option to swap it out if I didn't like it. I had the heart healthy omelette and the egg whites were nice and fluffy. I enjoyed the salsa on top which added flavor so there is no need to add any salt. The fruit is fresh and toast nicely buttered. The surprise I received was a fresh coffee to go because I mentioned driving to Orlando afterwards. Wanted to try a new breakfast spot. Since this place had so many great reviews, I wanted to see if the hype was real and it definitely was! The portion sizes are HUGE so expect to be stuffed! I ordered the BLT omelette but because I don't eat pork I subbed for turkey sausage. Everything was delicious! I usually don't finish all of my food but I literally couldn't stop eating . This could've been a 5 five star review based on dine in service today. Then I ordered a Togo order and I went to Zero. Up until the manager came to humiliate, embarrass and become confrontational with me in front of the dining room in the restaurant because I had to send back the waffle I ordered to go that came out wrong twice. I ordered the banana bread waffle dry ToGo so that I could not have it soggy when I delivered it. After sending it back the first time Because it had caramel syrup and banana on it, Then I got a regular waffle dry not banana bread batter waffle like I ordered. So a second time I refused it and the Owner hand-delivered it and became confrontational with me arguing and talking over me in the dining room. I made the mistake of asking for them to correct it and make sure it was the banana bread dry with out the toppings on it which included the caramel syrup and bananas. Sadly I came here because it is a "small business" and I wanted to give them another try. The Swedish Crepes is actually a phenomenal dish here if you're in town and you wanna order that as it is you will be pleased. The last time I dined in at The Brunchery was back in 2005 when our house was being built. My brother's mother-in-law was a regular, and she loved it. Our initial visit was at the original location on Oakfield Drive in Brandon. It was a small restaurant, but extremely popular. There was even a 15-30 minute wait to get a table back then. They had the same type of farmhouse décor. It was always packed with diners which is really why we never returned. Fortunately, they ended up moving to the bigger location on Lynx Paw Trail in Valrico. It was much bigger and brighter than the original location. It became even more popular. The parking lot was always full when I passed by it. Then, I later read that the original owner retired back in 2018 after 30 years of serving her customers. I expected it had gone downhill, so I never revisited until this week. Surprisingly, not a whole lot has changed. I think the only exception is that the new owners have expanded The Brunchery to Tampa. Oh, and the atmosphere and décor gives a very homey feeling. It's so much brighter and the tables are more spaced out. They have a huge chalkboard menu on the back wall. There were like 6 different quiches on the board as well as 6 muffin flavors. They have many different benedicts and even a couple of flavors of stuffed French toast. I was thinking of getting something a little light. It ended up being more than I could eat. They give very large portions. The veggie quiche was served warm. It was delicious! It had peppers, onions, mushrooms, and broccoli. I ate just about all of it including the crust. Definitely ask if they have other quiche flavors. The veggie one was not on the chalk board menu, and it was just as great. The fruit bowl was fresh. The grilled muffin with butter was a very nice treat. I followed the advice of other Yelpers and chose the Butter Rum flavor. It was a great choice, but a little on the sweet side. I think I'll try the pistachio one next time. The coffee was also very good. The flavor of the day was vanilla. The water was served ice cold in a glass mason jar. A very nice touch. I'm looking forward to more visits. They have a lobster benedict that I definitely want to try. I saw some yummy looking burgers on the menu too. I've also found that arriving early on a weekday morning is less crowded. There were only a few tables available when I walked in at 9:30 am. All bets are off after 10:30 am. The service was fantastic for a busy morning. The staff helps each other out. They checked in on me often to make sure I had everything I needed. I thought that was great. The omelette was LOADED with sliced turkey and bacon, they definitely didn't hold back. It's definitely shareable between two people. The slices of toast already came buttered. As always a great place to not only get a top notch breakfast or lunch experience but their gluten free options are the best! I usually get their gluten free muffins as they change daily, the baker does a phenomenal job! Unfortunately my favorite blueberry and lemon muffin (I was dreaming of those muffins) wasn't available and honestly I ended up having something almost as good! I had their fluffy, delicious, gluten free waffle with the orange cream cheese filling that is usually used for their Orange Cream Cheese Pecan French Toast Stack and I'm so glad I did! Cue Happy Dance! I spread the cream cheese icing, I sprinkled the pecans, drizzled a little bit of the maple syrup cut a piece and bam! Took the first of many delicious bites! Now you can kind of see in the background my mother was the healthier one with her delicious avocado toast on gluten free bread and over medium cooked eggs. We usually share the cheesy grits as you can see a bowl is big! Remember I tend to do the muffin not a big plate of waffle so I also tend to have a bowl of fruit we share or their delicious hash-browns as they are also gluten free. Really so many options! To drink I had a cup of hot Ginger Peach Tea, from their many herbal tea options, with some honey, even though their coffee is top notch. I usually get their coffee. I just had already had my quota of the day. The staff there are fantastic! Ms. Jackie and Ms. Cara were both super helpful and patient with us when we asked about the gluten free options and we always feel that way when we come in. The staff never make me feel bad when I ask about options, which can happen at other places, so that definitely determines whether we will come back to a place or whether I will refer a place to someone. Mom and I have made this one of our favorite go to places for breakfast on the weekends, especially if we have plans to be out and about. But just a heads up this place is always hopping when we go! Try to either go early when the first open or plan to wait a bit because they are that good, and yes they are worth the wait. If the weather is nice we tend to ask to sit on the patio and usually get seated right away. Not too many people want to sit outside. I love it especially, in Fall time! I can't say that I "just fell into it." This trip was intentional-spurred on by hunger, curiosity and some nervous legs-that just wanted to drive a bit before going home. The Brunchery had been on my list since a) visiting another location in south Tampa and b) having lunch at The Landing next door. Today was the day I made it happen and holy bacon, I'm glad I did! It's a cute place-full of homespun sayings on wooden signs, farm-centric decor and lots of whimsy. It's cheery, bright and busy but not too busy at 10am on a Thursday. The staff is attentive, friendly, warm, efficient-all the good stuff. And the food-oh the food. They do breakfast right. The menu seemed large to me-but not overwhelming... and everything came out hot and fast. I chose the Greek omelette (kick the tomatoes) and it came with toast and a choice of home fries or hash browns. I went with hash browns-which weren't overly seasoned and were cooked well (the crispy/fluffy balance was right on). The chunks of feta on top that omelette were worth writing home (and on Yelp) about but it's the bacon I'm singing about, 12 hours later. Sooo good... four big pieces of thick cut, peppery, crispy yet chewy perfection. That's the stuff you dream about and come back for. You can try it too, if you take Lithia-Pinecrest southeast a bit in the Brandon/Valrico area. There's lots of parking, since it's in a shopping plaza-and it's an easy-peasy in and out, since there's a light right there. The entree was under $12... with another $4 for the bacon. Soda was a surprise at $3.35 but they loaded up a to-go cup for me. It's comfy, clean and not too loud-but the small tables against the wall (for one or two patrons) seemed a little close to each other. I couldn''t help but overhear the conversations at the tables next to me (and for the record, I agree: the man on one side should work from home and the women on the other side had no choice but to kick their friend out of book club). The Brunchery has always been on our list of favorites. we were there a few weeks ago ago and noticed that the quality of service was not up to its usual standards. This morning I treated my granddaughter to breakfast for her birthday and it was very disappointing. The service was terrible and the food was worse.
