Joanne and I went to Eggtown tonight for dinner. This is my review. I am glad to be able to give a positive review because it is such a wonderful amenity to our community to have a nearby place to have a relaxed, modestly priced, sit down dinner. Please consider supporting this business expansion so that it remains available to us. This does not appear to be an experiment to see how it goes. All of the signs, including outdoor signs, have been updated or replaced to announce that the business is open for dinner. The dining room is too bright. I suggested to server, who passed my comment on, that they should figure out how to dim the lights or turn some of them off. Speaking of the server, she was very friendly, efficient and accommodating. Our server's name was Ava, and she is an immigrant of Greek and Albanian descent, who has been in the United States for 29 years. Ava happily brewed a fresh pot of decaf for us and offered drinks for us to take with us. We were given the regular menu and a dinner supplement. I have attached copies of the dinner supplement and you can see there are varied options--and you can also see how reasonably priced the options are. Portion sizes were great. Too much for us, anyway. I had the fried shrimp platter and the $13.95 price included the shrimp, french fries, sauteed green beans and a really nice dinner salad. Joanne had the chicken salad croissant sandwich. She really liked her sandwich. I liked my dinner but being candid, I would be surprised if the shrimp were breaded in house as opposed to prepared and frozen by the purveyor. I will try something different next time or will have the shrimp grilled. Portions were plentiful. Overall, we had a really enjoyable experience. Based on the food, the location and the prices, we are certainly happy to support Eggtown for dinner. read more

My usual favorite breakfast place wa a let down today. I ordered the feature which used to include 3 link sausages scrambled eggs, potatoes and biscuit but on this order there were only 2 links of sausage and a very dense biscuit. I just so happened to come across Eggtown while in the area and decided to stop in for a late breakfast. The restaurant was fairly empty but I and a few other tables decided to eat outside as it's such a beautiful day out today. I was stuck between choosing a few dishes, they had all the comfort staples! I ended up ordering the Southern Skillet which did not disappoint! The portion was HUGE, like enough for three people! It came with a biscuit which was buttery and soft. I will definitely be back for their hash omelette. Our server was attentive and pleasant. Food - Disappointing. The menu is a bit odd compared to most breakfast places. Given the restaurant's name and prior reviews, I went with what I assumed to be the restaurant's wheelhouse. I special ordered an omelette with American cheese, onions and ham. The egg part of the omelette was paper thin. It was loaded with ham and onions, but there was barely any cheese. As a result, the ingredients were not bound together and when cut, the ham and onions spilled out. In the end, I was eating a bunch of onions and ham. Overall Value - below average. We came here for my mom's birthday. Our waitress was great, very attentive and kind. We didn't have to ask for anything. The food portions were a nice size I don't think any of us were able to finish our plate. The pancakes were okay, the eggs were good and potatoes were good and turkey sausage was good. I'll certainly go back. It's close to me and the value was good. I gave it 3 stars for food because honestly the taste wasn't anything different. I love pancakes and theirs were okay. Went in for a early week brunch. Even with a decent crowd, the food came out really fast and piping hot. We got the Country fried chicken and loaded waffles. Both were really good. Happy they have grinder salt and pepper shakers at the table, but only the pepper was really needed for the gravy. Eggtown of Riverview near Bell Shoals Rd hits another homerun with its latest upscale brunchery with plenty of attractive space to accommodate a growing area. This restaurant is one of at least seven now in this growing network, and one of the three that I've visited in Central Florida that consistently offers a variety of typical and creative food with excellent service. The large upscale dining room looks more like it belongs in a modern, pricey hotel. On a nice day, sit outside on the covered patios for dining which are attractively landscaped and take advantage of Florida's comfortable seasons and colorful plantings. Today I selected the "triple 222" That is, "two pieces of French toast or two pancakes, two eggs, and two meats. A healthy sausage is available as one of the two meats. Everything was excellent. Coffee is great. Service is attentive. The restaurant is off the main road behind other stores, so the patios are outside of the noisy traffic area. read more

She has scrambled eggs and grits had two eggs over easy with grips. Bags and grits were okay. Country fried steak not very good at all. Chewy lack of flavor. Chris need assault but no big deal there. I rated their country fried steak 6.5. a wife is generous is gave it is 7.2. not even close to that. Our server Abby. After taking our order for a soda and coffee. Finally this restaurant opened. We've been pretty inpatient waiting for this. Well, we missed the opening because it's been open for a month! OMG, what a beautiful place. Open and airy, bright yet warm, modern but comfortable, I love it. Our server, Amanda, was top notch. Friendly and knowledgeable and never did we want for more coffee or iced tea! WTG Amanda!! I ordered a meal of hash (canned not homemade which is fine with me) 2eggs over medium, home fries with onion (exactly how I like them) and a biscuit. My eyes nearly fell out of my head when I saw how large the portion was! I knew immediately I could not eat it all so set half of it aside to take home. Everything was very good and the wait for the food was pretty quick. Hubby had pancakes with his meal and they were huge and sooo good. Of course I had to try them. It was our first time here so I wanted to try everything on the menu, and my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach! Pancakes were crazy good, but they're huge, so we took some home. Wife couldn't finish her toast, portions are gigantic. It'd be cool if they had some sort of breakfast sampler where you could pick small portions of 3-4 things to try.
