When I moved to Apollo Beach years ago, I went to the Apollo Beach Diner. The diner had Country Kitchen decor and looked like it was stuck in the 70s. When the current owners took over several years ago, they painted the interior and added cute, coastal decor. When you enter, find an available table or booth and take a seat. There's also counter seating. The exception is the weekend when it's so busy that you put your name on a wait list. The food is just what you expect in a diner. Breakfast or lunch, food is good, portions are generous and reasonably priced. One of the best features of the Apollo Beach Diners is their servers. I've enjoyed the burgers, salads and the soup in the winter. I always look forward to my next meal at the Apollo Beach Diner. read more

Service is good. It's a cozy spot, and I wish the food was better. We've been maybe 4 times, it's a little restaurant that could fill a big gap in the area. It doesn't. Nothing really rises above "okay". I wish I could give it rave reviews. read more

Have been going there for years and honestly the place is just not the same. Went today for lunch with my wife and was shocked at the increase in prices across the board. A Reuben sandwich and a coke for me and a Giro with a coke for my wife was $45.00. Are you kidding me. When I received the bill it added up to $27.00 so I asked why was the total bill so high. It was then that we were told that the fries for my meal and the onion rings for my wife were extra. Yet it was not stated clearly on our check. The waitress never once stated that these items were an up charge. She simply asked if we wanted chips, fries, or onion rings with our meals. In a normal diner you usually get at least one side with your entree, especially at those prices. In addition, the wait staff throughout our meal were loudly laughing and had customers looking to see what was going on. Funny, but my wife upon entering commented that the place looked empty when there is usually a line outside waiting to get in. Now I know why. Sadly, a place we considered a go to for a good meal at a good price will no longer be on our list. read more

It's pretty crowded so you'll probably have to wait on the benches outside. The portions are large and it's just plain diner food.

The diner is small; however, they have maximized the space. You don't feel as though you are sitting at your neighbors table. The parking is super tight since they are in a strip mall. There is minimal parking. The hostess and waitress were very friendly and greeted us with a smile. We had the pork chops with over easy eggs (cooked perfectly) potatoes with a biscuit and meat skillet with a side of grits. I didn't care too much for the fried biscuit. I ordered a breakfast for lunch which included eggs, bacon, biscuit and hash browns. I'm not a big fan of hash browns so I switched most of them with wife for another biscuit that she didn't want. The food was not spectacular but was very good and tasted fresh as if I made it at home. Service was friendly and relatively quick...never waiting for drink refill. I was greeted over the phone by Meredith, who was sooo nice and friendly! Her customer service was great but unfortunately , the food missed the seasoning mark this morning. I ordered a variety of things: The Apollo omelette, an order of French toast and the corned beef hash breakfast. On the plus side, the French toast was buttery and thick but nothing out of the ordinary. My dad lives in the area, and when I would visit for summers as a child, this was our favorite breakfast and lunch spot with friendly waitresses and honest, tasty food. I'm back about 25-30 years later and not only does the place look renewed and fresh from my past, but it maintains the same "welcome home" feel to any stranger who walks through that front door. Affordable, busy, superior service Experience: Seat your self to the very busy hit, Apollo beach diner! I came hungry and was served within 3 minutes after sitting. Drinks came fast, refilled frequently throughout and food came warm and tasty. Food needed condiments for flavor(ill explain why thats okay later), my colleagues stated the biscuits and gravy were okay(3-star), but i enjoyed my big bend. Pancakes and syrup were nice and everything was cooked excellently. Our total came out to be $31 for 3 people after we got extras. Very happy to come. To love: home fries(potatoes) were lovely, tasty, and like the rest of the food, fully cooked and not over done. The waitresses on january 13 were amazing and on top of the beach decor on walls+clean interior leaves my consumer rating very high. Needs improvement: My colleagues did not feel too comfortable sitting down because the atmosphere and space was very cramped to be able to seat all customers. We felt stared at and eves-dropped on. Wifey and I went for breakfast on our day off and it was a great first time experience. The place is in an older strip mall. There's a rental truck company in the plaza and it makes parking difficult. Inside is basic but clean. Not very big and I can tell it'll be packed on a weekend morning. We had a very friendly and attentive waitress (don't remember her name). Our order came out quickly and was perfect. The pancakes are thick but flavorful and my burrito was packed with goodies. First time visit! It's very clean and nicely decorated with beach themed decor. The staff is very friendly and hospitable. I had a Veggie Omelette with hashed browns. It was good! I ordered a Liver and Onions to go. It came with two sides so I chose Cottage Cheese and Mashed Potatoes no gravy. It turned out good, cooked the way I requested. The prices are very reasonable.
