I made a stop over to box of Cuban just for a quick bite. I ordered a egg and cheese empanada and con coffee leches. As for the taste of my egg and cheese empanada something was different about it. It did not taste like it used to. But my coffee was still delicious But I feel like I waited almost 20-25 minutes. Not sure if it was just due to a lot of orders but I will say they did have a lot of patrons in the restaurant. Overall ambiance it's appeared to be cleaned and organized and the food was smelling amazing. read more

Box of Cubans in Riverview is a great place to grab a quality Cuban sandwich. The restaurant is Cuban themed with the country in the logo, and plenty of Cuban decorations on the wall. It is a small takeout style restaurant with plenty of booth seating. I walked in and placed an order for a Cuban sandwich and a cheeseburger empanada. The food took about 8 minutes to come out and it was delivered to the table. This Cuban sandwich was excellent and it rivals some of the best in Tampa Bay. The empanada was not as great. The mojo mustard provided with the empanada was something unique to me but not great. As it stands, Box of Cubans has a great sandwich and a fun Cuban theme. I will return to try the bowls on their menu. read more

I really enjoyed our lunch at Box of Cubans, the food was made fresh and very good. I would say that the cuban here is really good, but not the best I've ever had. In fact, my sister got the chopped grilled cheeseburger and it was amazing! I would go back for that specifically. We also tried the black beans, which were not the greatest in my opinion. The service was wonderful, the ambiance was mediocre but the food was great! I will be back for sure! read more

I think the pictures of the Cuban sandwich speaks for itself. A very lackluster Cuban for the price. The flavor was delicious, but toppings were for sure, slacking. I will say everything else we had was outstanding like the rice and beans, the plantains, and the picadillo and plantain empanada. I think this place is an outstanding place for lunch with good food. It had the Cuban been bigger, I for sure would have rated a perfect five star. read more

I was told this was the home to one of the best Cuban sandwiches in the Tampa Bay Area so I had to come find out. The restaurant is super cute, was very clean and bright. I ordered the media noche and it was very tasty! The pork was juicy and flavorful, the bread was buttery and fresh. Perfect balance of meat to cheese to bread ratio. What was even better were the empanadas. The picadillo one with sweet plantains and picadillo inside was unreal! Quick and friendly service as well. Will be back! read more

Listen, in the age of 10$ and 15$ hamburgers, this place doesn't necessarily rise to the occasion. I paid 14$ for a 7 or 8 inch long Cuban sandwich. Hardly wider than the width of the phone in your hand. Not only is it small, but they charged me 1$ per topping to add lettuce and onion. The sandwich is perfectly average. Tasted good but didn't come with fries or drink at a 14$ pricetag. I've had better tasting, larger Cuban sandwiches with fries and a drink in and around Tampa for less $. I wouldn't tell you NOT to order from this location, but it certainly wouldn't be my first recommendation. Probably wouldn't be my third. read more

Love this place! I came in with my team of teachers on our last day of school for lunch. One of the gentlemen working behind the counter noticed we were teachers and gave my team of 6 of us Cafe con Leches on the house, congratulating us on our last day of school. It's a small place tucked in a shopping center. An array of authentic Cuban dishes and drinks. The sandwiches are top notch and the black bean bowl with protein (chicken) was outstanding. Staff and service are spot on no issues at all. The seating leaves a little to be desired. The table/chair combos inside are interconnected so you feel the movement of whomever sits behind you. When we arrived the place was busy with lots of customers, bathrooms were clean, tables were clean and great Cuban memorabilia surrounding the restaurant. Steak sandwich and Pan con lechon... AMAZING!!! My fav...steak sandwich!! The steak was very well seasoned and the mix of flavors was a wonderful ! Steak was juicy and all was fresh! The bread was nicely toasted and also fresh. This place is a must visit if you want to taste authentic Cuban sandwiches. I'm from the 305 area and I haven't had a steak sandwich this good in years!!!! To top it off! Box of Cubans has been a favorite of mine for years, going all the way back to when they were inside the gas station off Falkenburg. It's been amazing to see how much they've grown, but even with all their success, the service and food still have the same love and passion from their humble beginnings. My go-to order is always the beef empanadas and Cuban toast--both absolute perfection. The empanadas have that perfect crisp, flaky crust with a flavorful, well-seasoned filling, and the Cuban toast is buttery, crunchy, and just the right amount of indulgent. Mmmmm! Everything I had from Box of Cubans was wholly satisfying. Ordering online was an easy process. My order was promptly prepared and ready to be picked up. The interior of the restaurant is unassuming, yet bright and efficient. The Steak "Pan Con Bistec" Sandwich was delicious. The marinated meat was pleasingly peppery. A couple of the bites were a bit tough, but that didn't really bother me since it tasted so good. The Cheese Burger Empanada was golden, crispy yumminess. Ham Croquettes were very tasty, as well, just smaller than I expected. The Cilantro Aji and Mojo Mustard Sauces are out of this world! Give me buckets of those sauces. Talk about an amazing cuban sandwich! I loved everything about it. The bread was toasted to perfection. The meat to cheese ratio was great and the taste was outstanding. Really good food! I had a breakfast sandwich and it was huge and delicious on Cuban bread. My husband had a Cuban and said it was really good. We also had banana and Nutella empanadas which were also delicious. The service was great and everyone working here was friendly. The ambiance was similar to a fast food restaurant, but with cool Cuban music playing. They also had a little bit of outdoor seating. A lot of customers came and went while we were there. One thing to note...if you are vegetarian, there are not many options on the menu for you. read more

I come here for the Cuban bread. The bread makes all their sandwiches that much more delicious for me. Service is always friendly. The restaurant has always been clean and they do their best to prep their tables clean for new customers. BOC is a Riverview Gem. They have become so popular in a relatively short time. Yesssssss! This place was awesome. Firstly, I love being greeted when you walk in the door. Nice touch. The empanadas were such a huge hit. We had the guava and cheese, banana/nutella (OMG!).. I also had the cuban sandwich and my friend had the mojito pork. She actually said she thought there was too much meat for her sandwich - which made for nice leftovers. I wish I tried the cuban bread. I totally forgot. Next time! Also had the arroz con leche -- it was OK. Nothing to write home about, but that's OK -- the rest made up for it. Cafe con leche was a hit and I had the little cortado coffee (kind of like a cafecito except with a lot of foam). Both were extremely delicious. Like they said in Terminator -- "I'll be back". I had a pickup order for a regular Cuban sandwich, turkey sandwich, steak Cuban sandwich, two beef empanadas, one chicken empanada and a slice of key lime pie. Everyone enjoyed their meal and thought it was tasty! The empanadas were a little dry so I probably wouldn't order them again but would like to try out more of their sandwiches. I had family in town and one of their must do items on their list was to have a good Cuban sandwich. I told them I had the perfect place! We came in and we're instantly greeted by two men. We ordered two classic Cuban sandwiches, a Pipo's breakfast sandwich, a beef and cheese empanada and a cafe con leche. They suggested their mojo mustard for the sandwiches and the empanada and even let us sample it before giving us a side of it. I'm not usually a mustard person but I gave it a try once and could not go without! I used to frequent the location they had at the gas station when it was open pre-covid and used to order a Cuban sandwich and a cafe con leche whenever I could make the drive from South Tampa. Easily one of the best Cubans I've ever had. The portion is just massive! Also had their empanada as well as their egg and cheese with bacon breakfast sandwich which they serve all day. Empanada was okay but the breakfast sandwich was outstanding. Cuban sandwich wise it's definitely up there in the ranks. Idk if they do make their bread in house but it's so crispy and so much flavor. Think that's why the breakfast sandwich was just as good just because of their bread. Overall I give it a 9.4/10 read more

Went inside the BP and realized that there was authentic Cuban food being sold! I was greeted warmly by the owners and honestly, this is what my made my decision extremely easy. Between the smell and the hospitality, I had to try the food. I got the classic Cuban sandwich and a cafe con leche. I was offered the green sauce and it was AMAZING! They do have a tasty arroz con salchichas side item. My mom used to make it sometimes with those little canned Vienna sausages. Yeah, it's a comfort thing for me. They also make wonderful breakfast sandwiches and ham croquettes. El Cuba Cafe is hidden inside of a Circle K convenience store on Bell Shoals Road. It's directly across the street from Publix at Bloomingdale Square. I know it has Cuba in the name, but their is a lot of Puerto Rican representation here. That may also be why I'm so fond of it. It's also super convenient, and the service is great. I usually drive in the back way to avoid all the construction nearby. There's no dining area. You just order your meal and take it with you.
