I made a stop over to box of Cuban just for a quick bite. I ordered a egg and cheese empanada and con coffee leches. As for the taste of my egg and cheese empanada something was different about it. It did not taste like it used to. But my coffee was still delicious But I feel like I waited almost 20-25 minutes. Not sure if it was just due to a lot of orders but I will say they did have a lot of patrons in the restaurant. Box of Cubans in Riverview is a great place to grab a quality Cuban sandwich. The restaurant is Cuban themed with the country in the logo, and plenty of Cuban decorations on the wall. It is a small takeout style restaurant with plenty of booth seating. I walked in and placed an order for a Cuban sandwich and a cheeseburger empanada. The food took about 8 minutes to come out and it was delivered to the table. This Cuban sandwich was excellent and it rivals some of the best in Tampa Bay. The empanada was not as great. The mojo mustard provided with the empanada was something unique to me but not great. As it stands, Box of Cubans has a great sandwich and a fun Cuban theme. I really enjoyed our lunch at Box of Cubans, the food was made fresh and very good. I would say that the cuban here is really good, but not the best I've ever had. In fact, my sister got the chopped grilled cheeseburger and it was amazing! I would go back for that specifically. We also tried the black beans, which were not the greatest in my opinion. I think the pictures of the Cuban sandwich speaks for itself. A very lackluster Cuban for the price. The flavor was delicious, but toppings were for sure, slacking. I was told this was the home to one of the best Cuban sandwiches in the Tampa Bay Area so I had to come find out. The restaurant is super cute, was very clean and bright. I ordered the media noche and it was very tasty! The pork was juicy and flavorful, the bread was buttery and fresh. Perfect balance of meat to cheese to bread ratio. Hardly wider than the width of the phone in your hand. Not only is it small, but they charged me 1$ per topping to add lettuce and onion. The sandwich is perfectly average. Tasted good but didn't come with fries or drink at a 14$ pricetag. I've had better tasting, larger Cuban sandwiches with fries and a drink in and around Tampa for less $. I wouldn't tell you NOT to order from this location, but it certainly wouldn't be my first recommendation. Probably wouldn't be my third. read more

A couple of the bites were a bit tough, but that didn't really bother me since it tasted so good. The Cheese Burger Empanada was golden, crispy yumminess. I also had the cuban sandwich and my friend had the mojito pork. She actually said she thought there was too much meat for her sandwich - which made for nice leftovers. I wish I tried the cuban bread. I totally forgot. Next time! Also had the arroz con leche -- it was OK. Nothing to write home about, but that's OK -- the rest made up for it. We ordered two classic Cuban sandwiches, a Pipo's breakfast sandwich, a beef and cheese empanada and a cafe con leche. They suggested their mojo mustard for the sandwiches and the empanada and even let us sample it before giving us a side of it. I'm not usually a mustard person but I gave it a try once and could not go without! I used to frequent the location they had at the gas station when it was open pre-covid and used to order a Cuban sandwich and a cafe con leche whenever I could make the drive from South Tampa. Easily one of the best Cubans I've ever had. The portion is just massive! Also had their empanada as well as their egg and cheese with bacon breakfast sandwich which they serve all day. Empanada was okay but the breakfast sandwich was outstanding. Cuban sandwich wise it's definitely up there in the ranks. Idk if they do make their bread in house but it's so crispy and so much flavor. Think that's why the breakfast sandwich was just as good just because of their bread.
