I'd been craving a Cuban Sammy so I ordered from Liborios for lunch via DoorDash. I'd visited before in person and had food delivered before and this place never disappoints! They have hot lunches and other sandwiches as well as empanadas which I've enjoyed. I had a Cuban sandwich from another place recently but it left alotttt to be desired so I'm glad i ordered a Sammy from Liborios. This Cuban sandwich could basically be any other place's DADDY!! I ordered a "small" Cuban but just one half of it had me so stuffed! Im already looking forward to the leftovers later! I also ordered a beef and cheese empanada which was yummy as well. Delicious! The only reason I can't give it 5-stars is because their drink selection isn't great. It's a cafeteria-style restaurant but don't think it's all no frills. The food selection is outstanding and the portions are enormous. The ladies working the counter are happy to explain each item. The experience is speedy and the seating is open. I had no idea this place existed, but I'm glad I found it! It reminded me of Palacio de los Jugos in Miami. At first, I was confused because I thought it was a Lebanese restaurant--until I saw "Latin Cafe." Since I was hungry, I decided to check it out. It works like a cafeteria--you pick your protein and sides. I got yellow rice with beans and pollo asado. The chicken was super dry, which is why I'm giving Liborio's 4 stars instead of 5. My food had a rotten smell and tasted funny. I thought I was tripping, but it was really gross. It looks like the food has been sitting there all day, but besides that it hasn't been cycled out like they're reusing meat from the day before the only thing that looked like it was made that day is the rice and beans and maybe the soup I'm really disappointed in this place because as as a Puerto Rican myself, I know how much taking our food but this was just completely unacceptable. I love Liborios! They have a wonderful selection to choose from and it's always fresh! Their plate servings are massive and enough to feed you for two or three meals (maybe even four!). Their prices are great. I've been coming here years and anytime I'm in Tampa I always try to stop in and grab a large plate. Their yuca and roasted pork is so delicious! A group of us stopped in to Liborios for a quick dinner before seeing a show at the Tampa Amphitheater last night. Liberios serves a variety of Puerto Rican, Cuban, and American food cafeteria style. Additionally, they have a full breakfast menu, a decent selection of hot/cold sandwiches, and offer catering. Don't let cafeteria style process chase you away; the food is fresh, delicious and the staff load you up, so there is no way to leave this place hungry. Nancy and I went with the two large combos ($12.49 each), which comes with one choice of meat and three sides. I went with the pulled pork, rice with vegetables, sweet plantains, and vegetable soup. Nancy chose the pork ribs, green beans, sweet plantains, and chicken noodle soup. All of the food was awesome, my only complaint is that my rice was a little salty for my taste, other than that, everything else was great. Our friends let us try their Picadillo and Papas Rellenas which were full of flavor and delicious. The Papas Rellenas were huge, I would have been happy to order two of these bad boys for dinner and call it a day. The soups were very good as well, they sell the soup in larger quart options too. I love the big chunks of vegetables and chicken chunks with bone still attached; definitely provides that traditional-real-deal feel. Something to take into consideration when ordering, is you get a 10% discount when you pay with cash. I've been told that Liborios is a local favorite and at lunchtime the line can go outside the door and around the building. We must have been lucky because we got here right around 4:30pm and there were only a few customers in line and several more came in behind us. There is not a lot of seating here; however, fortunately for us, most customers must have been regulars because they were taking their orders Togo. Something else I should mention is there is a bar directly to the right when you walk in. I like how management decided to keep the bar separate from the dining area, it allows families to bring their children in for dinner without mingling with the bar crowd. However, if you need to use the restroom, it is located in the bar section. The bar is quite popular and has a pool table if you are looking fit in a game or two with a friend. All-in-all, Liborios Latin Café has a great thing going and I look forward to coming back to try some more of their food in the future. Stopped here recently for lunch. It looked good and got good reviews here on Yelp. Let me say we were not disappointed. The restaurant is set up cafeteria style. You start out with picking a rice and then your sides and then a protein. I decided on spainish rice with sweet plantains and a garbanzo bean soup with the fried fish. Everything I got was good. Next time I would probably switch out the garbanzo bean soup. There were so many options certainly something for everyone. I also added a tamale. It was good but I would probably hold off on getting that again. The wife got a Cuban Sandwich. That was very good. The dining room is spacious and they had additional seating outside. I also saw a bar area which I would assume is open on the weekends. The service was good and prompt but limited if you don't know Spanish. We will totally be back. read more

First time here, recommend by a friend, I ordered 3 sandwiches to go. And apparently the Cuban sandwich l ordered was incorrect when I got to my destination, so on the way back I stopped there to explain what happened that they gave me a ham & cheese sandwich not Cuban sandwich in which I open the contest to show her and she did not believe me along of showing her my receipt and the credit card I use so she can look up the information on her system. By the way she acted and treated me was like I was taking advantage of them. I asked to speak to a manager, but was told there was none available until the next day. Along with my takeout order that I was waiting for the chicken was okay but the yellow rice had no flavor at all so bland. Extremely disappointed how no one was monitoring to make sure the food was being cooked & seasoning correctly especially for a Hispanic restaurant. The other items on display showed overcooked meat etc. I guess this what happens when proper mgr is not their to make sure things are done right & should train there employees how to treat customers. This place sucks ! Placed a pick up order, never notified when it was ready. Called multiple times, no answer. I finally decided to walk in, they don't even acknowledge me. I walk up to the register & my food is just sitting there. I asked why they notify me when it was ready or at least pick up the phone, all the ladies there just gave me rude looks & answers. We stopped by for lunch and were impressed with how many options were available to us at this cafe. They have cafeteria style service where you can choose your dish with sides or get a sandwich. I decided to get a Cuban sandwich. It was one of the best ones I've ever had. I got a large one, so I would have leftovers. The bread was pressed how I prefer with it not toasted too much. I don't want the roof of my mouth to be injured from eating a sandwich. This one was perfect. The outside of the bread was lightly toasted, but the inside was still soft. I visit my family in Riverview often and wanted to bring something unique for lunch. I stopped here after reading other Yelp reviews and was so happy I did. The staff and other customers were all so nice and very patient with this first-timer! There were so many great choices. I struggled with what to order. I ordered a platter with rice, chicken and sides of vegetables, and I also had to try the beef and chicken empanadas. My only requirement was "no caliente" as I was buying lunch too for my 86 year old mom. We loved everything we tasted, and I plan to return on my next visit to the Tampa area. You walk down a line and pick your options- you pick a base (type of rice) and then have options for side and choice of protein. Everything we tried was very flavorful. My wife is Cuban so this was one of the first restaurants we had to visit after moving to Lakeland. We absolutely love this place! For those who have never been it's kind of set up like Cafeteria. 95% of the food is already prepared and you move down the line pick what you want. There are 3-4 different kinds of rice and various kinds of fried plantains. On any given day there is also 8-10 different kinds of meat. Pork, beef, fish etc. The staff is super friendly and bilingual so don't let that stop you from visiting. One side of the building is the restaurant and other half is a small bar with a few tables and a pool table. Again the food is incredible, restaurant is clean but you can tell it's been around for while. It could use a facelift. read more

Everything here is amazing. It's the real deal. You know because there is a line at almost every hour and everyone knows exactly what they want to order before they even get to the counter. Generous portions and everything is insanely flavorful. Not to mention fantastic prices for what you get. What a great find while in Riverview for a work meeting. It was so good I came here for breakfast and lunch on the same day. For breakfast I had their 2 eggs, bacon and potatoes. Great value for the amount of food given. Based on a great breakfast I ended up taking all my coworkers here for lunch. Everyone was impressed with the variety, value and great taste. Excellent quick, hot, Cuban food a la carte. The food is clearly fresh due to the constant line waiting for takeout. This is not a traditional restaurant. This is a true Latin Cafeteria style dining. You start on one corner and you pick your choices. Excellent prices for one meat and two side that can easily feed two, $7.49. Excellent! No table service saves on overhead. The sides are generous and you can have extra for $2.99. The milkshake of Mamey was the best we have had and unlike other spots, this one was legit with a good ratio of ice, milk and mamey. Large container for $2.99, made to order. There are plenty of tables in the main dining room area and there's an attendant ready to clear your dishes and wipe the tables. On the other side, where the bathrooms are located, the lights are dimmer and there is a full bar with a pool table and some booth seating. Sandwiches are made to order as are the drinks and shakes. Located inside a nondescript plaza, there was plenty of parking nearby. Great spot for a quick fresh uncomplicated true comfort Cuban food. Called on a Friday to schedule a catering order since some of their menus options are not on the catering website, called was told the person in charge would call me back never did call me. Called next day someone answered the phone but put it down instead of taking the call I hung up and tried calling back to have it go straight to busy signal because they took the phone off the hook so no calls would go threw. Great Cuban food with awesome flavor, huge portions, and friendly staff! This is definitely a go to for Latin food.

Some of the girls on staff are little less than friendly lol , but their food is out of this world. I got the fish mixture with mussels and the hamburger with olives. I have no idea what either are called but they were absolutely delicious. I'm gonna come back here every time I come to Tampa. Chill cafe vibe for atmosphere. So good. Truly !
