Went here on a night we wanted something casual after a stretch of fancier meals, and 7th + Grove's soul food menu caught our eye. Fair warning: this place has two personalities -- a restaurant side and a much louder dance-party side that share the same building. We opted for the restaurant side, which was surprisingly not busy despite the earliest reservation we could get being 7:30pm on a weeknight. The menu blends classic soul food (fried chicken, mac and cheese) with a strong New Orleans Creole influence -- gumbo, jambalaya, fried seafood, cornbread. Portions are enormous. We started with the deviled eggs ("D'Evils"), topped with fried chicken bites and lemon pepper dust -- excellent and surprisingly filling for just four halves. We also got the Nolia Clip, a vegan gumbo base loaded with fried shrimp, crabmeat, turkey sausage, and a full catfish filet -- essentially an entree-sized bowl on its own. For entrees, the fried chicken plate ("Let's Stay Together") was a standout -- moist chicken, crispy crust, great mac and cheese and collard greens, though the cornbread muffins were bland and watery-tasting. My jambalaya ("Burning Blues") turned out to be nearly identical in ingredients to the gumbo appetizer we'd already had, just a bit thicker and in a bigger portion -- worth knowing before you order both. We left with a full meal's worth of leftovers and zero room for dessert. Food quality was great across the board (minus the cornbread), and portions are a serious value. Service was the weak point -- slow to seat and slow table-side all night. Good pick if you're after soul food with Creole flair and don't mind a leisurely pace.
We came here with come friends of mine. It was Sunday brunch and the place was popping. Given our group was a mix of Asian, African American, Latino and White we felt very welcomed. The drinks were great. We did not get any food but it looked great. We took the free trolly from Tampa to Ybor which was very convenient.
When i say the food was good, the food was goooood. The flavors were very rich and delicious. All of our dishes were fresh and the lemon pepper wings are a must. It did take a while to get almost everything and to catch our server even though it wasn't crazy busy. Thats the only downside that made the experience not as great as it could've been. Music was nice and atmosphere clean.
How cute is this place ?? Originally found on Yelp however I was not prepared for such good food nor vibes ! My party and I got the band for unlimited mimosas and buffet style food ... this food was sooo darn flavorful and filling ! The drinks were tasty as well(many options of mixed drinks outside of the mimosa) Staff was pleasant , sweet and professional which you don't see to much of lately in businesses. Cali love ! We will be back and tell everyone all about it ! Thank you for the amazing time !
We came here as a party of 8 on last Saturday around noon and it was a great time. We were celebrating a bachelorette and it was a chill vibe. The space with the DJ is pretty large with good seating options. The DJ was so good, really plays to the crowd We did buffet brunch and was surprise everything had some good flavor. It was about $75 per person before taxes and gratuity, A lot of options for folks without food restrictions and those who are pescatarians. As someone who is gluten free and diary free not a lot of options but it worked with the shrimp grits and bacon, fried chicken. There were many other options biscuits gravy, other meat options, waffle maker, clams, and more. But important to know not everything on their food menu was in the buffet. Our waitress was cool she made she we had refills on our unlimited mimosas. They had cranberry, pineapple, orange juice as mixing options. The mimosas do come pre mixed in a large tower thing. If you are looking for other items on their menu like the catfish and grits they are not included in the unlimited brunch. So one of our group members had to go to the other side of the restaurant to sit at the bar to order. The staff like hostess, security, and cleaning crew were so so kind and really looked out. Chef Joi is awesome and an amazing cook. The catfish and grits were AMAZING and had great flavor. I would definitely come back here but would actually explore some of their other select menu items outside of the unlimited brunch.
Brunched at 7th + Grove on a Sunday and it was definitely a vibe! The place was very busy, so felt lucky to get seated on the dining side with access to the full menu. Recommend making a reservation. They also offer a buffet option, which we didn't try this time. Service was definitely slow ...it took a while to get drinks but once they arrived, they were good at least. The food overall was solid. Had the chicken and French toast. The chicken was crispy ...the portion size was generous, and it was definitely filling. I wish the plate came with more fresh fruit though to balance everything out. After eating went next door, with a DJ and host keeping the vibe going the whole time. It was a fun, lively atmosphere. This is a good brunch spot with great energy just be prepared for a crowd, and slower service on busy Sundays...
Came for brunch and didn't want to leave! The decor in this spot is very simple, deff gives lounge vibes but it's welcoming forsure. We sat at the bar and was greeted immediately. We had a waitress and a trainee. Both did phenomenal! Now this food, omg! I had the crabcake, grits, shrimp and some more things added in. Everything was cooked perfectly. The cheesy Gouda grits did not get overpowered by the Gouda as we know, Gouda can be a strong cheese. My gf had a huge catfish filet and she loved it. She kept raving how well the catfish was cooked. Baby when I come back to Tampa, 7th & Grove will certainly be seeing us again!
What a time!! I truly enjoyed everything from the venue, the music the drinks the staff and of course the food. We made reservations early so we were able to get right to our table. We had a minor in the group so we were only able to sit on 1 side. Both sides have completely different vibes, different djs and kinda different food. But both were still really good. They have the menu and a buffet you can order from. We did the bottomless mimosas for the table. Now to the food. I wanted to take some of everyone's food. Everything looked and smelled amazing! Great prices and full portions! I will def be back and try the buffet

We stopped by a little before dinner service (which starts at 5pm), so brunch/lunch was still on the menu. I had fried chicken on my mind and couldn't imagine going anywhere else. While we waited, we grabbed cocktails from the lounge and enjoyed the lively atmosphere, this place stays busy no matter the time of day. Once the doors opened for dinner, we were first inside and ready to eat. Chef Joy and sous-chef Jason sent out a meal we're still talking about. We ordered the "Let's Stay Together" plates because we already knew they'd hit the spot. The fried chicken was perfect! Crispy, juicy, and full of flavor! The Mac and cheese and Collard Greens were just as good. We cleaned our plates and somehow still had room for the bread pudding, which was absolutely incredible. If you are anywhere near Ybor City, don't miss this place. Everything is so good that you might end up becoming a regular like us.
Came in on a Saturday afternoon during a girl's trip to Tampa and baby we had a TIME!!!! We literally ended up staying for 4 hours and made so many new friends along the way. If you're looking for vibes.. this is the place to go. Parking: We parked in the small lot adjacent to the restaurant. Yes, we did have to pay for parking by registering the vehicle online. Upon arrival, you have the option to sit on the side you enter on or go through a door and sit on the other side. The first side is very unassuming and for those who would like to have a quiet, uninterrupted brunch but once you walk through the door, you're met with a DJ and a more lounge type vibe. Service: it definitely took a while for our server to come to our table, but once we got her she was very attentive and sweet. Drinks: we got the bottomless mimosas. They literally bring each person their own carafe of premade mimosas in whatever flavor you choose and once you run out, they're bringing a refill. Since there were 5 of us, we got to try many different flavors which was fun. Food: you have the option to order off of the menu or dine at the breakfast buffet they have set up. Not going to lie, the buffet looked a little sad so wouldn't recommend dining with that option. Our food came out fairly quickly and was just okay IMO. Nothing to write home about. Vibes: The vibes were there. Music was good, people were up dancing. Would 100% return.
Went here for happy hour so I didn't get the whole experience I've heard about, but they have a pretty good happy hour menu and specials. The staff was friendly and vibe was on point! If there's one thing you should get from the menu, it's the WINGS!!!
The ambiance was lively as they play music. The waiters are very attentive and give great suggestions and the service was very fast which I loved. The food came out in no time. I tried the other side of the game which was oxtails over grits and collard greens and fried corn bread omg it was amazing . The oxtails was soft well seasoned just falling off the bone the corn bread was a good addition even tho it was only two pieces it made me crave more . The collard greens paired perfectly with the dish it did not disappoint. I will definitely be returning

When i tell you 7th and grove is a time!!! I love that it has two differ parts to the lounge. A dinning area and a club area. So it's like the perfect mix of both worlds depending on your vibe. The food is amazing! I came several time and tried their taco Tuesday & brunch menu options both were fire! The customer service has always been on point. read more
7th + Grove was such a great experience during my Tampa visit. The food was excellent and our server was amazing. Some of my favorite dishes had to be the fried fish and the oxtails. Both were so flavorful and well worth the splurge. I originally made a reservation, but I couldn't make it at the original time. They still sat us promptly. I was so thankful for the quick service. This place really is a fun place to have brunch. I don't know when I'll be back in Tampa, but I hope this review will encourage a few more people to visit. read more

I came here for my friend's birthday and I've heard good reviews on the food. I had the rock the boat fried fish and it was really good! I also really like the deviled eggs with the fried shrimp on top. I had the mac & cheese and it wasn't my favorite, but it was flavorful. I also had the Cardi B drink which was really good and not too sweet from me. Inside the restaurant is really nicely decorated with good music. A reason why I cannot give a five star review is because the service was not the best. We had to call for our server numerous times and he tried to make it up by giving us his free shot, which was a nice touch, but then again he left and we had to keep asking for him. When we first were seated, 15 mins went by and we didn't even get water to start us off or even a greeting to know who our waiter was, we were just sat by the hostess and that's it. We had to ask other workers for him to come back to give us waters, a to go box, and even the check. I count at least five times of us asking for a waiter. read more

Located in the heart of Ybor, this place is a vibe!!! We enjoyed rock the boat and cry me a river with an espresso martini and sangria to drink. Excellent! We were on the lounge side tonight for a Jill Scott tribute review which was phenomenal. Love that I can hang with my girls, party in the lounge or enjoy a date night in the restaurant depending on the vibe you desire. Great time! 10 out of 10! read more

20% gratuity for a party of 2 during lunch is nuts. The wings and shrimp Poe boy were fire. Service was decent, seems like mostly everyone was in training but the effort was there. The ambiance is always nice. read more

This place came highly recommended by multiple people in Tampa and after a horrible experience at Table 22, we decided to visit here for brunch. I will say, I will have to revisit this place to provide an updated review; as I feel I will enjoy it better during evening hours. The restaurant is a nice size with 2 different sides; restaurant & lounge. We opted to dine on the lounge side. Both are beautiful with wonderful decor. Service was a bit slow, as it took a while for the food to come out but the customer service was good. Our waitress was so nice. I blame myself for not taking her recommendation, as I ended up ordering the deviled eggs and french toast. While the deviled eggs were some of the best I'd had, the french toast wasnt really that good. I'll have to return for evening hours, as I heard it gets LIT at night lol read more
Probably the worst brunch I've ever had for $60. We had a reservation on a Saturday at 11:30 for the lounge which was advertised as a buffet with unlimited mimosas. Upon arriving they told us just to sit anywhere and the place had a very odd stale smell. The server asked what kind of mimosas we would like and came with a carafe and waters. We were given wrist bands for the buffet and told there was plastic silverware and said we could get real silverware on request which we asked for. We never got real silverware. The buffet was underwhelming. Not much fresh food. A small bowl of mixed melons sat on the table not in ice. There were biscuits and cold gravy, scrambled eggs, potatoes, fried chicken, pork chops, shrimp, bacon, mac and cheese, grits, and collard greens. Nothing was overly appetizing or hot. It was difficult eating the biscuits and gravy with a plastic fork and knife. The mimosas were basically juice or made with very weak champagne. Then the music started to get so loud we had to basically yell at each other to hear anything. When I went to the restroom there was a plastic bag over one toilet and the next stall had no toilet paper. There were also no paper towels to dry your hands. I would steer clear of this location. Do yourself a favor and walk a few blocks down to a nice place with $3 martinis. read more

Catering: I used 7th and Grove to cater our Christmas Brunch. I've frequented 7th+Grove many of times for bar/ lounge vibes, even their speakeasy Madame Fortune but never for catering services. They serviced us with a weeks notice. The food was worth the price and they had my food ready on time. We ordered Catfish nuggets, smoked gouda grits, deviled eggs, liege waffles which were ABSOLUTELY amazing - didn't even need syrup, and two variations of wings(mild and plain). We ordered for 25 ppl, we had about 22 people in and out and all the guest devoured the food. The provided and ample amount of sauces, to included syrup, ranch, butter, and their seafood sauce for the catfish was so good- we used the remainder for our own fried shrimp and oysters two days later. The pans they provided were durable and reusable. They deliver within 10 miles, unfortunately we were about 13 miles out. You can complete your purchase through a link provided by the team. read more

Wanted to try this restaurant for a while and it didn't disappoint. The food was hot, made to order, exciting and innovative. Our server Sean was outstanding and amazing. He was friendly, personable and knowledgeable about all things 7th and Grove brunch. He gave us the brunch experience for sure. The interior was beautifully decorated and gave you an artistic vibe. I never do a review while still sitting at the table but baby 7th + Grove restored my hope in the Tampa food scene. Hands down the best food we've had since touching down 3 days ago! Both, the food and service throughout our dining experience were exceptional. We had several diners in our party who required modifications to the standard menu items. Our server, Tamaia, was so gracious and patient. She checked on us often and was extremely friendly. She had a pleasant attitude and a warm smile. The chef, Valerie, was also accommodating and cheerful despite the challenges we may have presented that evening. There's a lounge area separate from the dining. I love this place! My husband started going to 7th +Grove three years ago, and they never disappoint. We recently went for brunch, and the service was fantastic. Our waitress, Yaya, was always pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere is always on point. We both ordered the "Rock the Boat," which features fried catfish that can be fried or seared. It comes with grits, but I substituted them for mac and cheese. The dish also includes collard greens and okra, and it's my favorite! We also ordered deviled eggs topped with shrimp, and everything was delicious. The catfish was fried to perfection! Don't even get me started on the mac and cheese - it's literally the best mac and cheese I've ever had. The collard greens were amazing as well! My husband and I always visit whenever we're in town because the food is truly outstanding. If you're visiting Tampa, you absolutely must check out this place. Open mic night was such a good time, loved the live music the service was great she checked on us even though there was multiple performances and the crowd was growing I got the keke Palmer with rum it was DELICIOUS!!! also the jerk chicken egg rolls BEWARE if you are sensitive to spice be careful because the jerk was kicking but in a good way a lil ranch helped tone it down. Odd combo I know but I put ranch on everything the side sauces were delicious. Overall I suggest you come on Wednesday night to have a mid week good time! read more

Went here for brunch shortly after landing in Tampa. The atmosphere was great, and the food did not disappoint. I ordered the unlimited mimosas and honestly lost count of how many I had. All in all, it was definitely a great time and a perfect way to kick off my trip. read more
I like coming here because I do enjoy the food, but the service is not great. During my last visit, while I was checking out, I mentioned to the waitress that I never got the macaroni and cheese that I ORDERED. Her response was "oh girl you ain't missing nothing" . Me and my husband looked at each other like did she really just say that. She never even offered for me to have it to go or was apologetic. At that point I didn't even care anymore I was just ready to go as we had already waited an hour for my husband's food to come out; they did not even acknowledge that as well. Sooo this place an entire vibe! My sorority had our regional conference in Tampa and 7th + Grove rolled out the pink and green carpet for us! I ordered the Ari Lennox for a drink and it was quite tasty. I had the catfish nuggets and fries. We dined in the lounge so we had to order from the lounge menu. There was an excellent live band there. I will say it was LOUD so it was hard to carry on a conversation, but we made due. Our waitress was OK. Not as attentive or personable as I would've liked, but she was kind enough to take our picture when asked. Let me say, if you are in Tampa you MUST eat at 7th + Grove. We made reservations for 8 and upon arrival we were seated right away. The party side with the DJ where was sat was beautifully decorated. Chef Joi did her thing. The food was absolutely delicious. It speaks for itself. I promise you will not be disappointed. I had The Devils with Shrimp and Rock the Boat (fried catfish)... everything about this catfish dish was the truth. Hands down one of the best dishes I have had out. Give me a bowl of the collard greens any day and I will finish it. read more

Only on Saturday. They do not accept or allow reservations on Sunday.
