I happened to stumble across this place while looking for places to have brunch in Tampa. It's a nice urban social restaurant and bar. It has 2 sides. A full service bar and restaurant on one side and a lounge type atmosphere on the other side with a live DJ. They play a variety of rnb and hip hop from old school to modern day. I really had a nice time. The reason only 4 stars was due to the host not being actively present at the reception area when you walk in. He was too busy on the lounge side dropping it like it was hot and helping the bottle girls "hold" the sign. We stood at the host stand upon entry for a while until someone went to get him from the other side. The food was just "ok". For the price of the food I expected more. I had the lemon pepper honey wings and the chicken and French toast. The wings were not cooked through and served in a bowl which made it very difficult to eat. It came with 2 cornbread muffins that were dense and very dry. The French toast was great. I opted for the one with peaches and icing. It was great. It was served with chicken tenders. Again, in a bowl, which made it very difficult to cut, as I had to dig in the bowl. They were ok, a little on the dry side, the breading was falling off but they were edible. The drinks were flowing and the vibe was good. No complaints there. Would I go back??? Yes, I'll probably try something different on the menu. The space with the DJ is pretty large with good seating options. The DJ was so good, really plays to the crowd We did buffet brunch and was surprise everything had some good flavor. It was about $75 per person before taxes and gratuity, A lot of options for folks without food restrictions and those who are pescatarians. As someone who is gluten free and diary free not a lot of options but it worked with the shrimp grits and bacon, fried chicken. There were many other options biscuits gravy, other meat options, waffle maker, clams, and more. But important to know not everything on their food menu was in the buffet. Our waitress was cool she made she we had refills on our unlimited mimosas. They had cranberry, pineapple, orange juice as mixing options. The mimosas do come pre mixed in a large tower thing. If you are looking for other items on their menu like the catfish and grits they are not included in the unlimited brunch. Brunched at 7th + Grove on a Sunday and it was definitely a vibe! The place was very busy, so felt lucky to get seated on the dining side with access to the full menu. Recommend making a reservation. They also offer a buffet option, which we didn't try this time. Service was definitely slow ...it took a while to get drinks but once they arrived, they were good at least. The food overall was solid. Had the chicken and French toast. The chicken was crispy ...the portion size was generous, and it was definitely filling. Came for brunch and didn't want to leave! The decor in this spot is very simple, deff gives lounge vibes but it's welcoming forsure. We sat at the bar and was greeted immediately. We had a waitress and a trainee. Both did phenomenal! Now this food, omg! I had the crabcake, grits, shrimp and some more things added in. Everything was cooked perfectly. 7th + Grove in Ybor City never disappoints. It's easily one if my favorite spots in the area. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, the food is consistently delicious, and the staff-from hostess to chef- always makes you feel right at home. We stopped by a little before dinner service (which starts at 5pm), so brunch/lunch was still on the menu. I had fried chicken on my mind and couldn't imagine going anywhere else. While we waited, we grabbed cocktails from the lounge and enjoyed the lively atmosphere, this place stays busy no matter the time of day. Once the doors opened for dinner, we were first inside and ready to eat. Chef Joy and sous-chef Jason sent out a meal we're still talking about. What a time!! I truly enjoyed everything from the venue, the music the drinks the staff and of course the food. We made reservations early so we were able to get right to our table. We had a minor in the group so we were only able to sit on 1 side. Both sides have completely different vibes, different djs and kinda different food. But both were still really good. A reason why I cannot give a five star review is because the service was not the best. We had to call for our server numerous times and he tried to make it up by giving us his free shot, which was a nice touch, but then again he left and we had to keep asking for him. When we first were seated, 15 mins went by and we didn't even get water to start us off or even a greeting to know who our waiter was, we were just sat by the hostess and that's it. Probably the worst brunch I've ever had for $60. We had a reservation on a Saturday at 11:30 for the lounge which was advertised as a buffet with unlimited mimosas. Upon arriving they told us just to sit anywhere and the place had a very odd stale smell. The server asked what kind of mimosas we would like and came with a carafe and waters. We were given wrist bands for the buffet and told there was plastic silverware and said we could get real silverware on request which we asked for. We never got real silverware. The buffet was underwhelming. Not much fresh food. A small bowl of mixed melons sat on the table not in ice. There were biscuits and cold gravy, scrambled eggs, potatoes, fried chicken, pork chops, shrimp, bacon, mac and cheese, grits, and collard greens. Nothing was overly appetizing or hot. It was difficult eating the biscuits and gravy with a plastic fork and knife. The mimosas were basically juice or made with very weak champagne. Then the music started to get so loud we had to basically yell at each other to hear anything. When I went to the restroom there was a plastic bag over one toilet and the next stall had no toilet paper. There were also no paper towels to dry your hands. I would steer clear of this location. Do yourself a favor and walk a few blocks down to a nice place with $3 martinis. read more

I will say, I will have to revisit this place to provide an updated review; as I feel I will enjoy it better during evening hours. Catering: I used 7th and Grove to cater our Christmas Brunch. I've frequented 7th+Grove many of times for bar/ lounge vibes, even their speakeasy Madame Fortune but never for catering services. They serviced us with a weeks notice. The food was worth the price and they had my food ready on time. We ordered Catfish nuggets, smoked gouda grits, deviled eggs, liege waffles which were ABSOLUTELY amazing - didn't even need syrup, and two variations of wings(mild and plain). We ordered for 25 ppl, we had about 22 people in and out and all the guest devoured the food. The provided and ample amount of sauces, to included syrup, ranch, butter, and their seafood sauce for the catfish was so good- we used the remainder for our own fried shrimp and oysters two days later. The pans they provided were durable and reusable. They deliver within 10 miles, unfortunately we were about 13 miles out. Sooo this place an entire vibe! My sorority had our regional conference in Tampa and 7th + Grove rolled out the pink and green carpet for us! I ordered the Ari Lennox for a drink and it was quite tasty. I had the catfish nuggets and fries. We dined in the lounge so we had to order from the lounge menu. There was an excellent live band there. I will say it was LOUD so it was hard to carry on a conversation, but we made due. Our waitress was OK. Not as attentive or personable as I would've liked, but she was kind enough to take our picture when asked.
