I had drinks at The Six in Tampa. It is a nice spot with good views, but the drinks were just alright. The staff was not super friendly and the service was slow. It was not a horrible experience, but it would not be my first choice of bar to get a drink. There are definitely better options in the area.

Passion fruit mule on the rooftop

We didn't dine at the restaurant but instead wanted to grab a cocktail on the rooftop area. It was a little hard to find because we'd been to Beacon before (another rooftop bar at the same hotel) so it took us awhile to figure out which way to go. Overall this is a great space to get the rooftop bar vibe without all the crowds. Lots of greenery, great views and seating galore. They even have a giant connect four for the kids. The Bar took awhile but I think they just need more staff/help! Drinks were quite pricey but on par for the area at around $17-20 each. The passionfruit mule was strong and did the job but was a little too sweet for my taste. I think it needs some tartness or freshness added to balance it. It doesn't face west so you won't see most of the sunset but the strung lights really add something to the ambiance.

The host wasn't very pleasant or accommodating but I don't want that interaction to take away from our experience at the Six. We didn't have reservations but the bar was open. We later found out from the bartender that the deck is also available for seating. We just had to order from the bar if we wanted food and drinks. Had no idea this was in the same location as the Beacon. Still provided a great view and the open seating/floor plan outside was wonderful. We came at a great time before they got real busy. The bartenders were absolutely amazing. They were quick and efficient. We didn't order much of the food since we had to head over to the Kat Williams show, but the food smelled amazing and the crab cake was delicious. I'll be sure to share more photos on my next visit!

Come here for the view and for a quick lunch meal. I got the tacos and they were delicious. Service was attentive and great even during our not typical lunch time. Thank you.

I really enjoyed this place. We had originally wanted to get into Beacon, but it was full and we did not want to wait so we ended up at 6. It was a chill place to have a nice drink. We also split the bread pudding dessert which was delicious. Our waitress was very helpful and nice and of course the views were beautiful.

Ronnie, our waiter, was excellent. He made sure he tend to at all times. The food was excellent and the ambiance was superb. We had the whole rooftop to ourselves and we not forgotten once. I highly recommend this location!

Six is an exceptional rooftop bar and restaurant in Tampa, offering stunning views from its patio. Our visit was truly an experience, not just an evening with a few drinks. Our waiter, Dean, made it even more special with his outstanding service and extensive knowledge about wines and beverages. We had guests from Houston, and they were as impressed by Six as we are every time we visit.

EXPECT LONG SERVICE I've never been aggravated enough to open yelp and write a review. Waited at least 30 minutes for our DRINKS. This would be understandable if they were busy. There are 10 people including us sitting outside. Long wait for food then only one set of silverware for multiple people. Had to walk to the bar, ask for silverware and said we wanted to recorder drinks, STILL did not come to the table. Walked and picked up silverware myself. When the server Ashley did arrive at the table, the food was ICE cold. Will not be returning but pretty view.

We enjoyed a golden hour aperol spritz as a group! We intended to have a drink at beacon, but they were full. Six was a great backup option at the JW Marriott, appropriately on the sixth floor with views of the water and sunset. There were no servers at the outdoor tables, you had to order at the bar- which was HECTIC. This would be the only reason for 4/5 stars bs 5/5. The views/vibes were perfect! We also enjoyed some delicious fries with truffle aioli. A perfect golden hour moment for the girls!

Beautiful decor and great table service. The wait for the appetizers was quite long. However, the appetizers were delicious. The golden beet hummus is probably one of the best hummus flavors I've ever had and the bread was perfect. I've never had anything with the flavor combinations from the strawberry champagne tartine. The burger was okay. It was cooked well, but they were stingy with the amarillo ranch chimichurri so it didn't add much flavor. The burger felt like it was missing something.

Came up for a pre-dinner cocktail. Didn't like that we had to drink out of plastic if we sat outside. Cosmo was still good though. Otherwise all good. Place was empty on a Sunday night except for the large party in another area outside.

$29 "Little Gem Salad" which is actually a Caesar salad (yes there is a difference)
Tammy R.

Overpriced and underwhelming! I understand this restaurant is located in the JW Marriott; however, the food quality should match that same quality. 1. $28 crab cakes - they are about an inch and a half in diameter for 2. Wow. 2. $38 shrimp - 4 pieces - ok. 3. $29 "Little Gem Salad" - no, it was a $19 Caesar salad with an added $10 dried out piece of catering looking piece of chicken (you know, that little piece you get on the buffet line). A little gem salad is with the $19, this $29 salad was absolutely not. Total waste of money for less than mediocre food. There are plenty of better places to go in Tampa - save yourself!

I was there on Wednesday to celebrate a friend's birthday. There were 15 of us and our waiter Anthony did a fantastic job with service. It took longer than it should for the food and we were a little antsy near the end. Every dish we tried was yummy. There were no complaints. I'll def visit again.

Broke it open to check it and it was raw. Not safe to eat.

It's got that all-around fun, energetic atmosphere that makes it a solid choice for drinks. Not sure how it is during the week, but it would make for a fun date night spot to grab some cocktails. That said, I had a real hang-up the last time I went with my girlfriend around Christmas. They tried to hit us with a $10 cover just to get in, on top of $15-20 cocktails. I don't mind paying for a nice spot, but the cover felt absurd, especially since it wasn't even busy. The bouncer said we could make a reservation to avoid it, so I did...and then he made us stand outside forever before letting us in. At that point, we should've just left, but since my friend had never been, we stuck it out to try the themed Christmas cocktails. Once inside, there was a two-drink minimum per person, which is kind of crazy. It feels like they jip you either way...cover or no cover, minimum spend or not. While waiting outside (for no real reason, since it was empty), we chatted with a party of six who came straight from Ash (the sister restaurant upstairs). They'd just spent over $1,000 on their meal and were still getting charged a cover to enter Alter Ego. That's poor business, don't force extra fees to guarantee money when good music, drinks, and vibes should bring people in naturally and make them want to spend. There's plenty of places on Water Street with great (and I'd say better) cocktails where you're not forced into minimums or covers. The Christmas cocktail menu was disappointing too, poor selections and way too sugary. Love the potential here, but the strict policies really turned me off and made me want to go elsewhere next time.

They had manhattans on the menu so I gave that a go, it wasn't exactly what I would expect for a manhattan as it was too sweet, but that's okay still good enough to drink! They do have large ice for my old fashioned friends if interested for an upcharge. We went on a Saturday, which was bustling with people (always a good sign), so I recommend making a reservation beforehand. The food overall was as good as breakfast foods can get. It was good, but nothing out of the ordinary or anything so unique that made me want to come here again for brunch. The same sentiment goes for the oysters that we had. This restaurant does not do MP and has a fixed price of $13 for 3 oysters. The sizing of the oysters was on the small side, so it was a bit pricey, but our waitress offered to let us organize them by the regions in which they came from, so that was a nice touch. They were extremely fresh and very delicious. Now, we ordered the Thai Curry Mussels as an appetizer, but it stole the show. Easily the best dish in our spread. The curry sauce was seasoned perfectly, with a hint of sweetness from the bell peppers and saltiness from the mussels. It was the perfect combination of flavors. It is paired with a soft, buttery garlic bread that soaks up the curry quite well. The sauce was so delicious that we asked our waitress for some more bread to finish the sauce off! I would solely come back to this restaurant for this appetizer alone. Overall, the ambiance of the area was very nicely decorated, and the restaurant had soft lighting with large windows to let the sun come through. Our waitress, Cassidy, did a wonderful job. She was very attentive and definitely elevated our experience. + GET THE THAI CURRY MUSSELS, Y'ALL!!!

The ambiance was nice. A lot of eclectic paintings on the walls. And loved the outfits of the servers. Very 20's speakeasy. There is a live jazz band that started performing at 7 pm. They were good but at some points it was a bit difficult to speak and listen to those at your table unless you got really close. My meal hit the spot. We started with a charcuterie board for the table. It had a lot of great options like dried apricots, actual honeycomb pieces, and my most favorite cheese, some Brie cheese. The only thing was there was only 4 pieces of bread, one for each of us, which wasn't enough but I guess it made sense not to fill us up too much. For my main meal I had the sweet potato salad which was very tasty and the sweet potato risotto, which a little spicy kick. The only thing I missed was the Brussels sprouts and potatoes but was told that was from the previous chef. But they serve you enough so you definitely will have left overs. Not a big fan of eating in the lounge areas, those are best just for drinks and maybe desserts. But it's definitely a great place to people watch.
