We also ordered a half cheese, half pepperoni pizza to share. I've never had a "Columbus-style" pizza before. If you're wondering, the crust is somewhat thinner than most pizzas, but not a thin-crust pizza. The toppings are spread all throughout the pizza to the edge, and then cut it in squares (Tavern style). It was very tasty, with a slightly sweet note. My hubby and I ordered the Cobb Salad (without bacon) which was delicious. I really liked the onions on it. It was very fresh and they served a generous portion. Hubby ate the whole thing, but I had the rest of mine for dinner. So good! Two of our friends ordered the Truffle Mushroom Smash Burger and they loved them. I tried my buddy's tater tots, which he ordered with his French Dip. They were nice and crispy, but could have used some kind of flavoring, like Parmesan or truffle. First time! Came in to grab a bite to eat before the hockey game. Cute little bar. Has indoor and outdoor seating, several tvs hung around for sports. Very busy. Had a reservation, so quickly greeted and seated at an inside table. Our server, Sollima (sp?) was so sweet and very attentive. Ordered the Rachel sandwich and loaded tots. Didn't take too long for the food to arrive. The sandwich had great flavor - the only down side was that the bread was on the toasty/burnt side. I asked our server if that was normal (because I plan to return in the future and wanted to know if that is how they serve all Rachel's or if I would order again on a return trip to give it another try). She stated that in fact it is not. I explained that is good to know and that I would for sure give it another try next time. The loaded tots were bomb. We did ask if he could turn on the lightning bolts game last night however he stated that it was not on regular TV and it was hard to get the bolts on any screens in the area. I have been to Small Giant 4-5 times and previously rated it as a 5/5 on Yelp. When they first opened, portions were fairly large, service was quick, and prices were decent for the downtown area. It felt like a fun, modern spot for a weeknight dinner. However, the past 2 times that I have been to Small Giant, prices have gone up and portions have gone significantly down. This past weekend, we stopped by for date night and ordered a shared plate of brussel sprouts, the french dip, and the pastrami burger. Although our server was nice, the service was incredibly slow. It took over 30 minutes for our food to come out, our server never came to refill our waters, and we had to wait probably another 20-30 minutes to pay our bill. When we received our brussel sprouts, they were the same size as the side order despite being double the price. Additionally, the side of brussel sprouts that we ordered with the pastrami burger had an added cost which was not explained to us (this was a change from prior visits to Small Giant where there was no additional charge). The waiter was kind enough to bring out an additional side of brussel sprouts as he also admitted that the shared portion appeared small. However, we were very disappointed with the overall experience and the downward trend at this establishment. I would probably recommend Small Giant more as a bar at this point. read more

We sat down for 10 min until I had to call someone over to take our order. On the bright side, the service improved from that moment. The CheeseSteak Eggrolls was decent, my only con is that they drizzled too much cheese, I couldn't even taste the steak. Overall my main criticism is the over priced food. I guess we were lucky to try their pizza bc so many reviews I read after the fact say it's always unavailable. I will say I was excited bc this pizza appeared to be as I know pizza in a sense of cut square pieces. Since it's coming from Ohio, I'm like oh, I'll give it a chance since it's from the Midwest which is what I like. Well this pizza looked ok. It had a good amount of sauce and cheese and the pepperoni was crunchy, but the pizza was not good and was soggy and in a way maybe was not cooked as thoroughly. Not only did the pizza seem not totally cooked or something like that, it was also cut in a lazy manner. There were huge pieces that we managed to cut with our bread knife which is not the easiest to cut with. I eventually ate the toppings which were easy to fall off this soggy pizza. Service was ok, Ambiance - if you don't like painfully loud where you can't talk with whom you came with, go outside because it's that loud. Outside is nice, but there will always be people just hanging out with their groups after they finish eating loud enough so you can hear every word they say. Def not a great choice, they do have other options here for food. It's not just four options for pizza, there's various apps, and food, sandwich options and drinks which seems to be why people come here more than anything is my guess.
