Went to 1983 for the first time last night for the Love Island Casa Amor viewing event. Off rip the first thing I noticed was that they definitely need a better parking situation. There is overflow parking in the back but that still wasn't enough unfortunately. Upon entering, the restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing, beautiful really! There is a restaurant side, a semi-outdoor portion in the middle and an arcade/ bar on the other side. They really thought of everything! My friends and I ordered two martini towers, wings, truffle fries, a buffalo chicken flat bread, a spicy tuna roll, an 83 tower consisting of a kale caesar salad, spicy vodka rigatoni, truffle fries and Parmesan cheese, and the cookie skillet all off of the happy hour menu. Unfortunately, our martini towers and the 83 tower were taking a very long time to come out after everything else had already arrived at the table and we had to ask a couple of times about the status on them. However, manager Karen was so kind and offered to take them off of the bill for us. She also floated around the restaurant conversing with patrons ensuring everything was good and everyone was having a good time. I think this is a great establishment with a lot of potential I just think that when hosting such a big event with a television personality appearance they should have staffed up the kitchen/ bar and prepared staff a little better for such a large turn out. With that being said, I will definitely be back for another happy hour because although it took a while the food and drinks were great!

Had a fun time having a drink and playing some games at 1983. They have a big bar and lots of tables, but also a decent size gaming area!! Lots of fun games like ski ball, air hockey, shootings games etc. It's not very big but definitely enough to have some fun! I had the Key Lime Martini which was delicious and we did the $30 game card which was unlimited play for an hour. Definitely a fun stop after dinner.

Tried 1983 for the first time tonight for the Girls Who Sip event they will host every Thursday 5-8pm. Networking, headshots, light bites & drinks - my dream. I was impressed by the display and the food. It was hot out but the outdoor patio was completely shaded and had a good amount of fans. Our server Justin was THE BEST!!!!! He was a natural and was super accommodating to all our asks. Not to mention very quick/efficient with all of our asks. I cannot wait to try the rest of the menu. Will be back for not only these weekly social events but in general!

1983 has a really cool concept and visually it makes a great first impression. The combined indoor-outdoor space gives it a fun, open energy. It's perfect for Tampa weather and the design feels trendy and thoughtfully done. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the atmosphere. The dishes sounded great on the menu, but the execution fell flat. Flavors felt underwhelming and not particularly memorable, especially for the price point. It wasn't terrible, just disappointing given how appealing everything looked. Service also left something to be desired. It felt inattentive and a bit disorganized, which added to the overall frustration. There were delays and a lack of follow-through that took away from what could have been a really enjoyable night. The space itself is definitely the highlight, it's a great setting for drinks and socializing. I'd consider coming back for cocktails and the vibe, but I hope the food and service improve to match the potential this place clearly has.

The sushi was a perfect appetizer.

Nice and kinda upscale sports bar ... I like the way the outdoor area blends into the indoor area. There are a bunch of arcade type of games which provides a pleasure distraction if you're looking for a kids friendly place where the adults can let the kids loss while you enjoy an adult beverage. Bunches of TVs which I imagine makes this a great place to watch sports ... though parking seemed a bit limited. Interesting enough, though I didn't check it out, but there appears to be a separate dinner type room opposite the bar/patio area. Way the low rating? Was there for happy hour and was charged $18 for their $9 happy hour expresso martini ... they did correct it but only after I pointed it out ... was a bit unsettling. Anyway, that wasn't enough to make me not come back but I will be on guard though ... which you don't want to be when trying to relax.

1983 is such a fun, well-rounded spot in Tampa. It's relatively new, and I went twice in the same week which says a lot. The first visit was a girls' night, and the food truly impressed us. The salmon and pasta were both excellent fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. Everything felt elevated but still comforting. I loved it so much that I suggested we come back that same week for Football Sunday, and it ended up being the perfect game-day spot. We sat outside, there were plenty of TVs, and the vibe was lively without feeling overwhelming great for groups. They also have an arcade, which adds a fun touch for both kids and adults. The staff was genuinely kind and welcoming during both visits, which really made the experience even better. Parking was easy during the weekday with a lot in the back. On Sunday, valet was required (likely due to the crowd) and was around $5 totally reasonable. Overall, great food, great atmosphere, and a spot I'd confidently recommend for both a night out or game day. I'll definitely be back.

Sooo 1983 Restaurant hasn't missed for me. I've been twice now, and the food has been consistently very good. I love the inside remodel, and the outdoor area is super chill with some game options and a separate arcade space. Everything has tasted really fresh each time I've gone, and I hope they keep that up. I'll definitely be back!

I came here with my family on Christmas Eve. We were happy to have somewhere fun that was open and available seating. We enjoyed our meals and were grateful for a laidback vibe. We appreciated the staff being there on a holiday, so we could celebrate and enjoy one another's company.

Fun place for the family in South Tampa. My kids are still at that age where they love Dave N Busters. But that's in Brandon. I'm not saying that 1983 is the equivalent to DNB. It's not. Their arcade is smaller and more expensive. But it can scatch an itch when the kids want to play video games and I don't feel like driving to Brandon. I made reservations on Opentable, and the table was ready when we arrived. We had a nice seat in the main dining room. Lots of games going on in the background, but we could hold a conversation. The menu was fine for what it was. Nothing particularly innovative, but then neither is DNB. My daughter loved that she had so many options with her kids meal (she chose the mac and cheese, the french fries, the gummi bear lemonade, and the scoop of vanilla ice cream). My husband got a burger, which he described as "fine." He asked for a side salad with ranch instead of the fries, and he said that they were rather stingy with the dressing, to the point that he had to ask for more. I had the spinach and bacon salad with skirt steak. It was pretty good. The steak was cooked to medium rare, which I liked. The beverage menu was fine, more in line with a restaurant focused on brunch than dinner, but I guess that's what the beer was for! The wine list was not impressive for a restaurant that offers a $69 ribeye. My first choice of beer was out, and the second choice only had half a glass left in the tap (she brought it to me for free). I ordered a glass of the only rose on the menu, and it was fine but not worth reordering. All in all, it was a fine meal out, but it wasn't fine dining. The price was slightly higher than Dave N Buster, but I suppose it was worth the convenience fee of not having to leave South Tampa.

I came here with down friends for a birthday. Let me start by saying that the arcade area was not as good as I was expecting. It's more geared towards kids in my opinion than adult. The inside and outside seating area was very nice and chic. The food was also pretty good I had the wings which were delicious. One of my friends got the chicken tender tower. Chicken tenders were average. The presentation was OK. Not sure if it was worth the price. Overall, this is a cool place to watch the game grab some wings and have a drink. I wouldn't come just for the arcade..

Food is for the most part decent. The eggroll cheesesteak meat was a bit chewy and not the best quality but plenty other items to make up for it. Pretzel is AMAZING. Chicken Tender Tower is a great deal. I will say when we went they were playing the most depressing music playlist and it was really killing the vibes. We wanted to hurry and get out because the mood was not good

    - Parking - Not very many spots in the front of the restaurant. They do have valet for $7 but there were spots available across the street for free. - Drinks - The margarita was a favorite for our group. It was delicious and was on the stronger side which I prefer but certainly on the more expensive side at $16 each. - Food - The food was pretty good and didn't take too long to come out. Our group got a few different dishes as you can see and everyone shared that they were happy with their choices. The chicken tender tower was worth it in my opinion. Lots of fries and chicken. I would say that I would have preferred the tenders to be with fresh chicken instead but they were seasoned well. - Service - The server was really nice. She did inform us that there was a two-hour max for the table but did ensure that our drinks were always coming. All the staff were pleasant. - Atmosphere - We chose outdoor seating and were not disappointed. We were able to see the different tv screens to follow the football games and the weather wasn't bad at all so it was pretty comfortable. They have an arcade setup inside. It's not free which sucks but it cute if you want to take the fun inside. - Conclusion - Would recommend for others to check this place out. It's not a place you stay for long and is definitely on the more costly side but the service, food and drinks make it worth it. Personally, because of the parking, table limit and the games not being free, it'll most likely be a good while before returning, but that's just me.

A full service bar and restaurant on one side and a lounge type atmosphere on the other side with a live DJ. They play a variety of rnb and hip hop from old school to modern day. I really had a nice time. The reason only 4 stars was due to the host not being actively present at the reception area when you walk in. He was too busy on the lounge side dropping it like it was hot and helping the bottle girls "hold" the sign. We stood at the host stand upon entry for a while until someone went to get him from the other side. The food was just "ok". For the price of the food I expected more. I had the lemon pepper honey wings and the chicken and French toast. The wings were not cooked through and served in a bowl which made it very difficult to eat. It came with 2 cornbread muffins that were dense and very dry. The French toast was great. I opted for the one with peaches and icing. It was great. It was served with chicken tenders. Again, in a bowl, which made it very difficult to cut, as I had to dig in the bowl. They were ok, a little on the dry side, the breading was falling off but they were edible. The drinks were flowing and the vibe was good. No complaints there. Would I go back??? Yes, I'll probably try something different on the menu. I feel like if the service was a bit better, more attention to detail on the food and the plating of food was different it would have earned 5 stars. But I had an overall nice time.

The Ahi tuna was absolutely delicious.
