Deck sitting area

We were here a few weeks ago with a friend of mine, and we absolutely loved it!!!! We made a reservation for 5pm on the rooftop deck, the view was so beautiful and peaceful. Our waiter Benergy, made sure we had the most amazing experience. He made some great recommendations which we loved, we also made some great connections with the one of the staff members from the downstairs bar who also made great drink recommendations, even for the non alcoholic option. Everyone at this establishment went above and beyond to make sure our experience here was one to remember

So I have given beacon a few tries and the drinks here continue to disappoint me. The views are unmatched though so last night we decided to stop in for dessert and a drink. The espresso martini was bitter and I seen a few of these go back after I sent mine back, the waitress said it was a bad batch. Not sure why this is a batch drink when it should be made to order but anyways it's not the first time that the drinks were terrible here. The desert options were ok and we opted for the cannoli this wasn't bad but not overly impressed with it. Overall I gave two stars mainly for the view and nothing else.

I wrapped up an informal walking tour of Ybor with two friends by hopping on the free TECO trolley and riding over to Beacon, finishing the night at the rooftop bar. It was the perfect finale to an evening of food and drink, with a tremendous view and a beautifully made cocktail. Even on a Thursday night there was still space, and we were seated at an excellent table right by the railing. Benergy was our server and he was outstanding. He struck the right balance of attentiveness and easy confidence, offering thoughtful recommendations that showed he really knows this menu and has spent time with the drinks. His guidance helped us land on exactly the right choices to close out the evening. I ordered a mezcal cocktail that was delicious, strong, and wonderfully balanced. I couldn't tell you what it was called, but I did manage to get a picture before settling in with it. Beacon is a true pleasure on a clear night. Sunset would have been ideal, but in January the sun is long gone by the time you arrive, leaving the Tampa skyline glowing like a constellation. It's a memorable way to end a night in Ybor. The view from this rooftop is beautiful. The server I got was very attentive and kind. I had two cocktails and the pork belly buns, which didn't take longer than 15min to arrive and were delicious!

If you're looking for a first date spot in Tampa Bay, this is it! I've brought hundreds of dates here and they always love it. This is on the short rotation of about 3 spots downtown where women fall in love with you. I highly recommend making a reservation on OpenTable. Then, make sure you ask for a table where you can sit next to one another, and not across. After that, load up on some drinks. And finally, get some pics outside. The staff here always acts like they don't know who you are and are happy to see you even if you brought a date here, Thursday, different date Friday, different date Saturday, and a new girl on Sunday. Absolutely your spot if you live downtown. The drinks are very good too.

Experienced the afternoon tea they have on Saturdays from 10am-2pm. The view is spectacular! Seating outside or inside available which we sat outside. The weather was perfect although it did get rather hot as the day went on. You're given a "birdcage" which is a 3 tier display of options including an array of sandwiches - egg salad, cucumber, chicken salad, ham and cheese along with stuffed mini bell peppers. Desserts are located inside along the bar. Tea options include hot or iced and they serve Tea Forte brand. The mango peach was divine! Great experience! Be warned that they do charge a service fee on top of your bill of $11. We didn't know this so our experience ended up costing us $69! It is endless, meaning you can have as many refills on food and drink as you want.

Stopped by Beacon Rooftop for a friend's birthday and it was fun. It has a great view, good service, and limited seating.

Went to Beacin for the Gasparilla Spill the Tea event and enjoyed how exclusive it felt, the dessert spread, and photo booth option. Service was a little slow but overall a nice time.

We had a great time at Beacon Rooftop! Our waiter and the sunset views were fantastic. We had the Pork Belly Bao Buns and Tuna tartar l, both were prepared well and didn't last long! Menu is a bit on the pricey side but the ambience, service, and drink/food quality made it worth it. Would definitely go back.

Overall 4.5 Beacon is a luxurious cocktail lounge on the 27th floor of the JW Marriott, offering gorgeous views of Tampa Bay with incredible food and drinks! Food & drink 5 The food was absolutely incredible, I simply couldn't get enough of the blood-orange burrata salad, ahi tuna, spicy Brussel sprouts and sweet & spicy pork belly bao buns, that were topped with a freshly pickled slaw. The "above the clouds" cocktail was a delicious and delicate vodka cocktail topped with an egg white foam. Service 4 our service was average, nothing noteworthy. Upon arrival, I was disappointed when my date and I were seated with only one menu and had to ask for a second menu. I felt there were times we were looking for our waitress to place orders, but it was a reasonably busy Friday evening so we were happy to enjoy the weather and views while we waited. Ambiance 5 again, the luxurious rooftop overlooking the bay at sunset cannot be beat. I loved the boho chic decor and luscious greenery. There's a cute little garden area with fresh herbs that's a perfect place to take a picture on the balcony.

Definitely the vibes are amazing here. Visited last Thursday at it was definitely busy and the service wasn't as prompt as I would have liked. We tried the spicy chili oil dumplings, potato with caviar and the scallops. The spicy chili oil dumplings lacked spicy chili taste, and the potatoes were okay but needed more flavor or sauce in my opinion. I think next time I'd just come to order drinks and try eating elsewhere as for those 3 items and 2 drinks per person it was way over $200, which in my opinion isn't worth it for the amount of food.

Loved this place for a bougie lounge afternoon. The ambience and decor is chill and trendy. During the better weather days, sit outside - the sunset view is amazing and unobstructed on the rooftop. Not to mention, this is the tallest rooftop in Tampa Bay, looking out you can see st pete, davis island, clearwater, etc. The food is pricey, shareable plates. I suggest ordering multiple plates and splitting with your party, especially if you want to try multiple things. I didn't do that this time and spent almost $90 on two small plates (pomme pave and scallops) and two drinks (zalamero). The service was very kind and patient when deciding our order. The even considered my reservation note of getting the best seat for the sunset, which I appreciate so much as I was bringing a friend here for the first time. Parking is usually complimentary for three hours, except on game nights. Best dessert option is the lemon tiramisu, sounds a little strange initially but you want regret it. Scallops are bomb and as a non carrot fan, the seasoned carrots were AMAZING.

New favorite foodie find in Tampa? The Beacon. And let me just say... she understood the assignment. To start off service was top notch, so attentive , great recommendations and just fun! Tucked into the heart of Water Street, The Beacon brings elevated floors, vibes, and flavor! yes, the cocktails are just as photogenic as the view. But let's talk FOOD: Pork Belly Bao Buns - These were pillowy-soft, perfectly sweet-and-savory, and the pork belly? Crispy-edged, melty in the middle. Dumplings - Legit little flavor bombs of Wagyu and Lobster The wrapper was silky, the filling was juicy, and the dipping sauce added just the right tangy kick with a spark of spice Brussels Sprouts - If you're sleeping on Brussels, The Beacon's version will wake you up. Crispy, caramelized, and tossed in a glaze that made them feel like dessert with a crunch. Vibes: sleek + modern, with a moody coastal twist. Great for date night, girls night, or treating yourself because you deserve it. Pro tip: Sit on their incredible patio for that golden hour glow, surrounded by tropical plants, as you gaze out on the gorgeous Tampa views while enjoying the TALLEST rooftop in Tampa!! You'll thank me later.

I would like to get drinks before a hockey game, around 5PM on a Saturday. Are jeans and sports attire allowed at that time of day?

Yes, but keep in mind this is a very photogenic place.

It's got that all-around fun, energetic atmosphere that makes it a solid choice for drinks. Not sure how it is during the week, but it would make for a fun date night spot to grab some cocktails. That said, I had a real hang-up the last time I went with my girlfriend around Christmas. They tried to hit us with a $10 cover just to get in, on top of $15-20 cocktails. I don't mind paying for a nice spot, but the cover felt absurd, especially since it wasn't even busy. The bouncer said we could make a reservation to avoid it, so I did...and then he made us stand outside forever before letting us in. At that point, we should've just left, but since my friend had never been, we stuck it out to try the themed Christmas cocktails. Once inside, there was a two-drink minimum per person, which is kind of crazy. It feels like they jip you either way...cover or no cover, minimum spend or not. While waiting outside (for no real reason, since it was empty), we chatted with a party of six who came straight from Ash (the sister restaurant upstairs). They'd just spent over $1,000 on their meal and were still getting charged a cover to enter Alter Ego. That's poor business, don't force extra fees to guarantee money when good music, drinks, and vibes should bring people in naturally and make them want to spend. There's plenty of places on Water Street with great (and I'd say better) cocktails where you're not forced into minimums or covers. The Christmas cocktail menu was disappointing too, poor selections and way too sugary. Love the potential here, but the strict policies really turned me off and made me want to go elsewhere next time.

It was good, but nothing out of the ordinary or anything so unique that made me want to come here again for brunch. The same sentiment goes for the oysters that we had. This restaurant does not do MP and has a fixed price of $13 for 3 oysters. The sizing of the oysters was on the small side, so it was a bit pricey, but our waitress offered to let us organize them by the regions in which they came from, so that was a nice touch. They were extremely fresh and very delicious. Now, we ordered the Thai Curry Mussels as an appetizer, but it stole the show. Easily the best dish in our spread. The curry sauce was seasoned perfectly, with a hint of sweetness from the bell peppers and saltiness from the mussels. It was the perfect combination of flavors. It is paired with a soft, buttery garlic bread that soaks up the curry quite well. The sauce was so delicious that we asked our waitress for some more bread to finish the sauce off! I would solely come back to this restaurant for this appetizer alone. Overall, the ambiance of the area was very nicely decorated, and the restaurant had soft lighting with large windows to let the sun come through. Our waitress, Cassidy, did a wonderful job. She was very attentive and definitely elevated our experience. + GET THE THAI CURRY MUSSELS, Y'ALL!!!

They were good but at some points it was a bit difficult to speak and listen to those at your table unless you got really close. My meal hit the spot. We started with a charcuterie board for the table. It had a lot of great options like dried apricots, actual honeycomb pieces, and my most favorite cheese, some Brie cheese. The only thing was there was only 4 pieces of bread, one for each of us, which wasn't enough but I guess it made sense not to fill us up too much. For my main meal I had the sweet potato salad which was very tasty and the sweet potato risotto, which a little spicy kick. The only thing I missed was the Brussels sprouts and potatoes but was told that was from the previous chef. But they serve you enough so you definitely will have left overs.
