Great food! Lots of options , small shop. Great flavors and portions. Ambience is lacking, outside seating is in a parking lot next to semis

Day 2 of the new job in Ybor and this is my second Cuban sandwich. This spot was recommended by a friend as it has been in business for quite some time. This was a busy place. I was there less than 3 minutes and watched them sell 20 Cubans to all the working guys running in for a quick meal. The sandwich was already made so I just took it back to my office. They only serve food to go as there is no place to sit. I got back and unwrapped the sandwich only to find lettuce and tomato on it. My Cuban buddy said if you see lettuce, run the other way . I tried the sandwich and it wasn't bad for a ham sandwich. The roast pork was sliced rather than pulled on this one, and very sparse. It wasn't a bad sandwich, but it wasn't what I had in mind for a Cuban. The croquetas were on point. This one wasn't my favorite, but I was happy I got to try it. Tomorrow is another day and another sandwich.

This is a true Tampa Gem! Fastest sandwich in town and the price is fair. And the pine scrub setting is classic central Florida. (Owners: please plant a couple long-leaf pines on the property) They have their act together and are aware of every customer. If anything, customers need to step it up a notch to keep it moving. They make sandwiches much faster than jimmy johns. The employees are ready to start your sandwich the minutes you come in. You don't have to wait for an available computer to start your order, just blurt out what you want and go pick out chips and a drink. One of the best under-$10 lunches in Tampa.

Black beans side with onions (no rice). Comes with a side of Cuban bread too

**** Updated Review **** Popped back into D&D because I remembered how awesome their roast pork sandwich was. Well, it was very good again with super soft Cuban bread and tender chunks of pork. I will say that I remember it being a lot more moist as this time it was kind of dry. Though, I might have ordered it with extra au jus last time. Also, the service was super fast and the black beans side is a meal in itself - just like before. Well done, D&D.

Best Cuban Sandwich! Must try the Croquetas!

The food here is amazing quick and easy. They offer a decent verity of sandwich's and hamburgers. Including a rotating hot plate options. Been coming here for a few years now, I don't think I've had a bad thing personally. Also the portions are absolutely heavy. If you get the hot plate you will be walking out with a few pounds of food. They don't skimp on the rice and beans! Things that I recommend are the Cuban, Hamburger, Hot plate chicken and the hot plate pork. Can't go wrong with any of the sides here too. As for the location it's nothing over the top. Outside has plenty of parking but can get full during lunch time. Inside is the same some seating not to much. It's more of a Togo place but still can normally find a seat. If you are in the area and are hungry stop by before 3pm.

I consider myself quite an expert on Cuban food, I'm Cuban and lived in Miami 18 yrs so I know my Cuban food. This is not the place to go. So I had Cuban toast simple right? Cuban bread and butter can't mess that up well they did bread had minimal butter I actually had half there came home toasted the other half and put butter. My boyfriend had the media noche ordered with no pickles and no mustard. It had pickles but guess what it didn't have: pork not one slice not one sliver- zero pork basically we paid for ham and cheese. And not even good ham. It was terrible! Oh and service ? When we got there pretty empty we had like two people ahead of us. It took 30 min to get our order. I had to get up and inquire- honestly I think they forgot. When I approached the counter she asked do I need anything? I said yes my food. The person who took care of us disappeared outside to talk on phone and continued her conversation in the bathroom! I saw her go in yapping on the phone. It gets better- the person serving the food (this place is cafeteria style" was on her cell phone while serving food!! She was holding phone by her neck. Stay away from this place! And they are opening one in my area- Seminole Heights- I won't be going. Again- don't waste your time or money.

We asked the cashier for recommendations and he mentioned the Pork Drizzler and Billy Cheesesteak. We ordered those and a side of fries. I asked for mushrooms on the side for the cheesesteak. We started with a meatball sub (don't break my balls) and Philly cheesesteak (yo mamma). Both delicious, hot and filled with the good stuff. And the bread? Worth the trip on its own lol. Next we tried 3 of their famous chicken cutlet tacos. Caesar salad, Alfredo and vodka pasta. Super messy and super delish. We packed more than half of all that for home. Of course we also took a piece of lemon cello cake and pack of black & white cookies for dessert. Again, both outstanding The place was busy for lunch, cute and family feeling even with a pretty long wait for the food. Fresh and delicious, we will surely be back.

I was there with my mom and my five month old daughter in a stroller, which wasn't easy. This was my first time here and the process of ordering and then waiting for your order to be called was stressful. I checked the menu online before going and there was no mention of the slice specials which I couldn't see easily from the line. I also couldn't see the slice bar or flavors available while in line so that wasn't helpful. The fountain for drinks is behind the counter so you can't get yourself a refill. Instead, you have to go through the crowd again to ask an associate to do it for you. Associates were helpful with my questions. No one was wiping tables down between customers. I ordered the Yo Adrian, Bianca slice, cannoli and lobster tail. The Yo Adrian was okay. Too much soft bread, not enough cheese, good amount of onions and some of the meat was chunks rather than shaved. The Bianca slice was primarily burnt on the bottom and didn't seem fresh which is sad considering we were there before noon. The cannoli was good. The lobster roll pastry was great; likely because it was fresh. The ice cream is in boxes, which have had the top cut off and the cardboard was wet and peeling in one of the boxes I saw while waiting in line. I think skipping the ice cream seems like a safe choice. I won't be rushing back but will return at some point to try a breakfast sandwich on a NY bagel and order a whole pie to try so it's fresh.
