In continuing my Tampa Cuban sandwich tour the next up is Leah's. I was surprised to see other reviewers mention a cafeteria like setup for Leah's. You'd never know that when you are ordering online for delivery. The Cuban sandwich was massive and was easily one of the biggest ones I can remember getting recently from anywhere. It's very heavy on the pork, but that might actually be a positive for many people. It was pretty frustrating that the dessert I ordered that was only described as a "Guava Pastry" actually turned out to be a slice of cake where the frosting was covered in nuts. I'm extremely allergic to nuts so I paid for something I had to throw away. This was a solid Cuban sandwich though, and I would get it again.

The food is authentic and amazing. I got the Cuban Sandwich with everything on it . It is a big sandwich and for me I could only finish one half and more for later. My son got the combo plate of chicken and rice , the chicken was so tender that the bone just slides off. The atmosphere was family friendly and wait time at 2PM on a Thursday was reasonable, I am a out of town visitor and highly recommended if you are looking for an authentic Cuban sandwich or more.

If you come to Tampa, go to Leah's. My associate and i were here on a business trip here for a week and coming here at lunchtime was the highlight of our trip. The food is different everyday but it's always absolutely insane. The Cuban sandwich is the best I've ever had and i live in LA where i frequently go to Porto's. I doubt we'll ever be back in Tampa but this place will live long in the memory

Food was okay. No menu online. A little pricey for what you get. Food is okay for limited options in area.

But to be expected as they have been around since 1905! The food is beyond amazing I've had the Cuban, chicken and rice, steak and the famous 1905 salad. Everything has been fantastic in flavor and portions. Great spot again for work meetings lunch or dinners, anniversary, dates, everything all events. Now for theme, obviously it's a Cuban restaurant so very Cuban/Spanish themed. Now the fun part about this place is the outside looks nothing like the inside. It looks bigger inside honestly as each room has its own theme. If you get a moment to look around do so as it's fascinating!

I loved that it's still run by the fifth generation of the founding family, it makes the experience feel even more special. I ordered the famous 1905 Salad and the Chicken Salteado, and both were fresh and delicious. Everything we had was excellent. The only thing that surprised me, as a Miami Cuban, was not seeing Cuban sodas like Jupiña or Materva on the menu. Not a big deal, just something I expected. Overall, a great meal, great service, and a place I'd happily visit again.

I've only had Argentinian-style milanesa before, and I can easily say I liked the Teresita style better. The marinara sauce on the milanesa brings enough acidity to cut through the grease from the fried meat -- the meat is thin and crispy, but not at all dry. The fries and yellow rice make the meal an absolute steal based on the amount of food you get. My friend had the fried fish, which looked delicious -- excited to try it myself next time. Will definitely be back to try more items on the menu!

We tried a few things: -Churro: okay but definitely stale, wish it had been fresher. This was a bit disappointing. -Chicken and rice: chicken was not very flavorful. The rice was fantastic, perfectly cooked and seasoned -Salmon and fries: this was really good, flavorful and cooked great. We just wish it was a little bigger for the cost. -Vanilla Flan: very good, just a bit small. -Tres Leche: stole the show! Fabulous! I would come back just for this! The texture was perfect and the flavor was flawless! It was sweet but not too sweet. Great dessert! Definitely check your food before leaving though as they did forget part of the meal. Not a big deal as the guy up front was super apologetic and friendly. That dude was great! They need more just like him. Also, not the cleanest, floors needed swept and mopped. (That definitely would have helped the experience) Overall, it was a good/okay experience, just not great.

They have four locations, and we went to the one in the Ybor City Historic District. La Segunda is an institution for Cuban bread and pastries, baking 18K loaves daily and ships nationwide via Goldbelly. Our niece's BF is Cuban, and he said buy anything with guava. In the box (see photo), we bought two each of guava flip (kind of a folded tart or empanada), guava turnover, and guava flip with cream cheese. All of them are delicious! I like the flaky guava turnovers the most even though they didn't survive the transportation across the country in my backpack as well as some of the others. Even though slightly crumbly, still yummy! I also bought butter cookies, sold by the pound. Those are relatively ordinary; I'll skip those in the future. Next time, we are carrying Cuban sandwiches home! I really wish I carried them home. I was having Cuban sandwich withdrawal. This location is older but functional; there isn't seating. Their customers know what they want, and everything moves FAST. If it's your visit (like it was for us), I suggest looking at the menu online to know what to order. The service is friendly, even though I can tell he was a bit exasperated that I didn't just yell out my order and I asked questions. I honestly don't fault him. Busy places have their own pace, and the customers are the ones to keep up. That's perfectly ok.

On this visit, I ordered soup, salad and entrées for 11 adults and 3 little kids. I called the order in 24 hours in advance and had a very nice person who took my order. She was not the usual person but the next morning the Togo/catering manager called to confirm my order. She was outstanding and just the best! I was instructed where to go upon arrival and they would bring my order to the car. That was so easy and very well done. My order was checked multiple times and everything including condiments and service utensils were included. The food was outstanding in preparation and fresh flavors. We did over order but the leftovers were just as good. Our favorites were the 1905 Salad, the Eggplant entree and of course the Picadillo, Ropa Vieja, and Chicken and Yellow rice were traditionally excellent. My wife ordered the empanadas and the half 1905 salad and I ordered the half and half......half Cuban and half 1905 salad. My wife should have added 'bring them together' but she didn't and the server didn't bother to ask so the empanadas came out and everything else came out 15 minutes later. My wife had a cocktail and the bill was $60.20. Issues to fix: 1)I ordered a Coca Cola, $4.00 and in 92 degree weather it melts in 5 minutes. We were there for an hour and not one time did she ask if I'd like a refill. 2)When she made the 1905 table side she literally 'dropped' a handful of salad ON THE FLOOR between my wife's and my seat......she kind of chuckled, gave us our salads and walked away. She literally left the SALAD ON THE FLOOR THE ENTIRE MEAL! During the course of our meal probably 20 employees walked by and never bothered to pick it up. That in itself was the epitome of laziness and complete lack of respect to the customer. Our bill was $60.20 and I tipped $12 which normally I'm a 30% tipper and I could kick myself for giving her 20%. She deserved zero. I know I will never get a response from management but do you think I will ever come back? Nyet.
