This was my first time here, and I had a great experience. Everyone was extremely personable and very welcoming. the food was absolutely delicious and made to order. They have a great menu if you're in the mood for some tasty Spanish food. I ordered the pork mofongo and it was so flavorful. The mojo was perfect and so fresh! The portions were very generous! The plus side of this place is they stay open until 2:30 AM on Fridays and Saturdays as they have a room next-door with the bar a DJ and a dance floor which was so much fun. Whenever I want a some fried plantains, this is my to go spot. I love fritos with longaniza, and sometimes I don't have that in my home. A quick call to Casa del Chimi and I have my food within 15 minutes. This isn't a traditional restaurant as their menu is limited. No rice and beans kinda meals here. They also have the DR famous chimichurri, which is essentially a Dominican burger. It's good, meat, cabbage, and delicious sauce but its what my husband prefers. They have some traditional Hispanic desserts like tres leches and flan, but it's all about Dominican cake. Always so good, moist, and the icing is always on point. Something I MUST get everytime, chinola juice aka passion fruit juice. It reminds of when I climbed trees in DR for the chinolas to make fresh juice. So good that I legit want some right now. This location started out as a food truck, and it seems that this is still their clientele. Often times there aren't many people sitting and eating. If you need to, it's cool. Horrible experience The owner was watching a baseball game the entire time and only turned around to greet a white couple and see if their food was okay. However, he did not greet us nor did the waitress check on our food. She was too busy watching salsa classes next door. She never check to see if we wanted anything else.
