Soooo excited to finally visit Cali Cafe! I'd seen the pan de bono waffle breakfast Sammy in social media and i knew i just HAD to go! Colombian spots like this are my jam & it's been on my list to visit for a minute now. The breakfast Sammy definitely set this place apart from the rest. I'd never heard of this before and honestly it's quite genius. I went on a Saturday morning and boy was it busy busy! I placed my order with the friendly attendant the wait was a bit long but there was plenty of seating inside (i didn't realize how big this place was inside!) so i sat with my book and before i knew it i was walking out with my order! Thankfully i don't live far so i was home with my order in no time. The breakfast waffle Sammy was delicious i ordered mine with sausage and split half of it with my husband. It was soft and cheesy and I'd definitely get it again next time. I also ordered 3 regular pan de Bonos, an arepa con queso, alfajores, and i heard the guava and cheese muffins were a must so i grabbed one too. Oh yeah and two cafe con leches. I see they have lunch as well so I'm gonna have to go back for a lunch Sammy and maybe some empanadas. I love that they have all the tables inside. Sooo, Cali Cafe is a family-owned Colombian café and a true hidden gem in Riverview. I come here pretty often, and honestly, I'm ashamed it took me this long to write a review. If you're in the area, definitely choose this spot over the big franchises. The café has plenty of seating and WiFi, making it a great place to work or just relax. If you're looking for a Colombian spot in the Riverview area, this is the place to go. Great coffee, delicious food, and very reasonable prices. I tried the Colombian Breakfast, which includes an arepa with cheese and eggs (any style); I ordered mine with perico. I also tried the Cuban Breakfast, and both dishes were amazing. The arepa was perfectly crispy, and everything was served hot. The coffee was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We also tried a quesito and a pandebono, both of which were delicious. I'll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu. The only thing I'd mention is that while the service was very friendly, it was a bit slow. However, it didn't ruin the experience at all. We had a group of 10 here at this little hidden gem in Riverview. The coffee is extraordinary as well as the pastries. Our server was very attentive and apologetic when a few of the orders took a little longer. But we didn't mind. The owner came up and greeted us to make sure everything was OK. Wow! I found a hidden gem in the Cali Cafe. Not only was the food superb but the service was even more pleasant. Nicole was my waitress. She was very knowledgeable, passionate, and genuine. She approaches this job as if she was the owner of the business she truly cares about the customers she waits on and makes sure everyone gets a greeting when they walk through the door. Would have never tried this place if my hair dresser didn't recommend it. I was early for my hair appointment, and she said they had an amazing BLT. Amazing doesn't do it justice. This is a terrific cozy Colombian cafe with wonderful coffee and a beautiful array of pastries. Their Guava pastries were some of the best, and their fresh Cinnamon roll was SOO good too. It had a touch of flavor that makes it stand out from regular cinnamon rolls and makes them craveable. This is a hidden gem and you have to dig deep into a little strip mall to find this place. Staying away from the national chains and patronizing local businesses was the goal on our Yelp coffee shop search. There was plenty of free offstreet parking and inside the shop was clean and nicely decorated. There were also bistro tables out front. Since the outdoor seating was situated in the shade, we took advantage of the beautiful December weather. The Columbian coffee was spot-on, bold, flavorful and smooth to the palette. The baked goods were made fresh and they had a wide variety to choose from. We had biscottis with our coffee making this session more of an Italian experience than Colombian for us. The eclairs looked amazing. I was thinking about trying them on my next visit. The young lady who served us was friendly and clearly looking to please us. I MUST Tell u that Cali Cafe is out of this world. I have been here twice and this is one awesome Colombian bakery! My hubby and I go all over looking for the best Colombian bakeries, and this is definitely on the list! The first time I came I fell in love with it right away. I ordered coffee and guava and cheese pastries, alfajores, roscon, Pan de Bono. All great, & they are not all created equally well wherever we go. Everything was excellent. That's hard to find where u like everything I think. I had to come back with my husband. Unfortunately, it was later in the day, but picked up the best loaf of cheese bread loaf, alfajores(which I had gotten last time), and passion fruit mousse. So so good!
