It was a very quiet day for ice cream probably because it's 60° outside but my kids decided that they would really enjoy it so we headed over to a new spot. Thanks to Yelp:). Kimis is located in Riverview which wasn't too far from us. The inside is super clean and plenty of sitting. They do have a long list of flavors and different ways. You can enjoy your ice cream. some really cool flavors like banana pudding, apple pie, peppermint, and cappuccino. My kids went with a classic Cookie Monster and cookie dough both delicious and of course they had to have a cone on top. We would definitely come back. read more

This place was horrible. the ice cream at least. The service was amazing they were nice and quick to respond. The reason I say the place was horrible is because the ice cream shake I received tasted like they replaced the sugar in it with salt and added extra salt. I did ask for shake to be replace or refund. I was informed there is no refunds nor replacements so it was my last 20 dollars spent at kimis ice cream. Oh Kimi's, what have you done? This used to be my favorite ice cream place. Alas, the last two times I have visited, just not good. 1: I ordered a cherry vanilla cone. I noticed the container was nearly empty so I thought the person that waited on me would get another, but NO. She just put the leftovers in the cone and gave it to me. There was very little ice cream and it was very soft, not the hard ice cream they always had. 2: Today we went back, maybe last time was a fluke. But NO. There was plenty of ice cream so choices were good. I got a waffle cone with coffee and Reese's Peanut Butter Cup ice cream. I could tell this wasn't going to be good by how it looked when she was scooping it from the container. First off, the sizes of the servings weren't equal. Lots of coffee (which was flavorless) and a tiny bit of the Reese's on top of it. OMG, this ice cream was softer than soft serve. It was immediately turning into ice cream soup. So disappointed. I don't know if their freezers are working properly, or if this is just what it's like now. What a huge change from how they once were. And their hours are weird. Don't open until 4:30 on weekdays so cannot take the grandkids there after school. So if we want to treat them after school we have to go elsewhere. At least open at 3pm so the after schoolers can enjoy a treat, that is, if this becomes a hard ice cream store again. read more

Little place near my house that I have never been to . I tried the Strawberry Cheesecake and it was better than most. Fresh tasting, not artificial. They told me they make their own Ice Cream 9nsite, so that would speak to the freshness of the strawberry flavor. I ended up ordering Salted Caramel Praline and Turtle. Pretty good overall, the Salted caramel was a little too salty for my taste and a couple of bitter nuts in the Turtle which will happen with fresh ingredients. We decided to stop by for dessert and espresso after having a wonderful dinner at Pho Loc Tho. It's in the same plaza on Boyette and Balm Riverview Rd. I'm so glad that I read the reviews stating that they also serve coffee. Mom loves having her espresso, so this place was perfect. We each had a cup of espresso. It was very nice & strong. Just the way we like it. They have all different types of preparations and syrup flavors for lattes. The coffee is a Cuban roast. I'd definitely go back for coffee or espresso again. They had many homemade ice cream flavors. It was kind of a tough decision for both of us. Mom got the butter pecan, and I got the blueberry pie ice cream. Both were very good. I kind of wish I had sampled the blueberry pie flavor first before getting it. I thought the description said pie crust but it really tasted more like crushed graham crackers. They did offer free samples. I think I'll do that next time. I sampled some of mom's butter pecan which she very much enjoyed. It had large halves of pecan and was very creamy. I just wish they had a size that's smaller than a cup (like a junior cup or something). I can't eat large amounts of ice cream anymore. It's just too filling. I'm looking forward to trying more flavors in the near future. There were a few that popped out at me like the rum raisin and the chocolate therapy. They also had cotton candy and so many other unique flavor combinations that looked really good. I may even try their low fat & no sugar added offerings as well. read more

I saw this place when I went to Sonic's one day and I had this place on the back burner on my days where I am craving ice-cream. Today was that day! They do have dine in and have placed their tables and chair accordingly away from each other to meet guidelines. I always like a good mom and pop ice cream parlor they always have the best flavors. This one is no exception. The scoops are plentiful and the price point is great and it's not too far from home. There are a ton of flavors and for my boyfriend whose a chocolate lover there were so many options he didn't know which one to choose. He went with chocolate therapy and was not disappointed. Came here for the first time this past weekend . The store itself is very cute . The store says it opened at 12:30 , we arrived after 2 and walked in and were the only ones there . My son wanted a chocolate dipped cone with chocolate ice cream . They didn't have the ice cream so he chose another and the girl said the cones weren't ready so it would take a while to make the cone . It took forever for the girls to take all our orders , then they told us their hot fudge wasn't ready either. I'm sorry if you open at 12:30 , everything should be ready . We all finally get our ice cream and my son was still waiting on the stupid chocolate dipped cone . We were all almost done by the time he received it . That to me is stupid as well , why wouldn't those cones be ready to go . Anyway , the service was very slow , nothing ready and for 3 ice creams for $28 ... It's tucked back away from the street behind both the Sonic and the Dunkin' Donuts / Circle K at the intersection of Boyette Rd & Balm Riverview Rd... but let me tell you, this place is worth seeking out. I had two scoops of the maple walnut ice cream in a waffle cone with Heath bar pieces on top, and my pal had the toasted coconut ice cream with pieces of waffle cone on top. Both of them were just phenomenal. Simply delicious. I've had really good maple walnut ice cream up in Maine, and this was the best I had ever had. I almost tried the bourbon pecan ice cream, and I mentioned after I'd had my dessert that I was still really curious how that flavor tasted... no hesitation, they fixed me up a sample spoonful without batting an eye. And I have to say, that had a really wonderful pop of bourbon flavor you'd expect more places might make more mellow.
