This review is long overdue! Bolay is such a blessing for anyone who avoids gluten and/or dairy -- and it's wonderful for anyone trying to eat clean on the go. The bowls are reasonably priced and packed with flavor. My go-to is the regular Build-Your-Own Bowl. I choose sweet potato noodles paired with almond kale salad as my base, Brussels sprouts or sweet potatoes for veggies, and tofu (don't worry -- they have plenty of meat options!) for protein, topped with tomatoes, almonds, and pickled onions. It's so delicious and loaded with nutrients to keep me going. Not only is it healthy and satisfying, but the regular bowl is under $12! The staff is also generous with portions, making it an outstanding value. I can't recommend this place enough. I go regularly, and the food and service are consistently excellent. I decided I wanted something extra healthy today so decided on Bolay. I created my own regular bowl and it was delicious! My only slight criticism is that the sweet potatoes were a bit hard.... Still seasoned perfectly! The lemon chicken was amazing, veggies delicious and my favorite was the garlic sauce! I've never had black rice so this was an amazing treat to try. After eating, I didn't feel bloated or stuffed and I could tell it was low in fat but high in protein and flavor. The staff i encountered were friendly enough and the restaurant was clean. Bolay has been a personal favorite for quite some time. Their food options span a wide variety of choices and preferences. Their bowl system lets you either choose a pre-made meal that features a nice combination of their healthy ingredients or make your own explorative choice. If you are a visual person, I strongly recommend that you download the app and see all the details on the food as well as their portioning system. My favorite part of my experience is being able to share with food with my kids. The ladies behind the counter were very patient when my daughter was helping me choose some of the ingredients and I was confident that one of her allergies wasn't going to be an issue because the food was very well sectioned and separated. With everyone doing the fresh healthy bowl casual dining, I figured Bolay would be similar to others I have tried before. To my surprise, I tried this location in Brandon and it definitely rivaled its counterparts Fresh Kitchen. My toddler had the pesto noodles and devoured it! I didn't even need to feed her. I had their rainbow bowl and the two chicken thighs were large, juicy and flavorful. Opened the two bowls at home and they were chock-full of all the fresh ingredients we picked to the brim. Awesome. Didn't even need the two sauces they let you pick cuz the food was so fresh and flavorful. Every forkful had it's own unique blend of tastes and they were all great together. The chipotle sauce was tasty and light. The ginger tumeric had a great taste but was made with a mayo base I think and was just too thick/heavy. If they thinned it out a bit it would be perfect. This minor shortcoming was not enough to earn less than 5 stars. Enough food for 2 more meals, all for $10-15. Will Definitely be eating here again soon and frequently. My wife and I wanted a low-key, relatively healthy dinner and that's just what we got at Bolay of Brandon. My wife and I arrived here around 5pm on a weekday night. We've seen Bolay around and just never made the move to stop in. We've been meaning to try this place. We walked into a mostly empty restaurant and got right in line. The service is like a Chipotle where you start with the base of what you want, here, a bowl or wrap, and then build from there. You can also go with their pre-designed flavors, which we did. My wife ordered the mojo pulled pork bowl. This started with jasmine rice and was topped with kale salad, power beans, mojo flavored pulled pork and then topped with fresh pickled red onions, chopped cilantro and a savory, creamy, garlic and herb sauce. She really enjoyed it! I ordered the Steak au jus bol. This one also started with jasmine rice and was topped with a spinach and almond salad, fire roasted corn, steak au jus, parmesan, chimichurri tomatoes and the same creamy garlic and herb sauce. One stand-out was the steak. The steak was cooked medium-rare. It wasn't chewy or over cooked at all. It had great flavor and seemed to be top quality meat. Both bowls offered up fresh ingredients that had a mix of flavors and textures. Soft, crunchy, meaty, filling but not overly filling and just good. The mojo pulled pork bowl was so good that we decided to recreate it at home ourselves. We even pickled our own red onions. I'd say if you're looking for a lighter, healthier meal out check out Bolay. It's simple but tasty and won't leave you feeling heavy. Super tasty and get much needed collagen from the skin. Yes most have been led to believe it is not healthy, but that's where the collagen is ladies. Bone in just adds more flavor as it cooks. The spinach salad and chimichurri tomatoes with corn and topped with their creamy garlic and herb sauce was divine. The chicken was perfectly cooked and flavorful. My daughter got food poisoning from this location today. She got a kids chicken bowl with the citrus chicken and immediately after eating it felt sluggish, then a stomach ache arose and she has already thrown up twice. She always has the same breakfast so I know it wasn't that. I'm giving this location a star for customer service but I'm extremely disappointed that going here is causing her to have food poisoning like this. *I contacted the general manager and he refunded our meal and told us that our next meal was on him. He handled my complain swiftly which I appreciate. I stressed to him how important proper cleanliness was and that they have an extremely important responsibility on their hands.
