When I opened up the bag I thought something was missing because of how small the containers are. Secondly the taste and cost as well as size I got the small maple burnt ends ($15!!) for the amount I got I really don't think it's worth 15, I know it's a starter and small but I expected more. The collard greens the price is fine for a side ($5) but they are wayyyy too spicy, I like spicy but these are not what I was hoping for or expecting, you get more heat and burn than the taste or the collard greens which makes me sad. Overall. It's not horrible but not at all what I was expecting especially from a 4.1 star rating. The portion was smaller than expected and the collard greens was too spicy ( I've never had spicy collard greens). I am disappointed, it tastes good but yeah. The service was a bit slow. The place is very clean and inviting. My wife rated her brisket as a 2. She's not fond of chopped brisket because it's often a bit dry. That was the case today. I rated my bacon jam burger as a 3. They provided a lot of meat. It was smoked well, but the burger was dry. The fries were rather decent. My partner and I went to Brick's Smoked Meats to try it out. We entered and sat at the bar after reading the sign to "seat yourself." After approximately 4-5 mins, our bartender comes around to the bar and greets us. This was less than ideal but not a deal breaker. We order two alcoholic drinks and an appetizer, Buffalo Chicken Dip. A few minutes later we receive our appetizer. Very rough in appearance but overall tasty and good price for the quality and quantity. Several minutes after getting our appetizer, we finally get our drinks. Not great pacing but, at least the drinks tasted okay. Concerning that pacing couldn't be held despite the restaurant being mostly empty on a Friday night. We ordered food through the Key because our bartender stepped away to help other guests. We ordered the brisket platter with Texas caviar and collard greens and a sausage. The food arrived fast but that is the expectation for a place with pre cooked meats and sides. Unfortunately, the sausage was forgotten. We let the food runner know who let our bartender know and they rang it in. The brisket was lacking in flavor. Not tasty and slightly overcooked where it became mealy instead of moist. The Texas caviar was good and the collard greens were simply incredible and the main reason for a 2 star and not a 1 star review. The cornbread the platter comes with was average at best. We got our sausage after a wait and it was undercooked. The pork sausage was bright pink in the middle. Not, curing salt pink. Raw pork pink. We couldn't eat it and kindly requested it be replaced. We failed to take a picture but it looked somewhat cooked on the outer ring and raw pink pork in the middle. Even the bartender agreed with us and wanted to replace it for us at no hesitation. Thank you, bartender. The general manager brings out the new sausage. This is where things got uncomfortable. Rather than the manager apologizing and taking a humble stance, he immediately was defensive, firm with his tone and explained that the sausage is supposed to come in precooked and that it wasn't their fault. He then further went on to say that it's the smoke that causes that pink center. My good Sir, the smoke ring is on the very outside of smoked meats not an undercooked pork center of a sausage. A general manager of a SMOKED MEATS place doesn't know that?? He worded it as if we were uneducated guests who have never had smoked food before. This was very concerning that he would treat guests this way. It's no surprise that his bartender was in the weeds and he failed to help his staff out. Hard to comment on ambience when your restaurant is dead on a Friday evening. TLDR, the greens were amazing, the service inconsistent (also poorly paced) and the manager should maybe consider a different career path rather than attempting to lead a restaurant located in a dilapidated mall. read more

First, I must say we truly enjoyed the food and service. We went around 430 in the afternoon so it was pretty empty minus a few patrons. The ambience was quiet, which we were happy about because we were able to get a "feel" for the restaurant. Our server Dorothy was amazing and very personable. Actually everyone from the hostess to the bartender was amazing..... So far so good. We ordered and was impressed right off the back! Everything looked amazing and made as I say with love .... It was my bday so the hostess conveyed this to our server Dorothy. They gave me a free dessert to celebrate my day. I chose the brûlée banana pudding which was, chefs kiss. I make a mean banana pudding myself but the touch of lemon I tasted in theirs took it up a notch.... Noted lol We will definitely be back. My mom and I had our meals delivered and they were still pretty fresh even though delivery person didn't tell us when it arrives so sitting outside for a while. She had the regular size nachos and she said they were very tasty although quite spicy due to the jalapeños. I had the pulled brisket with sweet potato fries and collard greens. I thought everything was really good, especially the pulled brisket which was seasoned well and tender. It was very spicy as well and I think that was largely due to the sauce that came with it. This is a pet peeve of mine from past service industry but it took wayyy too long for our server to greet us. She had been chatting in the back, walked up front and I had even made eye contact not knowing she was our server, and she still had to be told by the other seasoned server that we were her table. Love the look of the inside ambiance but already not a great start. The Mac and cheese bites were dry inside, literally just tasted like plain pasta and the cheese sauce on the side was hardened. Great BBQ in the mall. This restaurant is well decorated with high ceilings. I like the dining atmosphere. Very pleasant. The outside has a smoky metal bull with smoke coming out of the nose. The metal bull is actually a smoke BBQ pit. We were here for lunch. The lunch menu is much affordable. We find out there is a happy hours menu too. Their happy hour menu is start from 2 pm to 7 pm daily. The happy hour has $5 cocktails and $5 snack. We order their famous smoked wings. These wings is great smoked flavor. Not mention their marinated sauce, it is taste very delicious. Highly recommended. The main dish is the meat and meat. We have to choose two different meat. We got their house brisket brisket and the St. Louis Rib. The brisket is amazing and the rib meat fall off the bone. The bae took me out here for dinner & we both hadn't been here before, but we were both enticed by the prospect of having some great brisket as it can be difficult to find bomb bbq around here. Our waiter, Josh, was very attentive and honest about questions we had about different menu items, which is something we both appreciated. This restaurant is located in Brandon Mall, next to Cheesecake Factory and across from PF Changs, and has plenty of parking. We arrived for lunch on a weekday when it wasn't too busy. The service was great from beginning to end. Our server was in training but she was awesome. She was readily available to fill our glasses and give us tips on what to order. She shared her favorites, which she didn't steer us wrong. They had comfortable booth seating and many tables set up for evening dining. We started off with the Bacon Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers with chili ranch with cilantro. Just the right touch of firey sweetness. We got the Pulled Pork and Prime Brisket sandwiches with poblano slaw, pickled red onion and pickles, with side of collard greens and pimento Mac n cheese. Can't forget desserts. The restaurant is huge and spacious with a patio and plenty tvs around the bar. brick's has lunch and brunch specials with $20 bottomless mimosas with multiple mixer options and seasonal sangrias. The mimosas are good and I'd recommend the blackberry smash for a cocktail. It's one of the few places in the area that has burnt ends and each dish is a great choice. I've had the deviled eggs topped with burnt ends and the burnt end tacos as well as a side of them and they are addictive! Another fave is the pimento Mac and cheese - it's so creamy and flavorful with chunks of jalapeños! The service is always prompt and satisfactory. Went here for lunch at about 1 pm. It took awhile to get seated and even longer to get out water after we asked for them. I ordered the burnt ends appetizer and side of baked beans. The beans were probably the best I've ever had and the burnt ends were basically meat candy. They were awesome. After placing our food order it did take quite a while to get it to the table and it was not terribly busy. I will go back and hope the service improves. This places decor looks amazing and the events room was great when we attend the Honor Table last year. We have been here for drinks several times and sat out be the fire place on the front patio. So we opted for dinner there to try out the full menu. We were seated near the musician and he was good but the acoustic inside with the exposed ceiling made it a little bit too much. Our waitress was friendly but she seems a little new as the times to get back to us through out the night were clearly evident especially at the end of the meal. The Mrs order one of the only fish dish available and this was the grilled salmon found under the Non-Smoked section. She was happy with her dish. Mine on the other hand was a 2 meat with the homemade sausage and St. Louis Ribs with a side of Brussels sprouts and street corn. My ribs had been cooked earlier in the day as evident by the hard chewiness of the back strap and the rubber texture. The sausage while tasty was cold just like the Brussels sprouts with a ton of under cooked bacon pieces and the street corn that was cold and creamy. I have not been impressed by the BBQ either time I have eating here but will defiantly be back for the drinks on the patio before dining somewhere else. We waited 20 minutes on a not so busy night to get the check, another 10 for her to comeback to get the check to cash us out. There were only 5 tables in our section split between three waitress 4 managers, and 4 extra support staff. Hard to believe with this much staff food couple cone out cold. read more

I'm going to just start off by saying that the only reason I am giving this place 4 stars is because the smoked wings with dry rub are utterly amazing! Some of the best wings around. I will come back for the wings (and probably the wings only) because they are that good. The place is big and spacious. We came on a Friday night, a little later, and were nowhere near the time of the day that it would be a dinner rush. There were about 8 tables of people in the whole restaurant, and we were seated immediately. Service got extremely slow from that point on. We ordered our drinks, and it took about 16 minutes for them to arrive. This was a common theme for the whole night: extremely slow service. If you are coming here, plan on being here awhile. What made it worse, is that the other common theme of the night was the group of staff that stood huddled in a group chatting most of the night while we were getting service that was very slow. Other than the wings, the rest of the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the Fruitville Fizz to drink. It's supposedly ginger beer, pomegranate juice, and muddled berries. It had zero ginger taste to it. I also couldn't find any pomegranate taste. It tasted like bland crushed berries and water. No fizz to it at all. Extremely disappointing and not worth $6. My partner got the chophouse burger which was completely unseasoned. The potato salad was also completely unseasoned. The house sausage was good. The smoked turkey was good too. Neither of these were great; they were good enough to eat, but I probably would not come back for either. The brisket, which is their signature meat, was soft and tender but flavorless. It was a big disappointment. The cornbread muffin that comes with the platter was kind of sad and flavorless as well. The pimiento Mac and cheese was a gross gelatinous disaster. The sweet potato mash was decent but not worth the significant up charge. Needless to say, the wings were the star of the show and the only reason we would be back. If not for the wings, I don't know if I could rate this place more than 2-3 stars. read more

And our appetizer the quesadillas we had were fantastic the best we've ever had and my wife is Latino. And I love Mexican food. My wife had a filet mignon with crispy onion rings and mashed potatoes and I had smoked meatloaf, which was fantastic. Everything was very flavorful, and the service was fantastic.
