Amazing tacos - incredible variety, and ridiculously good flavors. What is there not to love! Agua frescas, shrimp tacos but my favorite is the Birria with just outrageous flavor! Highly encouraged and if you haven't been there, you're really missing out. Note they're not open on Sundays, so make sure you get there before Saturday is done.
Great food, and great price! Staff was very nice and service was quick. They had cool Spanish music playing over the speakers. There were tons of people (including nurses from the hospital across the street!) and everyone was loving the food. The tacos birria were really good, and so was the burrito, which isn't pictured here since it was so good and we ate it so quick haha. Definitely check this place out!
Los Chapos Tacos - Brandon, FL I've been on a serious hunt for truly authentic Mexican food in the Brandon/Tampa area for years, and this little hole-in-the-wall next to the HCA hospital absolutely nailed it. I ordered the Al Pastor burrito -- twice in one week -- specifically to test consistency. Both visits were outstanding. The flavors were vibrant and clean: fresh pineapple, bright cilantro, perfectly seasoned meat, and you could even pick up subtle notes of cinnamon. Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and genuinely authentic, not over-processed or masked with heavy sauces. What really stood out was the care. The staff checked on me while I was eating, genuinely wanting to make sure everything was right. It felt less like a restaurant and more like being in someone's kitchen -- that comforting "grandma making sure you're fed right" kind of energy. Warm, welcoming, and personal. I've traveled extensively in Mexico and lived in Florida for years trying to find a place that hits the mark for real Mexican flavor -- and this place absolutely delivers. Hands down, this is the best Mexican food I've found in this area in a long time. If you're anywhere near Brandon and love authentic Mexican food, do yourself a favor and stop here. You won't regret it.
Ambience is excellent. Its seating is limited, but they are quick with the food so its limited space is not noticeable as they have a quick turnaround. The food is flavorful and filling. I loved the carnitas; I also had the al pastor, elotes cup, and omg their NACHOS! It packs a punch but well made with layers of flavor with meat, guacamole, cream, cheese...all amazing and delicious. As everyone else said, your belly will be happy but your wallet will cry.
in general been going to the ybor location for some years now no problem with anything food is on point service is great i love this spot more because plenty of parking and i'm closer to this one overall great place and i have been trying different dishes as well some i forget to post ops the owners are beautiful ppl indeed ...i love los chapos tacos For the record ybor locations parking is crazy you lucky if you find a spot it's street parking not a parking lot like in Brandon location needed to make that clear...unless they have now improved because they were doing some construction within that area back then...
WOW! I finally came back to this spot to try the food out as I was doing a Uber Delivery and didn't know about this hidden gem. The chicken burrito was fresh and hot. Let's not forget delicious. I will be coming back.
What a delicious spot! I went with some friends to try this place after hearing so many recommendations, and it did not disappoint. We started with the guacamole with chicharrón and the esquite--both were delicious! Then I tried the carnitas, asada, al pastor, and gringa tacos. Wow, the gringa was amazing, packed with cheese and incredible flavor. The asada taco was great too. I'll definitely be back!
What's warm, wet and drippingly delicious???? The Taco Sandwich formally called the Torta ahogada I was really hesitant to try it and came in for steak tacos but the photo on the menu board wouldn't stop staring at me. I ended up ordering it and so glad I did because my Gaaaaaaawwwddddd it was screamingly delicious!
Walked in the door greeted with smiles and friendliness. The food( OMG) soooo good and the place itself is inviting and decorated very nicely . Great food, Great atmosphere!!! Definitely a 10!!!
Overall service wasn't the best, food was okay but asked for cilantro and onion (thought it would come with the tacos, had to serve myself, or ask for it) and was told it was be $0.50, and it was a bit smoky inside the building so now I smell like the place lol. Paid $40 and some change for two birria tacos and two agua frescas which I think is a bit much for missing the key parts of the taco. The horchata wasn't very good (didn't taste very authentic) I asked for a replacement of pineapple and there was no extra fee so that's a plus. I understand some people have some off days but this place doesn't have the vibe.
Got the opportunity to come visit Los Chapos Tacos in Brandon, FL. They recently had thier Grand Opening and so far the locals are getting into the the trend of this taco place. Love Tacos and Mexican food? Then here's a place to come visit. They have 3 locations. One in Ybor City, Second in Lutz and third in Brandon, FL. Thier tacos and mexican dishes are good so I would definitely recommend you to check them out.

Food was absolutely delicious, we ordered within 30 minutes of closing and everything was still fresh! Super cute establishment! Service was good too! read more
First visit after seeing all the ads online. The location in Brandon is along a busy roadway and may be difficult to get to. But with some patience and planning, it should not be a problem. This location is a bit small but there are some tables outside too. Latino music is playing, and immediately, you're in the mood. At least I was. I saw one on my favorites on the menu the birria tacos. Two perfectly made tacos with that broth on the side and a wedge of lime. Unfortunately, it does not come with any sides. I opted for the beans. You get a nice portion. I also got a passion fruit agua fresca. Again perfect. The service was fast. The place was clean. And the food was excellent. This is going to be a go to when I'm in Brandon. read more

While on shenanigan's before work. I decided to stop here. Place is very cute inside! Gives me Quinceañera vibes. Nice little setup, decent selection of drinks n alcoholic beverages. Menu is easy to read to. Went with 6 street tacos n the queso nachos. Nice and flavorful, will be coming back to try their other stuff. Im in a little rush. read more

They make amazing tasting burritos here! I got the Chicharrones burrito and highly recommend this to anyone. The pork belly meat was nice and tender and it comes with side of corn chips. My friends got the chicken burrito and portobello burritos and they loved their selection. No table service, you order at counter, they will bring out food to you when ready, and you are supposed to clean up after yourself. Food is fast to get ready, about 5 minutes. Located just across from the hospital. Plenty of parking in the small plaza. Can't give 5 stars because it's kinda pricey, 3 burritos, 3 waters cost $49 read more

So blown away by my meal here! The birria tacos were some of the best I've had so far. They were huge and so flavorful. Even after dipping in the consome they still had that nice crunch on the outside. I ordered the churros with Nutella dip and of course it was delicious. How can you go wrong with sugar and nutella? The horchata was so refreshing, it was perfectly sweet and had a strong cinnamon flavor. The service was super quick too, I didn't wait too long and my food was nice and hot. Everyone working here was so nice, needless to say I had a great experience. The neon sign and the palm tree decor was super cute, it felt very trendy and modern yet still retaining that tropical atmosphere. Definitely need to go back! Taquerias are my magical place! Especially when they're hyped up like los chapos tacos and 5 minutes from my house! I ordered the chips & guac - nice and fresh but definitely pricy! I had the Carne Asada and Al Pastor street tacos. Both extremely flavorful but if I had to pick- the Al pastor was my favorite. I washed it down with a nicely chilled limeade. I found out about Los Chapos when I was delivering for Uber. It's a little hole in the wall taco joint and can be easily missed if you aren't paying attention. When I picked up my order the first time I walked through the doors, I was hit by the most delicious mouth watering aroma I've ever smelled. Mexican food is my weakness and I knew immediately I had to try them out. A few days later, I came back for the birria tacos & a cheese quesadilla, and I fell in love! They also have fresh juices I would LOVE to try one day! Fantastic "taco truck" tacos with tons of flavor! read more

I think one of the craziest things I've ever heard from a restaurant that sells tacos is that if I order online, I have to request that I want sauce with my tacos that would otherwise be AUTOMATIC when I order in store. These tacos are dry as hell and y'all have the audacity to say I need to request sauce for pulled pork. Please be so serious and use your brains. It's not lost on me that I'm paying for food to be prepped and delivered to my house just to be inconvenienced after an hour wait. read more
