Came here two days in a row. Granted it's back to back, but it's still nice to walk in and have the bartender, Samantha, remember my choice of beer. This time I was in here for the shepherd's pie. From being here before, I'd seen someone else order it and noticed it comes in a mini cast iron; he serving option alone is already promising. The shepherd's pie is absolutely delicious, no notes. The mash on top was broiled with just enough crisp, so smooth and creamy underneath. The ground meat below was cooked hot with smoke, and every bite was hearty and rich, with noticeable touches of herb. I don't like peas, so the shepherd's pie here coming with carrots instead makes it even better for me, and the crispy shallots on top give an occasional crunch. So far I've tried three dishes here, and I've been happy with all of them. These dishes are the kind I'd come back for, but this really solidifies the impression that most, if not all, of the menu would be worth trying. Pair that with the friendly, attentive staff and the relaxing atmosphere, and this is for sure a top pick. read more

Stopped in here for a beer after watching a movie at the AMC a few miles away. It is an Irish pub with food. The menus were kind of old and a little soiled so if the food is good here I will never know because I wouldn't touch the menus. Sat at the bar and asked for the name of a beer they had on tap. She gave me a generic answer and it turns out she was right. It was just called Channelside IPA. Still the interaction wasn't very pleasant and in fact was a little awkward. Definitely didn't feel welcome. Also didn't help that I am naturally a smart Alec. All I know is we definitely didn't click. I settled in on a Smithwicks Red Ale. Finished my beer and promptly left. The experience was Meh. The beer was good though. read more

We went to Strandhill Public to watch Sunday football. They advertised on their website as a place to watch NFL games. The place wasn't very busy but they only had one server, a busboy, and a bartender. We asked to sit with a view of our game and the server went off to ask about switching the tv. We finally had to move to a different table which was fine but could've been done in the first place. Food was excellent. I had the smash burger and fries. Service was okay. She did her best. We will definitely go back for the food, but I wouldn't go to watch football again. There are places that are better organized for watching all the games on Sunday. I do want to go back for their brunch menu. It looked nice. The ambiance during brunch was nice with very quiet church like music playing. read more

Visited while traveling for work so it was nice to find a local, welcoming spot. Happened to go during a Trivia Night event, which was a lot of fun. The restaurant has that Irish Pub feel which is always very inviting. I had the French Onion Soup which was perfect taste, the fig and goat cheese flat bread was on a focaccia crust which made it taste even better. My server, Rory was very sweet, attentive, and helpful when ordering. I'll definitely go again! read more

The outside of this restaurant definitely makes you want to step inside. We were promptly greeted and quickly served by Casey. She was amazing! She was attentive, friendly, helpful and just all around AMAZING at her job! The whiskey burger was recommended and did not disappoint! Cooked perfectly, juicy and so very tasty! We enjoyed everything about our experience here! read more

Nice clean place with a really good Irish Whiskey Burger. One burger was enough for two of us. Casey is friendly and spent a good amount of time talking with us about a multitude of topics. Restrooms are clean but missing towels or a way to dry hands after washing. I snagged a napkin from the service counter just outside the restroom. Prices are fair and included a discount with presenting a military ID. This is a recommend from me! I will be going back for that burger. read more

We had a solid meal here. The atmosphere is a combination of bar, dining in, dining outside. Love the lights - it makes for more of an intimate experience. Service was very good. He had the Shepard's Pie (made with lamb). And he loved it. I ordered from the special menu and got the Goat Cheese, Fig, sweet onion flatbread and it was delicious. Truly - hope they keep it on the main menu. Beer was cold, prices are fair. Definitely recommend! read more

Good place to go for a laidback meal. Love the ambiance of the interior. Definitely gives off the Irish pub vibes. Super friendly servers. I got the Corned Beef Sandwich and was delighted with the portion size. Lots of layers of meat that was well seasoned and goes perfectly with a good Irish Beer. The bread slices could have used a bit more toasting as they started getting soggy towards the end. But all in all, a place I would happily come back to in the future :) read more

This was a super fun cozy discovery on a cold night! Popped in for dinner, and the dark restaurant with festive lights was perfect - also plenty of seating. They had 90's music trivia (wed) which we didn't expect to play but it ended up being a blast. The fish and chips were actually very good, and they also had malt vinegar which is a must! Our group tried the Irish version of a scotch egg which we enjoyed. Group also ordered wings and stew, which also got good marks. All in all, it was a fun and tasty find! read more

Strandhill Public is a cool little spot right in the heart of Brandon, just a few skips from the highway. It's become my go-to place to unwind after work instead of sitting in bumper to bumper traffic. It's also a solid lunch spot, though fair warning, the margaritas are dangerously good so maybe don't overdo it if you've got to head back to the office. The vibe here is modern and fresh no matter what time of day you stop in. Whether you're sitting inside, out on the patio, or posted up at the bar, the service is always on point. The staff is friendly, attentive, and keeps things moving without ever making you feel rushed. Food-wise, I always come back to the sliders and the Cobb salad. Both are consistently great and hit the spot whether I'm in the mood for something hearty or a little lighter. Strandhill Public is one of those places that's easy to love and even easier to make part of your regular routine. read more

Get your holly and jolly, right here. This place knows all about merry and bright! They've decorated to the hilt in here-and at their sister location in Tampa Heights. No corner is left untrimmed. These halls are decked and dazzling! It sends my Christmas heart a rum pum pum pumming! Both locations have the same menu (not large, but good variety) and a fa la la fabulous holiday drink menu-served in the cutest mugs (which you can buy and take home for extra $). Both times, I had the grilled cheese and fries-both times, the sandwich was the perfect combo of crunchy and gooey -and in Brandon, it came with delicious bacon and tomato. I think this meal was less than $15... and it was so filling and satisfying. I was full for the day after a 2pm lunch. Did I tell you about the hot buttered rum? It's velvety comfort and joy, served in an an adorable winking Santa mug. Every time I see hot buttered rum on a menu somewhere, I order it. Only one time was it great-at Killington Ski Resort in Vermont. This... is even better than that. I don't know if it's the oat milk or the type of rum or a secret ingredient-but it's now at the top of my wish list, each holiday season. The elves (staff) in both locations were excellent. All of the servers and bartenders are dressed in festive attire and they seem to be enjoying the seasonal excitement. Both times, our servers knew just when to check in-and when to drop back. Both places were clean. In Brandon, there's a patio out back (with more decorations) and plenty of parking. (It's in a strip mall next to the Hampton Inn at Causeway and Falkenberg) I hope I can get back a couple more times before the season ends-and I hope they do this every year. I'd love to add it to my annual list of "jolliment." Eat, drink and truly be merry, friends! read more

I went to Strandhill Public for their Miracle Pop Up Experience and it so convenient not having to cross the bring. The reservation system is more like a request and they'll text you (or atleast they texted me) about four days before the date i set for reservations confirming. We were a party of 8. If Miracle comes back to strandhill definitely get a reservation and eat, because one, it's crowded but two, the food did not miss ! Our servers were kind. Our cocktails from the Miracle Menu are the same as Miracle as Mezzo, but Strandhill pre batch theirs and weren't as good as the other location where Miracle is hosted. They drinks were super strong though, if that's what you like. They do have an espresso machine, so espresso martinis are pretty tasty here. The mussels are a must try! I devoured them. My friends loved their Smash burgers, as well ! Parking is paid street parking or paid parking lot parking; read more

First of all we had a bunch of promotional gift cards but were told we could only use 1. That I was ok with. Then I found that they deleted the Irish breakfast. So I decided on the smash burger. A 3 oz patty? Seriously? For 12 dollars? Then I added a patty and had to order fries separately. This made my burger a 22 dollar meal. Ridiculous. Pretty sure a 3 oz patty is about equal to a McDonald's McDouble. read more

Dear Strandhill Public, you had me a grass-fed beef patties. What can I say? I like quality. With that said the smash burgers are consistently so good here. I came for the grass-fed but I stayed for the amazing flavors for sure. I also highly recommend the buffalo cauliflower as an appetizers. Overall I feel like this place has incredible potential and think live music would just really kick it up a notch. Upon speaking to my waitress about it she actually said there were complaints about it so they took it off. Here's to hoping for a change in that regard. We'll be back for more delicious food though, with or sans the entertainment. read more

I went here to celebrate the birthday of one friend. We were really excited, but I think we went the wrong day because everything went badly. First, I'd like to mention that the waitress was really helpful and friendly and she tried to make our dinner enjoyable. We tried some beer while waiting for the food, and unfortunately, one of us had some weird accumulation of solids inside the beer. That was disgusting. The waitress changed it, but that really turned off the mood. I tried a Guinness that was OK. After ordering the food we had to wait a long time. While waiting, we noticed that liquid was dripping from the AC of the ceiling. That was not a big problem because we could relocate easily. Our food took a long time, even though there were few people inside. I tried the Shepherd's pie. It had good taste and it was very filling. My friends tried the Drunken mussels, Irish stew, iris whiskey burger, and fish and chips. They said it was OK. We ended with a cheesecake that was fine, but the berries on top were very sour. Everything seemed to be good until later in the night and the next morning when all of us had a strong stomachache. After this experience, I don't think we will go close to this place in the future. read more

Excellent pub experience! Just across the lot from the Hampton Inn, so convenient... Started with Guinness, delicious! Had a snort of Blantons and finished with Jai Lai... The French Onion soup was excellent, so rich! I was delighted to enjoy a hearty serving of Shepards Pie...so good, and piping hot. Sat at the bar, busy upon arrival. It thinned out a bit and I enjoyed continuing conversation with a couple of peeps next to me. Deep color, rich wood interior and a fine booze selection in "the library". I was thrilled to see Blantons available and it tasted as good as it looked. Evan took good care of us from behind the bar. I'll be back! read more

Great place for a date or just out with friends...music is good and not too loud to talk to people. Great drinks and food also!

This bar was located across the street from a hotel I stayed in for a work meeting. As I got in to town, I wanted a quick meal and a cold beer. The Strandhill was able to fulfill all of those needs. I sat at the bar and the bartender greeted me quickly. He was really nice and had good service skills. I got an ice cold mango road and ordered the boneless wings with fries. The boneless wings were ok- nothing amazing but with the beers they tasted better. I would definitely come back next time in town- would try something like Lee though to see if better on the food side. read more

Strandhill public has a Irish pub vibe. I was there for dinner with a large group. They turned the lights down and put little candles on the table. They also had live music beginning at seven. There was a birthday party going on on the patio outside. All these things led to a very festive atmosphere. Prior to the live music they turned the music up for some reason and it was difficult to talk. Our server was very attentive and all our food was delicious. The portions were generous and our food all arrived at the same time. I had the wings which were just slightly overcooked and did not have any buffalo sauce on them, but I was able to just add some hot sauce. It took a long time to get our checks although we were just sitting there enjoying the music anyways. This was my first time at Strand Hill in the evening and I would definitely return. Maybe there's dancing out on the patio if they don't have a party. read more

We ordered takeout, the stew was a shock at 16.00 for what can only be described as a partial serving in a cup. I know times are tough, but this was highway robbery or an oversight or something. I felt so bad for my husband because he was still hungry, I gave him 1/2 of my Buffalo chicken sandwich. I don't recommend to-go, dining in is likely the better choice. Please do better, Strandhill. read more

We came here on a Wednesday for lunch. We were with my parents and sister. The restaurant is in a small strip mall with a few other restaurants and has a large parking lot. It is a good sized space and we were sat immediately. Our server was the bartender, but also might have been the owner or manager. My wife got the pulled pork sandwich and I got the chicken & chutney sandwich. I really loved my sandwich. My sister is vegan. I don't remember what she got, but was able to eat here. read more

This modern Irish pub is really aesthetically pleasing. It is a well kept establishment, everything really is immaculately clean, from the inside, the outside patio to the bathrooms. Service was really good, chilled but on the ball. The management also seemed to be around to help out which is nice to see. The wings were AMAZING, probably the best wings I have had in a while. They were perfectly cooked, seasoned and sauced. This place would be a great date spot, a lovely brunch spot, a nice happy spot or a great local hangout, it's extremely versatile. The ambiance of the place is cool. My husband and I played shuffle board for a few minutes as a waiter cleaned off a table, so that we could sit at a booth. My husband ordered the Fitzgerald's cousin ($14) which has rhubarb bitters in it and he liked it, but it came out as a very small drink, so we would never order that again. I ordered the Lychee Lover's Elixir ($14) which was pretty good. As a vegetarian there isn't many options for me on the menu. The salad descriptions on the menu did not impress me so I ordered the Beyond burger ($16) with waffle fries (+$3). It tasted as good as any other Beyond burger I've had in the past. Next time I might try the Buffalo cauliflower. My husband got the Irish beef stew ($18) which he really enjoyed, so we'll probably be back soon so that he can eat that again. I'm excited to come back on a Wednesday night at 8 pm to play trivia. My waitress said that the 1st place team gets a $30 visa gift card and 2nd place gets free shots. read more
