My wife and I stopped in to this 1916 location for a quick dinner before running some errands. The low-key bar/restaurant offers up great food, refreshing beers and friendly service. It was a few days before Halloween and my family and I needed a quick, early dinner. 5pm at 1916 is quiet. Only a handful of people around. We've been fans of 1916 since living in Plant City and are glad this location on 60 is close to us. Seat yourself and the bartender will come around to take your order. Looking over the menu, they have a good array of options. My wife loves the chicken Caesar salad. I ordered a special for the day, 6 wings for $6 as well as a Hell's Kitchen flat bread pizza. During the wait for our food I played a game where you can win a rubber ducky from a machine. My daughter enjoyed it but we didn't win. When we came back to the table, the manager floating around offered my daughter 2 small duckies for her to play with and keep. Once our food arrived, we dug in. I ordered my wings garlic parmesan. These were the best wings I have had in a while and the next time I want wings, I will be back for these. They were flavorful, meaty and decently sized. The crunch on these was next level and I truly hope they are the exact same the next time I visit. My flatbread was also good. Ample portion with flavorful toppings, cheesy and slightly crunchy with a tasty bread. Pairing these two smaller items together left me full but not stuffed. My wife enjoyed her salad but did note that the chicken didn't seem as fresh as usual and the dressing was way too much. Next time, she would order the dressing on the side so she can control the amount. Our 2-year-old picked from our plates but her palate is much more discerning these days and we're lucky if we can get her to eat mac and cheese. This place is definitely a hidden gem don't pass up a fantastic meal, a great vibe, excellent customer service. It's definitely a nice place to relax after a long day of work and you wanna just chill with some nice music and a few good drinks. but lord have mercy please, please don't skip out on the food! Smh wow every dish is simply delicious and comes out hot and fresh. And if you love mozzarella sticks the pull is something serious IYKYK .. but let's get into this shrimp po boy I had tonight!! Slam dunked it!! Slap a person silly hands down mouth watering ummm delicious and the bread it comes on Omggg I can cry just thinking about how flavorful it was and the shrimps came out cooked just right and that sauce that's drizzled on top smh it's that hint of spicy but not too much gives it just the right kick you need to kick a leg out and shake it's so good! Atmosphere - Great! Like most pubs, the restaurant has a fun feel and is welcoming. There are both high tops and regular 4 top tables. There is a very small stage where live music can be found on a fairly regular basis. Service - Very good. There was a popular musician playing that night and the restaurant was crowded and yet our server did a great job attending to us. Food - Disappointing. The menu is excellent and has many interesting options. I had the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. I have ordered this sandwich often over the years and have enjoyed the authentic version in Nashville. Unfortunately, this sandwich does not measure up to what I expected. The chicken was tender and cooked perfectly. However, the hot sauce had plenty of heat, but little pleasure. In addition the sandwich came with kettle chips which were so hard I was afraid that I might chip a tooth! Overall Value - Just OK. We came for the purpose of hearing Damon, who has been highly recommended by friends. Parking was a bit challenging as many people had the same idea and the lot isn't large. The bar/restaurant is fairly large, with high tops and low tops. The stage area is very small, and can't be seen by all parts of the restaurant. Our server was quick to take our drink order while we looked over the menu. The menu is extensive, with numerous appetizers, sandwiches, salads and entrees. I settled on the French dip,with the parmesan crusted fries as a side. Our food came fairly quick and everything was hot. Since there were 8 of us, food came out at 3 different times, but not too far between. My sandwich was large, and filled with lots of beef and cheese. The au jus was a thick gravy, not what I had ever experienced before. It was way too salty, so I opted not to use it. The fries were very good. The live music was not disappointing. This was our first time visiting the 1916. When we first walked in it was kind of dark and wasn't busy at all. But people started piling in as the night went on. There was someone playing /singing music and he sounded good. The service was great and the beer was cold. We both had the Reuben sandwich and it was probably the best Reuben we've ever had. We ventured out from Riverview for our weekly happy hour with friends. The old parking lot and curb appeal can be misleading. Don't be deterred, the food, service and drinks were all top notch. I had wings which I ordered "Robbie's Way" a mix of Thai Chili and Nashville Hot... the way Robbie (doing double duty as a server and manager) recommended. I went with a group on a Sunday afternoon & we had a lovely experience. I knew the former business that was there, so seeing the transformation was quite shocking. it definitely has an edgy, pub feel. Where we were sitting there's a raised area like a stage, maybe for live music? There's a pool tables and some other games. Our server was attentive and friendly. Our food all came out at the same time. The wings were amazing and probably my most favorite thing was the pub chips. Others in our group had the French dip, salads, and the fish and chips. Everyone enjoyed their food. Definitely will be back to try the flatbreads. Once the word gets out I'm sure 1916 Irish pub will be packed. read more

We have a "gang" that enjoys going out to dinner together most Fridays. Last Friday we tried 1916 Irish Pub for the first time. The place was nearly empty so they were lucky to have the ten of us. The live music group was good. The server, Coleen, was nice. So why two stars? Well, my Shepherd's Pie, although it purported to contain ground lamb, was pretty tasteless. But the biggest problem was the glass of wine I ordered. It was Chardonnay. And it was spoiled. The wine had oxidized. I know wine. The color had turned dark orangey yellow, the smell was musty, and the taste was almost sour. I had another person at the table who also knows wine taste it and she agreed. When I informed our server, she said, "I'm sorry you didn't like it." I explained again that it wasn't that - the wine had oxidized and was spoiled. I explained it was either corked, or it had sat around a long time with air in the bottle. She offered to replace the glass and asked if I would like a Pinot Grigio. I said, if the bartender would open a new bottle of Chardonnay, I would have a glass of that, otherwise, yes, Pinot Grigio. She came back with the Pinot and said the bartender wasn't going to open a fresh bottle of Chardonnay. So if you're there in the next day or two, beware ordering Chardonnay! It really is unconscionable that they would continue to serve that spoiled wine. read more

Was served a 14oz beer - manager/owner stated they don't have 16oz glasses. Then they shouldn't have a pint on the menu. Husband got food poisoning from the beef stew. While out enjoying some shopping, we stopped today for a late lunch at a new place that just opened up by us. Now every time we go into a restaurant lately, it seems that the prices have doubled so going into a place looking at the menu and it takes you back 5 years, well, that's certainly worth checking out! The menu was awesome. Not a 5 page menu, but just enough variety to give each dish some clear thought. The atmosphere was perfect for family and for the "late nighters" it will be as successful. And The service, the service was great and our server gave great food descriptions and suggestions. THE FOOD! The food was beyond anything I've had in a long time. Service is pretty good here. We sit at the bar and never have to wait long to be helped. Manager is super kind and friendly. He steps in and helps where it's needed which is rare to see. Food is good. Fernando is awesome! We came for St.Paddy's day and he was so attentive. Anything needed he would run and take care of in seconds. Don't waste your time or money. We went in on Monday night to watch the NCAA men's final championship basketball game. At first our server was fantastic. Got a round of beers and our appetizers ordered. Food came out relatively quickly. And then another round of beers. And we ordered our dinner. The appetizers were fried pickles and fish dip. Both were what you would expect. The dinners were all below average at best. I had the fish and chips. It was far from Irish fish and chips. At that point in time our server never made it back to the table. We had to get up from our table and go to the bar to get beers refilled. Even then, the bartender and the server were either chatting with each other or chatting with the regulars. They were more concerned with talking to regulars than pouring us more drinks.it's too bad, I would've had many more beverages with my friends. Had we gotten some sort of service. On New Year's Eve my fiancé and his buddy went to grab some beers and lunch at 1916 Brandon. The waitress let them know that there will be free drinks from 9-11 to ring in the new year, which was GREAT! My fiancé and a few friends came up and we're mind boggled when we arrived because there weren't many people. The bartenders were AMAZING!! I cant remember the man's name but the woman's name was Laura. They both did a wonderful job making sure we were satisfied and were so kind! I went to 1916 Irish Pub/Brandon with a group on 12/29/2022. The manager had been told a group of 18 were coming in and had a table set up for us. Our waitress was Viviana and she did and excellent job getting our drinks and taking our order. I have no complaints there. The problem, as I see it, was not having additional waitstaff to help her nor enough kitchen staff to get the food out in a timely manner. We all arrived about 6:00 and one of the ladies didn't get her hamburger until 7:40, the last to be served, and well past when most of us had gotten our food. I had the Irish Stew and an order of mozzarella stick. The Irish stew was delicious and served in a wonderful bread bowl, but the mozzarella sticks were over cooked and had too much Italian seasoning. It took quite a while for Viviana to get us all cashed out because not only was she running our credit cards she still had to deliver food to other guests. While this was happening the manager [or the person I assume was the manager] was schmoozing with table of 4 instead of lending a hand. One lady asked to speak with the manager and he couldn't be bothered to come to the table. This location has only been open since November 2022 so I hope they get all the kinks worked out because last night was not the way to serve guests. read more
