First time here...it was an ok experience. The views were nice. And the staff was friendly. For my meal, the side of rice and beans were great, the rest of it was just ok. Our party of 4 sat outside and ordered a BBQ Bacon cheeseburger, shrimp tacos, bourbon glazed salmon and a warm lobster roll. It was pretty loud outside (and perhaps our waiter was also hard of hearing as well) which caused him to yell and interrupt us often and made him seem rude. We opted to laughed that off and chose grace. None of the appetizers appealed to us so we went straight to entrees. Side note: what kind of seafood restaurant doesn't serve calamari? The food arrived quickly...so quickly that I was actually surprised. My son enjoyed the bacon burger with fries - no complaints. Same for my husband who ordered the bourbon glazed salmon and rice. For the lobster roll and shrimp tacos - I've had better on food trucks. The shrimp tacos are street size but are very flavorful! Unfortunately I replaced the default side with coleslaw and there was a distinct sour taste/smell. My daughter chose yuca fries with the warm lobster roll. The lobster was lukewarm at best and flavorless - not worth trying again. What was supposed to be a nice dinner turned into a complete mess. We were told a 30 minute wait for our preferred seating, which was totally reasonable. Then they called us up only to tell us they randomly moved us inside and now we'd have to wait an hour and 20 minutes to sit where we originally asked. That's not just disorganized, it's straight up unprofessional and disrespectful of people's time. I've honestly never seen a restaurant handle seating this poorly. There was zero communication, zero accountability just a shrug and "wait longer." And the worst part? The food doesn't even make up for it. It's mediocre at best, nothing worth that kind of hassle, and the service is painfully slow on top of everything else. One of my friends took me here for lunch, my first time. The set up of the place was pretty cool. When we were finally taken to a table it wasn't clean and the hostess had already taken off. My friend had to go and track someone down to come and clean the table. She ordered an appetizer that she liked and wants me to try. It was a flat bread with shrimps on it. Was pretty good, just a little on the salty side. They had a special, so I ordered the shrimp tacos, once again pretty good, just a little salty. Dessert however, was really good. It's a good spot to watch the game and have a drink, the food is ok at best but the view and ambience is nice for a neighborhood spot. What's not to love about Tiki docks! My family and I have tried multiple items. Mainly the fried fish and the burgers are great. They make great drinks that are strong if that's your thing. You can sit inside or outside if you want a by the water dinner. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in town and we bring family members to this location when visiting. Very nice addition to the neighborhood. I'm busy nights. There may be a wait, but service is always good once you're seated. read more

I took my family back to Tiki and have to say that not only the menu changed but the taste also changed. No more mojitos, no more tiki wings and ribs. Everything that I loved about Tiki is gone and although the staff were great, the vibe wasn't there and food wasn't good. Only good thing was the chips and queso. I don't often drink, however, when I do it is for enjoyment of my preferred spirit. They have a pre made drink list and you are not allowed to pick the liquor you want unless you pay extra for each shot. Your forced to drink their pre mixed concoction. They have a full bar, however every drink I wanted had a pre-made option. It was an exhausting experience. I finally settled on a margarita with patron and cointreau that was made to order. I just wanted a quiet 30 minutes by the water. I decided to order lunch, the shrimp tacos, recommended by a very nice bartender. The food came to the table looking messy. The flavors were good, I liked the avocado crema and I did enjoy the 2 tacos I ate. However, 1 of my 3 tacos had 1 shrimp in it and nothing was very warm, including the rice and beans. $16.99 was too much for this meal. On a positive note, the view is nice. read more

My first time trying Tiki Docks Riverview with some of my girlfriends and everything I experienced was amazing. From the customer service all the way down to the meal... I give it a 10/10. Sunday lunch (not brunch) review! Visiting family nearby, we decided to head over to Tiki Docks for lunch! Upon check in, we were seated in the back corner closest to the dock on the river which was nice but also noticed it's where they for that moment put most families with children! We started with apps which included the Ahi tuna and the cheese shrimp bread! I like their Ahi tuna and just wish it was a little thicker as it's almost veneer. The additions to the dish are great which is something like a fruit onion mix (maybe mango). The cheese shrimp bread was also good for first time taking it. It had a nice spice to it which was welcomed! Mains included the grouper tacos which were good, but quite drippy as there was a lot of sauce on them. The beans that came with them were cooked perfectly and had a delicious spice to them! Seriously good! I also had the coleslaw which was pretty standard IMO! Don't come here expecting the usual tiki vibe. Aside from the name and a few decorations, you wouldn't really know you're at a tiki bar. The tiki drink menu is super limited (check out my photos for proof). Honestly, it caught me off guard, and for the first time ever, I ended up having a beer at a tiki bar. The place is nice plenty of seating inside and outside, and our server was really sweet, though we never got one thing we ordered (but hey, less calories for us). I was honestly thinking about giving it 2 stars until the food showed up. Wow. The ahi tuna, the Cuban with fries--both yuca and regular--were incredible. Highly recommend those. The food definitely bumped this place up several notches. If only they leaned more into the tiki theme and had more tiki drinks, this could be a solid spot read more

This place is huge and has inside and outside seating. The prices here are very reasonable. My husband had the pulled pork bowl which was a good size. He enjoyed it. I had the grouper tacos. They were real good but they are very small for a taco. The service was good. I will go back to try something else from the menu. read more

We went to celebrate my nephew 18 birthday last night. A party of 10. Ambience was ok because they couldn't quite figure out the lighting. The server was good. My brother ordered the tuner as his appetizer and had to cancel his since he requested his as his appetizer and it never came. That was the last item to be prepared (maybe she forgot since someone else ordered that as a main course). My husband had the shrimp tacos with the grits he said they were ok he should have ordered a Cuban sub that looked better than what he ordered. I ordered the shrimp an fries. Like that it did not have a lot of batter on the shrimp but they could cut back on the black pepper and my fries were cold. The chipotle wings were good the buffalo wings were a bit charred for us. The fried fish and chips my brother said the batter was too heavy and it tasted like the oil needed to be changed and his fries were also cold. The Weeki wachi drinks were good. This is my second time and now I see why after my first visit I have not been back. I only came because my nephew wanted to try it for his 18 birthday and he said the food was ok. He ate 1/2 his sandwich if that much and a few of his wings. He's normally a big eater. To be so close to home have such a nice spot and to be off on simple food was a disappointment. After a long Memorial Day weekend, my husband and I decided to take out the boat and go down Alafia River in Gibsonton, there is where we found this restaurant, the ambience is great. Service is on point no waiting they have plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Food is great I ordered a bucket of grouper with fries , delicious follow with a beer. My friend & I went jet skiing for the day on a beautiful Saturday & decided to stop by Tiki Docks for a bite to eat. I got a virgin Pina Colada (not pictured) that was so refreshing & delicious! For my main I got the hand-battered chicken tenders dinner ($16.99) served with their homemade pina colada honey mustard, cole slaw & dock fries. I opted out of the cole slaw because I'm just not a fan. The crinkle fries were delicious tasting very fresh & crispy. I also got a side of bbq sauce & ranch. Being a ranch connoisseur, I don't believe the ranch dressing was homemade but it wasn't too bad. It was around 3 PM & the restaurant wasn't too busy except the outside bar was full. The service wasn't exceptional but all the basic needs were met & I do believe our server got sat multiple times in a row which may have been why the service was a little slow but overall she still did great. I love this place! I've been here many times and have never been disappointed. The food, service and ambiance are awesome. I've just started going regularly with my Shiba dog and enjoy every visit. On 3/20/25 @ about 7pm i went to dinner at Tiki Docks Riverview. I give the time and date in case a manager reads this review. The white guy who was bartending was horrible! (I type it that way because I don't want to confuse him with anyone else). Unfortunately I didn't get the bartenders name. My husband and I met my brother in law and sister in law for dinner. We sat in the outside bar area. Our lovely server came over and we gave our drink order. I ordered a painkiller drink which was a total disaster. They serve their drinks in disposable cups and my drink was completely packed with ice. Packed to the brim! I've been around awhile and never in any bar or restaurant I've been to in my lifetime seen this much ice in a cocktail! I took my drink and walked over to the bar. I asked the bartender if he made my drink and he replied probably. I then showed him the cup (my brother in laws empty cup) that I used to put all the ice in. It was filled to the brim. I explained that I thought it was a little excessive and that there was still ice in my cup as I couldn't fit any more. I showed him after removing the ice how my drink was now practically now nonexistent ! He was not a nice person and actually he had a nasty attitude towards me. He said I could make you another drink without ice but it will still be the same! I expressed my disappointment to our server. For this reason, I will never be returning to Tiki Docks! For $11 I expect a decent drink. For an appetizer I shared chicken wings with my husband and they were the only good thing I consumed that evening. For dinner I ordered their pork tacos which were a soggy mess when I attempted to eat them. read more

Very light, no texture, no flavor, and a gross bun--not real New England lobster Body: I grew up in New England and have eaten more lobster than any other food, so I know exactly how real lobster should feel and taste. I ordered the warm New England lobster roll at Tiki Docks and was extremely disappointed. The "lobster" was very light, had no texture at all, and was completely bland--none of the sweet, briny flavor that fresh Maine lobster always has. It didn't feel meaty or substantial like real lobster; it felt soft, flimsy, and inauthentic. On top of that, the bun was gross and not even good-tasting on its own. A proper New England lobster roll uses a toasted, buttery split-top bun that complements the lobster, not one that tastes off or unpleasant. Between the bland, textureless meat and the bad bun, this was a major letdown. For a place that specifically advertises warm New England Lobster Rolls in warm lemon-chive butter, the quality was far from authentic real lobster. This is not what New England lobster should be. read more
