Very light, no texture, no flavor, and a gross bun--not real New England lobster Body: I grew up in New England and have eaten more lobster than any other food, so I know exactly how real lobster should feel and taste. I ordered the warm New England lobster roll at Tiki Docks and was extremely disappointed. The "lobster" was very light, had no texture at all, and was completely bland--none of the sweet, briny flavor that fresh Maine lobster always has. It didn't feel meaty or substantial like real lobster; it felt soft, flimsy, and inauthentic. On top of that, the bun was gross and not even good-tasting on its own. A proper New England lobster roll uses a toasted, buttery split-top bun that complements the lobster, not one that tastes off or unpleasant. Between the bland, textureless meat and the bad bun, this was a major letdown. For a place that specifically advertises warm New England Lobster Rolls in warm lemon-chive butter, the quality was far from authentic real lobster. Went for pick up, fast and easy process, parking was easy as they have designed parking area for pick up. Friendly staff at the front desk, nice clean restaurant and waiting area. Okay, first off, I'm going to be That Guy: Tiki Docks is not a tiki bar. At least, not in the sense that true tiki nerds look for, the Trader Vic's and Don the Beachcomber and Mai Kai aesthetic and drink quality. Having said that, though, the drinks at Tiki Docks are still good, and since the parent company brought on an actual Don the Beachcomber manager as beverage director--in large part to help them resurrect the actual Don the Beachcomber brand--they've only been getting better. The Hawaiian Mai Tai, Zombie, Painkiller, and Rum Runner are all solid, and yeah, they make pretty good Piña Coladas, too. The food is also solid, albeit in a "good for what it is" kind of way: it's not going to blow your doors off, but I've enjoyed everything I've had there, from the mojo pork to the fish and chips, the chicken tenders to the (apparently now sadly off the menu) coconut shrimp. The service has always been friendly and efficient. I've never had to wait for a table, either--as crowded as the place gets, it's absolutely huge. read more

Excellent eatery... our waitress/server (Gianna) was very pleasant in her caring for our party of 8 family/friends/ GUESTS which was the first time for most of us to visit. Menu has plenty of options and some explained to the manager who was very receptive to suggestions for our group to also look into menu alterations (surf n turf (chicken wings adding an order of shrimp as a meal). Like the suggestion and other thoughts when presented. The food prices were mostly valued for the food recieved. The location actually accommodated my group as several disability issues were managed (via our pscooters allowed to use an elevator for access). Very welcomed by us greatly- otherwise we would have not been able to access the eatery. Talk to togo employee Iesha or something like that She asked rudely what i want " i tell her to pick up food" she asks me my name and goes away Im standing there over 10 minutes then she comes and asks me again what i wanted and name was... i tell her and looks around for the food before she calls the kitchen and tells me they dont have the entree... Decent location, ample parking, nice little water view... If you are on the deck, the traffic on 301 is busy and a little loud. Service is ok and the food is ok. We had the peel and eat shrimp and that was the star of the show. It was, however, a tiny but overlooked (the other food items were overcooked more) but the flavor and quality of those shrimp were very very good! We also had the shrimp tacos and the ahi, both of those were also overcooked and a lot of sauce on the tacos... I had asked for chopsticks for the ahi and was told they don't have chop sticks but the last time my friend was there and ordered the ahi, they did. I would say there's some inconsistency in service and food. This place could be better, but it's ok. read more

It's been a while that I have been here and now I remember why. They messed up our reservation which cause us to wait forever for a table even though place was half empty. Service still slow as you know what. Got wings sauce was nice actually very good but wings were so soggy skin was nasty. Like they were soaked in water before served. Also got the tuna appetizer. Took our group of 16 three hours from arriving to departure. Service was extremely slow for a Sunday afternoon. Only one waitress assigned to our group. Food was on par with an Applebys. I ordered one of their signature menu items a Tropical Chicken dish with pineapple salsa rice. i could truly tell they used Sweet Baby Rays BBq sauce on the chicken and poured some pineapple juice in with the rice and called it good. my appetizer of buffalo wings were A charred mess. i was not impressed. read more

Honestly was so disappointed. We always sit at the bar outside but decided a change of scenery this evening. The service was so bad and slow it really should not have been like that at all as the bartenders were just hanging around the POS and watched them eat here and there. What should have been a 40 minute outing almost took 2 hours. We work in the service industry and sadly I don't think we will be returning. Had recently eaten at Tiki Docks near Maximo and had some great food and excellent staff, so when our group was over in Riverview we went with the same high expectations. Food was still good, but the bar staff seemed to only tend to their regulars. Seeing as I don't live close enough, I'll never make it to regular status, so I won't return. read more

Tiki Docks has been around my neighborhood for a few years now. Have tried numerous times, always a let down when it came to food. Sounds, looks good, but below average. Today, went for lunch, had a great meal, experience outside on a nice Florida Saturday, kids got to be free to play within reason. Improved outside with shade was outstanding, good feel! New menu, wonderful, prices were okay as food was worth it. Service was fine- our server had a large table, so there were moments that lacked, but understandably. Manager, visited table twice, once to deliver food and second to check back! Very personable and could relate! Nicely done! We will be back more often. read more

This is a beautiful place because of the water views and pretty good customer service with ample parking. The outdoor deck is very nice especially on days when the weather is amazing. I would recommend the peel and eat shrimp, to me it's the best thing on the menu that I've personally tried. I also had the scallop appetizer and it was okay, mine had a little too much peppercorn on them. My wife had the grouper and cheese grits and she said that they needed some seasoning. She said the fish as well as the grits were very bland. She decided to add the rice with hers and that made it taste a lot better. My mom had the fish & chips and it's a huge portion of food but my mom also said that it was hardly seasoned. I've actually had it before and that was my complaint. The bora bora rice was very good and it had a very distinct taste of coconut. We all had portions of the rice because it was that delicious. In Florida for vacation.Met friends there. Had great service ( thanks Jessica). Had an issue with one meal, taken care right away. Loved the seafood comb basket.
