What was supposed to be a nice dinner turned into a complete mess. We were told a 30 minute wait for our preferred seating, which was totally reasonable. Then they called us up only to tell us they randomly moved us inside and now we'd have to wait an hour and 20 minutes to sit where we originally asked. That's not just disorganized, it's straight up unprofessional and disrespectful of people's time. I've honestly never seen a restaurant handle seating this poorly. There was zero communication, zero accountability just a shrug and "wait longer." And the worst part? The food doesn't even make up for it. It's mediocre at best, nothing worth that kind of hassle, and the service is painfully slow on top of everything else. After a long Memorial Day weekend, my husband and I decided to take out the boat and go down Alafia River in Gibsonton, there is where we found this restaurant, the ambience is great. Service is on point no waiting they have plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. Food is great I ordered a bucket of grouper with fries , delicious follow with a beer. Went back again and they changed/cleaned up their menu! I really enjoyed the changes and the new menu items. I got their fried group basket, which was delicious! I might have to get that everytime! On 3/20/25 @ about 7pm i went to dinner at Tiki Docks Riverview. I give the time and date in case a manager reads this review. The white guy who was bartending was horrible! (I type it that way because I don't want to confuse him with anyone else). Unfortunately I didn't get the bartenders name. My husband and I met my brother in law and sister in law for dinner. We sat in the outside bar area. Our lovely server came over and we gave our drink order. I ordered a painkiller drink which was a total disaster. They serve their drinks in disposable cups and my drink was completely packed with ice. Packed to the brim! I've been around awhile and never in any bar or restaurant I've been to in my lifetime seen this much ice in a cocktail! I took my drink and walked over to the bar. I asked the bartender if he made my drink and he replied probably. I then showed him the cup (my brother in laws empty cup) that I used to put all the ice in. It was filled to the brim. I explained that I thought it was a little excessive and that there was still ice in my cup as I couldn't fit any more. I showed him after removing the ice how my drink was now practically now nonexistent ! He was not a nice person and actually he had a nasty attitude towards me. He said I could make you another drink without ice but it will still be the same! I expressed my disappointment to our server. For this reason, I will never be returning to Tiki Docks! For $11 I expect a decent drink. For an appetizer I shared chicken wings with my husband and they were the only good thing I consumed that evening. For dinner I ordered their pork tacos which were a soggy mess when I attempted to eat them. read more

Tiki Docks nails the theme, right on the river with a dock so boats can pull right up, which makes for a genuinely fun setting. It's on the pricier side, but it usually has live music and always has a fun drink menu. Impressive establishment overall. Has a weekly oyster deal. read more

Went for pick up, fast and easy process, parking was easy as they have designed parking area for pick up. Friendly staff at the front desk, nice clean restaurant and waiting area. Okay, first off, I'm going to be That Guy: Tiki Docks is not a tiki bar. At least, not in the sense that true tiki nerds look for, the Trader Vic's and Don the Beachcomber and Mai Kai aesthetic and drink quality. Having said that, though, the drinks at Tiki Docks are still good, and since the parent company brought on an actual Don the Beachcomber manager as beverage director--in large part to help them resurrect the actual Don the Beachcomber brand--they've only been getting better. The Hawaiian Mai Tai, Zombie, Painkiller, and Rum Runner are all solid, and yeah, they make pretty good Piña Coladas, too. The food is also solid, albeit in a "good for what it is" kind of way: it's not going to blow your doors off, but I've enjoyed everything I've had there, from the mojo pork to the fish and chips, the chicken tenders to the (apparently now sadly off the menu) coconut shrimp. The service has always been friendly and efficient. I've never had to wait for a table, either--as crowded as the place gets, it's absolutely huge. read more

We had the peel and eat shrimp and that was the star of the show. It was, however, a tiny but overlooked (the other food items were overcooked more) but the flavor and quality of those shrimp were very very good! We also had the shrimp tacos and the ahi, both of those were also overcooked and a lot of sauce on the tacos... I had asked for chopsticks for the ahi and was told they don't have chop sticks but the last time my friend was there and ordered the ahi, they did. They are deff baby/child friendly and service was decent. I also thought the prices were good. This is a beautiful place because of the water views and pretty good customer service with ample parking. The outdoor deck is very nice especially on days when the weather is amazing. I would recommend the peel and eat shrimp, to me it's the best thing on the menu that I've personally tried. I also had the scallop appetizer and it was okay, mine had a little too much peppercorn on them. My wife had the grouper and cheese grits and she said that they needed some seasoning. She said the fish as well as the grits were very bland. She decided to add the rice with hers and that made it taste a lot better. My mom had the fish & chips and it's a huge portion of food but my mom also said that it was hardly seasoned. I've actually had it before and that was my complaint. Service still slow as you know what. Got wings sauce was nice actually very good but wings were so soggy skin was nasty. Like they were soaked in water before served. Also got the tuna appetizer. My friend & I went jet skiing for the day on a beautiful Saturday & decided to stop by Tiki Docks for a bite to eat. I got a virgin Pina Colada (not pictured) that was so refreshing & delicious! For my main I got the hand-battered chicken tenders dinner ($16.99) served with their homemade pina colada honey mustard, cole slaw & dock fries. I opted out of the cole slaw because I'm just not a fan. The crinkle fries were delicious tasting very fresh & crispy. I also got a side of bbq sauce & ranch. Being a ranch connoisseur, I don't believe the ranch dressing was homemade but it wasn't too bad. It was around 3 PM & the restaurant wasn't too busy except the outside bar was full. The service wasn't exceptional but all the basic needs were met & I do believe our server got sat multiple times in a row which may have been why the service was a little slow but overall she still did great.
