Healthy portion of Catfish breaded lightly, pleasantly flavored and served hot, nicely presented. Seated quickly in booth versus table during weekday lunch hour, thankfully. Background country music easily heard but not overly loud. Inside and outside decor consistent with restaurant name. Lunchtime arrival perfect for parking, seating and service. Conversation with Dani (Attendant), percentage-wise, more customers during evening hour, so very glad I arrived for lunch. Although this was first time to this restaurant, viewed the menu on-line, knew what to order and confirmed catfish (my seafood favorite) was available. Placed order as soon as Dani arrived with beverage (i.e., Pepsi products served). Extremely delicious and satisfying meal arrived within 10 minutes perfectly presented, along with tartar sauce, plasticware, condiments & hand cleaners. Though requested tartar sauce, this was not needed, the seasoning on the catfish was sufficient. Overall, very pleased with the meal, the price ($16.99 Fried 4pc Catfish Basket (took some home, again, healthy portion) with side of coleslaw)) along with the service plus information provided by Dani. Useful location detail: Crafty Crab is located on the north side of Brandon Blvd, east of Ridgeway Ave.

Came here on a Sunday after the idea to visit came up on a Friday evening. Had been craving seafood for literally months! Parking wasn't too bad and the back lot under the trees provided great shade. We walked in and were greeted and sat rather quickly. Dani was our server and was so sweet and patient as this was our first time. She let us know what was included and what the best bang for our buck was. The food was AMAZING! So flavorful, hot and the portion sizes were great. Thanks to Dani for her service and the staff in the back that deserve recognition as well!

Crafty Crab was the very first seafood boil restaurant to open in Brandon. I've tried all the other restaurants with the same concept in this area. Yep, there are three other places. So, why not save the first one that opened in Brandon for last? That makes no sense at all, but I'm glad that I did. There were only a few patrons dining the whole time I was there between noon and 1pm. Fortunately, I had my choice of seating. The restaurant is clean, cool, and comfortable. The menu varies in price range from just under $10 for a half pound of your choice of seafood to a little over $70 for a pound of king crab legs. There are four sauces that you can get at different heat levels. The last of the four is a combination of Cajun, garlic butter, and lemon pepper, and it's called "The Boom" sauce. Sounds familiar, right? I decided to go with what I love. I usually get a half dozen steamed oysters as an appetizer along with a half pound of green mussels in the combo sauce. What I think is unique is that you can also add ramen noodles to your boil bag for an additional charge. In fact, this is the only restaurant of its type in the area that does this. It seriously is the best way to soak up that yummy sauce (besides a side of steamed rice). I wish all the seafood boil restaurants had ramen as an add on. Anyway, all was good with the exception of the sauce. The Boom sauce was extremely salty in the bag. I didn't notice it being that way on the steamed oysters, so I'm not sure why it tasted so salty in the bag. I do want to go back and try the garlic butter next time just to compare the two sauces. I think that was the only issue I had. The mussels were a good size and tasty. The potatoes were a generous size as well. The service was fantastic! Charli made sure I had everything that I needed, and she checked in on me often to make sure I was happy. She was super sweet & helpful, and I hope I get her again next time. There will be more lunch time visits. Especially since they offer ramen noodles.

We were on the way to visit family and stopped here for lunch. Their specialty are boils -- and the presentation is dramatic. Large puffed up with air plastic bags that are filled at the bottom with seafood in a sauce of your choice are presented to the table. You order by weight and the menu is done so they can change the prices to reflect market conditions. We didn't have the patience or time to try one of their seafood boils. And I didn't want to smell like garlic butter or Cajun seasoning. So we tried another portion of their menu -- fried seafood baskets. We wanted a combo of two types of seafood, but that wasn't offered on the menu. So I ordered their fried oysters and he ordered the fried shrimp and we shared. The fried orders come with a choice of one side. I chose their onion rings and he chose "potato" (it's singular on the menu). The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The oysters were a bit small and tasted preprocessed and pre breaded. They were okay. The onion rings were barely okay. On the other hand, the fried shrimp was wonderful -- delicious in a light flour batter. The "potato" was steamed in sauce and served in a small plastic bag of its own. He opted for a combo of the sauces; the boiled potatoes (2 small ones) were drenched in sauce. They also have a separate section of steamed oysters (and scallops) so maybe I'd try that next time we are in the area. The menu has calamari, gumbo, sides, and even salads, along with a couple desserts. Service was good. Every booth was occupied so they are certainly popular.

After moving to Apollo Beach earlier this year, we were happy to find a Crafty Crab in Brandon!!!!! It did not disappoint at all!!!! I'm not going to name our server because then you guys will ask for her and she won't be available! I'm kidding.. Crafty needs to clone Jasmine, our server 2 out of the 3 times we've been. She's friendly, helpful and a ball of energy!!! What more could you ask for with your dining experience?! Ok, let's get to the food! Every time we go, we order the same items: - Lobster Tail special; a good mix of all things seafood! It comes with a lobster tail, half lb of snow crab legs, half lb of headless shrimp and your choice of sausage or eggs- I normally do sausage. I get that sauce mild or medium (spicier) and get the mix of potatoes and corn which is included. My seasoning is garlic butter because it doesn't taste as salty- DELICIOUS! 20000/10 - Fried oyster basket with fries; fried to perfection! Oysters are always sweet and fresh10/10 - Catfish basket with Fries; Now this isn't Mississippi catfish that I'm used to but it's still incredibly tasty! Grab a side of hush puppies (another can't miss item!) 9/10 If you haven't been by, take a chance, ask for Jasmine and have a great seafood experience!

The food here is awesome! I have been 4 times in the past 2 weeks. I relocated from TX to FL two years ago and have been missing and craving real southern style cajun food. Crafty Crab opened just in time for crawfish boiling season. I haven't had the crawfish yet, but their fried catfish, the shrimp and sausage boils are super flavorful and very tasty. Crawfish is next on my menu, probably heading over today. Hits just the right spot for seafood lovers. I have not experienced bad service or long waits others have commented about yet. Just have to have patience here just like any other brand new place. The food is 100% worth the wait times.

Alright, folks, gather 'round as I, a lifelong Valrico local, spin a heartfelt yarn about Willie's…read moreSeafood at 1912 Main Street, the place that's been the heartbeat of my life since I was a kid. Born and raised right here in Valrico, Florida, I was brought to Willie's by my granddad, who called it his favorite spot in town. It's been a constant through every chapter of my life--birthdays, heartbreaks, and everything in between. This five-star review is a love letter to Willie's, a seafood haven that's served up memories as rich as their fried catfish and kept me comin' back for decades. From the time I could barely see over the table, Granddad would lead me through Willie's doors, his calloused hand in mine, promisin' the best meal in town. The place felt like a second home--still does. The cozy, weathered interior, with its wooden walls covered in fishing nets, old photos of Valrico's early days, and mounted fish, wraps you in a warm hug of nostalgia. The jukebox in the corner hums old country tunes, and the checkered tablecloths remind me of Granddad's stories about fishin' in the Gulf. He'd sit me down, order a basket of fried shrimp and hush puppies, and tell me, "this here's real Florida eatin'." That first bite of crispy, golden shrimp, dipped in tangy cocktail sauce, was like tastin' the ocean itself--fresh, simple, and perfect. Willie's menu is a love song to seafood, and I've loved every note since I was a kid. Their fried catfish, a Granddad favorite, is still the gold standard--flaky, moist, with a cornmeal crust so crisp it crunches like autumn leaves. The all-you-can-eat nights--catfish, shrimp, haddock, and clam strips on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays--are a tradition I've kept alive, especially now with my own kids. The gator bites, spicy and tender, are a thrill I discovered as a teenager, sneakin' bites off Granddad's plate. Their blackened mahi-mahi, served with creamy grits, is a nod to Florida's coastal soul, with a spice kick that wakes you right up. Even the sides--coleslaw cool as a summer breeze, hush puppies golden and sweet--feel like they were made with love. And don't get me started on the key lime pie; it's tart, creamy perfection that Granddad always saved room for, claimin' it was "better'n any dessert in Tampa." After he passed, I'd sit at our usual table, order his favorite catfish dinner, and feel him right there with me. Now, I bring my family, watchin' my daughter giggle over her popcorn shrimp, just like I did. The staff, some of whom have been here since I was young, treat you like kin. They'd slip me extra hush puppies as a kid, and now they know my order by heart--fried shrimp, fries, and a sweet tea, just like Granddad's. The place ain't fancy, but that's the charm. It's a family-owned gem, run by folks who've been at it since the '70s, and it shows in every bite. The prices are fair--$15.99 for a catfish filet with sides feels like a steal for the quality. The service is quick, even when the place is packed with locals like me, all drawn by the same comfort and flavor. Sure, some might say it's a bit old-school, but that's what makes it special. It's not tryin' to be a chain or a tourist trap--it's just Willie's, servin' up seafood that tastes like home. I've lived in Valrico my whole life, and Willie's has been there for every milestone--first dates, graduations, even quiet nights when I just needed a taste of the past. It's where I learned to love seafood, where Granddad's stories came alive, and where I still feel him every time I walk in. The food, the warmth, the memories--they're all part of me. Willie's Seafood is a five-star treasure, a place that's fed my body and soul for decades. I'll keep comin' back, bringin' my kids and someday their kids, to keep Granddad's favorite spot alive in our hearts.

Perry's Bbq doesn't serve up pulled pork, baked beans or brisket. Even the sign above the counter says "cajun grill" It's not cajun either. Perry's serves up tasty western Chinese food that does have a bbq flair. My wife and I went to the Brandon Town Center mall to visit the Spectrum store. We were hungry and initially had plans to stop somewhere on the way home. But, the food court was calling our names and mall Chinese food always hits the spot. Perry's was the only place in the food court that had a line, even longer than Chick-Fil-A. We only waited a few minutes though. We both ordered two meat plates. Obviously, they come with your choice of two meats and either fried rice or noodles. First, they throw in 3 heaping spoons of the rice and pack it in. I ordered bourbon chicken and honey chicken. My wife also got the bourbon and then opted for the orange chicken. Both halves of the container are covered in the meat, even covering the rice. The portions are huge and well worth the $8.29. We also ordered two egg rolls and a fountain drink to share. $24 in total. We took a seat in the dining area and dug in. The honey chicken is juicy pieces of lightly fried chicken, covered in a sweet honey glaze. The bourbon chicken, isn't fried and does have a more bbq flavor to it. Slightly smoky chunks of chicken with a savory bourbon sauce. The large portion of fried rice was good as well. Majority of it came home with us. My wife's orange chicken was also pretty good. It was the same juicy chunks of chicken, lightly fried. It had a zesty flavor to it and you taste the citrus. The egg rolls were decent. I love egg rolls. These had a slight crunch on the outside and were filled with flavorful veggies but I didn't see any small bits of pork or anything. They were a good size too. One thing we did learn is that Perry's Bbq is connected to Win Win and our favorite sit-down Chinese restaurant of all time, Liang's Bistro. They are in good company. In the end, my wife and I were stuffed. We enjoyed our meal and had leftovers to take home. It didn't break the bank and was tasty. We don't do mall Chinese food often but Perry's Bbq is always our go-to when we do.
