    Big Smack + bacon

I've heard rave reviews about Thee Burger Spot and decided to try it since I was in the area. I was immediately greeted when I entered and the inside gave me car garage vibes. However I proceeded to order when it was my turn in line. I decided to order the Big Smack add bacon and an order of fries. It took about 10 minutes for my order to be ready and I decided to take it to go. The accoutrements on the burger (bacon, sauce and fried onion) gave it floor because the beef tasted unseasoned. The burger also was lukewarm. Thank goodness the hand cut fries were fresh and hot. BL: it was ok, reasonably priced but it didn't wow me like the reviews hyped it up.

Thee Burger Joint in Tampa was so good and very affordable. Such a great spot if you want quality food without spending a lot. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was delicious; perfectly cooked with BBQ sauce and fried onions that added so much flavor. My parents both got cheeseburgers and absolutely loved them. We also tried the fries and onion rings, and both were really good. Simple, classic, and done right. Overall, a great local burger joint with tasty food, fair prices, and awesome service. We'll definitely be back.

Always slaps. Every single time. Never misses! When I'm in a hurry, I place my order to pick up and they always have it right on time. Taste is always great and customer service is top tier!

I ordered food to pick up; it was ready on time and had a clear, easy pick up process with friendly service at the window. I ordered the mango kush drink, bacon cheeseburger, and fries. The fries were not crispy so that was the only negative for me. However, the fries were perfectly seasoned with a great taste overall so if you prefer soft fries, this will be a positive for you. Their burgers come with American cheese but you can substitute for cheddar, white cheese or pepper jack. My burger was perfectly cooked and had balanced ingredients. My drink was refreshing with a strong mango flavor without being too sweet.

Those onion Things need I say more? This Spot reminded me of those Burger Spots back home in Cali that are in abundance but seemingly forgotten across the rest of the country a small DIY Spot doing it their way with every bite! Of the burgers I went with the Heated One and I will say it was good but definitely not the best spicy burger I've had it left me looking for the heat while that was non existent I will say the rest of the burger was yummy and definitely hit the spot for the day but I wouldn't get it again. The Onion Things now that's where it's at a pile of onions battered and fried and super good like these alone are worth coming here so do yourself a favor and just get them they are soo good! They have a variety of juices the mango one I got was really good just think sweet and unique and that's the best way I can describe it! Overall awesome Spot that I hope to visit again at some point to try a different burger and to get those onion things because that's what really spoke to me here those were just too good!

Best burger spot in Tampa, and rivals Engine No. 9 in St. Pete. The burger here is juicy with great flavoring. I liked the $10.25 Double Cheeseburger better than the $9.25 Tangy. And boy oh boy, was that $5 strawberry shake excellent. There's very little seating inside. Mostly people sit along the wall and wait for their order to be called, then eat outside the restaurant. I was able to snag one of the booths and wait for my food. It took about 15 minutes from the time I ordered until my food was ready. I certainly will be back and want to try their pizza burger in the future. I make burgers a ton at home myself, and I really enjoyed the double cheeseburger. The patties are thick!

Solid. You can taste the quality in this mom and pop, independent long time establishment. Beyond friendly service. The burgers are a good size, so bring your appetite and ask for the right dressings - BBQ sauce, mayo, mustard, etc. They also have a wicked sense of humor. Next time, I'll leave some room for dessert. Plenty of parking up front.

Ok, this place is FUN! It's a true hole in the wall - best French fries in town and the burger travels very well. Picked up lunch for the office (:15 mins away) and the burger was still hot and tasted great! No need to order the fries crispy - they are cooked perfectly every time! The burger Spot is at the top of my list for burgers in Tampa! Plus the guys that run the place are really nice

    Tangy

For a burger joint, fenced windows and limited parking are exactly the kind of gritty charm I like to see. THEM ONION THANGS THO?!?! Oh man. I ordered the Tangy Burger and loaded fries topped with onion thangs. While I was slightly underwhelmed by the burger due to the hype I had heard, it was still very tasty, with an authentic patty flavor and ingredients that meshed very well. The real star of the meal, though, was the loaded fries with onion thangs. Those alone are worth coming for, and adding them to the burger takes the whole experience to another level. Amazing price for what you get and a patient and funny host ready to take your order. Top 5 burgers spot for sure.

No idea what's going on in this shaker cup. Didn't test it. Too scared.

Had a double bacon cheeseburger and fries. Burger was just a bit better than average. Not to die for and not quite great, but better than many. The fries have great potential. Salty and tasty but very soggy. Now, for the real disappointments. They were out of their famous onion thangs by 6:10 PM on a Saturday evening. On one hand, that may be a good thing and say how great they are. On the other hand, it could be poor management of stock. Didn't get to try them and I was very much looking forward to them (a friend specifically recommended them to me). I have no idea what the cup on the table had in it. No label on it. All kinds of built-up stuff on the lid. No idea, but it was scary. They also had a gigantic fan blowing on the entire seating area. It was clearly ready for Halloween with the amount of dust on it. Truly disgusting. The entire place just didn't feel clean. I liked all the jokes inside, but aside from that, not a place I'll ever feel comfortable sitting in for dinner. I also attempted to track down their menu earlier in the day before making the trip there. No luck. For starters, their website was down. So, I reached out to them. They recommended I check third-party sites (sites I don't use). I asked for a photo of it but even after seeing my message, they didn't reply. I can't believe they don't simply have a photo of it. That was a bit disappointing.

Yet another place I've probably driven past 100 times and didn't know it was there. A friend of mine took me here on a Saturday after raving about how great it was. It was pretty busy when we arrive with a line of folks from the door to the register. We proceeded to order our three burgers and three orders of fries, took our ticket #59 and then proceeded to wait. When they called #58 the excitement was peaked as we were next. Then they called 60 then 61 and 62. We knew at this point that something was wrong. Turns out our order had not actually printed out back and thus was never received by the cook. They started to make it right away. So after about 15 mins of waiting it was time to wait another several mins. As for the food, it was ok. It certainly wasn't the best burger I've had (not by a long shot) but it wasn't the worst either. It was actually very well done and not really moist or juicy. The fries were your typical frozen crinkle cut fries. It was worth checking this place out but I'm not sure it's a place I'd come back to.

    Juicy burger!

Would love to try this place. Is there a reason you don't open for dinner? We generally don't eat burgers at lunch.

    Do they offer lettuce buns?

No, sorry our lettuce is shredded. We can give you a hamburger on lettuce if that’s what you prefer.

    Do they have GF buns?

Hello, thank you for the email. At this time we do not have Gluten Free buns.

It's a great spot and usually while in Downtown Tampa we walk over, it's across the street from Curtis Hixon Park and few museums. As stated, we normally go during lunch and always pretty dead. Sometimes it feels like a downtown burger secret - sooo if it is I never said a thing. It's offers a full bar, happy hour I'm sure, and I hear it's a popular spot for watching sports. Menu favorites include the "Pirate's Pick" burger, smash burgers, sweet potato fries, onion rings, and sooo much more. Staff is really attentive, always filling drinks and getting anything you need. I will admit the kitchen can be a bit slow, but the staff makes up for it. So if ever at Riverwalk, take a stroll for a great burger and fries and iced cold beer.

We went, hoping to have a great burger and support a local business. They don't serve alcohol, and they only offer one flavor of milkshake (Nutella on the day we visited). You order at the counter if eating out, or the server will take your order from your table if you are dining in. There are only a few seats in the whole place, and the largest table is for 6. I ordered a nacho burger. My daughter ordered a side of fries and the quail eggs. My son ordered the COVID-19 burger. My husband ordered a classic cheeseburger with a side of fries. The food took a reasonable amount of time to come out. The server was running the cash register, taking orders, and delivering food, so the food came out one plate at a time in between his other work. My daughter's quail eggs were overboiled and served cold. She ate them all, but they were pretty blah. The fries were good. We only received one order, rather than the two. Not sure where the miscommunication was in the kitchen, the server was surprised and confused when we pointed it out when the check came. My burger was excellent. It was salty and crunchy and cooked to a medium as requested. My only complaint was that the bun was served cold. If you can't grill or toast it, at least steam it so it isn't cold? My main complaint is the price is closer to a real restaurant price, but the restaurant setting is more like a fast food place. I'm not sure that sitting in very uncomfortable seats while ordering from a folding paper menu justifies prices double that of Shake Shack or BurgerFi. The burgers were good, but I'd also like the ability to drink a beer with my burger, which I can do at Shake Shack or BurgerFi.

We sampled the local Reef Donkey brew, which definitely lived up to the hype--smooth, flavorful, and well balanced. A great choice if you're new to their beer lineup. We started with the hot pretzel served with queso and mustard. It came out warm, soft, and perfectly salted--ideal for sharing and easily one of the highlights of the visit. The pizza was generously topped and very cheesy, which we appreciated, though the quality of the sausage could use some improvement to better match the rest of the ingredients. We also tried the hot chicken tenders with hot honey drizzle. Flavor-wise, they were decent, but the portion size felt closer to boneless wings than tenders. The fries were hot and crispy, but overall the chicken itself could benefit from a crispier exterior. Worth noting for future guests: the Red Eye cider buffalo sauce comes with a $1 upcharge. Overall, this is a fun spot with a strong beer program and solid starters. Hoping to return in about six months to see improvements and refinements to the food offerings, as the potential here is definitely there.
