Needed to expand my dining locations and found Mamas Kitchen online and had to try it out to see if the hype was merited. Wait wasn't long on a weekend brunch time. Parking was relatively easy. A few benches outside and a busy dining room. Waiter and service was pleasant and friendly. There's some specials on the board and can sum up as home style cooking but wasn't my favorite. Typical breakfast sausage and eggs was okay but needed seasoning. Same goes for the burger and fries. Prices are definitely affordable. Place was lovely and cozy (meaning small) with probably lots of regulars. I can see people returning but I wouldn't say I'd be running here any time soon. Sorry, no pics ... that tells you something. Omg! This burger is so delicious I can't even explain the freshness of this! Hands down one of the best burgers I've had in a while! The lettuce, tomatoes , pickles and onion just explodes with goodness! I have now made this my go to for what I call an old fashioned cheeseburger made with love. I ran into a few links commenting about a cute little breakfast spot that had incredibly reasonable prices. Things have changed a bit... Prices are OK -- they're not crazy exceptional like they used to be. When entering you are greeted to a cute little restaurant with probably the friendliest staff I've ever met in my entire life. It felt like walking into a small town and being greeted by friends and family. It was the kind of friendly that feels natural -- not a sales pitch. Definitely recommend the atmosphere. Sadly, I just don't think the food was that good. I ordered a special that included pancakes, eggs, ham. You can't really mess up eggs... They were fine. The ham was a pretty large chunk of ham and was pretty tasty. The problem... The pancakes were just "meh". They were cooked perfectly, but the batter was just two "floury" (not sure if that is a word). And I think that's going to become the theme for all of their baked goods. My wife got the biscuits and gravy. I was pretty excited about trying the biscuit because they sell individually for four dollars. Four dollars for a biscuit! I was expecting something exceptional. It wasn't. To be fair... The biscuit was actually pretty bad. It just tasted like a pile of flour. It had no real flavor. With the biscuit and gravy combo they poured way too much gravy on top of it, and it just looked like a pile of soup. Not very appetizing at all. I saw another gentleman who ordered the same and his plate had half the gravy. At least it looked better on the plate. The bad news about the gravy... It wasn't that good either. Super floury and it didn't really have very much sausage in there. Flour biscuit with flour soup on top of it... Not great. So, not sure if it was just a bad day in the kitchen where they spilled too much flour into all the mix... But, the food definitely gets a negative review. Cute little restaurant and super positive attitude of the staff gets a positive review. Thus, a mixed review... 3 out of 5. read more

Do drop in. This was my first time here so I can only comment on one dish, the steak hoagie. It was delicious. The bread was as fresh as if it had just been baked- crusty on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The steak was excellent quality- lean not fatty or gristly and nicely seasoned. The bell peppers & onions were perfectly cooked, not mushy. I asked for "light on the mushrooms" and got it. The cheese was good quality and melted smoothly into the sandwich. Food and service are excellent. The host AKA "Coach" has a great personality and interacts with the customers like their old friends. The home fries and sausage links were really good. My wife said the home fries were some of the best she has had, just the right amount of crisp. Went twice on this short visit and will be back in the future. I ordered my breakfast platter on the phone and picked my meal up in person. They have a small parking area to accommodate their small but quaint restaurant. When I arrived, the place was packed but my food was ready. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese, grits and toast. My entire meal was very delicious. I messed up the food by not holding the bag correctly on my way home so I couldn't take that aesthetically looking food photo, LOL The staff seemed friendly despite being busy and hustling and bustling. Staff greeted everyone & women with a Happy Mother's Day. Breakfast served all day. The owner George is really nice and engaging. It's a family run business. The staff took your order right away and food came out quick and hot. The food is very affordable and nice portions. Ordered the breakfast fish platter with a side of grits and a waffle shared by 2. It was filling and delicious. Food taste like my mom was in the kitchen cooking. I asked to take a pic with the owner after having a great conversation about NY and the sixers basketball team. So I really wanted to like this place Walked in greeted very kindly, had an order for pick up. Place was slammed and food looked good on plates passing by. For 24$ it's better than McDonald's.... But Ordered the corn beef hash, that was a mistake definitely canned and very hard to eat. Potatoes are different than the hashbrowns and just no flavor, quite the mistake made by me. The mamas sampler was great, can't beat the price and reasoning for my 3 stars vs 2. Would I come here again? Probably not, but truly wanted to enjoy it as many others have.
