I had an order of avocado toast and a dragon fruit bowl door dashed to my place of business. I'm less than a minute walk from the restaurant and it was delivered in about 20 minutes which was fine as I was too busy to leave to pick it up myself. There was no roast beef on my toast, for which I paid extra. I called and explained that I'd like it remade. The attitude was very flippant and they made it very clear it would not be re delivered and I'd have to come pick it up. Fine, no problem. I went to get the new order and after eating about a third of it I pulled the roast beef off to eat it off the toast. There were three pieces of what looked like burnt cheese bits, like grill debris neatly placed on top of the avocado and under the roast beef. As far as I could tell there was nothing on my toast that had to be grilled. So an employee thought it was a good idea to contaminate my food they had made incorrectly in the first place? Super disgusting and pretty sure is illegal. This is something I'd expect from a teenager from a fast food place not from a place I just spent almost 30.00 for some fruit and a piece of toast. The bowl wasn't blended properly and there were chucks of ice and rubbery (fruit?). I threw it all away. I did mention the poorly made bowl while I was picking up the second toast and she half heartily offered to make it again. I declined and glad I did. Who knows what would have been blended into the second one....The girls seemed to not really care. No apologies, no smiles, no customer service just lots of attitude. I had never had a problem the dozen or so times I've eaten there before. Super disgusting. Never going back, which I'm sure will be met with a ginormous eye roll from the employees who were working. read more

I went in and was the only customer; I saw about three employees. I smiled & said a pleasant "hello," but the cashier just kind of stared at me and she wandered off. I then said "hello" louder assuming she didn't hear me and walked up to the counter with my order. It was a pretty robotic and I got weird vibes. I ordered the Yolo Bowl and green juice. The preparation was fairly long for me being the only one in there. They called my order quietly and didn't say my name, so if I weren't paying attention, it probably would've been sitting there awhile. I said "thank you," as I walked out, and again, no acknowledgement. I don't expect a welcoming committee, but the apathy caught me off guard, especially since I was very polite and didn't skimp on the tip. I asked for the bowl to be vegan, and when I got home and opened the box, it had hard-boiled egg, also, there was no dressing, or either so little I couldn't taste it. The green juice tasted like spinach water... I do appreciate the recyclable to go materials. I'm also pretty sure my order had gluten, to be fair, I did not ask, but this would be a nice addition to disclose on the in-person menus (unless I missed that). The green juice + Yolo Bowl with tax / tip came out to $22 and change. For this kind of service and disappointing meal, I wouldn't go back nor recommend. In fact, it'd be pretty simple, more fresh, and way less costly if you find time to make something like this at home. It makes me sad because I like to support local businesses, and I feel like Davis' are dwindling. read more

A really cute place, I've come here twice now to get the smoothie bowls. While they are a little pricy compared to other items, you get a lot of smoothie mix in the bowl. The toppings look fresh and taste delicious. A very nice girl took my order. Only complaint is that one of my bowls wasn't completely blended as I had a couple chunks of ice and strawberry. read more

I've only been here once and have yet to try their smoothies, so I will be back. Although, I can't justify paying over $7 for a smoothie when there a cheaper options in Davis. My friend and I ordered the roasted tomato sammie and frittata plate, both came with a small side salad. We both cleaned our plates, the food was good but nothing too spectacular. Our dishes totaled around $8.50 each. I definitely want to try their acai bowl and a smoothie! There's ample seating inside and a little play area for children. Street parking may be difficult depending on the day and time. I'm conflicted about this place though - their food and drinks seem fresh and the staff are friendly. But their prices are a bit steep for me. 4 stars for decent food, -1 for price point. Will update my review next time I stop by. read more

Gecko Power (Kale + Spinach + Apple Juice + Mango): Smoothie is pricey and was nothing special, uneven texture and very much something you could easily make at home. Doesn't taste bad though, it's okay. The interior is pleasant and has a lot of room with natural lighting and plants so it seems like a good place to come in and study (when there aren't any kids). I can see the appeal but I think it is too expensive for me. read more

Lovely, brightly lit space with ample seating, kid friendly play are, and a view of the train as it goes by. Percent place to perch with a book and a healthy snack. A fun environment to tear yourself to a healthy snack. Though a little pricey, I felt good ordering their organic Strawberry shortcake smoothie and putting something healthy in my system. I'm playing definitely be back for lunch! Plus, I love that they stay open for 2nd Friday art about. A fantastic find in Davis. read more

I was super excited to try this place and one morning my roommates and I walked here after going to the farmers market. There was an incredibly dense vinaigrette smell dominating the store, and it was incredibly repelling! The source of the smell was a huge pot out in the middle of the counter and someone was stirring it. I'm assuming it was for making Kombucha? Though I love Kombucha, that smell still haunts me! We made our order to go and waited outside to avoid the smell as much as possible! I had the Matcha Latte. The Matcha wasn't whisked well and there were massive clumps at the bottom. For a small cup, it was $5. I love the idea behind making nutritious and healthy smoothies and açaí bowls, but the ladies here aren't conducting it properly! read more

A nice addition to the Davis dining scene with room to grow. My ploughman's lunch, a build-your-own lunch set which comes with mixed greens, your choice of bread (I picked half-wheat biscuits) and three side-dishes (my picks: deviled eggs, smoked jack, and roasted bell peppers with winter squash). The menu said the meal also came with house-made pickles but I didn't receive any (and only remembered long after I finished eating). My plate was underwhelming for $11, in size, presentation, and flavor. For such a simple meal, every element needs to shine. The winter squash was steamed, and really would have benefitted from being roasted like the peppers. The curry-ish dressing on the greens was pleasant enough, though a tad salty. The deviled eggs could have used some paprika, pickle, or something to perk them up. The hunk of cheese was tasty, but it was just a hunk of cheese. Biscuits were simple but nice. In sum, there's room for improvement and I hope they continue to refine their recipes and offerings. Nice open space with plenty of natural light (though strange odor that first put-off my friend and I...we almost went elsewhere) and friendly service. Semi-self serve. Order at the counter, grab utensils and napkins, and seat yourself. Customers bus their dishes, but since we finished near closing the staff member kindly cleared our table. Not in a rush to return, but I'll gladly give them another try once they've established themselves a bit more. read more

Great food on the healthy side, although ask questions if you would like to avoid sugar or oil. Staff is good at helping navigate menu. Ive been ordering a fav peanut butter based smoothie for years and just found out they use a major label peanut butter brand that includes added sugar and added oil. Hoping that they will consider switching to one of the many brands that do not add processed sugar or oil to their nut butters. I have ordered here a few times now and always have an overall positive experience. My favorite thing here is the avocado and hummus toast. They just really have their avocado toast recipe right, the toast is always crunchy and avocado spread is well seasoned & topped with fresh micro greens! The hummus toast is savory with roasted bell pepper toppings. I also like their hard boiled and deviled eggs, although simple the eggs always taste fresh and are perfectly cooked. I have tried their iced coffee and didn't particularly care for it. The iced coffee itself was much too sweet for my liking. I like my coffee to actually taste like coffee. (my first Yelp review) I hadn't been to 3 Ladies in a while but decided to give it another try. Unfortunately the same problems remain. Service is poor, food is unceremoniously thrown on a paper plate and plastic spoons, forks and knives are still the only utensils available. Tables we're all dirty - I had to ask for a rag to clean one. Customers are now asked to walk back outside (in the rain) to enter the dining area which was odd. The soup was cold, I sent it back and it was returned reaheated, but with a hair in it. I had to wait 15 minutes to get a new bowl and found another hair. They did refund the price of the soup. There were signs asking customers to bus their own tables but nowhere to put used dishes or trash. I know that dining out is extremely expensive everywhere but we paid $52 for 2 sandwiches, 2 cups of soup and 2 coffee drinks, which felt outrageous given the service, presentation and quality of the food. I'm astonished that it's still open. read more

I absolutely adore this place. Their chickpea avocado sandwich is to die for! I also really liked their tofu curry over rice dish. Their turmeric smoothie was excellent as well! The only reason I am giving it four stars instead of 5 is because the portion sizes are a little smaller than you would expect. I just had to write a review for this lovely restaurant, I am so grateful to have Three Ladies here in Davis. Three Ladies is a small business that serves fresh, wholesome, healthy, plant-based meals and caters to meat eaters and vegans alike. Its a breath of fresh air to experience the clean interior, the locally-sourced ingredients/goods and the personal service. It doesn't feel like a run of the mill kind of place where everyone is kind of disengaged from their job. You very much get the small business attention and consideration, which is pretty cool. Its always a plus to remember/acknowledge that we are all humans on this crazy ride of life;) Now, onto the actual food! I've been vegetarian for a few years now and I have watched many a youtube video about "clean" eating and clean veggie/vegan recipes. Though I love my pungent cuisines like Thai and Indian food, sometimes I just need something easy on the tummy like a simple veggie and brown rice mix. Thats what I LOVE about Three Ladies. What they have that absolutely stands out are there CLEAN choices. Not only is it just one or two options, but damn near their whole menu is wholesome. I dont have to worry about what they might be putting in their food, I don't feel guilty about not cooking/eating out because the proof is in the pudding! You can taste the health, the fresh thats coming in :) My go-to is the yolo bowl which comes with a tofu mix, fresh cabbage and brown rice. Its good! Not to mention, their prices are not too shabby. Though the lattes do resemble Starbucks prices and the smoothie prices are comparable to the other juicery in Davis (I typically skip on both of these), for a cool $9 I can get a nutritious bowl that has my macros for protein and carbs and at-least one serving of veggies in it. The food isn't a lot in quantity but when considering the fact that its a small business, the decreased pollution from the locally sourced ingredients, and the health benefits, I find that the value in the price is apparent. I know that their times can vary sometimes, but thats okay with me. I just give them a call beforehand to make sure they are open. It doesn't change the fact that I am SO sad when they're closed but I am comforted by their very existence! read more

It's great to be able to get fresh healthy handmade food at a good price! There is plenty of seating, air conditioned inside and open air outdoors. I got a YOLO bowl which is one of their notated popular items. It was a perfect amount of food, but I felt it could use some more flavor somewhere! I ordered it For Here but was served on a paper plate?...I noticed mostly everyone ordered a smoothie or juice so those must be popular! Bit of a mixed bag. I'd heard so much about this place. Food was nice, nothing special, and small portion size was just right. However the cafe seemed a mess with a table in front of register at hip level strewn with menus and flyers . When I tried to locate the card reader the cashier was extremely impatient with me. Obviously didn't sit at the front at charm school! She dismissively waved a hand towards the water station as if I should have known where it was. Plus out of rice. Reading all these low reviews are quite halarious to me. I'm from the Bay Area but in town for UC Davis conference I stopped her to get lunch and it very affordable. I'm so used to paying $15-20 a meal and it was only $10 for tofu scramble and tea. They were quick. I've definitely waited 20mins for a meal or a smoothie before. I believe quality takes time and I'm happy to wait. I'm not one for tons of flavor and love my food more simple so I loved my meal. The employees are very alert to people walking in and asking if they had any questions. They even have local made teas, face mask, soaps, lip balm, cups, spa sets, bath bombs and more I walked out with a happy stomach and some lavender scented hand cream! Smells so good! Immediately walking in , the cashier did not greet me while I lingered at the counter after a few minutes ( major pet peeve). The avocado toast is such a small portion for the price , $5 for the smallest slice of bread. For reference it's the same size and thickness as Dave's Killer bread thin sliced bread.
