    Huevos rancheros with bacon add-on
    Tori B.

Well, I had a sense that I had been there before. And, in fact, I did and I left a review. And as it turns out, I ordered the very same thing. And you know what? I have the very same comments. Definitely not traditional huevos rancheros, but still quite good. I did order the bacon add-on, which, for some reason was integrated into the huevos rancheros in pieces, as opposed to being on the side. That may just have been my misunderstanding. Still good. Vibe is the same. Service is superb. Wow! Our waitress was absolutely lovely. On street parking, early in the morning. It's super easy. Downtown Woodland is a fun place to walk around. This is one of the few places that has a really solid full service breakfast in town. Next time I will be more creative and try something new! We will definitely return!

Saturday breakfast with my husband. Wonderful little place. Service was fantastic, food was excellent. I got the special, grilled asparagus Benedict with breakfast potatoes. Husband got biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. He had a mocha and I had a Carmel macchiato. We sat by the open window and enjoyed breakfast with the morning sun.

On way to airport when we got notified our flight was delayed so we decided to stop for breakfast. Yelped And this lil place popped up! The ambiance was great... our food was amazing and just looked and tasted super fresh.i had the French toast A plus and my husband had the Huevos Rancheros A plus! Ps the poached eggs were perfection! Oh and our server Dehlia was great and her recommendations on point! Can't wait to come back.

Savory breakfast with eggs over medium, house-made chorizo, country potatoes, an English muffin with Manas strawberry jam.

Delicious house fresh brewed Monster Italian coffee with free refills. The Savory breakfast is served with Pasture 42 Ranch eggs with yolks that are bright orange which indicates free range chickens. The house made chorizo was crispy and crumbly, not sure I like the way it's served on my plate. I ordered the English muffin that comes with the Manas Ranch Jam. The jam flavor today was strawberry but they also sell jars of the peach & cinnamon, mango apple, and just peach. Delilah was an excellent server. Very friendly and efficient. She refilled my coffee and brought a bowl of water for my dog. This cafe was recommended to me by a local as a favorite place for breakfast and lunch. Definitely recommended and will return for their soup that is leek and potato today.

    Eggs Benedict with fruit

Walked in and the place has a nice rustic feel to it with an open room feel. I was sat a very long table where another group was at the other end. And quickly brought a water to me without asking, I liked that. Service was good but for only being maybe 10 people eating they didn't attend to me much but I was also on my laptop working so that may be the reason. The eggs Benedict showed up and were very good. I don't know if it was the spinach they used or the hollandaise sauce but it was good. I subbed for fruit instead of potatoes and I loved that it had pomegranate in the mix, but needed to ask for a napkin to spit my seeds into. Which is when I felt it took a bit for them to pass by for me to ask for a paper napkin. They left a jar so I can freely refill my tea and I really liked that.

The smoked salmon had a deep red color which tinted the egg muffin. Aside from the appearance, it tasted very salty by itself. The benedict was decent overall but the saltiness was too overwhelming and it did not strike a good balance with the meal. The panini was average and didn't have much taste to it. It could have been improved with something like a pesto. Unfortunately, the only thing I was impressed by was the coffee and fruits.

We went yesterday the service was good. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 is because the service is inconsistent over the several times I have been there. The food was awesome yesterday! My husband had the chicken fried steak and it tasted great! I had the chicken and waffles and it was amazing! The apple added a crunch and the chipotle sauce made it so savory. The chicken was cooked perfect! It's a chill laidback ambiance. We will be pack.

This time, three of us ordered burgers, and they were some of the driest, most flavorless burgers I've ever had. Burger Saloon, I'll never betray you again. The experience itself felt unreal. We found out our waitress was on her 4th day working and she literally quit after taking our order. You truly can't make this stuff up. Another server had to come retake our order, and even then things still came out wrong. I asked for no cheese because I'm lactose intolerant, but my burger came with cheese anyway. Out of 7 drinks ordered, 3 were forgotten. One drink specifically requested no sugar on the rim and came out with sugar. I did feel bad for the replacement server. He looked incredibly nervous and was visibly shaking. Despite all the mishaps, we still left him a good tip because it honestly seemed like the whole place was struggling that night.

I recently enjoyed my first (and definitely not my last) dining experience at the HIVE tasting room and kitchen in Woodland, CA. I enjoyed it; the food was delicious and customer service on point. I went there with the intent of mead wine tasting but ended up not since I had driving duties. [Fun fact: mead wine has less alcohol content than grape wine.] Instead I ordered lunch and washed it down with their honey ice tea. The iced tea had a prominent honey taste. Hubs luved his, but my tastebuds were confused. Odd though because I luv honey and iced tea. We also ordered a Ruben sandwich $22 and an order of waffles. The sandwich was classic with the familiar flavors. Nice quality cut of meat, thinly shaved. The waffles $17 were topped with blueberries, slivered almonds, and orange blossom whipped ricotta cream which I asked for on the side. The ricotta cream was divine. The waffles tasted pretty darn good. However the pricing for both entrees seemed high for the serving size. But this is a type of place where folks can eat and linger to enjoy the grounds, atmosphere, and each other's company without anyone rushing you out. We enjoyed our meal out in the back outdoor patio. The landscaping is all organic with lots of pollinating and drought resistant plants and trees. The building is a zero energy building with an onsite brewing facility. The interior has a brand newish look and feel. There is a honey tasting and mead wine tasting counter, gift shop, and dining area. All of this is in an open floor plan. The indoor seating capacity is limited. The place can be rented out for events (such as a garden wedding), private facility tours. Plus they host community events. Take a peek at their website. Some events are free. Events range from tours, book readings, yoga classes, flower bouquet class, gardening... etc.

The parking lot on a mild Friday evening was also nearly empty, which is why, after the experience I had, I'm hoping this 5 star review catches someone's eye to drum up a little more business for this humble eatery. Judy's has been around since before I was born. When I was a kid I remember visiting a few times with my dad to get burgers and shakes (I seem to recall waiting for food on an old car seat? Maybe other people remember that). About 12 years ago, I worked in the office building just behind it, and would visit for lunch at least once a week--I remember the BLT being very good. This place has always been a dive, as far back as my memory goes. So don't expect a clinically clean interior. Everything is showing its age, including the massive menu covering the gamut: teriyaki, cheesesteaks, gyros, and of course the greasy spoon mainstays of burgers and hot dogs. After I got a new job, I didn't have much occasion to visit Judy's. They also don't exactly serve up the kind food you want to be eating every day. But I happened to find myself on the west side of town and was craving fish and chips, and could only think of one place to visit. I ordered online through their website, which was very easy, and they offer lots of options for customization. I really appreciated they had a 1-piece fish and chips, because, as I suspected, the portions are really large. I arrived about 5 min before my estimated pick-up time, and after a short wait the woman running the whole show came out and my food was already ready. She was so sweet, that on impulse I decided to get a shake as well. I wonder if the business changed management since I used to frequent a lot, because I don't remember this woman at all, but she was very kind. I discovered just how kind once I got home: not only did I have a generous portion of crispy fish and chips, but a bonus fried zucchini and what I think was a sweet potato plank. They really didn't have to do that, but I so appreciated it. Word to the wise: they leave you to salt your food, so if you are taking to go and don't have access to a salt shaker, perhaps borrow one from a vacant table to shake in your bag before you leave. As previously mentioned, the fish--which had something like a beer batter or tempura batter--was crunchy and delicious. The filet itself wasn't super thick, but the fish has a mild taste and was cooked perfectly. The fried veggies were also super good, and I LOVED their tartar sauce: so herbaceous. The fries are exactly the kind I like in this application: English style thick-cut chips. Predictably, the milkshake was also delicious (peanut butter and chocolate, so how could it not be?) So Judy's isn't much to look at from the outside, but it has real heart. Even though it isn't my style of food and is a bit out of the way for me, I want to continue supporting this business. They deserve it, and you deserve some delicious fish and chips.
