My mouth is watering as I write this review, remembering the melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness I experienced here. I got a double bbq bacon burger but could've gone with a single as they're hearty. As a side I got sweet potato fries which are enough for 2 people to share. The soda fountain is a variety of natural sodas, which I ended up liking more than I thought. Finally they had cookies my buddy's kids loved. My buddy had a steak sandwich which he said tasted like a Philly but he wished he would've gotten a burger as both his kids liked their cheeseburgers. To sum it up it was a greasy mess, but one of the best burgers I've ever had. I'll be sure to come back next time I'm in the area. This was my first time at this location - the food is just as great as any other Melt restaurant. There was plenty of seating inside & some outdoor patio seating as well. The music/people made it a bit loud inside so I sat outside, which was perfect. You can order from an employee or at a kiosk. The staff was nice & the wait wasn't too long for peak lunch time. Both the Melt Burger & the crispy chicken sandwich were amazing - came out hot too. The best thing to top off the meal was the garlic Parmesan fries. Reading the menu I was beyond excited to try this place... the burgers and the fries both sounded amazing! I ordered the melt burger and was expecting a tiny punch... something to show there was a jalapeño sauce in there somewhere but nothing. I had one small diced jalapeño piece in the whole thing. The burger meet was ok. I added avocado and that was fresh and delicious, with enough to cover the whole burger. The ranch cheddar bacon fries were ok, but honestly bland?! I couldn't believe it... they looked like they'd be packed full of flavor and it was just bland. I will go back and get again but I wasn't left desiring more. read more

Melt is back in Davis and this spot looks very modern. I like the kiosks for ordering and the signage/decor. Spicy chicken sandwich: B- Chicken is huge, plus very crispy. Spice level is mild-medium, mostly coming from the jalapenos and sauce. Would have liked spicy seasoning added to the chicken directly. I like potato buns but this Bun was a bit too soft, would have liked it toasted. The sandwich is really moist so it is a mess to eat. Fries: A Superb fries, I think these are perfect. The Melt is a great choice for a burger or grilled cheese sandwich in Davis. The restaurant is beautiful and it is very easy to order your food there as they have either a kiosk you can select food from or the traditional counter. My biggest advice when it comes to the Melt is to eat the food there and DINE IN! I say this because if you go for their burger or grilled cheese, the absolute best version of it will be when it comes out to you. My first Melt experience was a to-go order. When I brought it home the cheese had solidified again and the burger lost all its magic. When the burger is fresh, it is incredible! I loved it so much! So just make sure you DINE IN! The burgers are great and full of flavor. I really enjoyed the unique relish/pickle stuff that they put in the cheese. It's a great flavor addition to the burger. The grilled cheeses were amazing as well. I got a chance to take a bite of my friend's sandwich and it was heavenly. If you get it with jalapenos just be careful as they are spicy! The mac and cheese is good and very well portioned, but I found it to be less enjoyable than other places. It has a very hearty taste and can fill you up quickly. A quick pit stop on the way back from Tahoe. We ordered online for pickup and it was ready in 7 minutes, no joke. If you've never been to a Melt, the menu ranges from chicken sandwiches, to grilled cheeses and smashburgers. I think most items involve melty cheese... hence the name. Kids cheeseburger was solid. The mission chicken sandwich was delicious. I wish I had the option for lite sauce online, but it was saucy and spicy. The fries are solid. Not my favorite and they're spiced so my kids of course had some feedback. Overall, fresh, reasonably priced and quick. This location was big and bright. The bathrooms were clean. The strip mall has so many great businesses from Calicraft Brewing, to a dumpling spot, Urban plates, Trader Joe's and more; making it a popular area and parking more challenging. read more

The food was amazing. I tried The Melt burger and the double cheeseburger two separate times and this hit the spot after a long day. The milkshakes were also delicious but once it melts it starts to feel a little too sweet which is a given. The Garlic fries, however, are SO GARLICY AND SO DELICOUS. It makes my mouth water thinking about it. If you are coming with another person get a milkshake and garlic friends to share and burger each. It is the perfect portion size. It is also a great studying place because of how big the seating area is. There is also wifi in there so it makes it even better for staying here a little longer. The ordering process is easy, either on the counter or using the big screens by the entrance. We went with spicy chicken sandos and garlic fries, which both came out quickly: but no so quickly for one to think they are pre-made. Chicken sandwich was decent and the fries were above average. The sando could be a little spicier, but the amount of chicken made up for it. All the condiments are available by the drink fountain, which adds to the efficiency and speeds up the service. The staff was friendly and The Melt is worthy of their reputation of one of the best fast-casual burger places in the Bay Area, now available outside of the Bay. Had a bite of the BBQ Bacon and the BBQ flavor wasn't for me. Tried both the regular French Fries and the Garlic Parmesan Fries. Stuck with the regular -- the garlic version was messy and the flavor didn't really earn the trouble. The hot chocolate chip cookie dessert was a nice finish. One thing worth noting for traditionalists: they don't offer a plain regular burger. That was a miss for someone in my group who just wanted something simple. I got to try the crispy chicken burger and the portion of the chicken was considerable. The meat itself was juicy and I was able to add some veggies on it which added to the overall burger. The mac and cheese was creamy and cheesy, so a solid choice for those not wanting a burger/melt. They also had free samples of the chocolate chip cookie and brownie and both were gooey and soft. The store was spacious and had a good amount of tables inside and outside so it's a good place to eat with your family. I definitely want to return to try their beef burgers! read more

The food here is really good. We got the grilled cheese with egg, shroom burger, bacon ranch fries and some kid items. I love how you can customize your burgers. You can add things like avocado and egg, etc. Really makes the burger way better. The grilled cheese with egg was good. I think just the idea itself is pretty creative and it worked well for me. First time won't be our last!! Husband wife lunch date and she found this spot.... Clean, neat, delicious and staff is friendly! Kenzie was amazing explaining the specialties and promoting the menu! She is a great ambassador for the brand! Smile on her face the entire time. To be able to order with a person instead of a kiosk is always a HUGE plus!!! We visited at lunchtime and the restaurant was clean and inviting. Food was excellent, prompt and hot off the grill. Food (9/10) - Hits the spot when you're looking for a simple, delicious burger and fries. The burger is well-cooked and juicy. I wouldn't recommend the garlic fries though since the added cost doesn't add much flavor. You can't really tell that the garlic is there. However, I absolutely LOVEE their bacon cheese fries. It has a super nice balance of bites and for 6 dollars, it is a pretty nice portion. It is perhaps a bit too fatty at times but honestly, that's kind of the price you pay for eating bacon cheese fries. There's not much more I can describe but just know that their burgers and fries hit when you're craving it. Service (9/10) - They make your food quickly and efficiently, even when it's late at night. I feel very bad for the workers when I show up late at night but I appreciate them for what they do!! Providing food for hungry college students in the night.
