Bar tender was super nice, made our fave drinks and meal was awesome. All the staff were super friendly food was really good, or well we got an appetizer to fill us up, and was super good. The setting of the pub was very cool, a library with leather seats , oo so fancy.. No it really is cool, if your in the area, please stop on in and have a drink or two, maybe some yummy food too?! Totally worth it!

Came in at 12 on a Sunday and there were very little people, so service was quick. Ambiance is very comfortable and the hosts are great. Had the steak and avocado salad which came in about ten minutes. The regular sized salad is super big and very flavorful, so much that it doesn't need the dressing and cheese. Every component except the veggies and nuts were seasoned and the steak was perfectly cooked medium rare. It was a bit tough especially because it's not fully cut through when served, but there are tender parts. The bleu cheese is only funky on its own and pairs great with the pickled onions. The portion of steak is not bad and I think the fried/pickled onion, half avocado, and walnuts were given generously. Very satisfied overall and highly recommend!

I really enjoyed this spot. My family went to try something new and I'm happy we did. I couldn't complain at all about the meal for any of us. The ambience was really lovely, I got the English pub vibe. The service was really nice and I really wanted to try the library section of the restaurant the next time I stop in. It was filled with books and seamed like a nice place to eat a small lunch, have a cocktail and relax.

I stopped into this place while waiting to go to a Yelp event. We wanted a drink and this place looked inviting. It's a nice size and has a dinning are to sit but we went straight to the bar. There were a few people inside and at the bar too. The bartender greeted us and gave us a drink menu. He had to bring some food to outer patrons. It looked like he was waiting on the tables at the dinning room too. My friend got a beer and I got a Scotch neat. I enjoyed the bar. It really was nice. If in the area again I will come back.

My family and I mistakenly drove out to Davis while trying to go to West Sacramento - if you know you know - so we decided to have dinner while in the area. Bull 'N Mouth seemed interesting and had decent ratings on Yelp. I liked the cozy feel inside and they even had a really cool area that they labeled "Library" where they encourage you to be loud. It had a comfy couch, TVs and even a book wall. We ordered the Elote Chicken Salad, Grilled Cheese Burger with Garlic Fries and the Kids Grilled Cheese with Fruit. The Elote Chicken Salad was okay - they originally brought me the Cobb Salad by mistake and it actually looked better than the salad I ordered. My daughter loved her Grilled Cheese and she liked that the fruit was thin apple slices and dried cranberries. My husband liked his burger as well. We came on trivia night without knowing so the place was pretty busy, but our server was friendly and attentive. She was actually the one who noticed that my salad was wrong before me - I was so hungry, I didn't even notice! Overall, I really liked the vibe of Bull 'N Mouth. My family and I will definitely come back and check them out again next time we are in the area. Check them out!

From the moment we arrived, it was a great experience all around. Parking was surprisingly easy in the late evening with plenty of street spots available, and there's even a lot located just across the street if needed. The service was great. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our visit, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The steak and avocado salad was delicious. It came loaded with grilled tri tip slices, rip avocado, blue cheese, cherry tomatoes, pickled red onions, and toasted walnuts. A good balance of rich and fresh flavors. I opted for the green goddess dressing, which complemented the salad beautifully. We also tried the Bull Burger, and it's clear why it's a favorite. Served on a buttery artisan bun, the burger was packed with flavor thanks to crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, smoky BBQ sauce, and their signature Bull Sauce. We decided to upgrade to the garlic fries, and they were worth every bite, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and perfectly seasoned with plenty of garlic. Definitely a place we'll be coming back to.

Not sure about this. Meat and flavor was ok - definitely fine for bar food.

This was not a full dinner review but for Happy hour- so I will keep it brief. I was happy with what I had and wanted to share. Drinks- 8/10 - I wanted more, flavor was right for an Old Fashioned and the JD Bonded Whiskey is highly recommended. Brandied Cherry was a fantastic touch. Beer selection is good here too. Pub food: 7/10. Chicharrones were so deliciously light and crispy- a 9/10! Pork Flautas fell a little flat but just ok is fine for a quick bite of bbq flavor. I would try the Tri Tip in a salad or something else next time. Overall it's a 7.8/10 with room to grow. I will give the BBq a chance so I can truly gage the overall experience. Staff were friendly and bartender knocked it out of the park.

Came here on a Wednesday during lunch and was promptly greeted and sat by staff. Plenty of food options to choose from but I went with a Bull burger. Full bar available too! Burger was super tasty and the dirty martini that I ordered was great as well. Would definitely recommend coming here because of the great food options and staff.

Beyond burger is $20 they charge extra. Their veggie burger has gluten No bun so I ordered a lettuce to wrap Burger came cold and gooey inside Fries tasted and looked funny, supposed to be gluten free Two ppl ordered the same chicken dish, one was great, the other was cold. Couldn't find server and anyone for awhile, finally they recooked it but then it was chicken jerky. Dry and hard and over cooked They had seating for a large party but don't think they had staff or a manager to walk around and pay attention Parking is hard to find to come Not worth it, esp for the prices

Located in the building that once housed the late great De Vere's Irish pub, (the BEST!) is Bull & Mouth.....I don't even know what that means? My wife and I thought it said "Ball in Mouth and mistook it for a Dominatrix Dungeon! Imagine our disappointment when we went in only to discover that the only thing getting Whipped is the cream for their desserts!

    Down the hatch

Went just when they opened so it was not crowded. Ordered the down the hatch burger that has chiles in it and asked for medium patty. I was hoping for some heat, but unfortunately not there. The patty was definitely on the more well done side so it was not juicy. I still enjoyed my burger since I was craving one. The fries were perfectly cooked. There is a cute little library nook they have that you can sit at and enjoy the dark ambiance.

The library was pretty... but sticky. Yes sticky. We walked in and the girl folding napkins didn't look up from her phone, but the bartender welcomed us in. Decent selection of local beers and liquor. I got a soda and the cups were plastic which was interesting, the thin ones from a school cafeteria vibe. I ordered the tritip salad which tasted like burnt cumin meat, really overcooked and likely reheated from the day before. The menu said candied walnuts, they were raw unseasoned walnuts. Avocado was the best part. Partner ordered the grilled cheese burger which was literally a burger patty in between a grilled cheese cut in half. Not bad but nothing to write home about. The fries were a thick cut with some salt, again just edible. The fried green beans were really coated thick with something we couldn't quite put our finger on, very crunchy but a ton of that breading starch taste. Nothing special, but prices also were reasonable so I imagine the college kids love it here. Won't eat there again, but wouldn't mind coming back for a local beer and will avoid the library.

    Tasty eats!

It was a very hearty bowl and we were glad since it was not super cheap ($17.80). While a certain amount of preferential treatment for familiar faces is simply human nature, the contrast felt greater than what could be considered good service. Maybe the Local was only for locals. More recently, on another trip staying in downtown Davis, I decided to give the Local another whirl. Pulling up a stool at the bar on a Saturday afternoon, the bartender extended a friendly greeting. Huh. Service was personable, knowledgeable, & attentive this time around. After a little conversation, I found out he was filling for the regular bartender. Huh. Well OK, then. So I got to trying some beers. They don't do taster pours/ flights here. Everything's at least 1/2 pours. The bartender informed me that they do taster pours/ flights at their brewery location in town. Just not here. Honestly, that's a bummer for me. But I had a few 1/2 pours to taste what they got. For someone who's a bit beer snobby, has far too many 1000's of beer check-ins on Untappd, & once-upon-a-time homebrewed for many years, the beers were good. Not whale-hype mind blowing. But good. Service was nice this visit. It'll be interesting to see which Dunloe Brewing I get on any possible future visit to the Local...

It was a cold afternoon/evening in December, but we dressed warmly and stayed by the firepit. There were maybe 4-6 other clusters of people there also, and definitely another birthday party going on because the guests were singing along loudly to a special request playlist that the staff played on the speaker for them. I thought it was a good number of people considering how cold and dark it got. Our group brought a bunch of kids, and they pretty much explored the grounds the whole time -- feeding the animals, making friends with other kids, and having a blast. Food from the food truck was fine, just be careful leaving your food out unattended because some random dog gobbled our burger when we weren't looking. It's a beautiful spot. We should all be so grateful for having access to it, basically for free. Drinks were good. Good vibes. Super relaxing to be out in nature. Friendly staff. As of this review, you can reserve areas for parties/events for free, and you can bring in your own food and drinks, excluding alcohol, of course, since they are a brewery. I'm sure it gets crazy busy during the warmer months, but it is worth a visit even in the cold. Just dress right.

There's something about the frolicking farm ambiance here that reminds me of the Aliki Farms skit from the 1st episode Portlandia.* So how do I know about Ruhstaller Farm? A friend I homebrewed with for years lives in Dixon. Being beer nerds enough to brew it ourselves, we'd stumbled across Ruhstaller beers a long time ago. That early stuff was rough. The beers pouring now at Ruhstaller Farm are definitely a drastic improvement. The bar staff has always been friendly. & really, this is a nice place to relax & enjoy a beer. But that's it.
